After almost a year Kail returned to his first home he had. It was a rather somber moment at that fact, since the housemates he had lived with. Vanished like dust in the wind and to never be seen again. The farmhouse had fallen into some disrepair and now he had returned and knew if he was going back and forth. Kail would need to get this house repaired and functional again and be a rather comfortable place to stay. The blond walked into the house and saw the inside of the house was not that bad. It would be ok to live in but there would be some drafts and such. Kail sat on his bed and placed some of his items in there. It was still daylight out and with the afternoon sun started to draw on what he wanted to do on modifying the house. Since he was now the only one now to make a full claim on the home. For the most part he would take down the barn and replace it with a lab/workshop like he originally wanted to do. He was also was going to make a pizza oven. Kail was also drawing out some other things to mimic a modern kitchen or something from his time. Even if he had to use magic to do so.
Kail on a few other pieces of paper was doing some calculations on how much it was going to cost. He was also trying to figure out on how he could rent the land off and get the money for it. The blond then heads in to the house and flops into his comfortable chair. Sighing a bit and placed his notes and his drawings on a near by table. He was still depressed about the world, there were some highs but they came crashing so hard that it sometimes did not matter at all. Kail was lost again on what his purpose was to the world at large. "*sighs*.......sometimes I feel so small in this world. And yet I can't keep friends around me. Either they leave or they joined that......that.......wench" he said still having hatered for that red head.

Serenity had never been to the farm house, but it had been mentioned to her in the past. She recalled a memory where she and Kail had been enjoying drinks with Rivers once upon a time, and he’d told her to stop by if she’d ever wanted to. Of course she’d never gotten the chance, with the war that had happened, and then he’d moved. If she was being honest with herself, she didn’t quite know why she decided to visit it now. Of course she would have no way of knowing that her friend was even in the house when she arrived. In her knowledge, he still lived in his workshop back in Bane. But she was feeling strange, and had taken a walk. This big old farm house had caught her eye, and she immediately remembered whom it belonged to. She knocked quietly, but no one had answered. Letting herself in, she quickly came to the conclusion that it was empty now.
She wandered the house, only feeling a little bit weird about it; it was abandoned now, right? Looking around couldn’t do much harm. She wandered up the stairs when she heard a voice, stopping her in her tracks. Quietly, she moved towards the sound of the voice, letting out a sigh when she recognized it for who it was. So much for abandoned. She took a moment to think about his words, before knocking quietly on the doorframe, announcing her presence. Not all your friends leave… Serenity spoke softly, her accent filling the otherwise tense room. She wasn’t sure who the “wench” was that he was referring to, so she didn’t comment there.

Kail had dozed off just for a second until he heard someone walk in. He could hear the creaking of the stairs and that alerted him. The blond reached into one of his sheathes and pulled out one of his knives. Then heard Serenity speak up and did not want to deal with her. But eventually knew that they were going to cross paths. "Meh....I must have a curse or something on me. And at this point I don't know if appologizing would even fix things...at this point" he said and reached into his bag and pulled out a drinking cask from his very large traveling bag. He just drank some water from it and closed it. For him it seemed that he had a love hate relationship with everyone in some way. Plus the fact that he can't keep some people around him for long. He was not sure at this point with Serenity since his actions may have went too far. But he was still pissed at the situation, the blond knew the amount of blackmail that could be used on him from that event. This truely made him more uneven with Serenity as she worked for Aria. He knew behind that woman's smileling demeaner she was absolutely cut throat and would use any means to get her objectives done. Perhaps he was a paranoid son of a gun, but in a ruthless world like Nova. You had to constantly watch your back so a knife does not find its self in one's back.
"So whats up" he asked Serenity. Not sure where to take the conversation at this point. As the male had always been uneasy with relations to people. Since most misunderstood him and was to the point of saying forget it and not make friendships or relationships in general.

