Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda watched in utter curiosity as the image of herself played before her. She knew that in such a situation she could easily handle herself in this timeline, what with her magic, but perhaps she wasn’t as equipped there. She watched carefully as a man came and helped her, and after only looking at her for a moment. There was no doubt that it was Adrain, and Kalonis confirmed that for her. Herosim… yes, that really must be in his blood. Though I’m sure to most it seems like a curse- helping everyone but yourself really. Melda mused aloud.
Moving on, Melda tried to take in all the knowledge she could about the race he spoke of, not sure she would remember it all, but most of it. So no matter what, he’s going to have to remember one day. Either that or he’ll wonder why he is immortal. She mused again, not really asking him this time.
When Kalonis explained the scene to her, Melda looked up, her eyes hard. Deciding not to love was something she was very familiar with. She’d done the same once she’d heard of Lucas’s death. It was then she also chose never to trust a man again. They always seemed to lie, or hide things. Like going to war against your wives wishes. It’s not extreme at all She mumbled, letting him continue. Given the examples as to why he made the decision, it was even less extreme in Melda’s eyes.
Finally the answer to her most important question was being addressed. Why tell her. Why have this knowledge given to someone at all? Let alone her? When he begun speaking, Melda almost choked. Aria. The Shapeshifter. How had Melda not put those pieces together?? Wait, what does Aria have to do with this? Melda blinked, trying to figure it out on her own. She was sure they had met before. but neither one had mentioned the other, and she doubted they spent a lot of time together. How was she involved? Continuing on, Melda felt like her chest was getting heavy. So you told me this, because you want me to make him remember? You want me to get him to go back? Melda took a deep breath, tearing her eyes from him and looking down at her own hands for a moment. If she told him all of this, and for some reason he actually remembered it all, he would leave. Maybe no right away for all she knew, but he would go back… but then again, eventually he would remember anyhow… And not telling him, and letting an entire people be destroyed? How selfish was she?
She looked back up as he began speaking again, ignoring the moment of rage he’d had. He wanted to offer her something, but at the moment all she could think about was hiding this from him. How could she do that? She wasn’t a liar. She never had been. No… I don’t have anymore questions. She didn’t want to know anymore than she already did...

"...Aria comes from the same time as he. She knows some of the truth and is trying to keep him in this idealistic life as long as possible. Her interests were more in line with her own world at the time." Kalonis says, not having much more meaningful to add to the subject of Aria. The conversation on their end will likely happen in it's own due course.
When Melda asked if he meant for her to make him remember, he shook his head.
"That would be a difficult task for you to do as such directly, and I can see it in your eyes that you do not wish for him to return. You have your own interests involved to some degree as is normal for all sentients. I wanted the knowledge available to be passed on should he awaken of his own mechanism or if you were to play an active hand in this. Truth be told, it doesn't matter if it took another thousand years, for when he crosses the timestreams, he will appear when he is needed to do what must be done. At this point, he made decisions that have bound him to this world, so any leave would be temporary. Measures would have to be taken to prevent paradox when me people are to be snatched from the jaws of destruction. When time is meaningless, you tend to play the very long game you see. You do not have to do anything until he awakens, then it is my hope that justice will be done in all measures. It is good that someone at least understands completely, at least more than before." he states, then looking at Melda as she indicated she had no more inquiries.
Kalonis waved his hand as a sphere of white energy manifested in front of her. He chuckles slightly.
"You will process this, the emotional will subside and you will be wiser for it in one way or another. Let me offer you a gift of sorts. I have observed that you are prudish, but you have an unfulfilled side to you...a more...basic need if you will as evidenced by your participation earlier. You may have a copy of that dream experience to relive as you see fit with your lucid dreaming ability. We Ku-Deyu have always valued creative solutions to problems so hopefully you would get some use out of this should you move past your initial likely reaction of shock and shame. Trust me, I care not one way or another but this is the only meaningful way I can compensate you for the burden of knowledge you have undertaken. Should you accept, state the world Syafalian whilst dreaming, the word for 'To Release Inhibition' in our language. In any case...should you wish to meet once more, you will have to find a way to enter his natural dreams once more. It has been a pleasure to meet you.." the shackled soul states as the realm begins to fade around Melda.
