It was the kind of night that made most people want to stay in and cuddle under warm blankets. The air was cold, the sharp wind not helping matters, and the storm showed no signs of slowing. Rain pounding on the old buildings of the third district, filling up gutters, turning the streets to mud and limiting visibility further than the fog that had crept in with it. The Gallow's Inn seemed a lighthouse, of sorts, a welcoming light in the cold, damp dark. A lone figure made its way through the soaked city with a tiny flame resting on an out stretched hand, barely lighting the way. Winding through the mud, she soon arrived at the inn and quickly pushed inside.
The half-demon lowered her cloak hood, shaking out her long red hair, which she wore down with side pinned back with Aria's hairpin, and extinguishing her little light all in one smooth motion. The few patrons that dotted the room and bar looked up at the newcomer with some interest, the men with perhaps a little more interest than any ladies present. Roxanne was dressed warmly in a long black wool cloak. Heavy black leggings tucked into her signature calf high boots and she wore a long sleeved, fitted tunic of fine quality wool that was emerald green with a silver and black design embroidered along the bottom. It brushed the tops of her thighs and was cinched at her waist with a fine, black leather belt the buckle of which appeared to be a set of tiny bone wings.
Roxanne made her way over to the bar, smiling at the grizzled keeper. "I'll have a mug of whatever's available and a bowl of the stew," she said, slapping down a few coins, "Oh and a room for the night, if you've one available," she finished. Everyone knew that the Gallow's Inn alloted Fated a free room and meal, but she wasn't a known Fated and intended to keep it that way. She waited idly for the food and drink, which didn't take long at all and settled into eating. While she ate, the half demon sent a quiet message to let Aria know she had returned and wondered how long it would take the other woman to reach her. Roxanne had been gone for months on this mission from Aria, trying to investigate the signs of Fated in the other countries. Now it was time to report on her findings, though they weren't good and she knew already that Aria wouldn't be happy to hear it. Still, it was better information given in person and so she settled in to wait.

Why was it whenever she actually got to sleep, someone or something woke her from it? Aria blinked sleeply raising her head above the blankets to peak outside. She could hear the rain splattering on the windows; she had removed herself from the drake pens to sleep indoors that night just for that reason. Aria was fairly comfy and warm, no desire to extract herself from her comfy warm nest. However she had sent Roxy off before she even got sent off to Palico. At Lucinda’s brother’s mention of the Fated not yet making it to the kingdom of Palico, Aria had begun to wonder if this was true for all of the kingdoms. It wasn’t long after that Aria had sent Roxy off to investigate. Aria had some suspicions at the time, however her answer came too late.
Despite the setbacks it would be good to go see Roxy; and gain any more information that she might have dug up. In fact she did not think she had seen the demon really since she was fated over. With a groan Aria wriggled out of the blankets; ….now fully seeing the horrendous weather out the window. She HATED winter rain storms. It covered everything in s slick coat of ice, ice that often broke roofs, trees, ect. There wasn’t a snow balls chance in hell she was going to go out side in this mess. Instead Aria, still in her sleepy state, chose to use one of her very unreliable unpredictable modes of transportation.
There was a swish of flames as the young phioric used her ability to transport herself; shortly after there was a puff of flames as a very sleepy, disheveled looking Aria appeared right on the slab of wood that served as the bar for the tavern. Aria blinked as she met the shocked stares of the late night patrons.
”Damnit”
She has meant to show up in the room set aside for meetings like this….because of the location she had meant to show up in she hadn’t even bothered to change into her normal clothes. Nope she was dressed in an oversized shirt which slightly hung off her shoulder, with sleeves that well draped over her hands. It was likely a shirt she had swiped from Garrett; and one that she was using as night clothes. Thankfully since it was so nippy she decided to sleep with pants on. So at least this appearance wasn’t one of her pantless escapades. Arias hair was a wild mess, soft curls stuck up in odd directions; and the red mass tumbled around her.
So here she was sitting crosslegged on the counter, with her feet bare, and hair a mess; staring down some quite confused patrons. Her gaze returned to Roxanne, with a clear expression of ‘couldn’t this have waited until the morning?’ By now the demoness had to know Aria did not wake up well.

