Roland's eyes narrowed as he watched Severine continued to speak, but despite his agitation and the tense atmosphere he could not help but revel slightly in the feeling of mana once again surging through his body. If I can draw this in then these shackles must not cut me off entirely... He thinks to himself as he surpresses the urge to smile. He almost felt like himself again. As he heard Aria's words and then her accusations against Severine he could even feel his mind working more quickly, the world seemed sharper.
Then it happened.
With a resounding smack Severine struck her daughter and Roland's amythest eyes turned a bright and stunning silver. Roland tried to lunge towards Aveline and began to gather his power to strike down Severine when Adrain stepped in. The headmaster subdued Severine the guards flanking Roland grabbed him and held him fast.
"Severine," He growls as the silver light continues to blaze behind his irises. As he heard the voices of several others and fully came to understand that Severine had been restrained he grew still. "I swear by my mother Caster, as her Champion, you shall never hurt her again."
Roland finally turns to Aveline and asks "will you be okay?"

Aria knew Lady Yuki was a duchess, but the level of disrespect was uncalled for. ”So according to that statement, one with a bias statement should not talk?” Aria raised an eyebrow; her arms folding in front of her. ”Are you not the one who’s family reputation will be marred by this union? Are you not the one who takes offense to this couple? I believe the Baroness D’Avranches, who’s only experience with Mr. Walker was when he was doing his job has less of a biased statement then your own.”
Aria’s glance sharpened to a cold glare as Severine turned her poison tipped tongue to Lilith. ”LaDDDyyy Zoe; Lilith currently has the kings favor. As someone who is being courted she is intended to be his partner, not some puppet that has to sit in a corner. She is HIS choice; if he picked just for appearances then I doubt it would have taken him this long to find an arm ornament.” Aria turned to Noku for a moment, ”Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong” Aria turned her sharp glance back towards the snake of a woman. ”I believe he chose Lilith for her personality, and her opinions. Which in this case she has a personal connection to Mr. Walker as a teacher. Considering its pertinent to this case which is all about him, I believe her opinion has a right to be heard as much as anyone else’s in this room.”
Aria really wasn’t surprised when Severine turned towards her; honestly she preferred it over Severine verbally attacking Lilith for her opinion. Really if she could keep Severine’s attention on herself it would be better than Severine verbally attacking every person who spoke. ”My conviction? You mean the fact I was arrested because having a dagger place against my throat by the same woman was considered ‘contact’ enough to sentence me to death. I’m curious to know whether or not my full statement, which was given to Mr. Walker the day he questioned me, actually ever made it up to Noku. After all it seemed to me a lot of information was oddly incorrect during that whole affair.” Aria looked back up to Noku. ”After the few months of knowing me, the charges that I was a part of the group that plotted to end your life, do you believe it?” Cause seriously that wouldn’t turn out well for her what so ever. ”As for me being a liar….did I not when you made that announcement in the square rallying the people to start a massive head hunt for any fated known whether they were connected to the woman or not. One where you were clear that each and every person that was caught would meet the same fate as that woman. All that was needed was just a brief contact, or seen in the same space as the woman to be convicted of a crime. Did I not willingly come forward and state the extent of my contact with that woman, did I not even then declare whose side I was on? A good chunk of the third district heard it. Why on earth would I lie about something like that when I could have run?” Seriously there was no logic in that statement. The whole time Aria spoke she kept a calm and even face, and her tone neutral.
She had to hold back an eye roll at Severine’s opinion on the pairings of Blossom Festival. ”As for my logic behind the pairings, one must understand passion is the feeling and love is the choice. The gods have given us a gift of free will; thus we are able to make choices regarding the opportunities blessed to us by the gods. Those choices can be for or against their hopes for us. I do admit I’m curious to how the woman managed to plan and plot with other people on the said execution when the pairings were chosen by higher powers then ourselves. But fact stands, whatever happened after was strictly the choice of the individual.” ”Moving on to your next statement, no, honestly I think I was just a bonus add on for you. As it was Miss Lilith here that you invited to the tea specifically; you just agreed with her when she asked if I would like to join you two. But you did not hesitate to serve us both some of the brew. I hadn’t known that you were sending some to Roland, until I was on my way to the infirmary to try to see if someone could help me identify the herbs via me describing the taste. I happened to by highly fortunate enough to run into Yul brining the same batch of tea to Roland. It made the identification of said tea much easier.” Aria ignored the name calling; continuing to use respectful terms. She would not lower herself to name calling in such a situation. Or acknowledge it for that matter.
