Date: 17th of Sato Time: Early Morning Tag: SaiZyphire packed up early in the morning and walking down to the entrance of the orphanage, she told Sai her plan to go to the Goussael River the night before so she could accompany her to the river. Meeting Sai at the entrance Zyphire smiled before walking alongside Sai towards the river. The orphanage would be watched by the older kids during the time they were gone.
After exiting the city the reached the river not to long afterwards as zyphire looked at the view of the river and willow trees around the area before beginning her search "Hey Sai the kids might enjoy coming here one day" Zyphire said as she slowly walked the area looking for anything herbs so she doesnt step on them. "Did you want to help gather some as well Sai? Doesn't look like theres any major danger over here right now" Zyphire continued as she walked closer to the river bank and followed it hoping to find some mermaid tears.

Sai had been up early that morning she had dressed simply that day in black pants and a dark red top with a criss-cross pattern. On her hip was the Zhu Que Wing dagger, along with her five throwing daggers on her belt. Before leaving she picked up her silver necklace with the small sapphire gemstone and clasped it around her neck. As she left she told her oldest son that she was just going to the river with Zyphire and she would be back later in the day so make sure no one got hurt and no one went into her bedroom even if they wanted to train since she preferred to be there to supervise the children.
Once they were at the river she stretched her arms towards the sky thinking that this would be a nice place for her and Alekir to come on a date. Nodding her head at the mention of bringing the kids out here since it was peaceful enough plus if anything she could also use it as a training area for dodging moving targets while having to deal with inanimate objects that might block them. “I don’t mind helping if you could describe the plant to me.” She finally spoke up she was glad to have Zyphire around another female that she could talk to about things it was nice to have another friend.

“Hmm okay well in the river bank if we’re lucky there should be some type of flower, the leaves should look like they fall towards the leaves trying to get to the roots, the flower is usually a light color, and it looks dewy, sorta like there's a shine to it. Sorry if the description isn’t the best. If we can find them they’re good for pains for burns and wounds.” Zyphire continued to search through the river hoping to find one to show as an example.
“If we can find it there’s a few more i’d hope to find before we head back though they’ll be further down near the willow trees.” Zyphire said as she continued walking seeing something blowing towards the river, thinking that it might be the plant she was looking for she picked up her pace. Once she got there she realized it was just some grass and pulled it out.

Sai nodded her head at the description of the plant, it was something easy enough to find. Moving along the river bank stopping at times to check any of the plants that seem to match some piece of the description. She did feel a bit silly looking for a single plant since she never used the plant before since she normally either had her limited healing magic or just go, healer but with Zyphire it would be a little easier for her in the case that her got hurt or any of the children got seriously hurt during they basic self-defence class.
As she looked at the different plants finding nothing fitting the description just yet. Looking up she notice that Zyphire seem to be sprinting ahead thinking that maybe she found the plant Sai quickly picked up her pacing catching up to the shorter female in less steps. Once closer to the blue haired female she realized the disappointed in not finding the plant but they had just started searching and they had most of the day before having to return since as much as they both trust the children she knew that they couldn’t leave them alone for too long with the amount they are looking after. “You mentioned other plants. Were the other plant you wanted to find on this outing today?”

Zyphire continued to look for more plants until Sai mentioned about other plants to find as well “Oh yeah that’s true, though there is a few to name it probably would be in different areas, the other one we can probably find here if i remember correctly was called a sleepy willow.” Zyphire said as she pointed towards the trees, “They look exactly like a willow tree except the leaves on it would be almost like needles. A small branch should be enough just don’t get poked by one they’re poisonous. The tips are fairly sharp and the poison is pretty potent as well.”
Zyphire looked at Sai for a second before remembering about her flasks and grabbed one from her waist. “Here, put the leaves in here if you prefer not to carry around a branch to the orphanage, I still need to find this plant at the least since it’ll be one of the few we can use to help treat burns.”

Sai nodded her head understanding, given they location she didn’t expect them to hunting for time plus since they were not in the forest it meant that they had less herbs to find there. Hearing the name of the next plant she took a moment to think she remember at one point was she was poisoned by a few times that she had some resistance to it but not enough that she was going to take the chance.
Thanking Zyphire as she took the flask, “Call if somethings happens or you need me. Just because it’s quiet now doesn’t mean it will stay that way.” Heading towards the tree line with flask on her waist and one of her daggers in her hand since it would be easier for her to cut a branch instead of breaking it and end up getting hurt.

Zyphire nodded “Yeah, dont worry too much though i’ll be walking up the river also so we’ll be fairly close still” She said before continuing her search walking through the riverside. She quickened her pace not planning on staying here forever without finding anything, after what seemed to be a few minutes she saw a few feet away what seemed to be the plant she was looking for.
After quickly walking to it she took a look at the flower to make sure it was the one she was looking for, the petals that fell to the roots indicated to her it was the right one. Holding the bottom of the stem she plucked it and opened a second flask as she smiled and extracted the paste from it before throwing the plant out., then continued her search for a few more since one wouldn’t be enough.
Luckily enough she found a few more as she continued to walk towards the gathering of trees, before she decided to go into the forest to follow Sai, at the end the flask was filled about half way with mermaid tears paste before she decided it should last a while before needing more and went to go find Sai.
“Sai are you still here?” Zyphire called out as she slowly walked into the gathering of trees.