Roxanne looked up in surprise at the sudden commotion and burst of flames on the bar. She quirked a brow and gave the other red head an amused look as she took in the disheveled appearance. Clearly, she had worn. Aria up, which was entirely unintentional. The barkeep didn't seem pleased and the rest of the patrons were clearly in shock. The look Aria was giving her was pretty clear but she shrugged. Honestly she had expected Aria to wait and come tomorrow. It wasn't really the half demon's fault that she insisted on bravely avoiding the storm.
"Well, you certainly know how to make an entrance but why don't we take this somewhere a bit more private? I think you've scared the poor bar folk," she said, not bothering to hide her amusement. She knew well enough that Aria didn't wake well. "Do you want coffee? My treat." She offered, softening a bit. The poor dear was still in her night things even.

Aria met Calix’s exasperated glare; and pointed upstairs. She calmly hopped off the bar; her bare feet not making a sound as they hit the wood floor. Aria just grunted in response to Roxy’s statement about her entrance; she didn’t like making an entrance. Really she found that ability of hers way to flashy; however it came with the whole phoenix transport ability. She really did wish she knew a way where it wasn’t so flashy. Even if the flames were dulled to a puff of smoke….but nope. To top it off she never could get the end point right, it was always off a few feet at best…. And that was when she concentrated.
At the mention of coffee Aria nodded; she would need something to wake her up slightly if she was going to be able to listen and actually respond to Roxanne. Calix knew well enough to get something for her to snack on to, he’d bring it up to them. She didn’t know what she’d do without Calix, he was her eyes and ears of the tavern. Aria lead Roxy up to a private room where she held meetings before. There was a desk, some chairs and a table. Aria sat on one cushioned chair at the end of the table and leaned back in it, her feet propped up on the table and her eyes closed.
Not long after arriving in the room Calix came in with Roxy’s order of food and a drink, along with a steaming cup of hot chocolate mixed with some coffee for Aria. After Aria had taken a few sips of her drink she was at least somewhat awake enough to form a sentence.
”Glad to see you returned in one piece”

It became quite clear that Aria and Calix were on some kind of terms, good ones if this exchange said anything. Roxanne chuckled under her breath a bit and laid down more coin to cover the coffee and additional food.
She followed Aria up the stairs and to what was obviously a private meeting room. She wondered briefly why a tavern would have a room like this but then just settled for picking a chair next to the other woman. She nodded as Aria finally spoke after having some of the coffee and quietly thanked Calix.
"Were you worried I wouldnt?" She asked, honestly curious. Roxanne sipped on her ale, sighing a bit. "You don't find ale like this everywhere. As you can imagine, I spent most of my time just traveling to get to all the kingdoms, but I managed. I also found the information you were looking for, but you're not going to like it." She warned.

Aria placed her cup down and looked Roxy in the eye when she inquired if Aria had been worried she wouldn’t make it back in once piece. Honestly there was always the possibility, especially with what they were playing with.
”There was the possibility you wouldn’t, however out of most people I know you stood the best chance to come back successfully in once piece.”
In short she had been a little worried, but she knew Roxanne was capable of taking care of herself. Aria nodded when Roxanne got down to business and came out with that the news she brought was not one she would like. Aria already had her answer; the majority of the fated weren’t making it to the kingdoms however with Roxy having traveled, as did she to other kingdoms she knew it was possible. But Helena had revealed a good chunk of the fated had been captured and killed. But Aria didn’t know the how, she suspected Helena did not act alone in the capture…. But she didn’t have any confirmation. She would allow Roxy to continue with her explanation, even if it was facts she already knew Roxy might have come across something she didn’t.

Roxanne nodded, accepting Aria's answer. She supposed it was rather dangerous, more so during these long winter months. Moving on though, she started in on relaying her gathered intell. "Well, there have been a few Fated showing up in the other kingdoms. Not as many as here and that's thought to be because of some special stone that's rumored to be hidden somewhere in the forest or mountains close by. The Fated that did show up, however, weren't around for very long before disappearing. None of the locals I spoke with knew much about it, " she said, pausing a moment to finish off her drink.
"I searched the main cities, eavesdropping at taverns and markets. I spoke with some of the priestesses. A few that were dedicated to Helena said she was behind it. She's been sending out minions to kidnap the Fated. A few rumors suggest that she's manipulated the dead into doing her dirty work, or she's called favors with a few of her shadier devotees. It's unclear what's happening to the Fated afterwards, mostly because they never show back up." She finished, though she had an uneasy look on her face.
After a moment, Roxanne continued reluctantly. "You were right to be worried. Not many people know that I'm Fated, k was never registered. But I doubt that means little to a goddess. There were a few times when I was sure I was being followed. I never got a good look at the stalker but it's a feeling you don't forget. A hunter is never comfortable being the hunted." The half demon finished, looking at Aria with a serious expression and only the slightest hint of fear hidden in her lavender eyes.