Aria kept her defiant gaze locked on Severine’s own wild stare; daring her to go further. She had not counted on Aveline speaking up against her mother. Aria’s eyebrows rose towards her hairline in surprise. The woman allowed her mother to use her as a guinee pig for poison. Standing up to her mother now; well it spoke volumes for the passion she held for the man in the center of the ring. Aria watched as Severine snapped and lunged at her daughter; the court erupting in chaos. Aria rubbed the bridge of her nose. Adrain quickly restrained the woman, followed by Yuki’s surprisingly …violent …could you call that violent? Well it was an adorable display of anger for the situation. Adrain followed with an eloquent take on the matter, bringing back a little class to the room full of ‘nobles’…some of whom weren’t acting as the title would suggest. ”I’m sorry if I could ask just one more thing; if everyone is worried about whether she’s enchanted or not….why don’t we just stick her in the antimagic cell; if it was a lingering spell which didn’t need to be maintained by the caster then wouldn’t that nullify it if there was one? Seems like a simple solution instead of just opinions. Though personally considering his position, I trust fully in Adrain’s ability to detect such magic.” Seriously she use to like to test to see how well her spells could be hidden using that stupid ability of his. It’s what helped her develop her ability to hide her spells when cast. Continuing on Aria had to try her best to ignore the fact that Severine looked like an angry armadillo. Else wise she might burst into giggles….which would look horribly bad at this point.
As Adrain finished with his speech Aria turned a concerned gaze to Aveline…perhaps it would not be a bad choice to have her removed to rest. As the guards came in to help take control of the situation Aria turned to Noku. She could always find out the results later. ”Your majesty, may I please have permission to tend to Aveline and bring her to the infirmary. She will need to be checked to make sure that this …incident has not sent her into an early labor. Perhaps the situation won’t be as out of control if the ….fated…person was not present as well.” What was about to happen to her mother for such a display was probably not going to be pleasant.

The guards which were positioned by the doors, and outside of it immediately reacted to the commotion. Stepping forward and into the middle of the ring efficiently dealing with the situation. One guard took hold of Roland, taking him by the chains and bringing him back to the podium. While another one fallowed with his hand on his sword, just in case if more force needed to be used. A look was given to him that said it would be in his best interest that he stayed where he was.
Another set of guards went to handle Severine. Both pausing and looking at one another trying to figure out how to detain the woman who was effectively hog tied. They looked up at Adrain, and then back to each other wondering how to handle the situation. One finally spoke to Severine “Madam Zoe, if you cannot control yourself then we will be forced to detain you.” Both were ready to use force if needed to, one nodding towards Adrain to give him the signal that they had it under control.
One guard approached Yuki as well, leading her back to the ring of seats. ”Lady D’Avranches, please have a seat”

Chickens….
Yes that had to be the sound. It was like chickens within a coop, pecking and clucking amongst themselves on the facts of the trial. Meanwhile Breton stood by the King’s side, unphased, contempt and barely showing any form of emotion; meanwhile the claims were being brought up on Roland. He knew he had brought up the fabrication lie Severine had claimed against the man long ago, Keeping the truth to himself and the King for the time being. He wanted to see what the people thought and would bring to light on the situation. Plus, he wanted to show Noku Severine’s decline in mental health from over the years.
Breton’s green eyes snapped back to look over his shoulder at Noku; who glanced back up at Breton in response to his regents movements. The king catching his regent look, confirming his suspicions. The trial carrying on calmly at this point, though deep down, Breton was giggling and trembling with excitement at the time bomb that could go off any moment with Severine. His fists clenched not in anger, but in pure ecstasy of the way the Trial was turning out. Any minute now…. He watched in silence, Not saying a word the entire time as people continued to speak up and inform the king and himself of what they thought.
Then it happened, BOOM! The old bat had finally snapped.
Breton’s emerald eyes darted over to the woman as she began to throw her tantrum. The shoe that few was a brilliant touch, he hadn’t expected the young noble girl Yuki to make such a display of disrespect in a court. Perhaps the young girl was finally blossoming into a woman, something that he could thank the help of the strong opinionated women around castle.
The display was brilliant none the less; though he showed no emotion as Severine struck her daughter. A pressed line formed on his lips as Roland moved from his stand to go aid his beloved. Not the brightest move, but it did show his loyalty to the woman.
Breton could feel his chest tighten and his breathing become shallow. He stared directly at Severine, his eyes blinking slowly, but before he could say anything. He listened to adrian and the others as they continued to speak; The guards reacting to the outburst to restore the court back in order. However, before breton could speak, he was interrupted.
“ Enough….”
Noku spoke softly. “ I’ve heard enough from you Severine! “ Noku’s voice boomed suddenly, Breton jumping slightly, not expecting his majesty to yell out the way he did. Though that shout was what Breton had been waiting for. Breton’s eyes widening like saucers as he stared at Noku, who seemed calm, but deep down Breton knew there was a storm brewing underneath those golden eyes. In fact, Noku could barely contain it as he glared down at Severine. Noku having his fill of the claims and now this new information brought to his attention caused him to clench his fingers tightly on his armrest.. To attempt to poison Lilith, no to attempt to poison anyone in his court was beyond something he could forgive. The act of her striking Aveline just added on top of that brewing rage Noku was battling to keep hidden. The King was doing hi best to keep his composure as he slowly stood from his seat. “ You dare insult ME in my home and court? You have lost your mind woman…. To insult this woman here.” Noku spoke in a serious and angered tone. He was clearly referring to Lilith as he followed this by looking down at her. His expression showing concern for a moment before looking back to Severine.
