After catching her and returning to the ground, Rivers blinks for a few moments as every member of the group but Shy seems to take a shot at the girl he was carrying. He adjusts Serenity to get a better grip and avoid dropping her, but as he does he remembers what he is doing and looks down, he had to admit as he held her there and saw her expression he felt like he'd gotten the reward for saving her. I guess I should put her down. He admits as he reluctantly helps set her down. As he watched the girl's embarrassed face he found himself thinking of someone else from another Nova, a long time ago.
Well enough reminiscing time to step in. He tells himself as he gives Serenity and encouraging smile and raises a hand. As he was about to speak Serenity beats him to the punch and apologizes. His disarming smile changes to a more genuine one and he raises a hand to the group. "Alright alright, I think everyone has expressed their dissatisfaction, and there is a point at which retribution just becomes its own form of bullying." He says trying to calm the group down.
Though when Aria mentions her virginity, though it is only audible to him and Garrett his head shoots up and he grins at Aria. "Well Boss, it seems you're not as innocent as you pretend, can't play dumb anymore." He calls before returning his attention to the rest of the group.
As the redheaded soldier begins to talk he finds himself laughing "you got him there Seanait was it?" He chuckles, Rivers had never been in any army, but he'd certainly seen much better organized mercenary bands. "I think you are already past that point, besides with this steam you are going to cook inside that armor." He points out as between the steam and the heat the armor couldn't have been comfortable.
Though his attention is drawn back to Serenity yet again as she mentions leaving. He reaches out and places a hand on her shoulder to prevent her from doing so. "Hey now, that's not necessary, I'll admit you did not make the best first impression, but everyone makes mistakes, and as we are all mature adults...well the only one who's not has already accepted your apology." He interjects glancing at Aria. "...anyways, I am sure we can all forgive you. That being said you should take a soak and get to know some people." He suggests, giving her a reassuring smile and a wink.