For as bad as the news was Aria didn’t looked too shocked, she had suspected something along these lines were happening and it was confirmed. However she was also right to suspect that Roxy may have picked up more information then she had.
”I can answer the piece you were missing, the fated after they were captured were tortured and killed. Only to be brought back along with a massive horde of undead to attack the city of Nova…..But I thank you Roxy for risking yourself to gather this information. Because of you we may be able to warn others. I’ll write up some warnings that you can post around where the fated are showing up.”
Roxy at least had gone and successfully completely what Aria had asked; and she came back with information that could save lives.
”Roxy… I want to thank you again for going out on a limb to gain this info; I also owe you an explanation on my severe absence since you were fated over. However going forward in order for me to release that information I need to place back up precautions.”
Aria leaned back in her chair her fingers clasped together just under her chin in thought, thinking of how to word this further.
”I have an ability that will mark the wearer; basically it would protect what I’d tell you from being leaked. If you try to utter the information given to you to another person who bears either no mark or activated mark your mark would become activated; wiping any memory of said information and those pertaining to it….It would also mark you as a traitor to me; and the mark would burn ….and burn like a bitch. However that is only if you betray the trust that I’d be putting into you; it’s an unfortunate precautions but the risks with what I play with are high. I also could activate the mark depending on the circumstances.”
Aria hated to mark a friend; and she had even taken out the portion of which it burned the mark wearer for Rivers. As it was a cruel; for it tortured the victim with no knowledge as to why…however apparently the fear of said mark was needed as Rivers had unfortunately proven to her.
”The reason I’m telling you about this is I want to bring you into the inner workings of what I am doing, I need people whom I trust…however the mark is as I am aware, is a lot to ask of someone without any prior information given as to what they are getting into. So I give you the choice, walk away and we stay as we were, or accept and step into a world much more complicated then it first appears.”

Roxanne listened intently as Aria filled in the blanks, giving her a horrified look at the mention of the zombies. One would have thought that she was horrified because undead are scary, but the half demon just shook her head in disappointment. "Damn. I missed all the fun, didn't I?" she asked, then nodded at Aria's request. "That's not a problem. I can get those posted pretty quickly, especially if I do it at night," she said, giving the other girl a wry smile.
She settled back in listening and occasionally sipping her drink as Aria continued, thanking her for assistance and then offering her a sort of half ass promotion of sorts. The benefits didn't sound too beneficial. A mark that could burn if Aria chose, potentially erase her memory, and a secret that could possibly get her into more danger? Roxanne let a slow, devious grin settle on her face. "This sounds like my kind of job. But you know, the last time you burned me it was over a man," she said smartly before tossing back the rest of her drink.
"In all honesty though, I accept your offer. I consider myself highly trustworthy and I don't mind complicated. It sounds like you could use all the help you can get, especially with what's going on with the Fated. We need to stick together," the half demon said seriously. After a long pause during which Roxanne appeared to be in serious thought, she added, "It's not going to be ugly though, right?"