“Is the equivalent of insulting Me and my kingdom, something I take highly offensive. No matter who you are, God, Goddess, Family or a common man or woman. I will NOT stand here and watch you show such disrespect! To anyone including Lady Wurud who you also decided to insult. I find what you say hard to believe! For your claims on your ‘love’ for your daughter, along with my own love. Your disrespect and actions, vulture, is unacceptable.…..” Noku almost hissed the word unacceptable, his voice clear within the courtroom for all to hear…
Meanwhile Breton, casually walked down from where he stood by the King’s side. His movements graceful as he walked up to Adrain, and placed a hand on his shoulder and gave a single pat. “ Next time be more cautious while performing magic while in the presence of the king, though your assistance was appreciated and praised.” Breton spoke softly to Adrain, resuming his casual walk before pausing in front of Roland. “ Also as someone who was once apart of this court, I ask you reframe from moving even if every bone in your body tells you to… It would be in your best interests along with your wife…. Do you honestly think we would allow her to be hurt within the presence of the king? “ Breton spoke to Roland in an amused tone, continuing his walk yet again over to Severine who was being currently detained.
A emotionless expression on his rigid features as he approached Severine, Breton then even dared to lift his hand up to stroke the arch duchess’s cheek. His hand cold to the touch, a familiar touch Severine would be used to by now. A small smirk growing on his lips as he looked at Severine, ignoring everyone one else within the trial.
Breton reached out to grab a handful of Severine’s hair, His fingers tangling to make a loop around his fingers as he yanked and pulled her close to him. The soldiers doing their best to restrain her, while Breton leaned in close to whisper into her ear.
“ You know… You could've done some great things for this kingdom Severine… If only you were more interested in what I could of offered you than who or what was between your daughters legs...Things could of worked out differently for you….” Breton spoke softly to her, his smile still carrying as he pulled back away from her.
“ Please continue everyone, after all… This trial isn’t All about Sir. Walker anymore, I think lady Zoe has put herself on the chopping block at this point. From what has been said so far, I think the tables have turned on both the advisors…. Even Lady Mysteria, who is absent this beautiful morning has a lot to explain... Which comes to the biggest question of all… What to do with you Severine? From what has been said and from the samples I collected, the claims you have made are off. After all, I believe Aveline was about to say something important before the… interruption. “ Breton smirked, the doors of the main throne room opening to reveal the strange round stage set outside.

Aveline collapsed to her knees when the hands were wrenched away from her throat, her skin and lungs burning. She clutched the partition with shaking fingers, her hand tracing over her throat. She couldn’t hear much beyond incoherent shouting, not much beyond her own coughs and gasps for breath. She could feel blood trickle from her neck and cheek from the scrapes, her skin raw. The only thing keeping her tethered was the fluttering movement of the child growing inside her, still alive, still safe.
Roland’s voice was the first to reach her, as it always was. He was still in danger. She would have to be strong for a little while longer. Aveline nods, fingers curling tighter around the partition as she rises, wiping her mouth and then the tears away from her eyes. “Hold on for a little bit longer, Roland.” her voice was raw as she spoke, cracked and strained.
On the floor, wrenched away, Severine thrashed to break free of her magic bonds. When those dissipated she thrashed against the guards holding her down, incapable of speech in her rage. She couldn’t take in a breath and her eyes were bloodshot, the dark veins creeping further up her face. She only went still at the sound of Noku’s voice, shot-through red eyes looking up at him.
“You- you leech.” Severine’s voice snarled, turning her head to Noku. “You ungrateful child, do you know how much I’ve sacrificed for you? How much we have sacrificed for you? You’ve taken the sides of these girls and bastards over your own advisors! Over the people you trust to run your kingdom! You- you’re nothing but a spoiled child! Because you will not do what is necessary Nova will fall!”
The touch of Breton’s hand steals her voice, shock settling a stillness into her body. Severine looks up at him with wide eyes, not willing to believe. What had this man done to her? What was he? Her gaze shot over to Aveline, whose gaze had not wavered from Roland.
“I-” Aveline swallows painfully, straightening up. When she speaks again her voice is still ragged, but clearer. Confident. “I accuse the Lady Zoe of abuse, assault, and attempted murder.” her eyes remained on Roland, not daring herself to look aside to her mother lest she waver. “I ask the gods to have mercy on her, because I will not any longer. I formally reject her in front of those gathered as my mother. She is no longer of my blood. I plead that my husband, Roland Walker, be released and pardoned under these circumstances, with the revelations brought to light by these witnesses.”
Aveline’s eyes ticked over to Breton. “Do what you must with her.”

Jose had been keeping his composure and eyes cast down for most of the trial. He listened and heard each plea and statement with acute attentiveness and valued every piece of information gleamed. He had been stationed to guard the entrance to the throne room since the trial begun and had kept a silent watch over its proceedings for its current entirety. He sent a nod Lady Aria's way but otherwise saw little familiars among the crowd and he was in no position to make idle chatter anyhow.
