Problems with a new world [Tag: Selky/Open]

[Nyx]

Nyx did not hear what Selkiris had since she was already asleep. The dreamscape she was in started to form slowly around her before it settled in on a small home in the country. It was peaceful until it changed to a inside of the house, it was thrown in chaos, furniture was broken, the curtains were torn loud arguing could be heard a woman came out as she got closer she saw that it was herself but older and judging from things it looked like she was pregnant, it would have been a sweet image if the place did not look like a mess. Soon a man came out with trundles on his back that looked like tentacles wearing robes and it hit her this was an older Selky but it look liked she lost him to the abyss.



Nyx watched as her older self ran out the house crying, following herself she saw that was going to what looked like a small graveyard with five graves in total though all the graves were small as if meant for a child. Watching herself fall down before the graves crying it finally hit her, this wasn’t first child that the two were having together, and based on all the grave sizes it seemed like none of the children made it beyond their first year.



It was heartbreaking as she watched the dream progress, and made her wonder if this was what a possible life with Selkiris was going to be like. Tears started to fall down her cheeks not wanting this possible future to happen. She wasn’t sure if she could go through what her future self was going through, but she prayed that this little glimpse into the future wasn’t going to come true since the future was ever changing. Waking up with in a cold sweat she looked at Selkiris, her fingers brush through his hair. “I promise I wouldn’t let you fall into the abyss completely.” placing a kiss on his cheek before she went back to sleep.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris happily trudged through his own dream. Unaware of the horrible torture that Nyx went through. Everything seemed perfect....which is what scared him. Something had to be wrong, something was off. It just couldn't have been like this. This was just....too happy. The gods had cursed him for so many years why would they stop then. Then he saw it. He had seen a small glipse of it. He saw his older version on himself seemingly hide his right hand from view, until now. As he viewed the hand he only saw darkness. Patches of darkness seemed to just cover the hand, and then he saw the index finger. For some reason it had been missing. There was no finger there, instead only a sharp claw like pointer. Selkiris sighed. He realized that his path would plague him no matter what path the future had for him. It would make its mark one day. And he couldn't stop that.

[Nyx]

As the next dreamscape started to form Nyx could not help but think about the one before and wonder what else could happen in the future she knew that was one outcome but could she handle anything worst. Finally the dream settled in and it was worst than the first one the ground around the house was charred black, the house at least looked nice it was a two story house but it was in complete darkness. The place was something she have never seen before she could only guess that this might be the abyss since there were no signs of life anywhere, not even light in the sky or from any of the windows.



The dream wasn’t look hopeful at all, floating through the house only to stop when she came upon a room that looked like a throne room. There were two thrones and upon the larger one was a man that looked like the Selkiris from the dream before, next to him was a woman holding a baby that she did not recognize that was until the woman looked up and she saw the eyes. That was her, but everything about her was darker, floating closer she looked at her. Her hair was pitch black like a raven’s feather, her skin was pale that made her almost looked like a vampire, her eyes that one shone with light was now darker and her normal happy smile was gone.



She could not believe this, somehow along the way Selky pulled her into the abyss and with both of them combine it looked like they took over and became king and queen. This was too dark, this was horrible she couldn’t even cry as she looked on the only thing that brought her some joy in this dream was that they had a child that lived in this one. Nyx couldn’t take it any more she was about to leave the dream when her future self looked up at her, the eyes were sad almost as if she was there.



Waking up once again in a cold sweat, looking at Selkiris she was scared to go back to sleep. The last two dreams were horrible and she wasn’t sure if she could handle another dream but she knew that her body needed rest if she was to going to feel better. Wrapping her arm around Selkiris she pulled him closer to her this time moving his head to rest on her chest, trying to relax a bit as she tried to sleep but knew that it would be useless.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris happily continued his dream, as the family did their day to day activities. It was actually quiet amusing to watch the little kids run around all hyper active. The older Nyx was caring for a crying babe all mother-like while Selkiris chopped up some firewood. Meanwhile the little kids continuously tried to get their parents to play with them, trying to pull at their clothes with their tiny hands. Selkiris laughed.....he felt all warm and happy. But something nagged at him, something still didn't feel right. Something was pulling him awake. He fluttered his eyes open, seeing nothing but flesh. Selkiris looked up to see Nyx's head above him. He spoke to her confused. "N-Nyx? Are you alright?"

[Nyx]

Nyx was crying as she tried to get the dreams out of her head, or maybe there were not dreams maybe there were possible visions of the future. She rarely ever got dream vision of the future and most of them this time involved Selkiris and the Abyss. “I’m… okay…. Just…” Taking a moment try and compose herself. “I saw our future…” Fresh tears started to fall a few drops falling onto Selkiris as she held him closer to her chest she did not want any of those possibilities to happen. “It was…. It was dark… you…. You were lost to the abyss…. We tried six times… our first five died…. I don’t why…. But I think….” More hot tears rolled down her cheeks this time coming down harder. “I think… you caused it….”