Aria actually let out a chuckle; she had a feeling Roxy would have felt disappointed in a good bloodbath. If events had been slightly different Aria would have been disappointed to have missed the fight as well. She nodded in confirmation that Roxy would put up the signs, and quickly; she had no doubt Roxy would be more then capable of handling that. She only opened that Roxy would accept her offer; considering really all that she had to give was knowledge….while when she was younger that was more than enough reason for her to fallow a certain patched eyed king, it might not be for someone with more of a head on their shoulders. However Roxy she considered a friend; if anyone was going to take the shitty ass offer it would likely be her.
Aria was unsure of what the demoness’s response would be; while unsure she definitely wasn’t expecting the retort that came out of her mouth next. Arias face blazed red as the vague memory of execution came back to her. Roxy had kicked her beloved off of the platform….and she had lost her temper at the demoness. Aria scratched the back of her head and looked down at her feet.
”Ya….There’s a story to that”
Aria didn’t have to wait long for Roxy to actually give her real answer; a wave of gratitude washing over Arias features as she stood and gave the older woman a hug. Before moving forward she did wave her hand; a gold glow lighting up the edges of the room as she activated a silencing spell. A laugh escaping her lips when she asked if it was going to be ugly.
”I give you my word as a goddess it will not be ugly, you won’t even know it’s there….though I do apologize it will sting slightly being put on”
Aria placed her palm on Roxanne’s forehead; Arias form was cast in a divine light her eyes took on a gold tone as the light began to intensify around her hand. A power surged from her palm and transferred itself to Roxanne’s forehead. It would sting slightly but no more than a bee’s sting. The mark of the thieves would etch itself into Roxanne’s forehead. This process only took a few seconds before Aria removed her palm; the mark blazed gold for a moment before fading into Roxanne’s skin as if nothing was ever there. As Aria stepped back the light that formed around her body faded and receded back within her; and she plopped back down on her chair with a sigh…creating the mark always made her feel like she had just run a mile….it was tiring but necessary.
”well then…Welcome to the Thieves of Nova.”
The thieves of nova were legendary in fey, and their story was beginning to be known here. However their purpose was and always would be shrouded in mystery to outsiders. [/b]

Roxanne chuckled at Aria's reaction to the reminder, though curiosity flashed across her face at the mention of a further story behind that. She returned the hug in earnest, glad that Aria seemed pleased with her acceptance, although she knew there wasn't really any other answer. There wasn't time to ask yet about the story as Aria accepted her answer and then activated some kind of spell. Her next sentence was surprising and gave the half demon reason to believe the previous spell was probably a silencing of some sort. Roxanne didn't know her friend was a goddess and so her mouth dropped promptly before she hissed briefly as the mark was applied. "That does smart," she growled, rubbing her forehead as Aria officially welcomed her into the Thieves of Nova. Her eyes widened as she looked at the other woman, thoughts flashing in their lavender depths and if Aria was any kind of reader she'd recognize the deluge of questions about to come her way.
"The Thieves of Nova? As in, the mysterious band from Feyurland?" she started, then remembered the earlier promise about the non ugly, now invisible, mark. "And since when are you a goddess?? goddess of what?" The half demon was in state of shock likely unseen by Aria since their time in Fey. "What's the story about the burn?" she continued, then stopped. Roxanne realized she was acting like a mortal. She took a deep breath and collected herself, sitting down back at the table and then looking up at her old friend. "Start at the beginning, please and end with what you want from me, exactly," she requested politely.