He was outfitted in the standard armour of guards of the royal court and his long hair was held back by a leather string. His bow was forgone for being in close quarters and so both his short blades were slung at his hips and sheathed. In spite of the growing tension hands went to lightly grip the hilts and though he felt somewhat connected to the man on trial he was not one held fit to speak, or so he believed at the present time and though formed opinions on the matters at hand he kept them inside to better perform his current duty. There would be a time he would speak up for his former captain but it was not now.
The parting of his lips would not be necessary however, as the tables graciously flipped upon Mr. Walker as he was no longer the target of the investigation. When the Lady Severine had well, lost her shit and decided to foolishly attack a lady-daughter or no daughter- in the court Jose was quick to leap into action to move to restrain her and was put off by the fact she already was. When the confusion was cleared and all things settled he remained with a firm grip upon the woman's arm, a bit of his super strength flexing though the muscle.
Jose otherwise kept silent and held his position, as the king spoke with such anger and passion and as Brenton had his way of things. His eyes flickered to the odd stage but otherwise he kept his attention on the current offender. As she wriggled and and threw herself against the ground attempting to break free Jose increased his grip slightly but to Severine it would be enough force to keep her still and most likely bruise. He continued to restrain her with much ease and even though didn't need the other guard to help, hauled the woman u to her feet but again kept her easily immobilised. He brought her before the stand beside Roland, keeping up on his role as a dutiful guard. He knew that a time would come for parted lips and that with it he may prove useful in this trial.

After Diamond had said his piece it seemed that things had cascaded. It seemed that some of what he had stuck but it seemed that there were some holes in some of his accusations with Rolland. But it seemed that Aria had filled in some holes and gave a better out look on everything. As well as Rolland speaking up and telling his side of the story. The white haired champion stayed silent as he himself needed a moment to reflect. It seemed that there were a few minor things and he himself did feel a bit guilty that there was a slight valid reason on why he left. But then with Severine opening her mouth next with more venom. His eyes flicked over and he just wanted to silence her. Then the woman taking a soul shattering blow to her own daughter and unborn grandchild. Diamond's rage could be felt, he never knew his own parents. But to see a parent do this to there own child was something he could never condone. It took a massive amount of control to not draw his sword and threaten the old hag. But it seemed that the young lady Yuki had decided to speak. She had the most compassion out of all of the nobles. It did bring down his fury by just a bit. Aria then spoke up again adding more of her thoughts to a growing flame against Severine. Then something dropped like a pin into a silent room. Diamond's rage flared again at the mentioning of a brew that could make a woman become barren. And it was almost served up to someone he knew.
His right hand went to his Muramasa blade but again showing more will and restraint from drawing that demon blade. Was rather massive as he wanted to slay the vile woman. Then the viper spoke and his eyes just went to pinprics in shear amazement as the woman had lost it. That and Averline standing up to her mother for once and taking action. But what set Diamond off was the fact that Severine attacked and tried to take the life of her daughter and unborn grandchild. Before he could move, Adrian had casted ice shacles on to Severine preventing any more assaults on to Averline. He could barely hear some of the other things going on as it seemed rightious fury was filling him. It seemed that Noku was also now just as furious on the matter but in a diffrent way. It then seemed that everything was now falling against Severine. Diamond slowly stood up his rage was very evident in his eyes and his posture. His eyes soul piercing and was unleashing all of the malice, hate, and rage. His firce mien was that of a being that wanted to kill in the worst possible. His face akin to a wild animal, wolf as his nickname.
"Severine.....a soul less monster like you should never exsist. I personally never seen or met my parents, some of the members of the court remember them. But when I saw your actions as a mother.....it truely sickened me. You have no value to any life either several hundred of your countrymen nearly being destroyed by a mana explosion that would have nearly destoryed the entire 3rd district. You took pleasure from that, and what is worse you trying to kill your own flesh and blood that you birthed yourself! To add more on this, you think you are above the king and the divine. And if I may quote you on this, even as a champion you can be replaced. Your arrogance and lust for power have truely devoured your own tail snake" said Diamond as his voice was cold and dripping with malice. It seemed that the white haired champion was about to reach his cresendo as his fury was about to be unleashed. But he wanted to add more pain on to Severine.
"I do wish to appologize for some of my words to you Sir Walker. It seems that you were caught in some machinations of this deranged woman. In all honesty to the court and pardon my disreguard to formality. But let me say this, Severine should be striped of all of her power and transfered to her daughter. Then be executed for treason against Nova and its King. She should not be given the dignity of dieing a noble as she has shown none to the King, to her fellow lords and ladies. For Rolland's punishment as a revisement. He should be cleared of the majority of his charges, but on the matter of abandoning his post. He should be demoted to the lowest rank of soldier. Due to the actions of Severine, she was behind these actions. This again are my feelings on the matter" he said and then it seemed that for the last blow was about to begin from him.
