"No, I don't think so. You've quite a few admirable qualities that the veil of ice conceals, if anything I consider myself fortunate to see some of those attributes once in awhile." he says with a soft smile not having overly noticed the fact Melda was watching his eyes, perhaps due to his own fatigue and general sleepiness. When Melda insisted that she would tell the king eventually about the fact she had abilities, he could just nod and trust her to handle that how she would. She was definitely more than capable.
"Well in any case, if I can help with that somehow do let me know." he says, leaving an open offering as he busied himself with his task of feeding the cat. As Melda protested that he wasn't causing trouble, he only could nod once more and leave it to her judgment. He expected Serai to scamper off once his food was placed but he could hear a bit of a tussle.
As he turned behind, his eyes widened and glew more brightly as he realized Melda's state of dress was turned into a state of undress as he snapped to attention a second later and turned away, glaring at Serai. "You clumsy cat!" he scolds, then putting a palm over his face. "I'm so sorry Melda...uh..." he says, facing away from Melda as he sidestepped and moved across the kitchen to a hallway and then making his way down, entering a room off to the side.
A sound of rustling and frantic movement could be heard as he emerged a short time later, keeping his eyes closed and holding a black robe in his hands, stretching it out to Melda, averting his eyes from her admittedly lovely form. "Uh here...it's a magesilk robe, it should be comfortable....and durable. I uh...will reimburse you for Serai's recklessness of course." he says then gesturing to the hall behind Melda.
"The room on the left in the hall is the lavatory..." he says, either remaining turned away as Melda would likely move. The lavatory itself would be very clean, marble floor and sides with a magic bathing pool using water and fire crystals off to the side. It would be otherwise unremarkable.
When Melda would come out eventually, Adrain would be sitting on one of the chairs in the living area upon the cushioned leather one, a fire having been started of the magical variety as the furnace would be aglow with alit fire crystals. He kept his hands over his eyes whether in anticipation of Melda or disbelief.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda smiled. Well thank you… If I’m being honest, it’s nice to be able to relax like this around someone. Theres only really two people aside from you that I get to be. She shrugged and took another sip of tea. When he offered his assistance, she simply smiled again, nodding her head in acceptance.
With his back turned and the entire cufuffle happened, Melda was left standing awkwardly, her mouth gaping open as she slowed her heart beat. When Adrain did finally turn around, he would see a very bright red woman, a clear embarrassed look on her face. She stared at his face when he looked at her, blinking at the sight of his eyes getting brighter for a moment. Thankfully he didn’t stare at her long, and scolded the cat. Like a gentlemen, he concealed his eyes, saving Melda further embarrassment.
As he held to robe out to her, Melda had to let go of one of the pieces of fabric in her hand. But which one? How could she choose between the piece holding up the top half, or the piece connected to the bottom half? Neither was preferable. With a reluctant sigh, Melda released the top half, and it slumped down her shoulders and chest, resting at her waist with the bottom half. She accepted the robe graciously, quickly holding it up over her chest, though her back would still be completely visible to her waist. T-thank you Adrain. Don’t worry about the dress, it was made of a cheap fabric anyhow. Melda rushed out, her face burning.
Thankfully, Adrain gave her directions to the lavatory, saving her the embarrassment of changing with him in the room. She walked where he said, shutting the door behind her. Placing the robe on the counter and looking around, needing to collect herself again. The room was stunning, and the bathes looked like they were calling to her, giving promises of relaxation and peace. But Melda snapped out of it, needing the change and head back out to see him. she took a deep breath, stripping herself of the rest of the tattered dress, pulling the robe on instead and tying it up tight. After one more moment, she opened the door, heading back out to Adrain.
She found him on a chair in the living room, still covering his eyes. He really was a gentlemen. You can open your eyes again…Thank you Adrain. Melda muttered, moving to sit in another chair a little bit away from him. This is twice now you’ve seen me in an inappropriate manner such as a robe. Melda looked at him, her face still pink, but some of the sass was returning, as she needed to hide her embarrassment some how.