Aria gave Roxy an apologetic look; the mark did smart a little. If she could make it painless she would but for some reason her goddess magic never transferred without some pain. Which was why her marks usually were small in design so it would not burn over a large area. She had focused it more to the point where she didn’t need her amulet and could create the mark through skill alone. It was something she had practiced since Rivers had her mark him without the symbol.
Aria went back and sat in her seat; she knew there would be a deluge of questions coming. So she took the time to pick at her food. Sure enough the questions began to spill from Roxy’s mouth in a manner that she remembered that the woman had when she was younger. This caused a chuckle to escape Aria.
”Yes, since I was born, and I don’t know yet.”
Yes that completely answered her questions. An old wicked mischievous glint forming in her eyes. She knew full well those answers were not in the least satisfactory. Even if they did technically answer her questions. She still needed to explain why she had burned Roxy as well, however Roxy had stopped and asked her to begin at the beginning… So it would seem now it was story time.
”The story begins in our time; or I suppose before this time…. When my father Saden came into godhood, Grandpa Lee Lee whom you have met so many times; gave him a test. A woman had called upon the gods for help; for her infant was dying. My father’s test was to either allow the infant to die or to save it. My father loving mortals so chose to save the child…this child was Cain Noru. My father watched Cain grow up closely; he had a certain fondness for the boy I guess. When Cain grew he began to thirst for power and went to my father for knowledge. My father at the time unbeknownst to the others, chose to give Cain knowledge of how to create a terrible weapon, a weapon that could destroy planets and gods….”
Aria closed her eyes as she searched her memory for the bits and pieces she had found out of the story since their time in Fey.
”Cain began in earnest to create the weapon, the only other with the knowledge of the weapons creation was my Father. Who chose not to tell the other gods; his reasoning’s I do not have knowledge of myself….but I have a feeling they weren’t warm and fuzzy……Cain had nearly completed the weapon when he revealed to my father his intentions of turning the weapon upon the gods. My father at this point turned on Cain and told the others….Grandpa was furious….”
They were soon getting to a part of the story that Roxy may have knowledge of due to the fact in their time it was told as a legend.
”Cain at the time was married to a lovely woman; whom was pregnant with two sons. Grandpa, well he’s a firm believer that life can be a worse than death…and his punishments tend to serve multiple purposes; he’s a complicated man to put it nicely…but isn’t life usually complicated? Anyhow he cursed the line of Cain…the only way it is broken is by the love of a goddess. The children would turn into tormented monsters when the curse was activated, unable to tell friend from foe. What happened to one would happen to the other…one was pain and the other sorrow. I believe you have heard the legend of the pain and sorrow twins? Yes?”
They were beginning to step into more familiar territory, up until that, most of the story had been lost in time. The rest of which she would begin to tell was preserved by a certain purple haired menace. Aria reiterated that tale of the two twins along with the weapon hidden deep within nova. Aria left out a lot of the details; as it was she was just given was probably a lot to take in.
”Well the tale of the twins which was thought to be legend in our time is true; and the true purpose of the Thieves of Nova is to see that weapon is not activated...”
That more or less wrapped things up..
”But veering off subject; I do owe you an explanation of why I lashed out at you….The man you attacked is someone very dear to me; he’s my best friend whom I love very much. You attacked someone which I cannot imagine my life without. He has been my guide and my support throughout life; I can honestly say without him I would not be who I am today.”
Arias eyes softened as she spoke of Garrett; though there was a deep seated pain there as well.

Roxanne gave Aria a look at the quick answers. Yes, technically they were answers but they were short and didn't explain anything. She rolled her eyes but let it go, for now, as Aria settled into what seemed to be a lengthy story, and it was. The half demon sat and listened intently, her brow furrowed in concentration. She nodded when Aria paused to ask if she'd heard the story of the twins. Of course she had, everyone in Fey knew that legend. Most people put little stock in it, however, Roxanne had always wondered. Legends always had a basis in truth, after all. By the end of the tale, she felt like she had more questions than answers. Though at least she knew what the goal of this organization she'd joined was and at the end of it all she finally got an explanation concerning the burn. Roxanne was curious though, she noticed the change in Aria when she spoke of this man.
"I now have more questions for you. But first, I have to say that was entirely unfair. I am sorry I attacked someone who obviously means so much to you, but I didn't know that at the time. I had only been here a few hours after being 'Fated' over and hadn't seen you in months since you disappeared. You have to know that if I had known who he was I wouldn't have touched him," Roxanne said, in an almost detached voice. "But why does the thought of him seem to make you both happy and sad at the same time?" She asked gently, concerned for her old friend. After a moment, she continued, changing the subject.
"So if that was the legend in our time, in our version of this world, is it the same here, with the curse? Does that make the purpose of the Thieves the same here as well? How did you find out about all this and manage to get into the thieves? What is the weapon and where is it now?" she asked, curiously. " and What's my role in all of this?" she added after a moment. She'd been trying to find her place in this world since she got here. There was still a lot she didn't know, didn't understand about this world even though she'd been here for months.
Rivers had helped fill in some of the pieces for her, thankfully but she hadn't seen him in months. She knew he kept in contact with Aria. "Can I ask you something unrelated to this? Have you seen Rivers lately? I haven't checked in at Haven yet, but I kind of left without warning and I'm worried he might be mad at me for that." The half demon said, sounding exactly as worried as she said she was and biting her lip in a way that was quite unlike her.

