It was a strange thing that he had never come across any of the villages which Aria spoke of in the mountains. After all, he had spent most of his life roaming through them with his tribe and he knew that all of his ancestors had grown up in those mighty and unforgiving slopes. They must simply never have crossed paths with any of the settlements or the villagers. After all, Heaven's Pass was a massive place, it was quite possible to spend your entire life there he imagined and still not see all of it or uncover all of its secrets. As such, he was more than prepared to believe that she was telling the truth. "Well, if I ever head back then I'll be sure to look for em'." He didn't know if her interest in the area was genuine or if she was merely trying to be polite.
The question about how they got around amused him somewhat. "Well, in my tribe at least we just walk." He declared gesturing at his feet as if to illustrate the fact that he had a pair. The notion of travelling any other way had initially confused him until he had seen some of the locals riding horses or in the back of carts. "Of course... I can only really talk about my tribe. We're all a little bit different." Perhaps some tribes did ride animals. Given how rare it had been for him to encounter others, he couldn't have said.
The mention of dragons caused him to think back to his time in the mountains. They'd always ran for cover whenever they saw such beasts, afraid that they might be about to swoop down and add a couple of Hyundren to their stomach content. "I remember seeing them." He told her thinking back to it. "I didn't realize anyone was on them though. You can ride those things?"
He really didn't know what to think about Sakai. The man unsettled him more than a little bit. It wasn't the sword, everyone was armed where he came from, so much as his attitude. It caused the young man to wonder where to stand as far as he was concerned. At least he apologized. That was something. "No sweat." Alren raised his hand dismissively as a signal that all was forgiven. He hesitated a moment before adding: "But my name's Alren, not Alrensan."
The rest of what happened between Sakai and Aria he didn't understand. Something about the sword and demons. Alren knew precious little about the latter much past the notion that they were 'bad' and should be avoided at all cost. Just why anyone would dare to cart around a sword which had anything to do with them was beyond him. In his mind, it roughly equated to carrying a venous snake with the hopes that you could throw it at someone before it bit you.
"I hope you don't mind my asking..." He spoke after a few moments, genuinely perplexed. "But if the sword's so dangerous. Why not destroy it? Plenty more sharp things out there you could use."
