It had been a relaxing three days at Haven so far. Lots of much needed rest, relaxation and food. Roxanne hadn't been back to the hot springs yet but she had plans to eventually. In the meantime, she thought perhaps she'd check out the library and maybe do a little research on her new local.
Roxanne was in her demon form again, but her regular clothes. She left her hair loose and was barefoot. She perused the shelves for awhile, enjoying the peace and impressed by the selection. Her tail was being used occasionally to move a selected book to a nearby table. She found one on local beasts, animals, and magical creatures; a few on local customs and rules; one on the history of Nova thusfar; and lastly one on current and acceptable fashions.
She was, by this point, pretty adjusted to the loss of her powers, including the telekinesis. Which is what led her to hauling the stack over to a sofa where she stacked them on the floor. The next few hours were spent lounging in various postions on the sofa and reading. She started with the important books, saving the fashion update for last. Her tail often twitching idly and her wings rustling and resettling occasionally.
After awhile, Roxanne took a break. She stood, stretching. Her wings flared out to their full expanse in the large room and she sighed. The view out the windows was lovely as well and she stood for a moment, just watching.

Serenity decided to venture out and explore the house a bit more. She knew everyone had their own room, and she stayed away from those. She'd been to the springs, and she'd been to the roof. The library seemed like a good next destination. She walked in, looking around at the clutter of books and shelves. Serenity was never really one to just sit around and read, but Rivers had given her a book on magic to learn about, and rather than being holed up in her room, reading it in the library seemed like a good idea.
After a moment, she heard someone sigh, and Serenity walked past a few shelves to see Roxy, stretching. Serenity had never seen the woman's demon form, but she was aware of it. Serenity blinked and cleared her throat softly.
Afternoon, Miss Roxy. Serenity kept a decent distance from the woman, not sure of the mood she held.

Roxanne heard the door to library and turned, seeing Serenity. She smiled at the other woman and lowered her wings, settling them tight against her back. "Good afternoon, Serenity, if I may call you that?" she returned, her tone light and pleasant. She was making an effort not to startle the other woman, as she wasn't sure how Serenity felt about demons.
Returning to her sofa, she settled down an tucked her tail around her feet. "How have you been the last couple of days? I haven't really seen you," she asks, making light conversation. She notices Serenity holding a book already, not recognizing it from the library's stock. "Doing a bit of research yourself?" she asks, nodding towards the book.

Of course you may. She smiled and walked a bit closer, leaning against the wall. I know, I'm sorry... After the drama at the springs.. I really just wanted to hole up in my room. Kail and I were pretty close, so it hurt. She smiled shyly, and lifted up the book to show her. I do suppose you could call it that, it's a book on magic that Rivers gave me.
Serenity decided to sit down, finding a chair near by. Can I assume you're doing the same? She smiled calmly at her.

Roxanne nodded in understanding as Serenity explained her absence. "That's understandable and I hope for your sake that he comes around after he's had some time to cool down. He seems like he could be reasonable enough when not stressed quite so much," she said, trying for empathy.
As Serenity shows her the book, Roxy looks at her with interest. "That was nice of Rivers. Are you studying magic to enhance your own abilities or learn new ones?" she asks, standing once more. She begins picking up the books she'd stacked and begins placing them back on the shelves. She kept the one on the history of nova, which she hadn't gotten to, held by her tail.
She laughs lightly at the other redhead's question. "You could say that, I guess. I thought since I was going to be here awhile, I should read up on this place. It's strange," she pauses, looking out the windows again. "I'm technically from here, a future version called Feyurlun now. But it's so different than this past time and yet so much the same," she finishes, looking back to Serenity.
"What about you? You seem very different, even from most people I know," she asks, giving the woman a curious look.

Serenity nodded. He is reasonable, but he's so stressed, and Rivers really bugs him for some reason. She shrugged, and looked at the cover of the book. Yes, it was nice of him... I want to learn something new to defend myself. He helped me learn the tunnels during that fight, so he probably thinks he can help me with this. She smiled.
While Roxy explained, Serenity nodded-- she hadn't known the woman was fated, but she supposed it made sense. Must be so odd, being dragged into the past of your own world. Though, when Roxy asked about herself, Serenity smiled. You must have assumed by now that I am fated... I am from Earth, 1854. Same place as Kail, but in a very different time period. He is from a future time in my old world. I however, am from a more sophisticated and formal era than he, which makes sense. So I suppose you won't ever meet someone like me.

A confused look settles on Roxanne's face as Serenity tells her that Kail doesn't like Rivers. She found him very likable indeed, but then Kail was a man. "I wonder what it is then that bothers Kail," she mused. Perhaps the blonde was simply jealous of Rivers's way with women, considering the scene he made at the springs. Regardless, it didn't concern her unless he decided he had a death wish and tried a repeat of the incident.
She shakes her head. Then smiles as the other woman explains about trying to learn to defend herself. That was very admirable and very useful in this place. "That's a good idea. Nova doesn't seem like a good place to not know how to defend yourself, in any timeline. I could teach you some sword techniques, if you wished, but you'd need a sword first. I'm not great with hand to hand combat," she offers, "Good luck though with your training, though." She finishes, taking a seat in a chair this time. She adjusts her wings briefly to rest against the back of the chair so as not to hurt them.
Turning her attention back to Serenity, Roxanne listens as she tells her briefly of her home. "That would explain why you're so polite. Doesn't tell me what Kail's problem is though," she comments, laughing lightly.