Back in the ARC, she would awaken first. Shortly after gathering her bearings, Adrain would awaken startled and scrambling to a sitting upright position, only once realizing where he was and what was going on. He looks around absentmindedly then rubbing his eyes before realizing he wasn't alone which visible startled him.
"Oh...Melda, hello! Ah...I'm afraid I put myself in an awkward position here falling asleep while going over the ARC's glyphs and spells to make certain there wasn't any anomalies. I didn't find anything, so I hope that puts your mind at ease." he says, then gathering his composure and standing up, helping Melda up should she still be sitting.
"Was there anything you needed, or did you happen to find me in my shame of passing out while working and wanted an occasion to poke fun?" he states with an innocent bemusement to him.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda blinked once. Twice. Aria was from the same time as him? And she’s never said a word? Realistically, Melda knew she couldn’t be overly upset with the red head, Melda had never tried to pry about where she was Fated from, nor had they spoke much of Adrain between the two of them, not giving Aria much room to bring it up. Yet at the same time, Melda couldn’t help but feel a little hurt by it, for reasons she didn’t understand. She didn’t respond to that topic and only nodded.
Thankfully, her assumptions had been false. No… its not that I don’t wish for him to return, its that his absence would cause a domino effect. Although yes, I do care for him, without him we would no longer have a Headmaster at the Arch, the students would lose a great teacher, our King would lose a newly appointed Duke, and all the land he’s accumulated would be back on the market. Not to mention we would no longer have someone with a mind such as his- he’s been furthering out technology by great leaps- the chamber for example. My feelings for him aside, our world isn’t ready to lose him. Melda defended herself, feeling confident in her beliefs. Though thankfully it didn’t matter when he remembered, so long as one day he returned and righted the wrongs in his time.
Melda looked curiously as the sphere formed in front of her, wondering what it was. As he went on to explain, her porcelain face turned red as the newly blooming roses. Unfulfilled? She had been all but celibate since her husband died. Her first kiss since then had been within Adrains dream. Unfulfilled was certainly a way to put it, but it had been by choice… This gift was so odd, she wasn’t sure how to respond to him. It felt strange, having his dream to replay… without his knowledge, she would be doing things, with a past form of him… that just felt creepy. But Melda didn’t say anything on that, and simply smiled her thanks. That is quite the interesting gift, but i thank you. It has been a pleasure to meet you as well… Melda managed to get in before he disappeared.
She opened her eyes, staring up at the ceiling for a moment to gather her thoughts. Wow. Just… wow. She sat up slowly, smoothing her hair down so it no longer looked like she had been laying down, and stood up. She looked over to where Adrain sat, still slumped in his chair asleep and smile softly. Then he jumped up, finally awake, and she couldn’t help but chuckle when he realized he wasn’t alone. It does, thank you for doing all that work Headmaster. I really do appreciate it. Melda mused, knowing now that her “visions” from before, was from him, not the ARC. When asked what she needed, Melda’s mind went blank, temporarily forgetting the reason in which she had rushed out here. Oh- uhm. No, that was just an added bonus. I actually had some questions about teaching here. I got a bit worried about it earlier and couldn’t sleep.

"Well, if there was an issue I'd have to take care of it for the safety of both the instructors and the students." he says, rubbing the back of his head with a nervous laugh, still a little off his proverbial game from being startled as he was. Melda seeing him in that less than completely composed state brought a little embarrassment to him. He seems to stare at Melda for a second before he then rubs his right eye shaking his head slightly. Something seemed especially familiar about Melda, but he couldn't place his finger on it.
When he listened to Melda inquiring about teaching and worry, he tilted his head. "I wouldn't expect such a thing to keep you up, you have had a role in teaching entitled nobles how to behave for the king for a bit, students should be a step down from that. Perhaps some tea will help you relax a little and put yourself at ease." he states as he holds his hand up manifesting a portal, intending for Melda to follow.