Serenity took one look at Kail and had to look down at her feet. All it took was one look at his face to know he didn’t want her there. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, the rest of her unruly red mane curling down over her shoulders. Her normally refined pale face was turning pink. When he began to speak, she kept her eyes cast down, not wanting to cry. In the lull of silence after, she turned her back to the doorframe, leaning against it with her back, her arms crossed over her chest and her face at a sideways view to Kail’s.
“So what’s up.” Serenity frowned. Kail never was one for confrontation. She tilted her head up to look at the ceiling, a sad look in her eyes. All she could think of, was how far they’d come. Remember when we first met? I had just been flashed into this death zone of a world, and you were the soul to greet me. I was so rude to you. Hell, I was rude to everyone. Yet, despite me lashing tongue, you stuck with me and helped me. Serenity took a deep breath, keeping her eyes up at the ceiling. I wonder why that was. You decided to stick with a person who was so incredibly rude to you, based on your looks alone. She smiled bitterly. Of course that changed, I quickly took a liking to you and thus my speech towards you altered drastically. She laughed softly, finally turning her head to smiled sadly at him, for the first time meeting his eyes.
We have been friends since my very first day here. You stuck with me through my bitchiness, through my loving you, and through your hatred of Rivers. And I’ve stuck with you through your temper, your bad choice of words and your disapproving of my choices. We’ve fought time and time again… She shook her head, turning her eyes away again, not able to stop the tear or two the slid down her cheek. But we always stick by each other. Her accent grew thicker the more emotional she got, so by this point ( she wasn’t terribly emotional yet ) it was decently thick. So why on earth do you think apologizing wouldn’t fix things. Her tone turned slightly frustrated her, narrowing her eyebrows at her blonde friend, wishing she had something light to throw at his shoulders.

Kail motioned for Serenity to sit on the bed as he turned the chair to face her. It took him a bit to speak as he was trying to get his throughts together. The look that Serenity gave him, stabbed him a little in the heart. That and her voice breaking down "I think I might have went too far that night.....lately I feel that my kindness is being ripped away. As more and more I see this of this world. I only see that might makes right and you can't show any weakness or your preyed apon and a dagger in your back. And slowly I am not caring anymore.....as this place is so cut throat. It makes monsters out of people. On top of that there divine beings or are assholes. I mean yeah there gods but at least some are merciful" he said and went silent for a bit. Kail drank a bit more water before speaking a bit more "So lately I've been alone and away from most people.....maybe I am losing touch with things. Always looking behind one's shoulder trying to worry about someone getting me while trying to enjoy something. Its been several months since I have had anything fun. I've been either working or training. Heck......I don't know what is fun during this time period" he said and just looked a bit frustrated.
The blond goes into his bag and pulls something out and it was a very well crafted gold challice with several jewels and some other inlay work. "Here......this is for you. I got this while doing a job and raided a few things from a treasure room. Happy Bilated Birthday......and I am sorry for what I said at the springs" he said and placed the item on the bed.

Hesitantly, Serenity moved off of her perch against the door frame, and crawled onto the middle of the bed, tucking her legs off the the side, her dress hiking up her calves. She was thankful when Kail finally spoke. But the more he spoke, the more she wanted to interrupt him, to correct him and prove him wrong. She didn’t want to believe that’s how he saw the world… The world she’d been training so hard to love and be apart of. But she didn’t interrupt him like she so often did, and instead allowed him to go on, getting all he needed to out of his system.
Killian… We have seen two very different sides of this world… And I hate that you’ve been sucked into the darker half of it. I’ve seen the darkness too, but I escaped it. I decided to make a life for myself here, since I so clearly would never make it home. I wish I could somehow help you do that… So then you wouldn’t suffer as you do. She sighed, looking up at his face. But regardless of if that ever happens, I need you to understand something. No matter the darkness you encounter in this world, I will always be here with you. We may fight and bicker, but you are my only family in this world, my only friend. I’m not losing you over something stupid, when without you, this world gets a lot scarier. If you want something fun to do, we should hang out more, go out together. You’d be happy to know i can be a fantastic wing-woman. Serenity laughed lightly, a hopeful smile on her face. When all was said and done, all she wanted was to see him smile again.
When Kail pulled out her present, Serenity lifted her hands to cover her face, her cheeks turning pink. After a moment, she picked it up delicately, turning it to see it from every angle. Oh Kail… I love it. Honestly, it’s absolutely beautiful… Thank you… For the gift, and for remembering my birthday at all… You were the only one who knew. Serenity smiled softly, moved from her spot on the bed to stand, placing the chalice back down, and turning to Kail. Without warning, she moved to hug him while he sat down, more as a thank you for the gift than anything else. She held her arms around him tightly, not leaving room for him to weasel out of it like he always did.

"......I mean yeah.....I've made some kind of living here as well. But lately I have been in the thick of it....and I am tired of being push around. Hell your the only one that sees how far I have come in this world and no one else gives me credit. Or just respect in general....all they see is some young moron that has issues. Well I mean doesn't everyone have issues.......and I don't know how you can help" Kail as as he watched Serenity situate herself on his bed. He was honestly not sure how anyone could help him in this kind of problem. As this was rather personal in general as no one could fully understand him on these things. Serenity had paused before speaking again and understood what she had and had to have a small chuckle at the end. "It takes me at least a few days walk from my place in bane to Nova. I'm not using that thing from Rivers. I don't trust it lately, so I don't know how to cut the travel time" he said being honest on the traveling part. He was trying to find something that would give him a shorter amount of time to travel to and from.
Though after he revealed the item he saw the light within Serenity shine brightly. As she liked the gift he had given to her what he did not expect was the hug. At first he was not sure what to do at this point. Kail would be verry limp in Serenity's arms for the moment and would return the hug. The blond would be blushing a lot since, he was still confused on what to do.

