Melda had noticed that the large cat and followed her, but she really didn’t pay any mind to him, so when he wandered off on his own, she hadn’t thought twice. While she was staring down at his incredibly peaceful face, that large brat of an animal bumped into her, causing her to fall forward, her forehead hitting his, while her hand (opposite to the one on his face), shot out behind his head to balance herself. The other hand did the same, but she felt it get tangled in his hair, so she didn’t apply as much pressure. The only thing she hadn’t accounted for, was her chest- it had fallen against his for a moment, but she had balanced herself out quickly enough- however it had loosened a tad from the jolting.
Melda had made an “ouff” kind of noise when it all happened, and now there was a red blotch on her forehead.

Adrain naturally was awoken by the forceful impact of Melda's head upon his and the commotion, his eyes shouting open with a small exclamation of sorts, not responding at first to Melda falling upon him, but when his eyes sharpened they caught first and foremost a gaze of her loosened cleavage, his face turning as red as his forehead for a moment before his eyes shifted to the part of Melda's hand that was in his hair and then to her eyes.
"Normal elven wake up method?" he inquires coyly, the sound and smell of cat leading him to put two and two together as to how exactly this happened. When Melda would disentangle and likely back off embarrassed, he saw the mark on her forehead and stands up, approaching her where she would stop afterward.
"It wouldn't suit you to have a welt on your forehead when you have to go back to the court." he says softly as he holds his right hand over Melda's forehead, touching it ever so gently as a surge of mana seems to radiate from Adrain, Melda's forehead feeling as if the previous few moments were happening in the opposite order before the red mark would disappear moments later.
A faint smell of blood would manifest in the air as Adrain then walked off, sighing as if he half expected it to happen. "Really, that was barely a moment" he murmured, reaching into a drawer and drawing out a cloth bandage, beginning to wrap it around his wrist, a point on the top of his wrist red with the obvious.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda felt terrible for waking him up so rudely; though she supposed at the same time, it wasn’t exactly her fault. As he questioned her methods, she would quickly remove her hands from his hair and return to standing, which would put some distance between them, that is until he stood up, following her.
When he continues speaking, Melda would open her mouth to protest, but stop abruptly as Adrains hand would touch her forehead. She could feel what he was doing, but it had still stunned her. It was still taking some getting used to that the Arch was a place you could use magic freely; so it startled her sometimes still. But she loved the feeling.
As soon as he moved away, Melda blinked back to reality, catching an odd look on Adrains face and a swift scent. Adrain, what just happened? Are you alright? Melda approached him from behind, but didn’t touch him.

"Oh it's nothing too bad, really. I'm not really much of a healer, see healing requires a fine touch whereas my power tends to come out as a large wave. I can do things with the elements fairly precise, but I don't trust myself to do anything complex like medical magic and haven't really put in too much time trying to focus on that art. What I used just now is a bit of a workaround for that weakness, but using it tends to cause a backlash. I would have thought I could have taken care of a small thing like that though without an effect. I'll need to work on that." he says as he continues to wrap the gauze around his wrist, then making a sloppy fastening since one handed trying to tie something usually isn't that easy.
"In any case, I'm sure you're hungry, let me go and take care of that." he says casually, walking to the exit of the Laboratory with Serai charging ahead knowing he was going to be fed shortly. If and when Melda comes out, she would hear a thud as a serving of Serai's meat was put in his bowl while Adrain began rummaging around his food storage.
"Anything in particular you like, if I don't have it here I can get it easily enough. I suppose I need to get you a more proper outfit though, but I trust you wouldn't want the details of how you end up needing clothing to be public so I'll have to get you something and bring it to you, maybe a more filled staff uniform for now, though granted with your status you normally won't have to wear it." he states, trailing off and returning to rummaging.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda reached up and touched her forehead lightly, mildly confused. So essentially, what you’re telling me, is you really shouldn’t have done that. You’re bleeding over a tiny bump on my head. Melda chastised lightly, still giving him his space. When she saw him struggling to fasten the gauze however, she sighed and approached him, stopping in front of him, and taking the gauze into her own hands, fastening it properly. If you’re going to hurt yourself because of me, I may as well help you take care of it. She shook her head softly.
When he and his cat left the room talking of food, Melda smiled to herself softly, and moved to join them, peeking out into the hallway again first to be 100% sure no one would see her in the robe. She then darted down the hall, slipping into the room as she had done before, hearing the thud. While he rummaged around, Melda resumed her perch from the night before on the stool, looking down and for the first time noticing the indecency the robe had put her in, and flushed immediately, tugging it shut and tying it tighter again. She wanted to be mad at Adrain for not telling her- but she knew it was fully possible he just hadn’t known how to approach that kind of situation with her of all people. Instead she just blushed furiously, and took in a deep breath.
I’m not picky about the food, just make whatever you’d like. I don’t mind- the clothing however… yes I would appreciate that. She was incredibly iffy about wearing the uniform back to the castle, but if she moved quickly enough not many would see her. She still needed to explain to the King what her job here even was… So what happened to not going back to sleep for the rest of of the night? Melda taunted lightly.

