Let the Training Begin

Lucinda listened as Adrain explained more about elementals, a thoughtful look on her face and a small frown resting on her pink lips. "That makes sense but it sounds terribly tricky. I"m not sure I'll ever be that proficient in water magic or powerful," she said, then looked surprised as Adrain added the new information about the mana siphon. "Well, that doesn't sound too bad though I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with that. Still, I suppose one can't expect them to work for nothing," she said, musing. Lucinda wasn't quite convinced about the 'not feeling it' part but she supposed that it didn't matter at the moment anyway. She was no where close to being able to do such things, after all, she was just a little beginner.

The princess let out a small squeal and a giggle as Adrain scooped her up and spun her about. She smiled up at him for a moment before he leaned down to whisper in her ear. A wide grin settled on her face along with a blush that was red enough to rival Aria's hair. "That would certainly be quite sweet, perhaps in more ways than one," Lucinda replied, clearly somewhat at a loss for words. Instead of trying to come up with something sassy, when the mage stepped back, the princess followed him. She wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing herself against his slender form, and reaching up for a kiss. His compliance would result in a deep and tender kiss before she pulled away.

After the moment had passed and they were again focused on her amplifier, Lucinda allowed him to take her hand, watching as he pointed out the rings and chains. It certainly was an interesting invention. She looked intrigued when he mentioned making her a customized one. "You can do that?" she asked, surprised. Though she wasn't sure why. They were his invention, after all. "That sounds like a wonderful idea and I would appreciate it," Lucinda amended, as she slid the rings on and off to get an idea of it.

"You can if you wish. There is no limit of natural ability in most cases, just effort." Adrain says in response to Lucinda's doubts about her power and potential. He could tell that she was hesitant about the elemental idea and decided to let it drop for now. It was only worth really going into if Lucinda wanted in any case, and it definitely wasn't a requirement for any mage to use an elemental. Some figure they are more trouble than they're worth.

"Oh? Perhaps it's time to treat your body like a candy maker then." he teases, sort of realizing that wasn't the best flirty line, but he was being stupid anyway acting overly horny right now. It hardly mattered what he said as long as Lucinda would be amused. When Lucinda recoiled and leaned up for a kiss, he obliged, then smiling as he strokes her hair for a moment, not saying anything. It was fun to mess with the princess though there would be a slight nudge against her that might cause her to redden more.

"It's not really any different from a staff focus." Adrain says when the subject of the amplifier came up once more. "It's probably far more effective as a small unit versus a staff, but tradition makes for stubborn old wizards who insist others still use that method. It simply hones in water mana, though it makes other spells a little more difficult to cast if and when you get to the point you can use other elements."

Lucinda just nodded as Adrain assured her that there wasn't a limit to natural ability. It seemed to her as if he thought she had potential, but she let the subject drop, not really having much else to say on the matter. She was pleased, though, and gave the mage a little smile.

The princess laughed at Adrain's now obvious weak attempt at flirting, her bell like tone filling the space. She thought he was being more amusing than trying to actually flirt with her, at this point, but she still appreciated it. Lucinda was quite happy when he kissed her back, reveling in his touch as he stroked her hair. She sighed happily, content for the moment, until she noticed the tell tell nudge. Lucinda looked up at Adrain, blushing, but with her eyebrow quirked and a small smile on her face. It was obvious she was pleased with the affect she seemed to have on the archmage.

She tried to pay attention as the conversation shifted back to the amplifier, nodding."That makes a lot of sense but this seems to work pretty well and is at least a little less conspicuous. I think I should probably focus on mastering water before I worry about any of the other elements, though," she replied, musing. Lucinda was quite pleased enough that she was just able to perform magic at all, let alone anything complicated, and that came through in her tone and her facial expression.
