“That sounds weird, I’m not sure why people would pay to buy other people’s hair like that but hey at least it you were able to make some money off of it.” After asking if Sai any questions and reaching the door to the orphanage Zyphire looked up “I’m a Dark Elf and I don’t mind its not anything too special or secretive anyways.” Once they opened the door there would be a few kids and ran to us. “Hey everyone, we’re back. Though let Sai move a bit, we found some food for everyone tonight so be good” After Zyphire said that she would help Sai reach the kitchen to place the meat down.

“People are strange mostly humans but as long as I get some money from it was worth.” Hearing that she was a Dark elf was interesting, she was under the impression dark elves had a more darker shape of hair; here in front of here was one who wasn’t anything like she was use to. “Well I don’t know much about dark elves so I wouldn’t mind if you teach me.”
Entering the orphanage she smiled at the kids, she was happy that they were welcoming to Zyphire and herself. It was sweet as she, doing her best to ruffle some of the children’s hair before they allowed them head inwards the kitchen. Looking around she didn’t see Taya most likely she was outside with the other children leaving them free roam of the kitchen. “Hm… What do you think we should make for dinner?”

“Thats true enough, especially with the orphanage and what you do, money would help. Hmm I wouldn’t mind teaching you about dark elves though maybe next time. The kids would probably rush us as we went in”
Smiling as the kids moved towards them she played with some of their hair as she told them to let Sai and herself move towards the kitchen “Hmm how about a stew with the deer? It would be the best way to cook the deer to make sure all the kids would be able to get some as well. Do we have enough carrots and potatoes?” Zyphire said as she helped lower the deer onto the floor and started chopping the carcass to equal pieces.

“We should.” She said as she quickly went and checked the cellar, coming back up with a small carte that had potatoes and carrots. Placing them on the counter she quickly washed them before she started to peel and cut them up. “Do you think we should try and preserve some of the meat since I don’t think we are going to use all of it right now?”

“Yeah we should preserve some since this is still a large amount” Zyphire went to the shelves and checked for salt, finding a fair amount she smiled as she took it out and put it on the table as well “Hey Sai? After this we may need more salt, I’m pretty sure we’re almost out.” Zyphire said as she started putting salt on the Deer to start the preserving and curing process.

“I’ll add it to the list. Anything else we might be low on?” Sai said as she continued to peel the potatoes. All the while she was wondering when did she fall into this ease where she can talk with another adult so relax and openly minus Alkeir and even then she wasn’t this at ease with him. Looking at Zyphire from the corner of her eye as she started to preserving process, it might be because the children seem to take to her with ease and then the small hunting trip today helped her feel like she can truly trust her.
“Zyphire just out of curiosity have you ever wanted a family?” Her eyes remind on the woman’s face but mostly her eyes for any small sign of what she might be thinking when it came to the simple question.

“ I don’t think so, Besides from maybe a few optional spices which I can probably just find outside the town it doesn’t look like we’re missing anything important.” Zyphire said happily as she continued to salt the deer, She was getting used to this life and she enjoyed it as much as when she was with her master at the village. Unknown to her Zyphire’s speech wasn’t rough or seemed as if she was still hesitant or closed off. She enjoyed staying here with Sai. “ Well, over here I wouldn’t mind having a family, its peaceful compared to my Hometown. Though i’ll think about starting one later on, I rather have all of this work out first” Zyphire looked at Sai and smiled, unknown of Sai would had noticed Zyphire was more relaxed at the orphanage. Being able to do what she liked and had someone she could talk to.

Sai only nodded her head hearing that minus a few spices that were not important they didn’t need to add much else to list. “Hm… if we don’t have enough salt we could try smoking the meat.” She said taking a moment to look watch Zyphire before turning back to her own task.
She saw the way that seem more relaxed around her compared to when they first met it was nice to see. It was something she gave credit to the children for they seem to make even cold hearted people like herself relax around them and be more of themselves. “Well if you ever want to you could adopt one of the littles ones. I am sure none of them would mind having you as a mother.”

