Once Diamond had agreed to come with him, the assistant led the white haired man back to the castle-- though he had no doubts he already knew the way there. Once arriving there, the assistant took him to the Royal Gardens, as instructed. He cleared his throat.
"Madam, he has arrived." The assistant bowed, and left Diamond with the Duchess. Melda, who was waiting in the gardens just after sunset, turned at the sound of footsteps. Her hair was down today, silvery locks waving down her figure, ending at her hips. She wore elegant white clothing, her dress with a v-neck, long flowing sleeves, and her cloak draped over her shoulders with the hood up. At the sight of the assistant she had sent, and the man she recognized as Diamond, a tight smile appeared on her face.
Glad to see you were able to join me. She gestured him to join her as she sat on a bench near by them. The air was cooling down as the sun set.
I imagine you're curious, Sir Corscia, as to why I summoned you here. Well, I am in search of a guard of sorts- rather a body guard if you will. So much happening in Nova recently, well... I felt it was a wise decision to make. She looked at his face, her eyes a mix of purple and blue.

Diamond sees the woman after the messenger left the two of them there. Although he sees that she was cloaked and that did make him want to frown. But who was he to argue with this noble woman, then she began to speak as to why she wanted him. It seemed that she needed extra protection from the events that were going on. He walks over and takes a seat next to Melda. "I can see why you seeked me out. Do you think your fears of being attacked are from the fated or something within, or just both. I am mildly just curious Milady" he said showing a great deal of manners on speaking to the elven woman that was next to him. She would see that Diamond was heavily armed as he had three fourein blades. All of them curved and good for slashing down his foes in a instant. His pack was placed by his feet as he stat with pretty perfect posture. Diamond would try and get to know this woman just a bit more before he committed to taking up this job. He had to be careful due to the fact that Severine had him on her shit list in a sense.

Not the Fated public as a whole— I have no personal preference on them. There are specific people whom I worry about, but I don’t think it’s because they’re Fated. Diamond, I assure you that with the help of my own magic I am very capable of taking care of myself. However, should I be caught off guard… Well, it would be your job to make sure that I would not be. She smiled humourlessly and lifted the hood from hear head. Her skin was pale and clean, and her eyes were the most prominent feature on her face. Her eyes shifted colour daily, changing different hues of blues and purples. An elven trait along with her tapered ears, now visible to the man.
I sought you out because I remembered your name from the Guard. I do not think we formally met until now, but I would like to request your assistance.

Diamond slightly smiled and understood what she ment as it was something on the inside. Even then she showed her full face and saw that it was a elvish one with the ears and eyes. As he hears that she needed extra help as she knew magic and would help her I she was under attack. But Melda needed that extra amount to be safe, and heard that he was in the *guard*. But it might have been due to the fact that he had told off Roland. "You have given me a far more compelling reason to be here. Roland just gave me the shut up and do my job kind of thing. I maybe a mercenary and perhaps be low as some of the scum of the earth. But I have my honor and respect, he did not earn it in my eyes or just give me a better reason to stick around, or really need someone. Perhaps I am being a tad picky"he said and then knew the next part was going to be a bit pain. As now they were going to get into the business end of neogiations
"Now this is where pleasantries may end, how much will I be played for doing this, and how long will you bee needing me. There is room for negotiations on any of this as I am rather flexable on these matters" he said and knew most nobles did not like this part. But once this was done though, Diamond would be doing his job faithfully and without too much question.

Melda smirked slightly at Diamond’s description of Roland. She had no doubts that he was right, Roland did seem like the type to bark orders and respect pure silence and obedience. I do not see it as picky, though I do hope to be respected, not only as a Noble, but as your boss by the end of today. She shook her head still smirking. This man had a fire to him that she rather liked— not that she liked him yet. Rather, she disliked and distrusted most men, but under the circumstances, trusting him to protect her was mandatory.
It seems you know what you want… But allow me to offer this; You would be working for me indefinitely, as we do not know how long this escapade of Se—.. The Fated problems seem as though they will extend on for a long period of time. Until everything is settled, there is no set timeline for when I will need your assistance. She cleared her throat, raising her chin up.
As for pay, well, I suppose we can nearly double whatever you were making in the Guard. I do not know the reasons for which you left, and I don’t care. You are no longer working for Roland, you would be working for me. I am no slave driver, but do not expect me to be all sweet and caring. She arched an eyebrow. Many people took her for caring, and to a certain capacity she was, but when it came to most men, she was not. Not unless they were family, or had somehow gotten close to the Duchess. Though Melda liked this mans drive and fire, she did not know him as a person, and thus had no personal feelings towards him-this was just a man who she hoped knew how to do this job right.