"As the Champion to Mylee though. I shall enact my own divine edict and judgement apon you, on top of the judgement of this court. For your mockery against several champions of the gods in this room, your disregaurd for any life, as well as calling your daughter's unborn child a abombination. As well as trying to snuff out a unborn live and more. I CONNDEM YOUR ROTTEN AND FETED SOUL TO MORG. YOU WILL NEVER ENTER YURSOUL, NOR WILL YOU EVER REINCARNATE INTO A NEW LIFE" Diamond said his voice booming and almost having a dualality to it. As if Mylee had spoken through his own champion. As his eyes glowed and some of his hair standing on end. And after he said his piece, Diamond shook his head for a second. And then he looked over the room and then to Rolland "You better pray to the gods Severine......for I have no mercy for a monster like you. Maybe they might or they might share my own feelings. And perhaps give a more harsh punishment" he said and then looked at Severine hoping that he put the fear of the gods into her.

Lucinda was absolutely stunned at the turn of events in the court this morning. She sat listening and watching as Severine dug her own grave. Speaking of the King's favored lady in such a manner? As Severine turned her venom on Aria, the princess's eyes hardened but she held her tongue still.
Her hands flew to her mouth, her blue eyes wide when the crazed woman lunged for her own child. A small breath of relief came when Adrain stepped in to restrain her, though her eyes darted nervously to Noku for a moment. Chaos erupted briefly and Lucinda couldn't help but smile a little as Yuki hit the archduchess with her shoe, though she hid it behind her hand.
When it came to light that Severine had tried to poison Lilith, Aria, and Roland, fury lit the eyes of the young princess. It was one thing to insult a duchess of a neighboring country but to attempt to poison her? That was crossing the line and did not look favorable on Noku's court. However, before she could speak, Breton and Noku spoke up. Fear replaced the anger in Lucinda for a moment as Noku railed against Severine. Shock followed shortly with Breton's actions. She suspected he had wanted this all along but was equally as certain that she didn't want to know why or what he had planned to follow.
Aveline spoke up shortly after, her formal charges and denouncement of her mother very impressive for the young girl. Lucinda looked at the young mother in sympathy, thinking perhaps that she would like to get to know her better after this. Diamond stepped forward again and Lucinda was shocked once more at his words and his edict. She could feel the power behind his words and part of her was grateful for his punishment. After Diamond was done, Lucinda stood, looking around at the court briefly before settling on Severine. Her gaze was cold and steely, her voice hard and dignified when she spoke.
“Your Majesty, I wish to add my own charges against Lady Zoe,” she said, a bite of sarcasm to the title of ‘lady’. “As the Princess of Palico and in my duty as Ambassador, I charge her with attempting to poison a member of my court and create war between the countries, treason in the highest context,” she said, then turned her eyes back to Severine. “Lady Wurud is MY duchess, Severine, and by attempting to poison her, you bring shame upon yourself and you disrespect my kingdom. For this act of aggression, I demand your death,” Lucinda said, looking to Noku

Not too long after Lilith had taken her seat again, Aria spoke up- and the words that left her mouth had Lilith’s heart pounding in her chest. She was bringing up the poison? Lilith blushed incredibly, glancing up at Noku for a moment, her eyes sad. She had wanted to tell him, but she had been scared of Severine, and honestly, she hadn’t known how to approach the subject. What if he hadn’t believed her? Lilith looked away again, eyes burning. Well he knew now, and she supposed it came out at a good moment- Lilith didn’t believe Severine was a good person. She listened as Aria went on, stunned at the knowledge that Severine had used her daughter as a taste tester for poison. That was just awful!
She turned her eyes to the older woman now, eyebrows furrowed as she tried to figure out how Severine became so bitter and sour- but quickly that look turned to one of shock and fear as Severine’s own eyes met with Lilith’s. As she became speaking, Lilith felt her eyes start to burn again, her chest pounding even harder as her breath quickened. This woman was attacking her, in front of everyone! Lilith cowered into her seat, her shoulders rising up as her head sunk down, face red. All she did was spit out what Lilith had already been worried about once- thanks to Aveline. That she was nothing more than a pretty face to Noku, and that her opinions didn’t matter. She had convinced herself that they were wrong, Noku was different than that- she still believed that. However Severine was playing on her fears, and it was getting to her fast.
Then her attention turned to Aria, and Lilith felt rage grow in her chest. Those were lies she was spitting! Aria was not treacherous! Lilith shook her head with anger, looking at Aria for a moment, trying to gauge what her reaction might be. Aria started to speak again, bringing up with Lilith had recently been thinking; of all the bias in the room, shouldn’t the mother-in-law be the most bias of all? The topic quickly changed as Aria came to her defence, something she was incredibly grateful for. She spoke such kind words, it made one or two of the tears she’d been suppressing fall down her porcelain face. She smiled at the red head, thanking her with all she could, silently. No surprise, she quickly defended herself as well, though she seemed far less phased by it.
Noku’s voice broke through the madness, silencing it immediately. She’d seen something like this before- at a public trial she’d attended. Things had gotten out of hand, but he’d ended it all with just one word. Lilith turned her head to look at him now, her eyes wide and slightly less fearful than before from Severine’s harsh words. Aria had instilled some confidence back in her, thankfully. He was full of rage, she could easily see that, but she watched carefully, never having seen anything from this position of the court. When he turned to look at her in that brief moment, his anger left his face, replaced by concern for her, and she felt her chest swell up for a moment, a small smile reaching her face again. He was defending her… She didn’t need to be afraid of Severine anymore. Lilith blinked, letting the rest of the fear slip away, replaced by confidence and hope that she would be stripped of her title.