"Well, then I owe you a favor of some kind for the embarrassment." Adrain says, his cheeks ever so slightly reddened by the bits he saw before he was obligated to turn away. The sounds of Serai eating were evident but the large cat was out of sight at the moment. He briefly scowled in the direction of the exotic animal before facing away whilst Melda ran off. All in all, he had to admit she had a toned body under her clothes, even if he wasn't necessarily meant to have seen it.
Impure thoughts. Impure thoughts begone. He mentally scolded himself for the instinctual thought and busied himself with the setting of the fire. It wasn't until Melda came out he really turned his attention back to anything other than trying to maintain a clear mind. When she stated it was the second time he had seen as much, he let out a weak laugh. Even in the robe Melda's figure was evident and once more he had to remain pure of mind.
"Well I'll refrain from putting a mental image in a display crystal and keeping it around as a way to embarrass you later." he says, clearly joking on that matter. "Though this creates a small complication in returning you to the castle, the wards would prevent me from sending you directly to your room not that I know where it is in the first place." he says with a small sigh.
"Once again, I'm quite sorry you've been put into this situation." he states calmly, then standing up. "Would you like more tea? I can put Serai in one of the other rooms to make sure he doesn't invent a way to destroy that if it would be any peace of mind." he states walking back to the kitchen area. [/b]

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda just choked out a laugh at his comment, griping to the fabric tighter in her fists. Thankfully, moments later she was able to run away to the lavatory to fix herself. After returning and sitting down, Melda maintained a steady thought of “Deep breaths… your heart will calm down soon.”, so as to slow her incredibly heart rate. It wasn’t often she was so embarrassed by something, bit Serai had really hit the jackpot there.
Oh well yes I would greatly appreciate that you don’t do that, you ass. Melda choked out another laughed, a real smile appearing on her face. How is it he was able to make her feel comfortable again after such an endeavour? Melda shifted in her seat, listening to him while also self consciously trying to make the robe less clingy. She was no stranger to her own looks, and although she was once a time she flaunted them, this was far from that time- hell that time had ended centuries ago. While she thought about that, the “dream” she’d played a part in sprung to mind again, causing her to want to face palm and began blushing all over again. Thankfully, Adrain had stood up by this point.
Yes… Would it be alright if I used a spare room here? If I of all people returned to the castle like this… well I would never hear the end of it. Melda sighed, still preoccupied in her thoughts of before. Oh, may I have more tea please? That sounds lovely. And don’t worry about Serai- he didn’t mean any harm… he was just… excited I guess. Food is the most important thing. Melda said that last bit sarcastically, shaking her head to no one as Adrain was in another room. While she waited for him to return, she watched the fire he’d created, enjoying the dance of the flames. Hey Adrain… I’ve come to realize, you know a bit more about me than I do of you. Would you mind fixing that some? Your past does interest me. Melda spoke absent mindedly, as though this thought was coming from no where specifically, while in reality, it was a very loaded question. Was she just to assume everything that Kalonis guy had said? What if it was some screwed up ARC thingy? Melda supposed the only way to figure that out without asking, was to poke around that information.

He simply chuckled slightly as Melda got flustered and amused, calling him an ass at the joke that he had made moments before. It was genuine, not sheltered behind a mask which made it more pleasurable to hear the amused laugh. He noted that she had gone red faced for some reason as he got up but he didn't make mention of it. Perhaps it was along the lines of not being used to seen genuine and not the Duchess persona.
At the mention of asking to stay in a room, he had to think for a few moments. This wasn't a contingency he was prepared for. Melda would have right to a room, but it wouldn't be furnished and getting the relevant things isn't an option at this hour. He busies himself with preparing more tea for Melda as he then exhales coming to the next best idea.
"Well, there aren't any spare rooms prepared right now, and even the guest suites are shut down and being refurbished right now in anticipation of the new academic year since Magus Velsul wanted to add things. I can let you stay here, you can use my bed and I'll likely busy myself in my laboratory the rest of the night." he says casually, not having much inhibition about the idea that Melda might. At Serai's name mention, the large cat wanders over and puts his head on the cushion near Melda but not touching her almost having a guilty look in his eyes.