On the other end it was in Adrain's personal wing of the Arch. Serai, the large phantom tiger dozed lightly on top of one of the couches around the end table while Adrain would be filling a kettle with water and starting a fire over a stove. The surrounding area would be typical of what one would expect: pictures, documents, higher quality furniture. There was one door that was guarded by a pair of golems but the golems weren't obviously active.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Of course, and I wouldn’t expect any less of you. Melda praised with a smile, still semi teasing. She could sense his embarrassment quite easily, and prodding at it was proving to be quite funny. Come now Headmaster, you aren’t flustered by my presence now are you? I’m not that scary. Melda had come to enjoy teasing him, as she wasn’t allowed to be so easy going with most people. But with Adrain it was so easy. She cocked her head to the side curiously as he stared at her for a moment, wondering why.
Yes, I thought of that. But this is different. The people I mentor have been taught their whole lives to act a certain why, or were raised in families that tolerated a certain attitude… these children… are going to be rowdy, and rude, and “entitled”, and they will not respect their elders, as they never really do. I taught young adults how to transition into a role they’ve been training for since they could walk and talk… this is so much different. Melda let out, sighing at the end and leaning against the table. When he made the portal and offered tea, Melda smiled fondly, happy for the offer.
She pushed herself off the table, wrapping her cloak around her a bit tighter, flashes of the “dream state” hitting her mind as she walked past him, and suddenly very aware that she’d rushed to the Arch in a dress she never would have deemed appropriate. She looked around the room, nodding in appreciation. It’s very nice in here. Ohh, and I haven’t seen Serai in quite some time now. Melda spoke softly not wanting to wake the tiger.

"Not flustered at your presence, more flustered at being caught off guard from awkward sleeping location as an esteemed Duke of the realm now." he says, his eyes rolling slightly at Melda's good natured jab at him. He didn't reply right away in concern to the first statement made with teaching. On the other side of the portal, once the water was set to boil in a short enough time, he reached up to a cabinet above, pulling out a bag of tea leaves and setting them up in a boiling bag.
"This is a far eastern tea with a hint of wisdom fruit and other fruit flavors designed to put a mind to relax and unwind. It's a blend a colleague of mine made that I've grown to like when there is much on my mind." he states, then moving to sit on a stool near the counter, looking across at Melda from where she was looking around.
"Oh did you meet Serai?" he says, taking a moment to think since usually he had kept the overgrown housecat away from Melda during previous encounters. Then he remembered.
"Oh, yes, the springs that one night...how could I let that slip my mind." he states then returning to the original subject at hand. "The students aren't as bad as you seem to be fearing, and each instructor has the right to enforce discipline as long as it causes no meaningful bodily harm. Part of the condition for being in the academy is that they show a modicum of respect but you can simply mute them with air magic or freeze them if they try to be especially assinine to you." he states, then sniffing and turning to the tea, walking over and pulling a teacup out of the cabinet and pouring a cup, turning and bringing it to Melda before returning to get one for himself.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Oh, so you’re the “Esteemed Duke of the Realm” now are you? Melda laughed lightly, enjoying their banter. As Adrian prepared the tea, Melda took in the room, comparing it to the one she currently had in her head. They were obviously quite different. As he explained the tea, Melda turned to look at him, her arms crossing over her abdomen. It sounds lovely, thank you. She smiled softly, moving towards one of the other stools near the counter.
As Adrain seemed surprised as her knowing Serai, she laughed. It took him a moment, but he quickly remembered their first encounter. Yes, the springs night. I don’t blame it for slipping your mind- it was very… interesting to say the least. I honestly cannot fathom what compelled me to actually get in the bath, rather than turn around and head home- it was probably Aria. Melda shook her head. Never in her life had she entered a bath with another - unknown - man. It was odd to say the least. Though I am slightly offended you so easily forgot our first meeting. She teased again.