As Noku went on, Lilith began to blush again, not used to him praising her so highly in front of such a large crowd. He’d compared her to his kingdom… That was crazy! She glanced at Aria, freaking out slightly, on a girl level. When He defined Aria as well, she rose her eyebrows in Aria’s direction, in a “I told you he cared about you” manner. Her heart skipped a beat a moment later, hearing the rest of Noku’s speech. His love? That was new. She glanced at him again, her purple eyes very wide. Had she heard that right?
When the moment arose that Lilith could speak for herself she remained seated. Lady Zoe, you know nothing about me. But you’ve assumed the worst from the start- even before all this, when I had first started working here. To you, if someone isn’t of royal or noble blood, they are scum. In that thought, you must think the rest of this kingdom is scum too, don’t you? All you ever wanted was a foothold at the top, to have your voice heard at all times, and no one elses. You couldn’t even let your daughter make her own decisions. You believed everyone in this court were puppets in your personal game- but you were wrong. Lilith looked into the old womans eyes sadly. And look where it got you. Lilith stopped speaking, wondering if she had overstepped and looked to Aria nervously for support.
The Aveline began speaking- something Lilith wasn’t sure she’d be able to do. Lilith watched as the young woman stood up to her mother, and she felt a surge of proudness building inside her. But the moment soon altered when Severine lunged for her daughter. Lilith lunged in her seat, moving to stand, however Yuki dealt with it first, slapping the crazy woman with a shoe. Lilith sat back down, her chest rising and falling quickly. The Headmaster took over for Yuki, restraining Severine. Lilith blinked, trying to take in all that had just occurred. Had she lost her mind? And then to disrespect the King like that? This woman must be insane. Lilith looked at Noku, waiting for his response on the manner, before speaking up herself, after Aveline made her claims.
I can attest to Lady Avelines claims of abuse; I helped heal her after her mothers latest attack on her. Severine, I pity you, and what you’ve become. She shook her head, feeling sorry for the old bat- she must really be mentally gone to have fallen so far. When Diamond spoke up, Lilith nodded approvingly, agreeing with the final touch. Lucinda’s speech only added to the womans trial, as everyone was more focused on her than the Capitan in question for the time being. The word death struck chills down Liliths spine, but she had said all she needed too for the time being, she remained silent.

Yuki cheeks redden a tiny bit upon being escorted back to her seat. Once seated she quickly put her shoes back on and sat down. She did inch down a bit when Noku yelled the man still scared the shit out of her and hearing him yell didn't help either. Doing the best to make herself small even though the attention wasn't directed to her she listen to Noku speak of Severine's words towards Lilith being an insult to him and the kingdom. Directing her eyes towards Lilith for a moment wondering what reaction was during this time she missed when Breton had walked into Severine. Hearing that the trial just about Roland alone anymore but Lady Zoe is now on the chopping block. Turning her eyes towards that realised some noise was travelling from outside looking in the direction she saw a strange object from her view could make out that it was circular in shape but still she couldn't make out much more than that because of her distance other than some colourful ropes. Not sure what to make of the strange object she decided to turn her attention back to the trial.
Listening to everyone from Diamon the Champion of Mylee and Princess Lucinda demanding the woman's death. Looking upon Severine all she saw was a sad woman who was more broken than her. Once everyone has spoken she took a sip of her tea and stood up once again. She didn't know why but she felt like she had to say something. "Your Majesty." Looking at Aria and the other familiar faces within the court wondering how many of the others had suffered because of Lady Zoe's influence like she had with her own mother. "I wish to bring light events that have happened in the court under either direct or indirect influence of Lady Zoe."
Closing her eyes for a moment wondering if she was ready for this, for every one of the court to know the truth about what happens behind closed doors. Looking at everyone once again she felt her heart beating as if all those stares upon her were piercing into her very soul and stabbing her from the inside out. Balling her fist up until her nails dug into the palm of her hand enough to calm her a little bit. "Lady Zoe has been a role model to many here within the courts and even down to servants. Many try they best to raise they child to be very similar to Lady Zoe. It is because of this many including myself had a dislike to Lady Wurud without even getting to know her. After getting to this wonderful woman I realise that she is not the monster that she been made out to be. She also has a wonderful taste in tea even if am to say so myself."
Taking a deep breath wondering how much of her own family she was willing to go into she still was only beginning to accept some of it herself. "As I mention before Lady Zoe was a role model for many of us here and even our own parents. I myself happen to be one of the children that had an indirect influence of Lady Zoe with my own up bring being to be shaped into being like the woman from undergoing strict and many times toxic parenting to become like her." Pausing for a moment wondering if she should continue deciding against it unless asking for details.
Taking a seat she felt her heart racing a million beats per second as she waited for anyone to say something. Her hand rested on her tea cup shaking as she tried to calm her and her breathing. It wouldn't look good if she fainted right now doing her best to once again try and make herself small to avoid any more attention being drawn towards herself as she prayed that someone else would speak up already and take the attention off her if it was even for a moment.