Aria gave Roxy an apologetic smile, no it wasn’t fair….and she recognized it.
”I apologize for that, no it wasn’t fair; I’m just a wee bit protective when it comes to Mine aaannd visa versa…That and I was angry….Although if I hadn’t lashed out would you have just settled for him falling off the platform, or would you have gone for a clean kill?”
Aria knew Roxy’s nature was to probably go for the clean kill; but then again she could be wrong. However at that time she wasn’t taking any chances with Mines life. To her he wasn’t a wait and see if this person does the right thing. But going forward now that Roxy had the knowledge she had she trusted the woman would not go after he beloved. She paused and bit her lip when Roxy asked a more personal question. The wound from her loss was still quite raw; it was only a couple weeks since the incident. Aria seemed to have paused long enough for Roxy had changed the topic; to which she was thankful over...she still had trouble forming words. Aria took a deep breath changing the line of her thought.
”There are points in time that you mortals have a large influence on how the word turns out, a mere decision can alter the course of time for thousands of years…. I believe your time lines were almost linier up until the twins births. Core in this time line does not exist; Noku never had a brother that he grew up with. That point in time and difference may have meant that in this time they weren’t meant to be plagued with the consistent reoccurrence of the center. However Fate, I believe has other plans.”
Aria took a pause, each word carefully thought upon.
”The purpose of the thieves remains the same, though how we operate will differ. We are playing a different game with different pieces this go around….The center is in pieces as it was in our time, however the pieces are both fortunately and unfortunately not a part of living beings now…I’ve been lead to believe that they are possessions. At least that is what Saden has hinted to me in this time. To activate the center a person would have to gather these pieces; sacrifice a thousand innocent lives, and to control it Noru blood must be spilt….to stop it a guilty party aka usually a Noru form the cain line must sacrifice themselves in order to end it. However I suspect that my father being the start of all this shit might place me in a position if it comes to it to end it if it comes to that. Personally I have reason to believe that fate is going after the center of Nova….our battle is against him this round and not Noku.”
Aria ran a hand through her messy hair; really given important speeches looking like a dog just rolled out of bed …it lost its edge somewhat….perhaps she should ask Noku what the hell he did to keep his hair so neat al the time…that man seemed like he’d have a few good hair secrets.
”Now, the reason I suspect fate is…what sort of people could you sacrifice, that no one in this world has any attachments to? They are easily turned on due to the burden they place on society, and they are all conveniently showing up near the conveniently large sacrificial alter?”
Aria tapped her fingers on the table; still picking away at her food in-between pauses.
”The centers pieces are still about I only have a vague idea where one piece is, only due to the fact Saden told me I wasn’t allowed to go take it from him…However I need others to begin the search for the other pieces. The gods shall have them guarded I would suspect; I would not go after these pieces…if someone else does, well then that’s where us thieves come in. We’ll steal the pieces back. Which is why in the mean time I suggest practicing honing up those skills….but we do have a matter to investigate, information pertaining to the curse has been leaked. Frankly this worries both me and Noku seeing how it’s our butts on the line….Noku has sent out a person of his own to investigate. He’ll be poking around for information looking for someone who shows any signs of knowing an inkling about the curse. However, I have been told the person whom attacked Noku was Louie…the man which you met after the execution with the bird. Find him and see if you can beat this diamond fellow into finding out whom leaked that information….if he knows about the curse there are chances he knows of the center.”
Roxy would begin to understand her first mission; and in this case it was to gather information; as she had for where the fated had gone. Roxy proved to be more then capable of discreetly going to gather information, and return successful despite dangerous odds.
”Frankly in this situation you cannot be blunt; I know you to be an intelligent woman…know that if you do leak something about the thieves and the center your mark will automatically be activated….so practice the art of vague answers or infiltrate whatever group Louie may be a part of and find out what you can”
That answered a few of Roxys questions now it was time for how she her self managed to become the king of this little secret group.
”I was sixteen when I was brought into the thieves. Shortly before I met you. I had been arrested for a crime I hadn’t committed…..anyways a man had come to rescue Melania the emperors advisor from the dungeon. She told him to rescue me instead; he complied. I was so beaten at the time I don’t think he recognized me…anyways he broke me out and the guards attacked. He killed a few and as did I….I accidently set a horde of rats on them that ate the men alive…I almost lost myself in a transformation hat day since I hadn’t had any control over my magic. But the Emperor showed up and killed the animals that I was attached to….and then the oddest thing happened. He let me and the man go…. We ran and went our separate way; anyone in the slums know if your running from the guards you split up. Harder to catch you that way….frankly it was a natural habit at that point…. It wasn’t long after that I caught wind the guards were looking for me and had a warrant out for my arrest for suspicion of being a Thief of Nova. Now at that time it was a load of bull; I had no knowledge of the thieves nor was I apart of it. But none the less I was being chased for yet another thing I hadn’t done. The guards had been right on my tail and I had made the decision to jump into the river; now I have always been a good swimmer and I knew the river well….most would have died if they had done what I did but I was desperate. I surfaced somewhere further into the city and crawled my way out when I ran into Adrian….I told him of my predicament and he helped me take on a new persona of a boy named Alex. He cut and died my hair a dark brown and I bound what little chest I had then flat….as I was malnourished at that point anyways I didn’t have much curves to speak of….would be a little hard now wouldn’t it. But anyways that same night the man who had rescued me from the dungeons tracked me down again. I called him out to be the King of the Thieves of Nova, right then and there…probably a shitty idea on my part cause if the king don’t want ya knowing you’re the king then chances are you’re not going to be around much longer to make such accusations. But he extended an offer to join the secretive group course at this point I was in full fuck it if I’m going to be blamed for something might as well do it mode….So I joined without further question……I make horrible life decisions that way....So off I went with this strange dangerous man with questionable ethics and associations.”
Aria chuckled a little, the memory was now a fond one for her…as it was not the first time she had blindly come to Garrett….first time he bribed her with candy. It was a miracle that she was still alive considering her life choices.
”I became quite attached to that king; later I would also become quite attached to the king before him…Core. During a quest to which a large group of us was summoned, we discovered Nova’s past…. And about the center. The city of Nova was preserved in time the moment it ended, along with the two twins….Noku and Core….I ended up taking Cores sword and wouldn’t you know it, the old King of Thieves soul was still trapped in it. Since that moment I had Core with me, I spelled the sword so it could form a tattoo like my dagger…course this gave Core almost free reign of my head….and body….either way it’s been a learning adventure. More poor life choices that ended up well.”
Aria stopped her story when Roxy asked about Rivers, a frown etching itself onto her face.
”Rivers has left; he is or should I say was mad at me…though I doubt he remembers that now. He was to be my third in command however he forced me to have to activate his mark…I should have done it when he disobeyed my orders the first time; but he chose to leave the thieves…I was left with no other choice”