"Probably, but I did it anyway, don't worry about it. Its also an excuse to practice that particular ability and try to improve on that ability, don't worry about it." he says, but before he knew it, Melda had came and fastened the gauze correctly, causing him to exhale a little.
"Well thank you, really you worry a little too much. Skin cracking open isn't that uncommon with the practice of magic." he says rolling his shoulders. While Melda was mounting back up on the stool, Adrain calls out while he was looking about the cabinets. "You know, we've been in my private quarters the entire time. The laboratory is directly connected behind the public hall door where the golems are now. The golems are just excessive security since laboratory typically is a high value place for a mage." he says casually, the fact that Melda was slinking around being noticed by the mage.
Adrain nodded and over the next course of time in between quips and comments would prepare for Melda and himself an elaborate quiche with cheese, peppers, onions, and herbs within the baked egg. Accompanying it would be a number of small pastries freshly made with a vanilla creme topping on top. To drink would be fresh wisdom fruit juice having a slightly tart taste which is alleviated by sugar.
"As far as not falling asleep, well I never said I would stay up the entire time, I did a bit of work and formula writing along with some analysis of a material that a student made." he says with a small shrug.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda rolled her eyes lightly. Whatever you say. Just be careful please. I would prefer you not die over something stupid like that. Melda finished with the gauze and poked him lightly on the forehead. I know its not. But I don’t like seeing blood, and with the way you were tying these, thats all I’d be able to see. So really, this was for my benefit not yours. Melda smirked jokingly and turned to head for the stool.
As she was kicking her legs about, very minimally of course, Adrain gave her a fun little fact that would have been fan-fucking-tastic to know when she’g woken up. You don’t say… She responded through slightly gritted teeth. She let out another sigh. Of course they were in his private chambers the whole time. Of course she was just paranoid! It wasn’t like she was roaming an area that wasn’t her chambers in a bathrobe. No biggie. Melda cracked her neck and looked up at the ceiling. It was so strange to her that she was letting anyone- especially a male of his status - see her like this. Yet she stayed, not rushing in the slightest. So strange.
Melda watched as Adrain cooked, rather amused with the whole situation. She’d never had another man cook for her like this before. Lucas was never big on cooking, and back then it was entirely uncommon to even find a man who knew where the kitchen in the manor was. When he finally responded to her poking from before, Melda laughed lightly. Really, you could have stayed in your own room. That couch there is actually quite comfortable, I wouldn’t have minded. She assured again, feeling rather bad that he’d slept on a couch and not his own bed. She was happy he’d gotten some work done, but even still, she felt guilty. The food smells amazing. She commented absently.

"A gentleman doesn't have a lady sleep on the couch while he is in the bed." Adrain says firmly as he was moving the food to the table and started laying out silverware and the like. "Even if somehow these circumstances happened again, I would insist the same." Adrain retorts since Melda was trying to be conscientious but it rebelled against his own sense of manners and degree of behavior.
"I'm glad you like the smell of it. I know most nobles have a staff to do things like this, I don't know if I will ever really be like that despite financial means to do so. I prefer to be able to practice things like this and remain well rounded just in case anything happens like I was stranded on an island with you where the money didn't matter because a ship was taken by a storm to a tropical landscape or some other improbably scenario." he says with a slight laugh, knowing that those specific circumstances were unlikely.
"Anyway if anything else you want comes to mind, let me know." Adrain says then beginning the meal by cutting the portion of quiche for himself and Melda and so on and so forth

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda laughed lightly having to agree with him. Yes I know. But that doesn’t mean I can’t protest it. She continued to laugh, finding it humorous how much he seemed to pride himself on being a gentlemen. She was glad he said he’d continue to insist on such things; it was a good trait. When he went on to say he knew most people had staff for what he was doing she shook her head.
Don’t even worry about it. I’m actually jealous. My mother never taught me about this stuff because we did always have staff for it. I kind of wish I did know how to cook myself. You’d think I would have found time to learn anyway over the years, but because the castle is so well mannered, I never really found the opportunity. She shrugged. But I recommend never losing that skill, just in case something that absurd did ever happen. She laughed with him, tucking a loose hair behind her ear. Her hair was still down from waking, and she hadn’t done anything to it yet, so it was still a bit messy.
When he offered her anything else she shook her head immediately. I can’t think of a better breakfast than what you have going right now. She smiled honestly, excited for the food.

