On the designated date and time, the satyress known as Iris would be beckoned to the arena. The time would be early afternoon after the floor has been cleaned from the morning C Rank bouts. The scent of blood would faintly remain as the laborers would be seen carting out a beast's corpse as Iris passed through the tunnels. A few of the gladiators would whistle at her, saying lewd and obscene things to her as men of that sort were often to do. As she would be directed to the gate to the arena floor, a large man with pelt covered armor would begin cranking the gate open, telling Iris to see him for some fun later if she survived with a crooked wink.
The stands would be somewhat filled with the better off people in the third district, some merchants, and others observing the battles of the day at the arena. Vendors would try to sell their foods and wares to the goers, whilst a chubby man stood at the edge of the arena wall in his seat shouting into a wind crystal for others to hear.
"And now we have a new combatant, one known as Iris and a unique specimen at that to prove her might in the arena. She has chosen to forego the C rank entry and jump straight into the B rank! But will her courage give her glory or a gore filled end?"
The opposite gate opens slowly and before any could see, a large, hulking wolf leaps out, eyes aglow in fire as runic tatoos along it's body caused it to howl in pain and agony. Without any prompting, it would charge after Iris, fire manifesting in it's maw as it intends to latch onto her, leaping to air lunge as it got in range. The creature would be as tall as her but longer as typical of the lupine beast.

we must be K I L L E R S CHILDREN OF THE WILD ONES Iris was ready. She always always ready. Changing it up a bit, her attire was more suitable for the occasion. She had armour on for once, bronze in colour. Her chest was covered mostly, the breast plate formed to her ladylike figure, while the arm pieces covered her shoulders to her elbows, intricate patterns over all of it. Under that was some chain male, as the actual pieces didn’t cover a lot, with her abdomen and collarbone still very visible. Her legs she wasn’t worried about, those could handle a lot before they crapped out on her. Her golden hair was tied up in the messiest of messy ponytails, some strands hanging in front of her face, while her horns shone brightly in the noon sun. On her hip was a small belt, her sword made by Adrain hanging on the left side (which she had placed a Celestial Gem inside of), while her lovely enchanted shield rested against her back. She walked to the gates when her name was called, cringing inwardly at the creepy bastard who hit on her. Save it for the corpses; they’re more in your league. Iris snorted to herself, stepping out into the arena. She didn’t pay much mind to the crowd- given her origins, arena battles were quite common, so this didn’t phase her. She cracked her neck as the announcer began his speech, unhooking the shield from her back and fastening to her left arm, as her right hand grabbed the hilt of her sword, slowly pulling it out of its sheath. It glimmered in the sunlight, and she went over how to use the magical parts of it in her head. They might come in handy this time around… It was time. The gate opened, and Iris’s eyes locked onto the beasts, ready for its entrance. Her sensitive hearing had already picked up its pain, and although her heart went out to it for a moment, Iris had desensitized herself to feeling bad for too long. This beast was going to die whether it was her who killed it or not. As it came charging for her, Iris bent her knees, ready to jump to the side. It too jumped into the air, and once it did, Iris jumped to the left, knowing the beast wouldn’t be able to change course in the air. Now that she was on it’s other side, she lunged forward with her sword, muttering the word “fire”, to activate the element of her choosing. That was the beauty of a Celestial Gem - it held all elements. She managed to hit the beast near its hind leg, but she wasn’t too sure how hard it landed. She jumped back again (the advantage to having goat legs), and readied her shield. ArmourWHERE DO WE HAVE LEFT TO R U N ? ulla

Adrain was in the stands watching his friend and bodyguard fight below in the arena. She insisted on this sort of thing, and while it wasn't exactly in his right to tell her no, it did concern him to some extent since he didn't want her to be harmed for either work or personal reasons. Regardless, he would sit watching at the front with a cloak up as to not draw attention to himself.

A spark of flame would erupt from the contact of Iris' sword blow against the creature, but the fire element caused the runes carved into the creature to glow as it begins to release an oppressive heat from the body. tufts of flame erupting every so often. The sword draws blood and the beast howls in anger, but the thicker hide kept it from going but too deep. It turns to lash out at her, but she had already hopped back and the swipe misses. Seeing her at range and empowered by extra fire energy, it lurches back and releases a breath of flame, a sizable fan rapidly filling the gap between itself and Iris as the heat and fire would attempt to engulf her.

we must be K I L L E R S CHILDREN OF THE WILD ONES
Iris had only practiced with this “magic” attached to her sword, on trees and sparring dummies. When the fire erupted off of it upon making contact with the beast, Iris’s eyes widened and a large grin spread on her face. Despite the fact that the fire hadn’t exactly helped her, she quite enjoyed the sensation of it. She could feel the heat rolling off the creature now, even from where she’d pounced away. She quickly put two and two together, seeing the runes, feeling the heat, it wasn’t hard to assume more fire would be coming out of its mouth as it prepared itself.
Iris ducked down and rolled out of the way as the fire came barreling towards her, quick to jump back up on her feet, shield up and ready should the beast turn its head with flames still spewing.
Once the flames would stop, Iris would run at full speed at the beast, testing out a different element to her sword. She muttered the words needed to use the Ice Element, and attempted to strike the creature in the same spot, on the opposite side of it, once again jumping out of reach as soon as she did or did not make contact.

"Hmmm, I figured she had the chops from the way she held herself, but good to see I haven't lost my eye for talent." Came a voice from behind Adrain. Deidric walked up beside the mage covered in armor. After all he was going to be fighting directly after this fight.
As the large man stopped next to Adrain his eyes drifted to the cloaked figure. He smells, unique. He thinks turning back towards the fight to watch the confrontation of his new friend.

