Adventuring Party 3-To Defeat a Mad Goddess

the smell of ash and sulfur would be thick in the air, Aqua would find that flying above a certain point would prove to be difficult with the black ash clouds blocking out the sun. In the clearing that surrounded morgg's castle; the tree’s were dead and struck black from becoming chard. Little to no vegetation around for what looked to be about a mile.

Aqua from above could see charred corpse scattered all about the stretch of open land leading up to the castle. Even just outside the groups hiding spot, the stench of rotting flesh carried. As Aqua flew around: She would see something very surprising; The corpses that were once lifeless, now became animated and moved across the clearing at a moderately medium pace. She would also see a few clusters of undead headed towards another direction.

If Aqua was quick; She would also catch that just outside the area the Group had decided to wait; Six charred bodies begun to stir and animate to be on their feet. Meanwhile; back in the group. Near Kail where he was leaning up against a rock; A ‘thump’ of heavy foot steps could be heard drawing closer to the group. If kail were to turn around and look behind the rock; He would see a middle aged woman with arrows sticking out of her chest.

She stumbled forward, Her movements staggered as she hunched over to clutch her chest where the arrows stuck out. The blood on her tunic and around the arrows were dried and caked black. " Hel...Hel" she kept repeating in a gurgled voice, the blue in her eyes slowly beginning to be taken over by a change, the pupils inked over consuming her eyes in pure black. "Hel….Hel..Helena will prevail." the obviously woman hissed out in a gurgled tone, her speed picking up in a half haggard fashion while she screamed. Her scream alerting the other five corpses to ‘haggardly’ head to the group's location.

She stopped in mid air shocked at all of the death near the castle. "this is....?" she said covering her mouth in shock, many people had warned her what Helena had been doing as of late but, seeing it in person was much worse than hearing tales of it.

as aqua begins her descent from the air back towards the group, she noticed something behind Killian. It was a monster..? No it was a humanoid.. and going for killian! "KAIL, BEHIND YOU!" She screamed out to him hoping he heard it. She took out her spear and enlarged it to it's full size. She was now rapidly descending towards the corpse ready to kill it in one shot. She used the speed of her descent to increase her striking strength and focused on aiming and landing without hurting herself or at least softening the blow it would have on her body. when she landed on the corpse, the ground around her group shook a bit and dirt and dust flew up covering her and the follower of Helena and aqua, a few seconds after she lands, aqua immediately jumps out of the dust cloud she created and is still in an offensive position while spinning the spear around her body. As the dust cleared the head of the follower that was aiming for kail was cleanly cut off and the body was frozen in place.

"There's 5 more coming, the majority of them are headed towards something else, I was not able to find out where or why however." She said in her monotone voice used for fighting. as the dust clears from the follower of Helena regardless of the strike landed or not, the area around it and parts of the body would be frozen from the ice gem embedded in aqua's spear. "If she doesn't have many forces on this side of the castle she must have something ready to stop us from entering so lets be ready."

As she prepared for a fight she began to channel a small amount of water from her bangle and hummed to keep it in mid air, ready to use it for any purpose she would require of it

Arthas watched as Aqua took out the undead that had popped up near him shaking his head a little bit. At least she picked up how to use momentum in combat the flourishes were wasted energy especially on opponents that were not going to be easily distracted. As she informed them that there were more moving towards him he drew his sword to be ready for combat that was clearly coming.

"I guess that takes care of one and well that means there will be more as we get closer to the castle. At least these are slow moving for now." He would move with the group once they started to move and was keeping his distance to each of them relatively similar just in case.

Iris's nose really hurt. Like. Really hurt. The scent was growing thicker with every step, every second that went by, and it was driving her bonkers. She had a hand raised up over her face, but Gods knew that didn't do shit with a goat's sense of smell. Iris swung her head around, hearing the ragged breathing just before Aqua started shouting. Iris drew her sword, watching as Aqua took down the first corpse, nodding in approval. Girl was stronger than she looked.