Sai had left Zyphire to made her way towards the tree line, walking a bit into the tree line humming a bit to herself until she came upon the tree in question. Even with the leaves of the tree looking like needles it was still a sight to behold it had a sense of peace about it yet even if it looked harmless it wasn’t. Taking out her dagger she stalked the tree looking for a branch that she could cut without it causing much harm to herself.
It took her a few extra minutes before she could find some. Using her dagger, she carefully cut the branch and placed it in the flask, repeating this a few times until she felt that she had enough. Looking down she realized that she had gather about six branches each length of her arm. Heading back to Zyphire she heard the female’s voice before she saw her. Walking up to her she offered a small smile. “I’m still here haven’t die yet.”

“Thats good to hear, Seems like you gathered quite a bit of them haven’t you?” Zyphire saw the branches and the filled flask, “That should last us for some time, hopefully we’d never have to use these though” Zyphire held onto her flask and looked at Sai, “I was able to find the one i was looking for also there seemed to be a fair amount closer to the forest side so filling half the flask was a good find, it helps with burns.” Zyphire said as she reached out to take the flask “Here I can put it on my belt so you wouldn’t have to hold it until we get home”.
“We got what we came here for Sai, but by chance did you want to go and see if theres any animals to hunt? We can bring it back to the children if there is any so we wouldn’t have to spend too much money on food.”

“Yes, it wasn’t too bad.” She said as she slowly handed the flask to Zyphire and being careful of any of the branches that were poking out didn’t scratch either of them since she didn’t know much about healing and she could only do so much with her own healing ability and she wasn’t sure how long she would be able to keep the blue haired female alive in time to take her to the clinic in town. She did scratch the back of her head a bit the idea of hunting didn’t sound bad expect for a few things. She have never hunted an animal in her life or even learned how to properly tan one or even how to preserve the meat. Anytime she had to do a job those were provided for her with normally enough to last the time length it would take for travel to get to the location.
“Zyphire if I’m being honest with you I don’t know how to hunt an animal. People yes I can hunt them but animals not sure how to go about that.” She said a bit nervous since she never told anyone that but then again she did promise herself that she was going to try and be as honest with the people she hired.

“That's good to hear, just make sure you didn’t get pricked. Though you wouldn’t die, you probably would had ended up unconscious for at least 2-3 days.” Zyphire said took the flask from Sai.
“I don’t have much experience hunting animals either, though I have helped others do it on occasions. I preferred gathering but hunting and gathering went hand in hand so i’d have to accompany some people quite frequently. I could explain how to clean the animal but hunting it would be a different story” Zyphire looked at Sai for a second. “If your confident about your weapon throwing we could try. Usually people in my village used bows, but some have used daggers before.” Zyphire wasn’t a pro or even close to that on hunting animals, but she seen enough over her years to be able to copy what others did to skin and clean the animal. Well hopefully. It had been some time but always imitating and remembering everything from sight at a young age, Zyphire wouldn’t mind trying if it could help them get some food.
“Should we try? We’d just have to find some footprints it shouldn’t be too difficult and it wouldn’t hurt us since we’re already here” Zyphire said wondering what Sai would decide.

“Two to three days of sleep wouldn’t be too bad if you think about it.” Sai said teasing a bit since she wasn’t that bad to leave Zyphire alone with the kids for a few days when she was just getting to know them.
Listening to the female she nodded her head at least one of them had some idea of what they were going to do if they did find an animal to take down. Flipping her dagger off her waist and into the air catching it by the grip. She didn’t say anything since she are more than confident with her dagger that she kill and animal just the only thing was that she was nervous about if she killed the animal in a way where it’s meat would be useless. “We can give it a try.”

Zyphire smiled at the mention of a couple days of sleep wouldn’t be too bad. “Well lets find and try to hunt down something first before you try to put yourself to sleep” Walking towards the side Zyphire started to look for tracks. Though it took some time Zyphire was able to find a few animal footprints and slowly started to follow them the best she could “Hey Sai, i think there is at least a deer or two and a rabbit near here” Zyphire said as she continue to follow the tracks slowly moving towards the trees.

Sai followed behind Zyphire being as quiet watching her as she found some tracks, it was amazing to her that someone could track down animals as well as she was able to track down a person. Hearing her mention a deer or rabbit she quickly looked around seeing just in between the trees a deer grazing on some grass. Taking one of her throwing knives she took a simple breath as she adjusted her angle, as soon as the knife left her finger trips she watched the deer look up sensing danger before it would even run away the knife stuck true hitting the deer in it’s neck.
“Well nice to know I can hunt.” She said as she walked up though the trees to where the deer was, she had watched the deer move away from the area only to end up a few feet away laying on the grass. “So how do we do this.” She as she received her knife from the deer, cleaning it off on the grass before placing it back on her belt as she waited for Zyphire.

Zyphire looked at the deer as Sai killed it, “see its not too bad, though killing it is probably the easy part, Mind if i have that dagger? We need to let the blood out then skin it.” After being handed back the Knife, Zyphire would try to imitate what she was told when she was younger, cutting the neck where the vein was she would also nick the skin in the area to remove the fur easier. Afterwards she handed back the knife and stood up moving near the back of the deer she would lift it up “Help me out on this part Sai, we need to keep the wound open and the neck pointing down for the blood to drain.” Afterwards once Sai did help and the blood was fully drained she would put the deer down away from the pool of blood before explaining to Sai what to do, “On the neck there's a cut mark for the skin, just start from there and cut down to the back, then on the legs just loop off the hoofs, then slowly pull the skin. Sorry just you probably have better precision with a dagger than I do, try not to cut into the flesh though or else when you pull the fur, the meat would rip off also, or the remaining blood would get on the fur.” After explaining Zyphire would continue to explain how she was told when she was younger on how to skin the deer.
