Madalyn Onimus
I said "she must be swift and white,
And subtly warm, and half perverse
And sweet like sharp soft fruit to bite,
And like a snake's love lithe and fierce."
Men have guessed worse.

Nickname: Maddie, The Snow Angel, Highness, Sun-in-Shadow, The Summer Queen, Mon Ange du Palais Age: 16 Gender: Female Race: Human Origin: Native Role: Archduchess |
Character Traits
Hair Color/Style: pale snowy locks that flow like liquid silk past her shoulders to the small of her back and frames her face.
Eye color: riveting gray eyes beneath gently arched brows.
Skin Color: Extremly pale, ethereal and snow like
Body Type: A deceptively slight figure, almost overly slender,
Clothing - Detailed Appearance: Her attire is well made, tailored to fit her frame and dyed a soft blue just a shade lighter than her eyes and cinches in at her slim waist only to flare again ever so slightly at her hips and moreso along the curves of her upper body forming and defining her hourglass shape. The material is soft and the skirt moves with her body, each soft rustle swaying with her steps and feet are covered in dainty slippers and sometimes peek out beneath the yards of fabric when she walks.
Personality: The princess, like many teenage girls, is prone to flights of fancy. Her moods and interests vary wildly from day to day, from swooning over a new love, to delving into a new hobby, to moping over some dictate from her mother. She is, however, consistently trusting, kind, and generous, or as her mother would probably say, gullible, foolish, and naive. She can be counted on to be friendly and helpful and holds to the belief that others will be the same, even when to most people it would be clear that they won’t be.
Despite this however, beneath all the apparent frivolity of a spoiled princess, there is a mind honed to a razor sharp edge. A spectacular education, combined with a life being stuck indoors, have gifted the young woman with intelligence rivaling even the oldest scholars, and with that intelligence a deeper and more serious side that can be utilised as necessary.
Likes: Praise, Poetry, Learning New Things, Love Letters, Strength, Family
Dislikes: Sleeping, Pressure, Dismissal, Presumption, Prawns, Excesses of Pride

Biography
History: Our story begins when the eldest imperial princess of the foreign empire of the isles arrives in Nova to wed it's archduke. The arrangment has been there since both were mere babes in their mothers arms, yet their wedding is the first time they meet, and as many marriages go, theirs is a cold and formal one, the marriage bed only warming when pressure for an heir mounts in the Archduchy.
"Then suddenly a young woman rose from the abyss of waters. She was white as snow and radiated some kind of ethereal but warm light. Everyone, whose eyes caught sight of her lowered their weapons immediately. The young woman looked so pure, so innocent, so beautiful, but her eyes, her grey eyes were full of sadness. The blood of victims of the war rippled through her snowy curls and fell on her frosty cheeks, as if she were crying."
Almost the same description can be used to paint the picture of the birth of little Madalyn.
The baby came to the world so silently and unexpectedly. It was only the start of the seventh month, when the first daughter of the Princess Abegayle decided to see the light. The midwife tells, that she have never seen such calm and quiet birth. Maybe the princess just did not feel pain anymore, or maybe the little baby was special. After all, she did not cry at all. She did not greet the world with a loud scream, like most babies. Instead, there was just a few drops of blood rippled across her snowy skin. The midwife tells, that she thought the girl was already dead, but the girl's tiny fists rubbed at her grey eyes. However, there was something very wrong. If you get a gift from the Patrons, you have to pay for it. Madalyn was beautiful, was the image of the heavens themselves but she was weak. People were afraid, that their heir might die any minute.
The girl has always had very sensitive skin, which is afraid of the rays of the sun. The allergy was very intense, and Madalyn barely left the walls of the palace during the day. If she wanted to feel the fresh air, she had to go for a walk, when the sun was hidden under the clouds or was drawn toward the horizon. Even at these moments she always had to have her handmaid and two Guardians beside. Now, she has grown used to all that and learned to cover her whole body in clothes, not leaving even an inch of bared skin, except her face. Only her pale face features are not afraid of the light.
While her physical weakness disappointed the princess , Abegayle Onimus, it was not the princess's only shortcoming in her mother's eyes. The little Princess is a true philanthropist. In spite of being so fragile herself, she still wants to help the entire world. Maybe that is what makes all these common people so proud and loving of their heir, but at the same time, she has become quite an easy target for enemies, especially since, Madalyn is not only generous but very gullible as well. She believes that everyone around her is good and never lie, everyone can be trusted, and everyone has a heart as good and kind as Madalyn herself. A princess, let alone a future archduchess, can't treat everyone as equal partners, as trusted allies. The world is not the colorful dream of the little child! Sadly, Madalyn is just such a little child and the archduchess can't be proud of her daughter. It doesn't matter, that she is the image of heaven.
Proud or not, Madalyn's mother tries to do everything she can to get her daughter to see what the real world is like. The best tutors, ones taught the Archduke himself, are now teaching the young heir. It was through this last desperate act of the Archduchess in which Madalyn finally earned her place as heir. For all the time she was locked in doors, forced to admire the world through her bedroom window, she read, learned, studied whatever book she could grasp with her tiny hands. Desperate, feverish, and yet digesting it all with an intelligence that could only be naural to her young mind. The Archduchess could no longer write her daughter off as an entire dissapointment, but rather smart enough to run the Archduchy when the time came. If only she stop being so kind and foolish with those around her.
Unfortunately the time for Madalyn to take the reigns as archduchess. When the young heir and princess is but sixteen her father takes ill and she is forced to step up as regent and that regency turns into an inheritance when her father soon passes and her mother dons black, now, still just barely out of childhood, madalyn finds herself saddled with responsibilities she is not quite sure she is prepared for, and petrified as to what the future might bring next.
