Serenity rowed, wishing she had more wine, not to endure the girl, but to make her arms less tired. They had barely started, and already her arms were beginning to feel like limp noodles. She did her best to not let it show however, not wanting to seem weaker than she probably already did to Sai. She heard her words, and thought them over. Could they have things in common? Well, she already knew that they had a similar view on themselves, both confidant with what they looked like, both sassy, which was probably what made them so aggravated with the other.
But what else could their be? In Serenity's eyes, they seemed so different. She was prim, proper and well mannered, while to her, Sai looked obnoxious, far to out spoken, and arrogant. She didn't know this, but to someone else, they probably acted exactly the same.
When asked a question, Serenity turned her eyes back to Sai, surprising a shudder at seeing her face once more, formed into Sai's body. It was simply odd. She didn't like it.
Well, I don't know. You tried to run before our evening started. After that, well, we don't seem to get along now do we? She wasn't saying the Goddess did something wrong- but she had a feeling it was them. They were too stubborn to see past each others masks, and to arrogant to let their own down. They were just too alike.

Sai still wasn't sure if the Goddess made the right decision. So yes she did try to leave the date before it even started but that was because she only had put her name down as a joke, also she didn't take too kindly to being drugged. Still based on that they really didn't really have anything in common, while The Girl was more expressive of her emotions she didn't show them as much.
"I was drug by the Goddess before ending up in the gardens. Being drug isn't my way to start an evening. I would rather have had the pull that other feel and be teleported to the garden." Maybe the Goddess wasn't wrong in pairing them together but she didn't have to go about putting them together by the means that she used.
"As for us not getting along. I think it was a given, most people hope to be a match with someone they can settle down with. Not friendship as I think she was going for with us." It was true, all the young ladies and men did hope that the Goddess matched them with someone who after the date would continue to court them. After all, it was what the holiday was all about.
Looking up at The Girl, she could tell a little that she was starting to get a little tired. She stop rowing and reached for The Girl's oar, she could row them both to closer to shore before it became too much for her arms. "If you want you can relax and eat something. I can take over rowing by myself for a bit." After all the closer they got to shore, the harder it would become rowing though all the waste.

Serenity nodded, understanding that being drugged couldn't have been fun. I just felt dizzy and I couldn't see- I don't think she drugged me, that's not quite fair now is it? She shook her head, disapproving of the methods as well. Serenity had to agree with Sai, she had expected to be paired with someone she could potentially have a future with, not a friend, but a friend wouldn't be awful- given they actually got that far.
Serenity was startled out of her thoughts when Sai took her oar, rowing alone. She blinked a few times, stunned at the kindness, before nodding and taking the basket, pulling out one of the fruits and eating it.
Thank you Sai. She looked into the water, noticing how it only got worse. What a lovely hue to the water... She shook her head.

"I guessed you got the easier of the two options." Sai chuckled wondering if the Goddess really had to go to extreme measures to get them together in the first place. To be honest she didn't really want to be paired up with someone who wanted to court her, since they whole relationship would start off as a lie the moment they ask what she does for a living. Maybe a hunting buddy or even a practice partner would have been a good pairing for her, but friendships weren't her thing.
"Your welcome Serenity." She said her name for the first time. Raising an eyebrow at her used of lovely hue, even with knowing that it was meant as sarcasm she still wondered if it right word to use, maybe beautiful or even magical. "Doesn't it remind you of the dirt in the forest?" It wasn't even a question, the forest floor looked much better than the water.
"You know, with your looks I am sure you can catch yourself a rich man or even a noble who lives in the castle to take you as they wife. Since you're fated it might be easier since some of the men do like new and exotic things." It wasn't a lie, many might not like the fated since they didn't belong in this world but they knowledge they bring along with the fact they from a world so unlike ours well some of them it made them so much more exotic. Like the tales of merpeople living in the waters, surely if anyone were to find out someone was a merperson they would try to make them theirs. "Who knows, maybe I could arrange something for you to meet one of those men to make up for this date."

Serenity smiled. Things were finally calming down, and she could feel herself relaxing bit by bit. She looked away from the water and back at Sai, stunned at hearing her name. It wasn't so much that she minded, but she hadn't expected it. Serenity laughed at the comment of the forest.
Not at all. The dirt of the forest is actually quite nice. Adds to the lure of the forest itself. She stunned herself, saying something like that. Back home, she never would have step foot in such a place, deeming it crude and for the homeless. Yet here, she had been dragged into them, killed in them, and been injured in them. The forest didn't hold good memories for Serenity, and yet, she still found it calming. What an odd this this world was doing to her mind.
She looked up, yet again stunned. Was Sai complimenting her? This day had completely turned around, and it was surprising her to know end. She was confidant in her looks, no doubt, and she knew she could get -and has- a lot of men, if she wished. None were noble, but pleasing at the moment.
Why, thank you Sai. She didn't know what to say. A compliment from her was the last thing she expected. I'm sorry about what i said before- you're actually very stunning yourself. Including your hair... But... may I ask you to remove my face please? I'd feel much better looking at yours, rather than my own. She smiled sheepishly, choosing to play the innocent card for today, keeping her claws at bay, and her condescending arrogance on a leash.
Oh! I could never ask you to do that! In her head, that plan was perfect, yet she felt slightly guilty for wanting to jump on the opportunity- she didn't like it, the feeling of guilt. It was foreign to her, and she liked to keep it that way.