Going back to the topic at hand, Melda listened carefully. She laughed at his final option. I suppose you’re right. I don’t know, I’ve never spent a long amount of time with children their age. I mean, I watched Noku grow up from his infancy, but I was never directly involved. Same with my Godson, Theodore. She shrugged lightly, taking the tea from him with a smile. It smells lovely.

"To those who care about the title, in private I still like to think myself just a man with the best intentions for everyone around me. They aren't mutually exclusive but no need to make others feel the need to pet my ego." he says with a slight chuckle. "But of course, her grandness and esteem, the Duchess Vanya of Nova must be respected at all times." he says, turning the wit back on her.
"Right, well I could tell you were uncomfortable and didn't want attention drawn to you so I didn't wish to do as much, especially since at the time I didn't have a title and for all I know you could have had made my life harder if you thought I was staring at your lady bits in the court or something of the like. Though that night was...certainly interesting. I feel bad I had a little bit of a overheating by being in the water too long and distracting the others from that game of truths, though you probably were relieved that was brought to an end." he says with a small chuckle.
"Don't think of them as children who have to be pandered, anyone who takes up the arcane is in control and responsible for their own actions and as such need to be held accountable if they are really needing to be corrected. Probably the worst thing I've done to a student was to make him go for a week with an air elemental haunting him in various, comical ways for constantly disrupting a class with pranks. He never did that again when the elemental decided to slap his manhood with a burst of air when he tried to show off for his crush at the river and became a laughing stock. It's certainly a creative way to reach respect." he says, then going over to the kettle and checking on the tea for a moment, trying to judge if it was done or not. A few moments later, he pulls a porcelain tea cup from a cabinet and filling the cup with tea, doing the same for a second cup. He puts them on saucers and places one near Melda, then going to a cabinet and preparing a small plate of pastries from another container, putting them in between. They would be assorted flavors of small cookies.
"Sorry if these aren't to your tastes, I would have prepared something more elegant if I knew I would be entertaining you tonight. I probably should hurry up and scout out a location for a manor on my land or in the first district to suit my 'status' but I'd make little use of it with my work at the Arch. That said, there are some lovely natural pockets on the edge of the woods." he says, getting distracted in thought for a moment.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda laughed whole heartedly as his joke, shaking her head. You really are that humble aren’t you? And I’ll have you know, it took a long time to gain the respect I have now… If being icy means I get the respect I deserve, than so be it. Melda was big on manners, as her mother had been. She could be comfortable like this when the time came, but until then, icy she would remain.
Melda snorted without intending to, and she brought her hands up to cover her face after. Lady bits? Was there really no other way to word that? Melda shook her head again, stunned by his words. You’re so odd. She continued to chuckle. That game was so awkward. I’m not big on those games to begin with, but when adding in the rules and the issues… it just went so oddly. Melda thought back on it, Yuki was so reserved, Ellaria was out of place, and no one could ask questions they really wanted.
As he went on to talk about the students, Melda found herself grinning and laughing again. This man was crazy! I’m beginning to think your methods should be nothing like mine! How inappropriate! Despite her words, she was still laughing, as she could only imagine that scenario. She takes the tea and blows softly on it to cool before taking a sip. A small smile spread on her lips. Ohh, this is beautiful. Thank you again. She spoke softly, loving the aroma as well.
The look just fine to me- believe it or not, I’m really not picky when it comes to food. She grinned knowingly, and grabbed a cookie, taking a small bite while listening to him muse. I’d say have something near the castle, it doesn’t have to be extreme, and just use it when it’s needed. Like for that bodyguard of yours. It would be convenient- coming out here isn’t that easy for most people. She nodded, knowing that if she didn’t have her chambers in the castle, it was what she would do. She looked at his face while he was distracted by thought for a moment, a warm smile on her face.