When Melda asked about his past, there was an audible pause in the sense that he stopped what he was working on for a moment before sighing a little. "It's...complicated, doubly so now that I am a noble. You see...the past twenty years I've been working at the Arch, being the father of the glyph method of spellcasting which simplifies the art considerably as well as advancing the cause of magic's place in the world as a force of good and not something to be afraid of. Before that...well, I don't know..." he says, his eyes becoming downcast. There was some hesitance in his voice but he got over it in short order.
"I woke up near a temple on death's door as one of the priestesses said with a large hole in my chest, they tended to me and healed me which took about two weeks to do in which I was in a coma. When I woke up...I couldn't remember anything beforehand. When they saw me able to use magic as casually as breathing air, they said I had an unprecedented gift and I should go to the Arch." he says, then remaining with a downcast look.
"In the past, I used to be really concerned about the parts I couldn't remember, it felt as if something important was lost forever to the sands of time...but as I gained a status and role here that need faded. From time to time I would get dreams or brief visages of things I don't understand, a world where the society embraced magic to it's full potential, people who might have been family or friends, some more...unpleasant scenes. I did meet someone who claims to know more about it, but they refuse to tell me saying something like I don't want to know. One can only wonder, what could be so horrible as to conceal the past from someone that you otherwise seem to treat like close family almost." he says with a sigh.
"Sorry if that's a lot or something...I suppose the reason I told you this much is that your reaction may be a good indicator of how others might see that. I don't normally go into those details with anyone, but I feel like I can trust you enough at least for that." he says, then returning and offering the tea to Melda before taking his own seat and waiting for the response.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Upon Adrains compromise, Melda blinked a few times, nat particularly stunned by the offer, but silenced by it. She took a moment to think- of course he would offer, she was a lady of high standing, yet for some reason, she hadn’t assumed he would. He was definitely the type, yet her mind felt… shocked by it. She cleared her throat, blinking again. I appreciate the offer, but I wouldn’t want to put you out- its far to early in the night for you to remain awake until tomorrow. Melda waved her hand at the offer. She turned her head to Serai, who’d just arrived, and shook her head. You’re a little trouble maker. She scolded lightly, smiling after a moment and patting his head.
She continued to pet the cat, so long as he let her, while waiting for Adrain’s response. There was a long enough pause, that Melda knew she may have struck a cord. When he did start speaking, Melda turned to look at him, her hand still petting Serai absently. While he explained, Melda nodded along, her eyes widening the moment he admitted he didn’t know. From then on out, Melda heard him, but it sounded slightly hollow- her mind was elsewhere again. Back with Kalonis. Everything he’d said… None of it was an illusion. Melda blinked back to the present, and made a slightly sour face. After a moment or so more of listening, Melda cocked her head to the side. Someone else knew? Oh yes… Kalonis did mention Aria… She made another mental note to potentially approach the red head about it.
When Adrain apologized for telling her all of it, Melda simply shook her head, a small smile reaching her lips. Honestly… Adrain, you don’t need to hide a single thing. You’re past is a mystery to you, and yet you still found a way to move forward- thats an accomplishment. Whether people know about it or not, it shouldn’t matter. You are who you are, and you got here with your past making you up to who you are today. No matter what could have happened, the man you are now displays that it couldn’t have been all bad. You’re not bitter enough for it to have been. Melda responded slowly, connecting her own thoughts on Kalonis said, to her response now.

"For most people maybe, as a shadow innate mana user, I draw energy from darkness and as such can easily maintain with less sleep plus I imagine I was out for a few hours. I have a couch in my laboratory anyway and it would be absolutely not gentlemanlike to have a lady as yourself sleep uncomfortably." he says, insisting with a small smile to reassure Melda. "Besides I think I was asleep for a couple of hours by the time I woke up in the ARC so I'm perfectly fine."
Serai makes a faint growl sound but behaves staying still for Melda to do as she wished, the cat seemingly aware that it had caused mischief. When Adrain had finished his tale and listened to Melda, he laughed softly.