She didn't know if to be shocked or in awe that The Girl knew that the forest floor was much nicer. She honestly didn't seem like the type of person to go into the forest, then again maybe she only gone into the forest once or twice in her whole life. "Aye, the forest floor is much better than this water, after all."
Sai chuckled she had forgotten that she had taken on her face, it habit to forget that she changes her features until she looked in a mirror and remember. "I quite forget that I had taken on your face." She stopped rowing so that she could concentrate on shifting her features back, she could do it while rowing but it took more time for her too since she had to strip away the person's features until her's come back.
Closing her eyes, she slowly brought the image of Serenity's face to her mind. Taking the image apart piece by piece until she started to feel her bones crackling, the muscles moving once again back into they oringal place, her face become her face once again. Opening her eyes, she looked at the water wishing that it could reflect a person's reflection at a time like these.
She just shrugged her shoulders, it's not like it would have been hard, after all she would just have to pose as a maid or something and find out where they go. Simple and easy and even make it seem like Serenity bumped into them by accident, then work away washing her hand clean of ever being involved in the plan for setting them up.
Taking up the oars again she started to row again, the waters was getting murkier she was felt it in the weight of the oars as she rowed. Feeling her hair getting loose she quickly pulled it up into a ponytail to keep it out of the way, letting it hang over her shoulder, after all, the washing of her hair if it touched the water would take forever to undo.
"By chance, just wondering why do you think you were brought to this world." She was always wondering why the fated were brought to this world. She didn't still was always wondering that question thye they were here, it was soemthing she couldn't sovle. Were they brought here to help improve this world or was there another reason for being in this world.

She didn't watch as Sai removed her face, the sounds being quite enough to make her shiver. She was still adjusting to this world, and so far- it wasn't going well. She knew Sai was finished, when they began to move again, and she felt slightly bad for not helping, but there wasn't much she could do, she was weak. At Sai's question, she lifted her eyes back to her face.
Why? Well, I've thought that over hundreds of times. In my world, I was in power, I had money, people who admired me and did as I said, I was important. People actually feared me... here, I am nothing. Literally, nothing. I'm weak compared to anyone here, any money I had on me when I was brought here, means nothing. I would love to know why I was brought here, and who the hell did it so I can kill them. Maybe that was why. She was a terrible person.

Sai shakes her head, one was to clear her mind of the image of another person's face in her mind, the second was to shake the image of the Gods watching the show from they rest, feeling bored and deciding to mix it up a bit. "Well then if your planning to kill a God you will have to take that up with Fate himself. From what I heard he was the one that brought you and all the other fated to this world." "Also if you think of this as a punishment, don't because who knows. Maybe you were born into the wrong world and now you're in the one you belong in." She stop rowing for a bit, needing to take a break, her arms feeling tired from the strain of rowing the both of them alone. This shouldn't have taken as much out of her as it should after all she was used being someone else with weak bones, but she hadn't taken on the face and size of person other than today so her body shouldn't be that weak.
Reaching into the basket, she wondered if for the first time maybe the Goddess did something with the food to cause it. After all she was immuned to most posions thank to her loving father and her training. Other than the stuff the Goddess used on her earlier, that must be it after all it was the causing her to feel tireness in her arms already. "What you going to do in this world. Try and reclaim a little bit of the wealth you had in your own world?" It was a simple question not that Sai expected an answer anyway.

Serenity shrugged. She liked to believe she was born into the right world, she inherited power, fortune, and she wielded it well. Thinking that she hadn't belonged there would only shatter her image of her home- not that she could ever return. Her mind wandered to a boy, someone who was also from her home, though a different time. He was here now too- did he wonder about going home, wonder about the things Sai was saying?
I think, eventually, I'm going to build up. I want to find a way to be happy here, if anything. I want to find a purpose. Her voice was quiet, not fully noticing she said those words out loud. She took the oars from Sai and began where she had left off. She knew it wouldn't last long, but it would at least give the girl a break.

"A purpose, in this world. You can start getting a job if you're smart then maybe you can tutor some of the noble brats." Sai looked at Serenity taking the oars, she wondered how long she could row before she got tired. Speaking of work, she should be looking into either seeing if she could find a guild to join or become a sword for hire or she might be sleeping on the streets soon.
"Once we get back to shore how about I teach you little about this world. You got to know if you're going to live out your life here." She took an apple out of the basket, turning it into the light of the sun before taking a bite. It wasn't a lot of energy, but it would be enough to row them back to shore once Serenity got tired.
To be honest she didn't know why she was being nice to the girl. Maybe it was because she felt a little sorry for her being in this world after all, she did remind her of the children in the orphanage. Lost. Alone. Have no one that seem to even care about them, in the slightest bit. Plus once this date is done and over with chances of her seeing her again were low.