"Well when you're in the court you do what you must, certainly I imagine if you're the kinder woman I see now publicly you would be taken advantage of. I come from an odd position. I can play the part if I must to maintain appearances, but that conflicts with my overarching goal to improve how magic is seen in the eyes of all. The stereotype people fear is the arrogant, oppressive mage who thinks themselves over. I think its better if I can generally portray myself as a relatable figure who despite having the potential to cause great disruptions through power." he says with a shrug, not having had to think about that concept in too much depth before.
"What would you prefer? Breasts? Boobies? Nip nops...whatever slang the kids use these days?" he says, coyly looking at Melda, knowing that would get a rise out of her since that was language he never used normally but he wanted to catch her off guard with that. "Odd, eccentric, whatever you want to call it." he says at the remark of being odd but only nodding in agreenace to her comments relating to the game.
When she scolded him about the elemental, he raised his hands and laughed softly, closing his eyes. "The elemental did that of it's own accord. They have their own personalities. Now if I made a golem of air somehow that did that, then sure you can blame me. But the fact is when kids think they are great because they can conjure a bolt of lightning, they have to be reminded that there are those stronger still to keep them humble. Even I have those better than me even though some could argue I am the most powerful mage in the world, deities for example. Pushing back Helena caused a lot of damage, and that was only to counter one spell. I could probably do it better now, but all the same I'd rather not fight a deity if I can help it. But naturally, you can come up with your own methods." he says with zero sound of arrogance, but complete objectivity.
"I'm glad you like the tea, it should help you relax by soothing the nerves and activating the mind. It is commonly sought here around exam time to help students with their last minute prep." he says then nodding and not responding immediately when she input into the subject of the castle and the proximity. After a moment he replies.
"Oh I imagine she would like that to have the run of a house of a noble for whatever she wants to do. I suppose I could make a stationary portal from a manor to the Arch on the outskirts of the city or the outer part of the first district, or something. That might be more practical if Yuki will be a student as well as yourself teaching. There are possibilities for sure, though I will build something in the natural alcove at some point.." he says as he then turns to face Melda again, seeing her seemingly staring at him.
"Oh do I have crumbs on my face or something?" he inquires innocently, turning to a mirror to examine himself.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda nodded along, knowing she’d thought similar things. If she were to be overly kind, understanding, warm… well there was a good chance she would have either failed at her job, been a fool, or turned into a gossiping teenager for all her life- as nobles didn’t usually develop far past that in their older age. Luckily for her, her mother had taught her otherwise, and as thus she created an icy demeanour, partially meant to keep away unwanted suitors, but also to gain the respect she needed as a noble to do her job right. It’s one of the reasons she was worried about Yuki. If Yuki didn’t find some semblance of a backbone, she wouldn’t make it very far in the court. Oddly enough, I believe you completely on that. Melda said calmly, keeping to herself why.
As the subject returned to his awful vocabulary, Melda cringed, making a horrible face. Goodness! I feel like I need to wash my ears out now. Bravo, you’ve corrupted my mind with your awful word choice. Melda half mocked, her face still pink with laughter. After a moment she furrowed her brows and looked at him curiously. …Nip nops? Really? I… honestly what the hell? She shook her head, still chuckling. Kids were weird.
Melda rolled her eyes. Defend yourself all you want. Even if it had done it on its own, I still blame you- I’m not sure you’re the greatest of influences. She shook her head, listening to the rest of what he had to say. She was surprised to find absolutely no arrogance in his tone as he seemed to be boasting about his achievement. The most powerful mage in the world… Interesting. Melda turned her eyes down to her tea, images flashing behind her eyes of her speaking to Kalonis. She blinked a few times to clear her head and took a deep breath before sipping the tea, nodding when he spoke about it. I can see why. It’s very soothing for one. Melda commented distractedly.
As he spoke about Iris and the home, Melda arched an eyebrow coming back to reality. How is she doing anyhow? As a bodyguard? Melda had been one of the first nobles to reach out and obtain one, after the King had nearly been poisoned, and it was how she’d ended up with Diamond. I need to look into finding another, now that Diamond’s moved forward with his career… Despite being fully capable myself… Melda sighed, hating that she had to keep up the illusion that she was helpless.