“We could though it might be dangerous doing that espeically with the children around us, if we can find a place they wouldn’t be able to touch then it would be simplier to smoke the meat since it would take some time and attention to do correctly” Zyphire said remembering in her past when she would watch a few of the hunters taught the kids on how it should be done though they weren’t allowed to actually do it until they got a bit older.
“Maybe, though for now since i’m still staying here adopting one right now wouldn’t make a major difference since nothing would actually change now. I was thinking maybe opening a small business later on for making potions of all types, hopefully it would help bring some income for the place” Zyphire said as she finished up curing the rest of the meat

“We could consider making a smoker outside maybe place a high enough fence around it so that the children don’t touch it. Or we could just teach them not to touch it.” Sai said considering it since if they are going to do some hunting now and again then maybe them investing in making a smoker wouldn’t be a horrible idea since it would help keep the meat if they ended up hunting big like the fawn again. Turning to look at the doorway at the children playing she smiled a bit knowing that maybe one of them might be responsible enough for them to leave guarding the smoker when they have to be away for hours.
“That is true but if you ever did then I would be fine with it.” Hearing about the her starting a business it wasn’t a bad idea and it would generate a more steady income for the orphanage. “Well if you need any help or start up funds for the store just let me know I will support you on this.”

“We should do both, the smoker still is of a fairly high temperature and the smell of food would always be there for some time. The older kids would listen but it would be difficult to keep an eye on all of them especially if there's company or if one of us was away for a couple hours” Zyphire said as she thought of how they should even come up with the money for a smoker. “Would we be able to afford one in the first place Sai? From what I know we don’t have much right now”
“Thank you Sai, it means a lot. Though for the time being its just a dream for later. I still need to go foraging for herbs, hopefully we can try to grow some here, if not then some spices or vegetables if possible. Once it picks up it could be a bit more than just a apothecary though I would still need to see how it should all be done.” Zyphire said with a smile since she wouldn’t mind the help though it would take quite a large amount and for now she rather learn more of what she would actually need.
“Everything seems to be set. Though later on we may have to go hunting again. If possible Id prefer going to a place filled with herbs so we can gather them for concoctions and to use in cooking. Did you want to come with me next time as well Sai?”

“Well we could always have the older kids watch the younger ones and make sure that they don’t get burnt. I don’t want you to have to end up treating unnecessary injuries.” Sai said looking down realizing that she finish peeling the potatoes. Slowly start started to cut and dice them so that they would cook quicker and fully in the stew. “I should have enough for us to get a small one by next month doing a few odd jobs around town. Though making sure that the children are properly clothed and fed is more important.”
“You are welcome and the offer still stands for the future when you are ready. If we can not grow them here then I can call in some favors and have someone else grow them for us and deliver them when ready.” Since Zyphire was doing so much for her she didn’t mind pulling favors and get someone to do something for them just to make it easier for them.
“I wouldn’t mind coming with you next time as well. Though it would depend I plan to apply as a civilian guard and if I get accepted I might not be able to go on hunting trips with you as often but at least it means we would have a steady income.”

“True, though it might take some time. We can get the smoker later on when we have the funds. I’ll try to see if i can forage enough to sell a bit.” Zyphire said as she moved the meat that was curing to the side so there was some more room. “Thank you Sai, for the offer and for everything, being here is fun. Watching the kids and all” Deciding that she might have to take up the offer later on Zyphire decided first she would need to get used to foraging and learn about the herbs that would be around the area first.
“Thats no problem Sai, just be careful being a guard, I know its not really the ideal job to do, especially if you have a lot that you care about” Zyphire said nicely though she disliked the idea due to her past. Those that worked for a central power were either exploited or exploited others. Zyphire hoped neither one happened to Sai.

“I know it’s not ideal but I can’t keep doing what I am doing since it’s not a steady income.” Sai looked at the doorway once again seeing the children. “They deserve to not worry about me when I leave that I might not ever come back.”

Zyphire looked at Sai “Yeah, I understand. Especially after what those kids must have been through at least they deserve something” Zyphire said in a disappointed tone. Though she did see Sai as a friend she knew that working for a central power never ends well. “I’ll try to help you when I can. If I do get a store running and it goes well you might be able to just leave the guards also.” Zyphire thought for a second “Hmm though if I got a shop me and the kids would need a body guard when we go gathering around the city” Laughing at it slightly “during that time you wouldn’t mind guarding us would you?”
Zyphire wondered when the last time she had this much fun talking to a person. After thinking a bit more on what her past was she realized something “Hey Sai, instead of a apothecary to just sell concoctions, potions and anything else. How about a Clinic in the third district? It’ll cost quite a bit more but it could help the district itself more. We would have a better income, and hopefully have more higher quality medical supplies in stock through most of the year for anything that happens to you or the kids.