[Selkiris]

Selkiris listened to her dreams, a deep frown on his face. He couldn't believe what he had heard. She had to go through something so painful. He couldn't believe it at all. He cried softly, but for another reason. A reason he said to Nyx. "Im......only going to cause you pain?" He never showed this much emotion to Nyx before. Never before had he ever cried to her before. This is anything would show Nyx that he had feelings for her. If he cried just knowing that he would only cause her pain then it was obvious that he had feelings for her. There was really no way to hide it anymore. He continued to cry, hugging Nyx tightly. He didn't want to let go of her, fearing that it would only make things worse.

[Nyx]

“Not you… but… the future you… well the future… abyss you…” Nyx held on to Selkiris not wanting to let him go. She felt his tears on her skin at least this meant that he had to have some feelings for her if he was crying at the possibility of causing her pain the future. At this moment she wished that she did not have the gift to see the future, she wished that she was just a normal girl in love with a boy. She wished that Selky just a normal human that might liked her like how liked him but life was not like that at all. Thinking back to the second dream, “You… you ruled the abyss…. My other version…. You were king…”

[Selkiris]

Selkiris listened to what Nyx spoke of and he lightly shook his head. "No....I would never be king of the Abyss. It would be betraying my master plus...it would be torture. They have the definition of cutthroat politics. Once you become king everyone with power is your enemy. You will be constantly challenged for the throne and if you are beaten you will then be consumed, and become one with your successor. I am afraid to ask.....but what else happened in this dream of yours Nyx?" He was afraid of what she might say next. It only seemed to get worse the more the tale progressed. But he needed to know. And maybe prevent it from happening.

[Nyx]

“In this one… you were king… but you were….” Tears flowed as she remember how he had looked, her Selkiris looked like he belonged to the Abyss and that the he belonged on that throne. “The first dream…” Nyx wiped away some of the tears before hugging Selkiris once again as she slowly began to tell him of her dreams. Closing her eyes as she told him every detail of her first dream from how the house had looked on the outside and inside. To how the furniture was all broken, she even when into detail about how happy she was when she saw that she was pregnant with their child, to how she felt scared when she saw him. Taking a moment to compose herself as she told him in details how his future self had looked.



Looking at Selky giving him a moment before she continued, telling him the rest of the dream. About the graves how she was crying, to how at times he was clouded in darkness. How her future self seem to be scared of them any time he came to close when he was shadowed completely in darkness.



“The second dream….” Taking a moment before she started retelling him the second dream where he was king of the Abyss, with her at his side. Her eyes darken a bit as she told him how her future self became part of the abyss as well as his queen. Her eyes did light up a bit when she mentioned that they had did have a living child in this vision. “Selky…. I don’t… want to… I mean…” Hugging him as tight as she could as she tried push those visions out of her mind.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris listened to her as she told him all about her dreams. He seemed to be right when he thought that it would only get worse as she progressed further. She held onto to him and he clung onto her for dear life. He spoke softly, not know what he would say. "Nyx I....I don't know if I should even be around you anymore. It just seems like I am causing you pain and suffering. I don't want that for you. You are a great person and you don't deserve that." Even though he said he shouldn't be around her he couldn't help but stay close to her. He nuzzled her cheek, terrified.

[Nyx]

“It’s… it’s just a vision…. The future…. Future isn’t written in stone….” Nyx did not want to Selkiris to leave her life. He brought those small joys to her life plus, she didn’t know what she would do if he wasn’t in her life, she liked to argue and fight with him. Plus he was her prince of darkness she couldn’t allow him to just disappear out of her life because of a few dreams. “Selky… do you think…. That you would… I mean if the Abyss…” She wasn’t sure if she could maybe just maybe she would be able to keep him from become fully part of the abyss and keep that future from happening.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris sighed, happy that she didn't want him to leave her. To be completely honest he never wanted to leave her, but of course the dreams made him feel like he need too. But....she was right in saying the future wasn't set in stone so there was the possibility that this wouldn't happen. "Well I must be honest with you Nyx, the abyss is going to take its debt no matter what happens. It takes its toll on anyone who uses its power. But I am sure it will not be that bad Nyx. I will not let it get that bad. I swear to you." Selkiris held her hand firmly and looked at her, trapped in her ocean eyes.

[Nyx]

“Promise… promise me that… you wouldn’t lose yourself…. If not for you then… for…” Nyx looked into his eyes. “Then for your sister.” And for me she added silently. Looking away from his eyes knowing that if she continued to look in them that she would get lost in his stormy blue eyes and would never escape. Still she couldn’t help that she felt like she belonged in his arms, that this was where she belong.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris nodded to her silently, only saying " I promise." While he hugged her. She was just so warm and soft and it was so nice to be around her. He murmured something incomprehensible as he brought her in a close as possible. He smiled and nuzzled her again. He didn't want to let go of her, he couldn't let go of her. It didn't feel right to let go of her yet.

[Nyx]

Nyx closed her eyes knowing that a moment like this might not come again with Selky willing holding on her not wanting to let go. Relaxing she nuzzled him back happy and content in that moment. In that moment of feeling completely content she fell back into a light sleep this time no dreams that were plagued of darkness, or her beloved Selkiris being completely lost to her in the Abyss or of him being the future being king and her life being completely sad and lonely even if she was by his side.
