Sai watched Zpyhire as she worked, nodding her head she went and helped her lifting the deer. It didn’t weigh as much as she thought a bit less than a fully grown human but still the weight wasn’t anything much to her.
Taking back the dagger she knelt down on the grass next to the deer, following Zpyhire’s instruction she started the cut from the mark going along to the back being careful not to inject the dagger too far into the creature. “Why do I feel like you just wanted me to do this even without me having better precision with a dagger.” She said as she moved to loop off the hoofs being careful as she slowly started to pull the skin away from the deer until it was fully off. Placing the skin down she looked at the now naked deer. “So how do we go about cutting it.”

Zyphire looked as Sai skinned the deer towards her instructions, she was surprised that Sai actually did it much better for her first time then she did when she was younger. “Oh wow, this isn’t that bad especially for your first time. And yeah I did try cleaning kills when I was much younger but it ended really badly. Guess I was right to let you do that.” Zyphire smiled as she clapped her hands together looking at the skinless deer “Well this part might be a bit easier. Along the muscles you can see how it forms, we basically cut parallel to that so each piece comes out whole. Well I hope. Let's cut the legs off first.” Zyphire walked towards the front legs and moved it up causing the muscles in the deer to flex and stretch “Okay if i remember right, Sorry it's been a while. We need to cut here” Pointing towards the base of the leg where there was a slight curve and traced the line “Cut the curve here, it should be where the joint between the bones are. Just cut between those and pop the bone out. Then after we do all four legs the body won’t be as bad… I hope….” Zyphire almost mumbled the last part as she continued trying to recall what she learned over decades ago. Honestly Zyphire was just glad that they were able to find and kill one, she thought they’d have to rush to a butcher at town but with Sai’s steady hand on the dagger they might be able to do this without much of a problem.

“Well I need to have a steady hand for my job.” Sai said as waited for the next set of instructions. The next part did seem easy enough as she watched Zyphire’s hands as pointed towards the base of the leg. Though as much as Sai felt that she could do it there was a small fear that she might ruin the meat but it it’s the first time trying to hunt an animal so if she did ruin part of the meat it was first time for everything.
After she butchered the deer, and got everything they started to head back towards the city. “So Zyphire I’m guessing that you know more than just plants and potions.”

After watching Sai butcher the deer with her instructions Zyphire smiled slightly as they began their walk back to the city. “Not too much more, everything else was usually taught to everyone in the village where I was from, After your taught general stuff you choose what you want to study and usually there would be at least one person if not more that would help you. When you're as old as me Sai bits and pieces of knowledge just naturally come to you.” Looking at the stuff they were able to get Zyphire expected at least it should last them a few days before they would have to gather more, She was happy they actually got all of the items they did since she expected to only get a small amount of herbs on the trip. “If you want I’ll tell you a bit more about me if you tell me a bit more about yourself. Seems like we’ll be in each other’s company for a really long time anyways.”

Sai only nodded her head it made sense in a way that some things were taught to everyone in the village. Though hearing Zyphire mention very vaguely about her age made her wonder a bit just how old the woman next to her. “I’ll take that deal.”
Thinking for a moment on what she could tell Zyphire after some thought she decided to start with the most honest thing. “I don’t remember my parents or my family if I have one. I was kidnapped and sold to someone who raised me a servant for a bit.” She said as she adjusted the meat so it didn’t slip while they were making their way back to the city.

Zyphire smiled when Sai agreed though as she listened she felt bad for Sai “I’m sorry to hear that, where i’m from usually kidnappings never happen, instead it was just fight after fight. As a kid we were taught different weapons and taught our respective elemental magic, Once we find a weapon we excel at an instructor would train us.” Zyphire took a breath and decided to continue. I was somewhat of an outcast, my element is water which is fairly rare, but I actually found out I liked gathering and being a physician instead of a fighter so I became the Physician’s assistant since I was 8 or so.