As the other five stumbled forward, Iris agreed with Aqua. There's no way she doesn't have all of her entrances heavily guarded. No matter what, we're really in for it. Try to save as much energy as you can. Iris gave her two cents. She stood facing the gaggle of stumbling targets, waiting for them to get close enough that she could strike out at them.

Kail was rather alert and heard some motion behind him and casually picked up his Mana Railgun as well as hearing Aqua calling out to him. He then whips around about to fire off a shot with his Mana Railgun, but it seemed that she dragoon dived on the thing. And taking it out in one shot with her spear. "You do realize I could have taken care of it? Eh no matter" he said and just shruged off on that. He then had a slightly comical dire look on his face "I hate runners....but yeah she more then likely has a zombie giant or something. Although with this twisted bitch she might havve a zombie dragon at one of these entrances" he said casually and walked forward at just a normal waling speed. He switches the railgun to his left hand and then draws his hidden short sword from his shield. As one of the shambling corpses comes walking up. His right wrist glows red as several fire gems activate. Turning the short sword red hot and almost being on fire from the power of three firegems. He first slashes across the zombie's midsection and then brings his sword quickly above his head slashing down. Performing a cross slash utterly cutting the zombie to peices.

"Aqua, take us to the closest entrance you saw. We will go from there" for the three of them there. It seemed that this was just almost a walk in the park for the blond. Once they would get to the entrance though, he would think of the next move to get in. If the zombie's were moving to another area. It was more then likely another group was going in guns blazing. Which was fine with him, as that group would be the distraction that they might have needed.

Once all the Corpses were killed and the group began walking towards the entrance, they would begin to feel hotter and more sluggish as they continued forward, From afar on top of the castle walls an Eye of Hel could be seen holding onto a large scale about 2 feet long. And a orb in the other hand that seemed to rotate on its own. He looked at the group from afar with a wicked grin. The pressure and heat would continue to increase slowly as the group got closer and closer to the castle.

The closer they got to the castle the easier it would be for the group to figure out something was wrong, how the temperature seemed to to have rose suddenly compared to when they first reached the Morgg and it took almost all their effort to not drag their feet in an effort to move. The wind seemed to be pushing down on them causing the heat waves to be visible.

“Fools who dared defy the will of our Goddess. I , Zephyr. Judge you guilty and sentence you to burn for all eternity!” Once Zephyr said his part the mirage of a scale would show in front of the castle.

Aqua glanced at kail for a moment then looked forward again with a grin "Im sure you could have but, its better safe then sorry." she grinned "besides I've been waiting for my chance to go all out." she said while keeping her gaze on the zombies. She watched as kail decimated a zombie with ease. She was impressed, he seemed more capable then she previously thought, which was silly of her since she knew he was a champion for fate, they dont just hand out that position to people. "Alright, the closest entrance for us seems to be this way, lets move guys." She would lead them to the side entrance since it was the closest and seemed like the best option. Aqua would channel some water and keep it on her back as wings so she could use it quickly should need arise.

-After the other corpses were killed-

Once the corpses were dead aqua narrowed her eyes and looked at the castle for a moment, however it proved to be difficult to continue to move forward, the intense heat was starting to get to her, she would use her hands to wipe the sweat off of her head and put it into her wings, it wasnt exactly the most ideal situation but she needed as much water as she could get her hands on if she was going to be useful to her group. "Hey...i understand this place is a volcano...but.. does this seem natural to you all?" she said while breathing really hard. Hey who or what in the hell is that? narrowing her eyes and pointing her finger at the Eye of Hel. 

After zephyr made his speech it was obvious he was this "Zombie dragon" or this boss that was defending the flank of her castle. "Welp here's that boss you were talking about Kail. What are your orders?" she would wait with her spear out, preparing to morph her wings into whatever kail would need, being a princess she was not used to taking orders, but if it was from someone close to her like kail she would follow whatever he said to the best of her abilities.