"Well thanks mummy dearest for the kind words." he says coyly, obviously teasing before he shifts to a more serious expression and exhales.
"The whole success despite all setbacks things makes for a great story, but if I were to say wed or something with one in the noble court then somewhere down the line questions might come up. Research into lineage would find no real records of Kaiaru name, and truthfully I don't even know what my age is. I look mid twenties maybe to human, but I haven't felt anything in the time I can remember resembling aging. It makes me wonder if I am even a human." he says, exhaling once more.
"I probably worry too much about it." he states, then leaning back and watching Melda. "Sooner or later though if such a place still exists perhaps you would show me the elven land you originate from? I still mean what I say that I want to observe Elven culture but the reclusiveness makes that difficult. Though I suppose that assumes you hadn't lived in Nova your whole life so apologies if I am off base there." he states, referring to Melda's past but willing to continue discussion if Melda sees fit.

As Adrain spoke a small smile reached her lips. How was so so honestly kind? When he finished, she sighed in defeat. We'll if you absolutely insist... then I graciously accept your offer. Melda nodded, the smile inching a bit bigger. She was going to be staying in his room... on his bed. Melda blinked, bringing herself back to reality again, instantly turning pink. What was wrong with her? She was having thoughts like a hormone driven teenage girl! Scolding herself mentally, Melda brought her attention back to Adrain, laughing sarcastically at his remark. Oh please, I am definitely not your mother. Nor do I want to be- you're too much of a brat. Melda jested, having obvious other reasons as well.
As their conversation takes a more serious turn again, Melda sips at her tea, smiling from the warmth it brought her. In that moment she looked so relaxed, so serene... the light from the fire he'd built, combined with the robe, with her silver hair so similar to his, resting softly over her shoulders, and with the smile on her face from the tea... if photography existed, it would have been a shot of a lifetime.
She raised her eyes to meet his, listening as he spoke. Instantly she wanted to tell him everything- spill the whole truth- but it wasn't time. Adrain... the only solution to that problem that I can think of- on the hypothetical that you will marry- find someone who you can be 100% honest with, who accepts your past completely and therefore won't look into the rest when there would be no reason to. And even if it turns out you aren't human- who cares. I'm not human and I'm doing just fine. Melda offered her advice with a warm and genuine smile, her purple and blue eyes sparkling softly. At the mention of her elven home, she blinked in surprise.
Oh! Yes of course. It's quite a journey from here though. But I'd be happy to being you someday. I have to been back there since- Melda stopped for a moment. Since Luke died. She smiled, continuing and then drinking more of her tea, eyes turning to the dancing fire.

"Good that settled, hopefully it'll meet your standards." he says, admittedly not having a better comment to end the 'oh I insist' conversation upon. He yawns a little, missing Melda's young reaction at first, but seeing it to the end. "Are you overly warm? You look flush." he inquires knowing she was next to the fireplace and either feigning innocence or actually innocent.
When Melda had that serene, photographic moment, Adrain looked at her for a moment mesmerized that she had this softer, feminine side to her. It never really hit him as much since Melda's general posture and disposition never emitted that sort of aura. He blinks a couple of times to refocus, listening to Melda about acceptance and understanding.
"Well you got that out of a book didn't you?" he says with a coy chuckle, noting how cliche it sounded with a touch of humor. "Still, it's a very large blank to fill in that I either have to fabricate which I dislike lying or be treated as some sort of unknown. You seem very accepting of that fact, despite the fact you usually have such a high opinion of the role and example nobility is supposed to display. Perhaps I've always overestimated the extent to which everything is known to others in the court of either gossip or public record." he states, rolling his shoulder a bit.
As Melda mentioned it would be some time to reach the elven lands, he smirked...transportation was hardly an issue between his portals and the ways he could conjure fast transportation, but when her tone dampened a little, he frowned.
"Ah...I see, well, I apologize I hope I didn't bring forth any bad memories." he says, noting that it must have been her husband from before. Shifting the subject slightly, he spoke once more.