"You have given me a lot more then Roland. But there is already that respect, once I am heired and in your employ I will not be so easily bought by another on shear principle. As if I switch my employer that would look bad for business. But I have turned on my employer though if they start to do war crimes. Or other things that would be truly evil and vile" Diamond said as he answered on the question of respect and then they moved to the nitty gritty part. The money and amount of time that he would be working for Melda, and she gave him a honest and flat manner. The pay raised an eyebrow and that was a good amount of money to be had there. But since he was going to be doing business for the first time in Nova. He would cut a slight deal on the price and time as of right now. Diamond was going to his best when he heard the slight slip up. As he knew that she was worried on Severine and he was happy that it was the real case then just the Fated problem.
"Very well, how about this then. I will make a formal contract later on today. In this though I will work for four months and this contract can be renewed every four months. This will continue until the said situation is over with for good. I will cut what your giving to the normal rate that Rolland was giving me. In exchange though I would want the mana crystals that I stabilized. One of my magical abilities needs crystals as a catalyst for using magic. So it would help me doing my job in protecting you and ensuring your safety" said Diamond as it looked like he would take the job as he could be more well protected from political attacks. Since he knew that Severine would not go out of her way to take him out or take action against him. That was what he thought for the matter.
"But for the most part I will take the job right now milady" he said and knew that this woman needed the help until Severine was delt with or lost power.

Melda nodded her head That is quite understandable, and I have no such intentions. She cleared her throat, listening to what the man was saying, while also looking him over. He looked fit, well built, and seemed as though he could easily protect her from most threats, which was perfect. No one was invincible, and she had no intentions of purposely throwing him in harms way.
Hearing of the contract, her eyes snapped back to his, stunned that he had come up with such an idea. Mr. Corsica, that is a wonderful idea. When you finish the contract, bring it to me, and I will look it over, and sign it. Don’t take offence at my skeptical eye when I do read it— I don’t want to sign away anything, it would be irresponsible. She cracked a small smile, humoured by her own joke, but dropped the smile immediately as she realized it wasn’t all that funny. When he spoke of the pay, she tilted her head to the side and looked at him curiously, though her question was answered when he spoke of the crystals.
Ahh.. that will be hard to obtain, I will have to go through Roland, which I am sure you know. I will speak to him in the morning, She gestured to the setting sun, I doubt he wants to deal with such things right now. She looked at him. I will do what I can to get them for you. So all that’s next is for you to write up that contract, and then it is settled. She held out her hand. Welcome to— well.. being my bodyguard of sorts. She shrugged, shaking his hand when he gave it to her. She was usually more formal, but she needed him, and things were going smoothly. That, and she’d had a feeling he’d gotten more than enough formal conversations from Roland.

"I always make sure that my clients are aware of this. The contract though is a standard thing that was with the Crystalis Mercenaries. We have had some problems in the past so its been a recent thing to cover our selves as well as our clients as well" said Diamond as he gave a bit of background info on the matter. This did though bring a question if he should alert the company due to the fact. That he was being dragged into something that could be a rather sticky situation. But that would be something that he would debate later. Melda did give a look of surprise on the price cut then understood what he was saying afterwards. "That is fair, but I will need a study of some sort to do the writing as I have no paper nor quill to write with. I may need some logeing of some sort while I do my job" he said and saw the sun setting in the sky. He mostly wanted the contract so that if Roland or Severine would try and enterfier with his job. This could deter both of them as it was a legal binding deal and not even they could remove it.
"Anyway shall we get going milady" said Diamond as he got up and was going to escort her to where ever there next location was. He did want to get some space to place his things as well as get the contract quickly done.

She nodded at his explanation, understanding the logic behind it. she kept her composure proper, not letting any desperation appear to him. She was right when she said she could handle herself, she simple didn’t want to resort to learning swordplay. You can use anything you need from the castle, excluding the out of bounds areas for King Noku and Severine. And of course, I assume you would avoid Rolands office. I can get you what you need. She shook off the request, finding it ridiculous that he even ask.
Melda stood, lifting her hood back up to her hair, so it cast shadows on her white face, and nearly hiding her eyes from people, but not quite. Yes, thank you. She began walking with him, knowing that this would be an interesting set up, but currently having no complaints about it. She could speak to Roland in the morning of the crystal, and would find him the needed resources that night.
If you wish you can stay at the castle tonight, in the study of your choosing to work on the contract.