This heat wasn't natural and from the speech just given that thing needed to die again as it was apparently causing this. He shook his head and moved forward, "And what gives you the right to pass judgement on those who don't even follow the same goddess as you? We don't serve her thus her laws for her followers do not apply to us nor did we agree to submit to the judgement of some fanatic of a crazed Goddess." While he shouldn't be taunting the enemy that seemed to be their biggest obstacle right now he had no issue taking aggro for now to give the others a chance to flank it or figure out a way to counteract the heat it was generating. He just hoped they wouldn't waste the chance he was trying to give them, the heat itself wasn't going to stop him since he was used to fighting mages and well this guy reminded him of a fire mage he had faced on a few occasions though he doubted this one would run away once he started to lose the advantage. Something told him this one would act more like a wounded or cornered animal when pushed far enough.

Iris snorted lightly. Dragon Zombie. If that's the case, I can safely say I've seen it all. As they began walking Iris noticed those around her slowing down. It took her longer to feel the exhaustion as her system was stronger than theirs, but once she felt it, it was like her body was made of lead. When Aqua questioned it Iris glanced over, pushing her now sweat matted hair away from her face. No, I dont think so. I've been around a few volcano's and unless the ones on Earth are vastly less hot than Nova's, we shouldn't be feeling this heat yet... Someone's playing with us. She turned forward again, needing to preserve her energy.

When a voice called out to them, Iris sighed. That was probably who was fucking with them. She glanced at Arthas with his little outburst with an arched brow, but didn't say anything. Its not that he was wrong, more so... how was that going to help? She blinked and looked over to Aqua as she asked Kail what his plan was. Another snort left her; Kail was their mighty leader... Yeah. Okay. Yeah Sir Killian Lancaster, what are your orders? Iris bowed her head, a playful grin on her face; she loved taking serious situations and making them fun, even if only for herself.

Kail could feel the heat and it was not normal unless they were getting very close to lava. As they got closer there would be a mage on the ramparts. Kail had to have a chuckle as the Eye of Hel was going a meglomaniac level of casting judgement on the group. The blond was looking around for anything that they could use to there advantage and did not want to waste too much energy on this guy. But at the same time though this guy was a mage either fire or wind. Since the heat was rather intense and he had to activate one of his fire gems to cut down on the heat. But had a feeling this guy was using heated air and was not sure how to deal with him. With both Aqua and then Iris asking for orders he was going to keep things simple and flexible. "Ok everyone spread out, if you find an opening to take him out or disable him, take it. I'm gona keep this guys attention on to me. I have protection from the heat. Even then if we spread out he will have way too many targets to try and go after" he said and started to walk closer to the wall.

"HEY ASSHAT! HOW IS HELENA THESE DAYS AFTER I CLIPPED HER WINGS? TELL HER I SAID HELLO AND I'VE COME FOR THE OTHER PAIR! HER FEATHERS MADE SOME NICE ARMOR AND THERE RATHER NICE LOOKING IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF" he called and taunted the Eye of Hel as in the last part he flipped the bird at the Eye of Hel. Letting the left gauntlet's middle finger grow a extended claw to empasise the point to the guy. This was slightly reckless but they needed more info and see how he would react and attack. Plus even then today he would see how far there luck would be today though.

Zephyr looked at the man who called out, after hearing his taunt Zephyr was furious “YOU, THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INJURIES TO OUR GODDESS, YOU SHALL PAY WITH YOUR LIFE” He waved the orb up before visible spirals of extremely heated air would continue to fill the sky above Killian. The wind pressure would increase as well almost anchoring them to the ground. “Goodbye foolish human, you should had never came here” Just as Zephyr was going to bring his hand down and have the spirals barrage Killian he saw a change in manna with his third eye and made the spirals vanish.

Zephyr began laughing before leaving a message “you fools, the end is coming, none of you can stop it instead I’ll give you the chance to come and watch as our goddess releases the Deyu and bring destruction upon your kingdom.” With that said the temperature seems to drop quickly back it its normal temperature as Zephyr retreated back into the castle.