"In any case, if and when we do make such a trip it shouldn't be an issue between my portal abilities and some form of magical transport once we get as close as I can open the portal. Perhaps I should begin to look more seriously into the work of a...well...I don't know what to call it. I've spoken with fated whom describe a flying boat or ship powered my some machination. I have a theory in mind for how to execute such a thing, but I wonder whether such a creation would benefit or harm the world more." he says, trailing off in thought for a moment, looking to a window out at the night sky where stars faintly twinkled in from behind the leaves from time to time as the wind blew.
Serai meanwhile seemed content and curled up on the floor, part of him across Melda's feet serving as a foot warmer whether through intent or not. The large cat's tail swishes periodically as he remained motionless drifting into sleep until something alerted him.

Melda Delsaran Vanya I’m sure it will be just fine. Melda assured, knowing under any other circumstances that she very well may have demanded the finest. However, given that she came here of her own free will, in the middle of the night, she couldn’t afford to be picky. Plus she didn’t like giving off a stuck up vibe to her friends. When Adrain commented on the flushed skin, Melda’s skin simply burned harder. Warm? No, I’m alright.. Thank you. Must just be the lighting. Melda responded a little faster than she’d intended to. It must be the late hour- it was making it harder to think, and thus her usual composure was slipping further. She didn’t even know what time it was anymore.
I most certainly did not. Melda scolded, a largely sarcastic look on her face. I know… I can’t imagine how difficult it must be, going through life not knowing the truth… having to create a life out of a lie… I don’t imagine that being easy to cope with… And yes… I am accepting of it. Though I suppose that could be because I’ve taken the time to get to know you to an extent, to know that you are a genuinely good person- you not knowing about your past doesn’t change my impression of you in the slightest. It’s out of your control, so why would it? My opinions on a role of nobility are more that of how you handle yourself in court, in day to day life. Unless something incredibly scandalous is brought to my attention, I don’t give a flying monkeys ass about your personal life -unless of course I have a personal relation with said person, thats different. Melda shrugged, having her reasons. She was judgey to new nobles more often than not, but it was to teach them how to behave. Older ones, even if new to their role, she was more accepting of. She understood it was difficult to simply step into the positions, whereas the younger nobles had been training their entire lives to step into their parents roles when the time came. Made things different in her perspective.
She stared into the fire after mentioning her late husband Lucas, watching the flames dance together in a wondrous ballet, licking at the wood furiously as they jumped about. When Adrain spoke again, apologizing if he brought up bad memories, Melda brought herself back into reality, her eyes turning back to his, the sadness melting from them a moment later. Nonsense. No memory of him do I consider bad. We had a beautiful life together, even if it was cut short. Melda smiled earnestly, having long since come to terms with his death. Going back there would be difficult at first, but she would handle it like someone her age should; with dignity. As he went on to explain how they would get there with ease, Melda nodded. If it would be possibly for you to inform me of where it is your portal can bring us, I can have someone meet us there with some horses. My family still owns land there, and even though I’m the only living heir and I clearly don’t live there, the land is still staffed under my rule. Mind you, I told them to just live their lives, make sure the manner stays clean and the animals fed, only stock the pantry when needed and they get paid as though they were still full time. Melda did feel bad for never returning, but having them continue to be paid the same, despite having to do the minimal amount of work felt like it was some retributions… She did keep in contact with the head of staff, he kept her updated on the conditions of each member, and the animals, and she kept him updated about her life as well. After all, he had been like a second father to her growing up. It would be nice to see him again.
Melda came back to what Adrain was mentioning; some kind of invention? Honestly, I haven’t a clue. I’m terrible with these modern age ideas. They make me feel old. Melda scrunched up her face in disdain, remembering a far simpler time. She waited for him to come back to present, seeing that distant look in his eyes again, wondering where his mind went this time. She looked down to Serai now, smiling softly as he lay on her feet, finding him to be such a sweet animal. She’d have to ask Adrian one day, how he came across such a kind hearted beast.

"Alright then well, if you change your mind..." he says as he holds his palm up as a stream of frost begins to manifest and float around Melda in the middle of the room leaving a trail of vapor behind it seemingly dancing in front of the elf as it rose and sank in a seemingly mesmerizing way.