When Adrian turns to face her again, finding her gazing at him, he had the most innocent look on his face, causing Melda to blink and look away, her own face slightly tinged. No sorry. It’s late, I just spaced out for a moment. She cleared her throat lightly, taking another sip of the tea while she grabbed another cookie.

"Well my apologies then Duchess, my crassness comes out at times when I am more comfortable around friends." he says coyly with a touch of sarcasm meant for good humor when she scolded him for corrupting her mind. He didn't push the subject any further since he didn't want to leave her more room to scold him for that though for all he knew she would hold onto that for the future.
"Maybe not, but people usually enjoy the influence after the bumps in the road along the way and respect is both ways." he says, shrugging when Melda scolded him for the elemental. He wondered if Melda had much experience with elementals to underestimate their unpredictability, but decides not to press on. When she commented about it, he laughed a bit embarassedly.
"Well, this area with the three Noru kingdoms is also only a smaller part of the world at large, there could always be more to it than that." he says with a shrug. "Sorry if I sound as though I'm bragging by mentioning that, I may be thinking a little less filtered than normal being a bit later." he says with a small laugh.
"Iris is a good and loyal friend. I know what you mean about the 'despite being capable' part, I hired her more to have another set of eyes than a guardian since frankly I am always mindful of some underhanded business in the court. Plus appearances and the like, as well as Iris needed a stable job so it made perfect sense." he says, admittedly praising Iris more than he might normally aloud. She was someone who he had grown to rely on more than he thought even if its something one could argue wasn't entirely needed.
While Adrain was checking himself and hadn't yet wandered back over to re-engage Melda, the elf would feel a mass stroke her leg as Serai shimmered into sight and placed his head upon her leg, looking at her as if examining her from his lower position. Adrain turns around and raises a brow.
"Serai, don't cause trouble." he says, then turning to busy himself with looking for something, probably food for the large cat.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda rolled her eyes, a humorous look clear on her face. Should I consider myself lucky then? She chuckled, very much enjoying their back and forth humour. It was keeping her light hearted despite everything else she’d witnesses this night. She let the topic of the elemental go; admittedly she knew nothing about them. Her magic was always under wraps, and as thus she didn’t have time for things like that.
When Adrain corrected his “in the world” statement to the Kingdoms surrounding Nova, Melda nodded her head with a “yeah, theeerreeee you goo” look on her face. You don’t sound like you’re bragging at all, oddly enough. You’re strangely modest, while also being fully aware of your capabilities. Thought your faulty filter is kind of endearing. Melda added the end bit unintentionally, her own filter a bit faulty at this late hour. This night had risen her blood pressure, and given the lateness, she was very tired. The tea was helping, but her Duchess Persona had slowly worn down.
Moving on to Iris, Melda smiled, happy he’d found someone he was comfortable around- that was important in someone you were spending nearly every moment of every day together. I understand the appearance thing. Its quite a nuisance- but you have it easier. If you bust out with magic to protect yourself, no one would bat an eye. I on the other hand… Melda rose an eyebrow, leaving that up for interpretation, eating her cookie.
While she did this, she felt something brush against her leg, and looking down she found Serai, and a smile spread on her lips. As he placed his head on her leg, the smile grew softer. Aren’t you sweet. She whispered, putting the cookie down to pet the giant cat. She stood up, getting off the stool, and knelt down, for a moment ignoring her loose night-wear, and gave Serai her full attention, petting his head, neck and back. (So long as he let her. Should he not, she would just sit back down on the stool. ) Oh he’s not causing trouble at all. She responded, enjoying the company.

"Only if you want to." he replies simply to her with a chuckle and a small grin. When Melda commented about modesty and the filter faltering, he smiled a little, exhaling as he closed his eyes, the light becoming slightly dimmer as he did. When he opened his eyes again, they would glow slightly. In fact, they always seemed to glow just hard to tell due to high light but in this more dimly lit setting that attribute would stand out.