“It’s okay the man who raised me made the person I am today so I’m not too sad about it.” Sai as they walked she listened to Zyphire. She was a bit envious that she did not have to experience being kidnapped, though her village did sound nice being taught how to fight and also how to use magic. Sai eyes sadden a bit hearing that the blue haired woman next to her was considered an outcast because she took more to gathering and healing. “Well you village sounds like it was an interesting one.”
“Well when I found out what my adopted father did he almost killed me. Until I panicked and shapeshifted into him.” She said with a giggle remembering the day.

“Thats good at the least, and well it was interesting, the village was one of many and there were always fights for territory and glory, though one night the village betrayed me. Because of that I came here and searched for a new place to stay.” As Zyphire said that she remembered the night as her village burned to the ground, unknown if anyone from the village was even alive at the moment, she didn’t care. All she knew was the one person she cared about in the village was killed. “Wait go back. You're a shapeshifter? Like you can change into other people?” Zyphire quickly looked at Sai in a surprise. “Does it hurt? Do you gain the person’s trait?” Zyphire began to ask a few questions since she never thought she would had ever met one.

“I’m sorry to hear that the village betrayed you. Though if that never happened we would have never met and I wouldn’t have extra hands at the orphanage.”
“Uh… I never told you?” Sai said nervously laughing a bit. She could have swore she had mentioned it but given Zyphire’s reaction it seemed she didn’t but at least she was taking it well. Though some of the questions did seem a bit strange. “Um… it doesn’t hurt once you get use to it. If by traits you mean they physical looks I gain all of that minus the eye colour. Though if you mean by strength or anything like that unfortunately I do not.” Taking a moment giving her a chance to ask any more questions before she continued. “The only downside is my hair, if I cut today it grows back tomorrow as if I never cut it.”

“Yeah, thats probably the one good thing that came out of it, though don’t worry the village no longer exists.” Remembering what she did she continued to walk with Sai towards Nova.
“Nope, you never told me about your shapeshifting abilities.” Zyphire was intrigued about hearing that Sai had shapeshifting abilities and was happy when Sai began answering her questions, “Aww not having the other person’s abilities sucks, though it would make sense since it is still your body. And well your hair looks really nice it be a shame to cut it.” Zyphire looked as they begin reaching the gate “Is it exhausting to use? Sorry for all the questions it’s just I never met one before though I heard a lot about them.”

“Well to be honest not having the person’s abilities is perfectly fine, if you think about it. If I had a job where I was setting a trap for someone not having those abilities of the person I look like helps to throw the other person off.” She said blowing a loose strand of hair out of her face. Sai laughed a bit, “It’s a pain to deal with, I have to trim it so it doesn’t drag on the ground. You know I once cut my hair for some extra money.”
Not skipping a beat, “It’s not exhausting to it. It’s more taxing when you have to prefect the personality of the person you become. Though from what I been told they are other types of shifters, I happen to be one of the least common type of shifters. There are the animal shifters which is the most common and the inanimate which is rare or so I been told.” Waving her hand a bit. “It’s okay I don’t mind the questions to be honest.”

“Yeah that makes sense, and really? Your hair is really pretty though, I didn’t think that was possible. What did people need with your hair that you could make money off of it anyways Sai?” Zyphire looked at Sai as she told her. After hearing Sai go into more detail on the shapeshifters Zyphire let out an audible ouuu “Thats really cool but yeah I can see how making sure you copy the personality of someone would be much harder especially if theirs doesn’t match yours and thats good cause I probably would ask you questions from time to time.” Zyphire said as they pasted the gate, “was there anything you wanted to ask me?”

“Well apparently someone wanted my hair to make into a wig. I don’t know what’s so special about my hair that they would want to turn it into a wig. Though it was a few years ago I wonder who bought the wig.” Looking up Sai saw that they had made it back to the gate.
Walking towards the orphanage, trying to think of what she could ask Zyphire. It was hard since she never done small talk and tried to get to know someone though talk and not fighting. “Um… What type of elf are you if you don’t mind me asking?” She finally asked once they were at the doors for the orphanage.