-before arriving at the castle-
Aqua eyes went blank and her expression was emotionless. she jumped forward towards the other zombie's using her wings to keep her momentum going one by one she would effortlessly slice off their heads with simple motions. "Well that was relatively easy.. I doubt it will but lets hope it stays that way."

-Back at the castle-

"Earth?" aqua eye's lit up when iris mentioned earth. "So people from earth did come to nova.." She added while breathing hard from exhaustion. This heat was taking a toll on aqua she however continued to push forward to not be a burden to her team

Aqua watched zephyr really closely, his way of speaking was giving himself away. judging us guilty? scales. it was obvious that his magic was relating to the symbol of Libra. finally, knowing info from earth actually helped her for once. "Hey guys i think his magic is-" Before aqua could finish her sentence, the wind pressure kept her in place, there was no way she could try to follow killian's orders, she was stuck. She thought quick on her feet and grabbed the closest person next to her which turned out to be iris and began to manipulate her wings "summon: chains!" as the words left her lips, aqua's wings became chains and she grabbed onto iris by putting both hands around her waste "hang on.". The chains shot out of aqua's tattoo to a nearby rock to pull aqua and iris to safety. 

After zephyr decided to not attack, aqua turned her chains back into wings to keep herself mobile and let go of iris. "I would have bought you dinner first before grabbing you like that but I think making sure we got out of there was more important" she jested after seeing that zephyr decided to halt his attack.

After the joke aqua coughed for a moment and continued her previous statement before she was interrupted  "As i was trying to say before it became apparent, it seems our opponent was using using wind magic, and some powerful magic to be precise, I think its related to that orb he was using "

Iris nodded. Yeah why? Is that where you're from? Iris asked, throwing a glance over her shoulder. I'm from apparently Ancient times according to blondie over here. So either way I doubt you'd know much about my time. She shrugged, bringing her attention back forward once more. She narrowed her eyes as Kail told them to spread out and take a shot if they got it. She doubted she would be of any help there, given that she didn't use magic, and he was definitely too far away for her sword.

Suddenly wind was everywhere, but before she had time to react, she was being pulled back by something with a tight grip on her. Panicked at first, she pulled against it, but throwing another glance over her shoulder, she relaxed seeing it was Aqua. Sorry about that. Magic freaks me out. She spoke as Aqua put her arms around Iris waist, but despite the many comments coming to mind, she remained quiet, at least for the moment. Luckily enough, when Aqua released her, she beat her to the punch line. Iris rose both brows, a grin slowly reaching her face. She threw an arm over her shoulder again, hugging the girl sideways. You're fucking great. Never change kid. She laughed, releasing her and going back into serious mode. Well that was short lived. She stared at the spot the man had been standing before he retreated indoors. Let's get inside while we can.

Kail had slightly miss calulated when the Eye of Hell had used that orb as a massive heated air on all of them to hold them down. And it seemed that Aqua had came to the same conclusion that he did. She was also getting Iris out of the way from the air hold that was keeping them down. But since it was the heat that was holding them down, the blond just activated the fire gems to negate the heat around him. He was going to take aim with his ranged weapon. But it seemed something had changed and the man up there was going to let them in. "......I'm sorry I thought my gambit would work. Knowing how zealious these people that worship Helena I thought that they would come after me. Get them distracted while you guys get them. I will be more careful as we go in" he said and did feel sorry that he almost got all of them wiped out. "Agreed,
but get ready for a ambush. A psycho does not let one to enter his home without getting through several guard dogs. Weapons ready though" said the blond as he placed his railgun on another holster for his weapon.

He switched to his lightning blade and drew it along with keeping his shield ready and braced for anything. Kail going in first as he was a bit more armored and if mages tried to blow them away. He would be able to counter them at least.

The path to the castle was fairly peaceful after Zephyr left, besides from the occasional corpses that would appear and try to attack them there was not much else. Once they reached the Gate it would open as if waiting for the adventurers to arrive. Inside the castle there would be two doors to the left and to the right. In front of them would be what seemed to be a discolored wall with what seems like bumps around the area. On closer inspection they would see body parts fused with the wall. The entire wall was made with corpses.