"Endearing you say? I wonder if that is a good thing or a bad thing with you." he says, half absentmindedly as he yawned a little. His gaze seemed to stay on Melda's for a moment longer than he might before he got distracted with the tea.
When Melda mentioned the fact she had kept her magic under wraps, he shrugged. "Well you could learn telekinesis or you can simply cause the air around someone accosting you to leave causing them to pass out. There are subtle ways to defend, but perhaps I should make you something that you can blame any magic from like a defensive thing." he says showing a concern for Melda's well being.
When Melda said he wasn't causing trouble, Adrain let out an affirmative noise as he rustled for the item for the cat. When Melda slid off to give him her full attention, Serai let loose a low, growl like purr and seemed content, leaning into the scratches of the elven woman. He seemed to get excited as he heard the items being moved around with the attention, his tail swishing. As soon as Adrain opened a bag and a scent of meat fills the air along with it being put in his bowl as the male moved to feed, the hungry cat got excited and turned to run to his feeding dish.
However...
One of Serai's claws had hooked into a loose part of Melda's attire. As the heavy cat moves to spring off with his claw stuck...

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda shook her head, sarcasm clear on her face- but she let it go. She had teased him enough for a short while- at least on that topic. Melda glanced around them as the lights dimmed in the room, and it took her a moment for her eyes to adjust properly. She had to admit, for the late hour it was, the dimmed lights were comforting. Melda looked back at Adrain, a content look on her face, when she saw the glow behind his eyes. She tilted her head to the side and stared curiously, directly into them. She didn’t ask anything, didn’t speak at all for the moment; just stared at them. Admittedly, she was very tired, and as thus, she didn’t really register she was staring into his eyes, she was just curious why they glowed. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she tried to come up with her own explanation.
She would snap out of it after a moment, be it prompting of words, or on her own, and moved on. Good or bad? Do I come off as so harsh to find endearing a bad thing? Melda chuckled. She knew she was big on manners- and she knew the world knew that. But being endearing was fine- it was obnoxious or flirty that she found distasteful at most times. Seeing his yawn, she let out a small one of her own, raising her hand up to cover her mouth as she did. Because of this, her eyes were closed when Adrain seemed to look at her a moment longer.
I’ll tell the king eventually. I’ve known him his entire life… so despite his status, I can pull a slight “Don’t sass your ‘aunt’” card. I mean, I’m not his aunt, but I was around before he was born, that gives me some high ground. I hope. Melda sighed- with Noku she could never tell. She knew he saw her as someone worthy of his court, and had trusted her on many occasions, but they’d never been a close pair. She shrugged off the conversation, not wanting to worry about his reaction at that moment in time.
She was too distracted by Serai anyways, petting his soft fur constantly. She had a soft grin on her face the entire time, loving feline creatures. They were always so majestic and calm, she admired them. But like every type of feline, Serai was very easily distracted, and hearing/smelling his food set him off, as he rushed away from Melda. Before Melda had time to fully react to his pouncing away from her, her dress had torn; caught on his claws. The dress was nothing more than a simple nightgown, not meant for roaming much farther if at all, from ones bed chambers. However, Melda had left in such a tizzy that she hadn’t even thought to change. It was her own luck that an overgrown cat would tear it. As the fabric tore, Melda let out a surprised yell, like a loud “woah!”. As she’d been kneeling, his claw had been caught long her abdomen, and the dress had torn completely across the waist like. Because of that, the top part had come loose, nearly falling from her chest were she not to grab it, holding it over the important bits. The bottom also slid down, which she had to grab with her other hand to hold up. Sarai had left her looking like a tavern dancer in shabby clothing, her abdomen completely exposed, her chest more visible than most times, the sleeves to her dress haven fallen from her shoulders, giving it this loose attractive effect. Melda stood up, holding the skirt half up, the fabric bunching around her hand, on the left side of her hip, while her other hand had a similar effect at her ride side of her chest.
She cleared her throat, red as she could be. A-Adrain… I take it back. He caused trouble. Her voice trembled lightly- she hated being embarrassed.