Melda Delsaran Vanya Melda was stunned by the turning of events in this trial. Of course she had attended more of theses than one could count, but they rarely ended up like this. It could have been because the man on trial was so close to everyone around, or perhaps one of his main prosecutors was biased beyond belief- regardless, Melda was stunned. She stayed silent nearly the entire time, keeping her face smooth and void of reaction. Even when that fool of a woman verbally attacked the girl to the Kings left. Poor thing. Melda could see by the way she cowered into that throne that she was too fragile for this life. However, when Aria jumped to protect the elven beauty, Melda looked to her, a curious look on her face. And then the king too, defended her. How very strange. She had assumed what Severine had for the most part, but she was happy to be corrected- and very happy for Noku in that case. She had seen them together at the dinner, and although much was released there, she still had her doubts. Much to her further surprised, the young one spoke up for herself as well, to which Melda nodded along. Melda’s reaction did come through of course, when Severine lunged for her daughter- who could mask the shock and disgust for that? Thankfully Yuki and Adrain stepped forward, nipping that in the bud. Melda had to admit- Yuki was growing up. It wasn’t something Melda would have done, but then again, they were very different people. It was commendable none the less.
It was easy enough to see by Rolands reaction to his wives pain that he loved her- at least in Meldas perspective. But this foolish woman… she took it a step further, lashing out at their King. Melda was disgusted with her- to turn so quickly on ones loyalties, even when facing death… it was horrid. It would seem many agreed with her; Diamond, Lucinda and Yuki speaking against her at the first chance they got. And young Aveline… Melda, like everyone else in the room, felt terrible for her, having to deal with this woman her entire life… it almost came as no surprise to find out she was being beaten- Melda wouldn’t put it past Severine to do. Melda stood directly after Yuki, ready to make her point.
After a curtsey to the King and his favour, Melda began, keeping her formalities despite the outburst turn of events. Severine Zoe. There was once a time when you weren’t around. I remember a time, when you had no control here- no power. Did I mention what a beautiful time that was? I have been around far longer than you, Advisor Zoe. Your time has come and gone, and let me tell you, it won’t be a moment too soon. Lady D’Avranches just mentioned the influence you have on he young woman on this court- but you’ve known you had that. You intended for that. So you could twist the young minds to believe as you do, to create backups in case your own daughter failed you. She looked to Aveline now, gesturing that she meant no offence to her. You are a scheming, conniving witch. For someone who hates magic and claims it to be evil, you are far worse than anyone I’ve ever come across with the gift of magic. Now that her initial insults were through, Melda cleared her throat, looking to Noku for the moment.
Severine has spies placed everywhere; in the castle, in the city and in the arch- Gods know wherever else. She spies on everyone and everything- and now although this could be argued against, as she currently holds an advisor position and needs the intel- I can all but assure you, those spies are not for what they should be. She gathers information on everyone in the court, everyone who comes in and out of the castle, and she uses it to get them to do their bidding. Blackmail is a powerful thing I’m afraid… So much so that it worked on the spies as well, which is why you’ve never come near me- isn’t it Lady Zoe? Melda turned her icy gaze back to the accused bat, staring hard. Severine had always been watching, everywhere, but Melda did too- just quieter. Your Majesty, I accuse Lady Severine Zoe for negligence of her position as Arch Duchess, and move that she be stripped of her title, as well as her Advisory position. She’s done nothing but abuse that power to her own personal benefit, as can be attested to by her daughter, Lady Aveline Walker. Melda nodded, making her point, and sitting back down. Not everything needed to be flashy.
She turned her head as the doors opened, her eyes widened and she snapped them to Breton, fear on the surface.

Post by Noku Noru on Nov 19, 2016 19:44:11 GMT
The sun now climbing over the tree line in the distance. The rays from the morning sun, cast into the courtroom a red blood like hue. The crimson light pouring into the scene as Severine began to spat out words again against the king. The light centering on those within the room and of course on those who gathered at the gate outside.
Noku stared directly at Severine as she called him a leech and destroyer of this kingdom; His eyes flashing with amusement at the name calling and anger coming off the old woman he once had a fondness to… Now he could only stare back at her with cold, murderous intent. It had been a long time….. Fifteen years in fact, since the last time anyone dared call him something other than ‘Your Majesty’ to his face. The King’s temper holding for the time being, while his attention turned to Aveline who gained the composure to speak again after being attacked.
Meanwhile, Breton remained to himself off to the side. His emerald eyes watching Noku intently as Severine and the rest of the court began to speak. Oooooh how he loved a good bloodbath and Severine was walking right into one. The Regent thought, forcing himself not to smile. His curiosity getting the better of him as he heard Severine spat about something of secrets. What kind of secrets could this woman possibly possess? Then again, Breton remembered her ties with Kanto and Palico. If one thing he learned in his lifetime; it was never underestimate a person when they are desperate.…. Her spilling such secrets at this point would most likely ruin his fun. So it was time for him to finally do something and step in; What a pity he was having such fun.