He listened to Melda sort of scoff at the concerns that he raised and he shrugged a little. "You're right, apologies for venting about that sort of thing quite a bit for the past few minutes, I fear I opened my overthinking about that to you a bit much, sorry for that." he says, seemingly willing to let it rest since at this point there was little more to address on that to Melda, though if she were to inquire in some way about something he would answer it.
Adrain nodded when Melda mentioned that it was a happy life and decided not to pry too much more into it since the hesitation was noticed by his amethyst eyes. When the mention of the portal was inquired, he thought for a moment before answering.
"The way it works, I have to be at a location to be able to make a completely safe location for a portal, to feel the mana and space of the area to link them to another place. A portal is theoretically possible without that first arrival feature, but vastly more dangerous. I can make portals to the other Noru Kingdoms and the lands immediately around, essentially the full map of the region since I've ventured through more conventional means to many locations in my works as an instructor in the past. Though the Elven City has a barrier I believe which makes detecting it very difficult." he says with a small shrug. He nods when she mentions how she allows full benefits to the staff regardless of the fact she wasn't personally there much of the time.
"I would probably do things the same way, probably will at some point once my lands have developed more and my attentions become divided. In any case, I've always wanted to see the Moon Terrace and the Avarian Falls" he says thinking of some of the various elements of the elven city that Melda may or may not remember. When Melda mentioned ideas, he chuckled a little.
"Oh come now, you look as young and radiant as anyone. Age is a mindset, not an attribute." he says with a soft smile, the fact that Melda might remember his own age being a touch ironic. "I'll make a model when I have time and let you see it to see what you think when its in action...I need to test the theory anyway." he states.
While he was spaced out, he hummed a soft tune of a tune odd to Melda. It was mellow, but he shook his head a little after a moment. "Well, it is getting a little bit late, unless you want to stay up and chat some more the room is the first on the right, it's cleaned up though I can't promise the cat won't follow you since he seems a little attached to showing affection right now." he states stretching a little and sliding off where he was.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda smiled and shook her head, watching the small ribbon of frost dancing around her. She couldn’t tell if this man was teasing her, or flirting with her, or simply just being him, but it was amusing regardless. As he apologized, Melda’s face became concerned. Oh no! I wasn’t meaning to put you down in anyway, I was more trying to ensue confidence. I’m sorry. I didn’t mind you talking about it at all. Melda waved her hands in front of her, not wanting him to shut down again; she enjoyed their conversations.
As he explained the portal, she nodded along, getting the gist of it. Well yes, the barrier does make it difficult. Well, I could have someone meet us just beyond the walls of Kanto to drive us the rest of the way. It would be about another two hours from there, which really isn’t all that bad. Melda shrugged, not minding it at all. She was glad he understood why she did what she did with her staff, going on to sights he wanted to see. Well that can certainly be arranged- I haven’t seen them myself in years, so it would be nice for me as well. She smiled, scoffing lightly at his next comment.
Oh come now, flattery will get you no where. Well that was an out right lie at this point, but she laughed none the less. As she went on to think about it, she was reminded that he was in fact far older than her anyhow- but he didn’t know that of course. She nodded in agreement as he said he’d come up with a model, sounding good to her.
As he hummed along, Melda smiled to herself, not knowing the tune, but finding it soothing regardless. He had a very pretty voice. As he snapped out of it, she blinked too, averting her gaze for a moment. Yes of course- rest is a necessity. Again, thank you for allowing me to use your room- I know how informal this all is, and I apologize again. She pet Serai on the head again, and warm smile on her face. And oh don’t worry about him. I don’t mind the company. Melda spoke softly, meaning the cat, but quickly realizing how it could sound otherwise, her purple blue eyes snapping towards him for a moment, her skin flushing slightly.

"Company you say huh.." he says, picking up on Melda's comment at the end and knowing she was referring to the cat but taking advantage of the chance to make the elf flustered. He laughed softly to himself as he walked to the door to his laboratory and looks at the pair of golems, holding his hands up as he alters the magic that keeps them at vigil. They stand to life and move to the front entrance of the quarters, taking up guard posts.