Who needs them? Kail, anyone who doesn’t know who you are, and what you’ve done for yourself and everyone else, doesn’t have the damn right to be judging you in the first place. I know it’s hard, but ignore those idiots. You do deserve so much respect! I know it’s not enough, but I respect you so much; all your work, how you help new Fated… all of it. You’re an amazing person hun. Serenity ranted lightly. You’re right to say everyone has issues. And I don’t know how I can help either, but I just need you to know that I’m here. Even if there isn’t anything specific I can do to help you along, just remember that I am always in your corner. Serenity smiled softly, remembering what it was like to have no one… or feel like you had no one.
Achieving a chuckle from the blonde brightened Serenity’s smile instantly. The tunnels? They stopped working anyhow. Which is why I’m never in bane anymore. I don’t feel like traveling that far; sorry. You’re always free to visit my house though. I have a sweet little cottage in the first district. And room for one more if you ever need it. Serenity beamed at him, liking the light humour they had.
When she hugged him she laughed at how still her was in her arms, like a limp noodle. Thankfully, he soon returned the hug, his arms coming up around her. She tightened her arms around him, prolonging the hug for a moment more now that he was finally participating. Don’t you ever disappear on me. I need you too much. She whispered softly while she hugged him. Her voice was still emotional, but she reined it in soon after, pulling out of the hug and kissing his cheek.

"Perhaps its the pride that I have as a man. As well as the fact I was bullied and picked apon in my world. So again I feel that I have something to prove. So I think....with some of the rants I have. Its that those I think of on friendly terms should give me the same level of mutual respect as I try and give them" said Kail and went back to his thoughts. As he was trying to think how this red head could help him at all. Since he was at a loss again and then heard about her offer about coming by her place. "Honestly with the amount of money I have. I might be able to buy a flying mount or a really good horse. I'm thinking of getting this place back in working order, so I have a home while being in Nova he said. When Serenity did hug and he was hugging back, Kail reflected a bit. As the blond had problems with some physical affections to others. Especially with a woman like Serenity and was pulled out of his revear as she asked for him not to vanish. That was after the kiss to the cheek and tried to keep some of his embarsment down and the slight tinge to his cheeks.
"Hey look, I'm not gona vanish with out a trace. Or bite the bucket, if I do I rather go out in a bang." Kail tried to make himself be a lot more confident. It seemed that there was slightly something wrong with Serenity. Perhaps some of the people they knew were vanishing from them. He was contemplating on where to lead the conversation next since, Kail was stumbling a bit to get something out to talk about.

Serenity nodded, listening to his explanation. That could be part of it. But you don’t have anything to prove… honestly Kail, I love you to pieces, but the main thing that turns people away from you, is how easily angered you are. It scares them, or pisses them off in turn- hell I’ve been one of those people. As your friend, I do try and I do think I’ve achieved, giving you the same respect you give me- at least now I do. I know in the past I was less than friendly. Serenity tucked some hair behind her ear, blushing for a moment, knowing full well she used to be far worse than him for anger. I’m not saying you need to change… I just think you need to be more confident. If they don’t like you- fuck em. Who need them anyways? Serenity shrugged offering a small smile.
Yes go on, gloat about your riches to the poor folk. We love it. Serenity laughed, teasing him lightly. But honestly, if you do take this place back, I’ll help you decorate it to make it look like a home, and not an abandoned murder house. She grinned again, looking around the room. It was nice, but the eery look didn’t go away for her.
During the hug, Serenity smiled to herself. She never really got close to Kail, every time she tried he backed away, mentally or physically. Not that she blamed him. It wasn’t that long ago that she claimed to love him and tried to jump his bones- not one of her finer moments. When she pulled away and saw his blush, a fond smile spread on her lips. he was so sweet. Good. I don’t think I could handle loosing the only other person I consider family. I know you hated him, or hate… i guess. But Rivers was family to me. With him gone…. You’re all I have left. So please… stop pushing me out? I don’t need to see into your mind and soul or anything, but… I’ve known you for over a year now, and honestly… I could probably list on both hands how many things I know about you. Serenity sat back down on the bed with a huff. So just… let me be apart of your life? And you know… warn me if you want to leave… I can’t take another disappearing act. I really can’t. Serenity looked down at her lap for a moment, her face red as she held back tears. Her voice was still strong, but her eyes stung lightly.
