Diamond did not say much when Aria spoke on commoners and he could not really comment on the matter. But hearing from Lucinda about being an honor on meeting at least one of the gods or goddesses. It made him want to shrug on the matter as he felt rather indifferent on the matter if he met one of the divine beings. That would have been an interesting thing to meet one including Mylee but for Diamond though it seemed like for the gods and goddesses it would a minor thing for them. The white haired male did not see himself as too interesting for that kind of honor. But then Aria did talk about the Anthros or Phiorics as the red head had clarified for him in this case. He did remember that Aria did have some kind of animal features at the springs. "Yes that was the same woman" he said and then they entered the weapon shop and had to chuckle a bit as his boss Melda had stayed out of the event.
"My lady, there might not be a chance to use magic against someone. So some kind of protection should be on you. Because I might not be always around to protect you if, lets say I am dealing with one enemy. Then another one blindsides me and comes after you. I've seen these small swords from time to time while I have been in Nova. You might want to consider one of these, there light, decrotive, and can still hurt someone" said Diamond as he offered his own opinion on the matter. But hearing Aria on the bladed fans he had to really chuckle on that. "Oh those things.....the amount of assassins I had to deal with that wielded those weapons. But finding those are going to be very rare and I do mean rare. Most eastern traders don't normally come out this far. At least I have not seen since I have been in Nova" said Diamond as those fights with the bladed fan users were always a challenge. Due to there dance moves and usage of the fan to distract his eyes while striking with the other.
"hhhhhmmmm.........I prefer a flanged mace then a war hammer. Although I can see where a war hammer might be useful if it has one of those back spikes. Perhaps I will browse around though, I will at least buy something from here though. A smith works hard for his craft and puts everything into what he makes. For those that craft my blades here. Its almost like a spiritual experience for them when making something" he said and looked over there wares. Looking for something that would stick out for him and well called out to him.

Lucinda seemed rather shocked to hear Aria say such things about nobles treating commoners like scum. It wasn’t really something she’d ever done or witnessed personally and she found the thought quite deplorable. True, commoners weren’t rich or privileged like nobles but they were still people. “That is most unfortunate. With your new title, you should be able to intervene in any such situations you come across. If you cannot because the offending noble is higher than you, please don’t hesitate to come to me and I’ll do what I can,” she said, still frowning slightly at the idea.
Aria’s determination to spend slowly was amusing and admirable. The princess laughed lightly and gave her a sympathetic look. “We’ve got all day, so take all the time you need. I know this is a big change for you,” she said. Remembering Melda’s reluctance to shopping though, she added, “Of course, Duchess Vanya is more than welcome to take her leave if this becomes too tedious or time-consuming for her. Though we greatly appreciate your coming along.” Lucinda smiled warmly at the older elf.
As the topic turned to one of weapons, the princess found herself at a loss. She listened as Aria and Diamond discussed various types of weapons. Even Lady Vanya chimed in, admitting she wasn’t one for physical weapons but rather preferred her magic. Lucinda found that interesting. She hadn’t known the duchess was magic, though it certainly made sense with her being an elf. “I’m trained with archery but only as a sport. I honestly don’t think I could shoot a living thing if I tried,” she said simply, “I usually just rely on whatever guards are supposed to be protecting me. They’ve never let me down before and I don’t often even leave the city,”she added, as if that were a perfectly reasonable thing to say. Quite honestly, she realized that she sounded like a typical, vulnerable noble.

Aria chuckled at Melda’s response to the festival. She had the same feelings on the matter.
”Honestly I had karma come bite me on the ass for that one, someone signed me up after I signed Garrett up. Otherwise I would not have participated either; frankly I have met thirteen year olds with more experience in that area then me. ”
Aria glanced at Lucinda with an appreciative smile on her face; though it wasn’t like she was helpless even back when she didn’t have a title…Nobles always had animals. An inopportune turned cart, or an infestation here or there…something always happened whether she told the animals to do it on purpose or not. But frankly that was back when she had no control over what thoughts leaked where. She chuckled when the option to let Melda skip out was offered and her spending habits commented on.
”Thinks like clothes were always on the bottom of my priority list, I always seem to ruin most nice things I have. Not on purpose, things just happen. However things like furniture, weapons, food, pots, pans, things like that I don’t have as much issues spending on. After lunch I wouldn’t mind stopping at a place that sells bolts of cloth, and picking up some carving blocks. I have a feeling my life is going to need more hobbies….”
Aria listened with interest and nodded when Melda asked that this information stay with them.
”I’m dabbling in water myself….frankly that element is new to me. I started to learn how to use the sword when I was sixteen, first I learned from a demon named Dante, he was the one to give me this scar on my face. After I had another teacher take over, he was amazing with a blade. I trained every night with him for over eight years; I enjoyed those trainings. I found them relaxing….well sort of. More relaxing for the mind then body. I learned how to use daggers from a boy who use to watch over me while I was in the orphanage; so started with those when I was four.”
She nodded agreeing with Diamond, magic wasn’t always an option. Sometimes it was better to hide that you had it then use it. She chuckled when mentioned the pain that the fans had given him. Aria enjoyed seeing them, she was hoping to at least find one or two.
”Well then if you come across one let me know, I would love to purchase one. They really are pretty, and practical. I love when things have more than one use to them.”
Aria watched as Melda picked out a good blade and smiled, she would mention to the woman she should hide it in easier reach. It was hard to get knife out of your boot unnoticed if you needed it quick like. Aria listened to Diamond explain things while she looked over a few swords. Picking them up and testing out there balance. She had gone over quite a few before she found one satisfactory for her. It was when Lucinda mentioned that she knew archery that Aria grinned and also went over to the bows. As she had been looking over the swords she had spotted one that looked like it would fit with her armor remarkably well.
”Great how about we start shooting a few rounds sometime in the evening. The people in the training grounds are already use to me. Either of you are also welcome to join me in the early mornings, I usually like to start my day off with an exercise routine.”