"They will make sure nobody can try to barge in, not that anyone would under normal circumstances but it should be a peace of mind. Plus they won't impede you if you need something later. In any case, good night Melda." he states as he retires to the laboratory, closing the door behind him.
Serai meanwhile when Melda moved to retire would follow her and curl up near her feet at the edge of the larger bed as a cat was often want to do, just not normally several hundred pounds like this one.
In the morning if and when Melda gets into the laboratory, she would see Adrain asleep on the couch, his shirt half up from the odd angle that he was sleeping at. The room would be larger than the others Melda had seen, a number of spellcrafting tools and tomes laid out in the center hovering by magic. A number of relics and artifacts were strewn about, one being the spear that Melda saw when she came to the office that day. Bookshelves would line the lengths of the room, filled with tomes of the arcane and related subjects. Most prominently perhaps would be a wall mounted piece of armor, a silver breastplate with a large hole in the chest over where the heart would be, blood dried on the edges. It would look familiar based on one of the visions earlier. If touched, the metal would resonate to the mana that Melda might have around her.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda simply cleared her throat, choosing to look in any other direction but him as he commented on her phrasing from before. It was best not to add on to it, just in case he decided to joke further. As he summoned the golems, Melda watched, never having used those herself, as they took their posts.
Thank you, I appreciate the precautions. Goodnight Adrain… She spoke softly, for some reason getting goosebumps when she heard him say her name. It was probably just because of how late it was. She watches as he takes his leave, taking a moment to catch her breath before standing and returning to his bedroom as he’d pointed out. She glanced around the room, her skin flushed as Serai followed behind her. She made her way onto the bed, crawling under the covers and snuggling herself into the mattress. It was so comfy and soft. She pressed her face into the pillow and took a deep breath in, feeling very comfortable, despite being stuck in a robe. Should Serai join her, she wouldn’t mind, finding the sound of felines purring quite soothing.
When morning hit, Melda found the cat sprawled across the bottom of the bed, snoring lightly. She yawned and stretched her hands up into the air, having slept wonderfully. She would have to get a bed like his- it was like it had been hugging her the entire time. Melda slid off the bed and slipped her shoes back on, not willing to walk in public with bare feet- not that she was entirely comfortable leaving his chambers in only a robe- but she had to get to his laboratory, so he could help her get home, or at least get clothing. Melda opened the doors quietly, glancing around the hall, mentally tracking where his laboratory was. After being sure there was no one around, she darted out of the room and down the hall, opening the door to the lab and closing it quickly.
After taking a moment to regain her breath again, she took a look around, quickly spotting Adrain on the couch. As she got closer, she saw that his shirt was lifted her eyebrow raising slightly. Normally she had more self control than that, but she couldn’t help but stare for a moment, her memory of the Dream State still too fresh. She blinked back to reality, looking away from him for a moment- and spotting the armour. Another memory hit- she’d seen that armour before, in the visions. Was that what Adrain had arrived in this world wearing? That would have been confusing when he woke up… Melda blinked again, turning back to the sleeping mage. she knelt beside the couch hesitantly, unsure of how to wake him. After more hesitation, wonder over took her and she swept away a strand of his hair from his face, cradling his cheek softly.

Serai meanwhile simply followed the elf. She smelled nice and seemed appreciative of his company last night, unlike the master who didn't always let him sleep at the foot of the bed for some reason. His stomach growled ever so slightly and he watched as Melda briefly explored the laboratory while the master was sleeping. At this point, the large cat pondered. He was hungry, but the last time he was overzealous he stripped the lady elf down, and if he awoke Adrain then he might be unhappy.
Then the scapegope...er solution came. The large cat could smell the pheromones working off her body. One day the master might actually choose a mate, makes it less complicated. Serai still favored Yuki, but this one wasn't so bad either. Noting that the elf lady got real close to Adrain he simply sauntered behind her and then abruptly leapt onto the empty part of the couch, but at an angle such that the large cat would bump Melda's butt firmly and possibly send her off balance onto Adrain in some shape or form. Totally accidental, of course.