Roxanne accepted Aria's apology, chuckling a little at the end question. "Honestly? I mean, as long as he was out of the way, I probably would've left him alone. But who's to say really. We weren't there to kill everyone, you know, even if that's kind of what happened. I understand though, why you did it. I can be a little unpredictable," she said, briefly before Aria continued with her story.
It was quite a lot to take in all at once, bits and pieces sounding vaguely familiar but much of her time in Fey was lost still to her. Really, she needed to work on this poor memory issue. Her demon half had suppressed a lot in effort to force her to lose herself, and had succeeded for a time. Getting it all back would take time as well. Roxanne listened though, slowly connecting the dots. Fate, the god, had brought them here then as sacrifices for this weapon. No one knew them, except each other of course. She doubted that Fate had counted on them fighting back, though. That led her to wonder... "Aria. There wasn't a Thieves of Nova here before you arrived was there? Who started it? and what happened to the original King of Thieves? Is he the same guy that you're clearly in love with?" she asked, quickly putting quite a few things together.
It also became obvious what the half demon's next assignment was and she sighed. "I did meet Louie, briefly. That guy is crazy, but he's got a way about him that suggests a hidden genius. I'm good at getting information, but I usually do that with direct questions, bribs, and certain other measures. Being sneaky isn't really my style and how do you ask about something without being able to talk about it?" she questioned, then thought of something else. "Where am I going to find Louie? I haven't even seen him since that whole disaster happened." Roxanne didn't expect this to be easy by any means. If it were, Aria probably would've picked someone else. But she was going to need all the intel that Aria knew about this man, and perhaps some lessons in 'how to be a spy 101'.
Aria paused in her story finally to explain about Rivers. Roxanne frowned, her breath catching a little at the news. "That is...unfortunate. So, he has no memory of anything now? but he's walking around with this mark on his forehead, with no memory of where it came from?" she asked, clearly upset. Rivers wouldn't remember her, then, and was gone. She understood that Aria had to do what was necessary. The whole thing about the Thieves was that were a legend, a shadow no one ever quite saw. Anyone from the outside knowing about them would jeopardize their work. If he had disobeyed orders, Aria's orders.... "It's you, isn't it. You're the King of Thieves."