Yes yes fair enough. Show me things I may be able to use. She waved her hand at him, not wanting to talk about her magic any more in public.
When Aria spoke of her own, Melda nodded, intrigued by her at this point. When she was done Melda was nodding more, trying to picture a baby Aria throwing daggers… it really wasn’t hard to imagine. Looking to Lucinda, she processed why her name had been said. Oh? Trying to get rid of me now are you? What, this old woman not fast enough for you? She shook her head, clearly joking. Now, I promised to help you get Aria into shape for her new title, it would be rude of me to bow out now. With an affirmative nod, Melda went off to wherever Diamond was looking, not knowing the first thing about weapons.

Diamond found the weapon he was talking about it was a short sword that looked like a needle like blade. It seemed like a not a threatening looking blade. "This weapon, even though looks like a non threatening blade. Is rather deadly all you need is that one swift strike that will be a deathblow. If you stab someone in the heart or neck its over. Or disabling them by stabbing them in the eye. Plus this is a deceptive weapon as it seems like a non-threatening blade" he said to Melda as he handed the blade to her. The white haired mercenary heard on what Aria was doing with the magic. And then her small story on how she learned how to use a sword as well as daggers. The princess though he did worry about as he felt that everyone should know a bit of self defense as there would be times where your protectors are not around.
"Princess with all due respect, you should learn some self defense. I doubt that no one would come actively come after you. But there may be a time where your protectors might not be around to defend you. I do apologize if I overstepped my bounderies on this. And that I work for my lady here. But as someone who has been a bodyguard before. If you can defend yourself for just a tiny bit. It may give your guards that small amount of time to come to your aid. Trust me have been on both ends of this as the attacker and defender" he said trying to advise her a bit. As he did speak from personal experience on the matter and did speak to her with the most sincere respect he could for her. Diamond was eyeing a flanged mace that looked rather wicked looking on the matter, if he could not find that really appealing. He could go make a thick and heavy wooden club to bash someone's head.

Lucinda browsed the shop as she listened to Aria, nodding in understanding when the girl explained her thoughts on spending. She supposed that made quite a lot of sense, given Aria’s previous life. Her mini life story on weapons only helped to further this line of thought. In some ways, Lucinda found herself feeling sorry for Aria and in others, almost envious.
Aria’s suggestion tugged her out of thoughts and she turned to look at the red head in surprise, then smiled. “That would be nice. I haven’t actually had a chance to practice since I’ve been here and I’m sure Alli would like the chance to get out more too,” she said, patting the little dragon gently and then laughing at Melda’s response. “Not at all, Duchess. We’re quite happy to have your company, I just don’t want you to feel obligated to stay longer than you wish,” she explained, still smiling.
The princess turned as Diamond addressed her, more amused than anything at his boldness. She listened, a thoughtful look on her face, as he gave his opinion concerning her self defense, or rather lack thereof. “Perhaps. You do have a good point. It’s just that, generally, female royalty arn’t supposed to learn combat skills. My archery is just for sport, though I am pretty good with it.,” she said, still thinking. “I could use a hobby though. Maybe Duchess Aria could teach me swordplay?” she suggested, looking admiringly over a blade that was not short but not long, and had a beautiful wing design.

Aria laughed clearly amused by Meldas reaction to Lucinda's comment. "Well I am glad for your decision to stay with us. Plus if you went your guard goes with you, then I'd be breaking his majesties rule for a babysitter with a bite to'em" Aria winked at Diamond, it was useful that he had come along as well. She looked over at the sword he had picked for Melda, it was nice as pig stickers went.
Aria listened to Diamonds advice towards Lucinda and nodded, it wasn't bad for them to know how to defend themselves. When Lucinda mentioned the possibility of her teaching swordplay shemotioned for the shop keep and pointed to the blade Lucinda had been eyeing. She dropped a few coins in the shop kelepers hands enough for the blade and the supplies to take care of it. "Lessons start tommorow. Now let's go eat I'm starving. "