The beast was left vulnerable for a moment to strike upon the end of the breath as it inhales sharply to recover the oxygen needed to catalyze the fire. It takes the full brunt of the swing from Iris as it nearly cleaves the limb off, ice erupting around the blow and causing the creature's limb to freeze up and likely be the only thing keeping it able to stand neatly. It howls and whimpers at the blow as it tries to emit heat but it is lessened to merely sweat inducing.
The creature watches Iris warily, ready to lunge at her if she approaches, now clearly on the defensive.

Adrain looks slightly as he hears the man talk about Iris, a brow raising slightly since he seemed to have met her before. It wasn't surprising, Iris was very...promiscuous as he knew and liked the bars so it didn't surprise him that she had many acquaintances potentially. He looked for a moment at the warrior looking person as he blinks. A flash of memory occurs for a moment, a time in the woods, a severed limb growing back after a certain point.
He shook his head and then moved to focus on the fight again, putting the image out of his mind for now. He didn't reply directly to the man in armor since he wasn't sure if he was thinking aloud or speaking to anyone in particular.

Deidric smiled as he saw the cloaked figure, he seemed agitated...well if Deidric smelled like that and was facing someone of his social standing he would be as well. "She's doing pretty well, don't you think? It's a shame she's not from the north." He says casually, though he keeps an eye on the figure from his peripheral vision.

Adrain's attention snaps off of Iris for a moment as he looks at Deidric directly, the words obviously focused on him now. He thinks for a second on how to answer, a strange feeling overwashing him. A hunger tanged from somewhere deep within that was alien to him, yet familiar all the same. It disoriented him slightly, but he shook his head to try to shake it off.
"Oh yes, she's very skilled in combat terms, though I don't know why her being from Palico or one of the small villages would matter too much." he says, slightly curious as to what he meant by the North. The mage felt awkward, why was it this man was making him feel so off. Did he have some sort of disorienting magic? It would make sense since he seemed geared for combat and he might be a participant in a future bout at this arena.

Iris was unaware of her spectators; she'd had a feeling her slightly protective boss would be watching somewhere, but she didnt know his company. Her attention was completely on the creature before herror. A large and fully satisfied smirk reached her lips as her blade made contact, nearly removing it's limb. Iris had grown up in a kill or be killed world- and it was clearly showing. She noted how it didn't retaliate this time around, a sign it was going to be more careful from here on out. Iris circled the beast slowly, her sword still ready before her, shield still strapped to her back. At this rate she felt she may not even need it. Hmmm... what to do... she had gone round the wounded thing twice now, slowly inching closer.
Without warning, she shot put again, not using any magic with this lunge, aiming for the front leg on the same side as the icy one. If solid contact was made, she would twist the blade deeper before yanking it out. If not she would simply roll to the side, stand up and resume her ready position, huffing lightly, her mane of hair scattered everywhere.
(If direct contact was made, she would still roll away etc.)

Deidric didn't miss the reaction, in fact he'd actually been surprised by how obvious it had been. Was there something wrong with this fellow? He wondered as he continued to watch the match and showed a grin of perfect teeth in a strong jaw.
"Indeed being from Palico or one of the villages of the north wouldn't have anything to do with it, but that's not where I'm talking about and we both know it." Deidric replies, though as he thinks for a moment a previous conversation comes back to him and he glances over at the mage.
"Or are you..." his nose twitched a couple of times. "A half-breed...though with another strong bloodline." He wondered his words trailing off.

The beast was growing angrier as time went while the combatants were wary of one another. Survival instincts had begun to kick in as the creature would lunge viciously for Iris, but the leg wound had slowed it's spring and would allow Iris to evade fairly cleanly, the creature wincing as it landed on it's back foot and finding it's front leg gouged open and a blade being twisted as it howls unable to really attack immediately. With both legs on one side of the beast wounded, the hound falls to it's side as the weight was unable to properly be supported. It lay, snarling and lashing and shooting random fire in Iris' direction, occasionally trying to rise but the gored legs prevent it from doing so for long.

Adrain could feel an odd magic in his soul stirring, something not of his day to day. He seemed to get disoriented further as the magic surged around and through his body but when the man said a few odd things, he rose a brow and stabilized himself for a moment.
"No, I very well don't know what you mean. I've lived in this area for as long as I could remember." the wording carefully chosen. The next words were the most interesting however.
"A half breed of what precisely?" he states. Meanwhile in Deidric's mind, something would be trying to reach out to him, if only he would listen. A voice of age and power would resonate with his mind if he allows it in.
'This one has lost his way, his true way. You are much like a loyal servant of mine in my own time, but very much different. People however, rarely change and I'm certain you are at least intrigued...'

Deidric was now giving his full attention to the individual in front of him. He crossed his arms and looked at Adrain with an expression of both interest and concern. Perhaps he was not told about his heritage. Deidric wondered, trying to decide what to do next.
"Well...given how I approached this conversation I'm not actually sure what to say." He admitted his puzzlement plain on his face. "I am also not sure I can answer that question for you, can you tell me the names of your mother and father? I am sorry to ask for the personal detail and I'll do my best to answer and of your questions as well, though perhaps in slightly less populated circumstances."
Then he heard the voice. Well that is very presumptuous of me to suggest you know I'm intrigued. You are absolutely right, but still... after a brief pause who are you, and why are you reaching out to me?