Alas, I do not know. Men are men. Serenity shrugged and laughed, pushing some hair behind her ear. I agree, Nova is proving to be quite the dangerous place. I'm not good with hand to hand, or weapons sadly- though magic seems to be something I can do... Actually. I remember you during the fight- it was your fire, was it not? Serenity looked at her curiously, a small smile on her face. Serenity watched as she had to readjust, wondering what it would be like to live in more than one form of body-- Serenity didn't think she'd like it very much. She really liked her own body.
Yes, I suppose it does explain that, though I cannot explain Kail. From what I can tell, my home in the future, is a terribly informal and fake place. Serenity laughed again, for once happen she no longer lived there.

Roxanne laughed and nodded. "Men are men and we are not meant to really understand them," she agreed, smiling. At Serenity's next question, she held out an open palm. After a second, a small fire appeared, perfectly contained and seemingly from nowhere. "Yes, that was me. Without the outside interference, the fire would've gone out on its own after my absence. It was meant to simply be a barrier, to keep the other guards from stopping us," she explained, allowing the fire to dance along her tail before it disappeared. She shrugged at the comment about Kail. "I wouldn't try to explain Kail. Don't let him bother him you," she said calmly.

Serenity smiled as the flame danced in her hand. ....How would you feel about teaching me that some day? Serenity was forward, but nice in her tone. Though you are correct-- men are fools, but they are our fools. Serenity laughed again, and settled more comfortably in her chair.
I have no intention of letting him bother me. We've all got bigger problems.

Surprise crossed her features at Serenity's request. "Teach you?" she repeated, a thoughtful look replacing the surprise. "Perhaps I could try. I've never had someone make such a request and so I never thought about it. This is actually my demon power," she admitted. She laughed a little, still thinking about it. "I might have to read a book about how to teach something like this. I don't really even have to think about it when I do it," she said in an ironic tone.
Listening to Serenity's talk of men and bigger problems, she nodded. "I think we need another dip in the hot springs and more wine, but without the drama this time," she suggested, smiling.

Serenity shrugged. Perhaps it is not teachable, but I would love it if we could try. Serenity smiled sweetly. She knew it was power Roxy had because she was not human, so perhaps Serenity could not learn it, but she was willing to try. She hadn't thought she would be able to learn the tunnels, yet Rivers managed to teach her them anyway. Serenity knew she was not good with close combat, weapons or not-- magic seemed to call on her in the sense that she could do it from afar.
At the mention of the springs, Serenity nodded, and laughed. That does sound amazing, although I will have a towel this time-- modesty, I think, will remain a habit of mine for now. Serenity laughed played a bit with her hair. She didn't used to be one for nervous habits, but it seems as though that were changing. Her eyes looked over the woman, once again admitting the beauty she had. Why is it that every fated woman I've met had red hair? She laughed once more, wondering if the god that took them here had a thing for red heads-- she decided to voice that aloud-- I mean, it the God doing that on purpose? Maybe secretly it's Rivers, picking and choosing the red heads of the world he wants to bring here. Another laugh escaped her, as she pictured Rivers looking at a book of the red heads of the universe.

Roxanne nodded. "It certainly can't hurt to try. We might get Rivers to help teach me to teach you, if that makes sense," she said sincerely. It would benefit all of them to help the woman learn some defensive/offensive magic after all.
She laughed as Serenity mentioned keeping her towel at their next hot springs trip. "You could've kept one last time, no one would've judged you or said anything," she said, thinking for a moment before continuing, "I realize you're trying to fit in here, but don't lose yourself in the process," Roxy finished, smiling.
At Serenity's next remarks, Roxanne looks at her curiously. Had all the red heads she'd met been Fated? She shrugged, then laughed at the woman's suggestion of it being Rivers. "He does seem to have a thing for red heads, but he's not twisted enough to be Fate. At least, I don't think so..." she said, smiling. "It certainly is odd though. I didn't realize that I'd be brought here by a God until Rivers explained it to me. I thought it was Aria and the hairpin she gave me. She put some kind of magic on it," Roxanne explained, hoping she didn't sound too crazy.

That does make sense- his patience is commendable sometimes. Serenity smiled and pulled her legs up into the chair with her, curling up into herself.
Thank you, Miss. Roxy, I’m starting to realize that now. I’m just happy I have a solid place to live now. When Rivers found me I was living in a really bad motel room, with little to nothing in it. That’s not a life, its a moment… I think I can start a life now. She smiled once more, becoming confidant with her life here.
I don’t truly think it would be Rivers, but the thought was humorous. When I first arrived here, I was purely angry.. I’m afraid I pulled a tantrum of sorts. It was Kail that found me and calmed me down. It did help that he seemed to know about my time— what with his history books and such in his time. She spoke fondly of both Rivers and Kail, but she had begun to see them in two very different lights.

Roxanne smiled, thinking about what she knew of Rivers so far. It was hard to believe that they'd only known each other for such a short time. "Yes, he does seem to have quite a bit of patience, from what I can tell. I really haven't known him long. He found me in the temple, right after I arrived here, and pulled me to that cabin immediately thereafter. He was very rude about it all, so I didn't like him much at first," she said, laughing a little.
She waved a hand dismissively as Serenity thanked her. "There's nothing to thank me for, I haven't done you any favors. But I agree, a motel is no place for any lady with decent reputation or such modesty as yours," she said, her tail swinging idly. As the conversation turns once more to Kail, she smiled at the obvious fondness Serenity had for both the men. "If that's the case, then he practically saved you and we should be glad of that, at least. Surely he'll come around then, if he's that honorable," she commented lightly.