As the breakfast went on, Adrain would finish and move his own dishes to the sink where a pair of water elemental hands reach up and begin scrubbing them in an exaggerated, comic way. Adrain chuckles, holding up a sphere of water mana putting it nearby. "Hungry are you, okay then...enjoy this bit." he states to the elemental. When he looks back to Melda, thinking before he comes up with a plan.
"Just try to relax for a bit, I'm going to teleport to Nova and find a tailor to make something or sell something for you. You are about..." he says, looking at Melda and writing down estimates of her relevant sizes and dimensions quickly before teleporting out, knowing that she would likely be flustered at that gesture.
Upon arriving in the market square, he looks around looking about for somewhere that seemed to make quality female clothing, his eyes drawn to one called 'Serenity's Closet'. He approaches the building, entering if open and looking around for the propietor.
"Hello? Is someone here?" he says aloud, looking at the garments that may be on display while waiting for a response.

Melda quite enjoyed her meal, finding it was made really well. She also laughed as the elemental was so dramatic. When Adrain fed it she chuckled again, liking how everyone seemed sarcastic with Adrain, even elementals. When Adrain told her to relax and went on to write down what she assumed was her measurements, she flushed into a dark red, crossing her arms. I could have just written them down for you, you know. She muttered, getting why he was doing it, but still. However, she wasn’t sure he’d heard her, as seconds later he was gone. After completely finished eating, Melda would go back to the couch from the night before, and lay down on it, staring up at the ceiling. Seraaiiiiii She called dramatically, flopping over onto her side.
Hearing a voice, Serenity dropped what she was doing in the back, and quickly emerged from an office like room. Hello! Welcome to Serenity’s closet. What can I help you with? She offered kindly, wondering why his face looked vaguely familiar. Around the shop was various racks of clothing, and a few counters of jewellery.

Serai lifts his head and tilts when called, pawing his way over to where Melda had laid down. He looks as she laid down on the couch and walks over to lick her exposed foot, letting the bristly feline tongue get a reaction out of the elven woman whom seemed to compel a reaction of some sort from others.
Back in the shop, Adrain looks when Serenity responds, bowing his head at the lady's presence for a moment. "Ah, yes good day. I had a friend whom's attire was destroyed by a freak accident by an oversized housecat, I need to replace it with something of quality to fit her tastes, probably elegant, shades of blue and silver. Her measurements are roughly estimated as such.." Adrain says, offering the small parchment to Serenity.
"Of course, I'll compensate you well for your product whatever it may be."

Hearing Serai approach Melda smiled; cats were good company. She watched curious as he walked right by her, deciding to lick her foot. Feeling that, Melda shot into a sitting position, crossing her feet under her. You’re kind of an ass. She mumbled to herself, patting the couch for him to join her while they waited. Hearing the mans explanation, Serenity made an “uh..okay” face before taking the parchment from him. Sounds like a very interesting experience. Serenity laughed, not sure how to approach that situation. Blue and silver…. blue and silver… She chanted to herself turning to the racks of gowns on the side wall. Glancing at the measurements, she pulled two gowns out a few moments later. One was a dark blue velvet fabric, the hem of the neckline and sleeves accented with silver. The sleeves were very long, billowing out down to the length of the dress. The other was a lighter blue satin fabric, the sleeves ending at the elbows, with silver celtic patterns embroidered along the neckline and down the waist. She presented them both to Adrian. Would either of these work? |

Adrain could read the awkwardness in Serenity's face and exhaled. Right, she didn't know him and his typically eccentric adventures and experiences. Normal person. As Serenity scurried off to look through her inventory, Adrain waited since he was dumb male brain, not know gud dress. At the two options presented before, Adrain looked at them both for a moment, but the first one seemed to strike her style a bit more from what he had seen.
"She'd probably like the first one..." Adrain says. "How much?"

Serenity placed the rejected gown back on its rack, bringing the chosen one to the counter to fold it up and package it in a regular brown box with tissue paper; Serenity didn’t have the funding for nice packaging yet. This one comes to 200. She spoke, writing down which dress it was and how much she costed for it, for her own inventory purposes.