Breton sighed, before whispering very faintly under his breath. “ Not another word, Severine.” The words would fall on deaf ears in the court; All except for the collar around Severine’s neck. To her, the collar would start to feel like it would begin tighten every time Severine would go to part her lips. The Regent keeping his gaze locked on his ‘toy’, Possibly even the old woman could feel his gaze and forced will upon her.
While Noku stood before his throne. His eyes staring out at the members within the court and the guests who also attended. Those who dared to speak, he listened to. His eyes widening at Diamonds demand for eternal damnation, though he continued to remain silent. While everyone else remained in their seats, Noku scanned the room at those talking amongst themselves. Almost everyone was shocked by the advisor’s display of insanity and hostility towards her own flesh and blood. Even more so with the evidence of foul play of poison…Among other things, the demanding of either death or her title being stripped also seemed to gossip around the room.
There were even voices the King nor did Breton expect to hear speak out in court. Noku’s golden eyes panning over to Yuki as she spoke out on Lady Zoe. His brow raised when she spoke of the advisor.“ Your voices have been heard… Including that of the damned. “ Noku spoke out, his voice silencing the entire room once again. His attention focused back on Roland and Severine, Though he gave a quick glance over his shoulder to Lilith once more, nodded to her and walked down towards the two now on trial. With each step made down to where they were, his presence seemed almost change. His mannerisms becoming more like his father as he approached Severine, keeping out of arms reach as he snapped his fingers to call for a servant. If Severine remembered anything of Noku’s childhood, she would recognize the slowly building grin on his features.
“ Severine Zoe, you are like a bad wine. Bitter, tasteless and unrefined. “ Noku spoke in an angered tone, His movements fluid and fast as he reached over to his side and pulled out a sword from one of the guards belts. His hand slung back, swinging the sharp blade out to slash at Severine’s cheek. A small spatter of blood hitting onto Roland’s sleeve.
“ Bring me a glass... “ Noku commanded, Breton finally springing into action seeing how Noku was behaving. Ooooooo Just like how he wanted! The Regent quickly retrieving a servant to fetch his cup, and ironically enough for severine. The Servant brought out a very old yet familiar cup that the King hadn’t used since the first Court hearing against Claire. The same cup, Severine had refused to take then….
Breton smiled while the servant brought out the cup, which had been filled with wine. The Servant unknowingly to him, had poured the wine that had been tampered with mild pain killers. A deed that Breton thought of personally, as the servant brought the king his wine. Meanwhile, Breton moved out of the way over to Yuki. A gentlemen’s smile present on his features as he kept his attention on the Trial, yet spoke back towards the young noble girl.
“ Young Lady D’Avranches, Your speech was well formed, You’ve been taught well in the castle’s school… However, Don't Cower from the king before delivering such a wonderful testament.... “ Breton spoke in a calm fashion, glancing back at Yuki with a pleasant smile before returning his gaze back to the trial. All the while Noku turned to look at Roland. “ From the Reports filed and made, I can not allow you to continue as my Royal Guard Captain. You failed me in that sense, yet in light of your situation….. I have deemed you an asset to this kingdom, thus I will spare your life. Your treatment was unfortunate, yet a must when cleaning out the filth in my court. You will be free to rejoin your wife momentarily….” Noku spoke in a calm yet serious manner. “ Do not unbind him until I say… I do not need your emotions Mr.Walker getting in the way.“ Noku commanded the guards not to release Roland at this time, while he turned to glare at Severine.
“ Drink this…. “ Noku looked at the servant and gestured to him to give Severine the cup. The servant did as told; though hesitantly approached the deranged woman with the cup in hand, holding it out to place it against her lips. " You refused to drink before, Though now, you have no choice. You will be stripped of everything, including your name. Even the gods look down upon you apparently; With Mylee's Champion who has damned you to Morgg. May my first cut, be your final reminder of what pain is like. Before you walk...." With those words said, the servant tipped the glass back and held Severine's nose closed. " Escort Severine to the Daisy when the glass is empty. " Noku spoke out to the guards who were holding Severine; His golden eyes keeping contact with hers. Daring not to look away from the woman who once schooled him and helped raise him into the king he was today.

Fear steeled to anger in Severine’s eyes as the jeers turned on her. Breton would be able to see the familiar look of gears turning over in her head as her eyes fixed from person to person as they turned on her, clearly recalling all she knew of them, before her eyes returned to Noku. He spoke just soon enough as she opened her mouth, suddenly silenced by the bile and flames rising in her throat. She gagged with pain, convulsing and coughing, viscous liquid that looked like blood dripping from her mouth. Roland could see it clearly from where he sat- the dark veins had crept up to her temples and her eyes had gone completely red. Something was terribly wrong.
The old woman cried out as she was struck- but it was less of a cry and more of a gargle. Blood poured down her cheek, dripping and staining the high collar and shoulder of her ivory dress. Her eyes fixed on Roland first, mouth opening and closing silently, as if trying to say something but failing to speak in anything but frothy, sputtered noises.
Aveline felt her knees shake and buckle, nearly falling at Noku’s words. Free. Roland would be free. Short lived relief sunk into her as she grasped the partition to keep herself upright. She had succeeded- Roland would live. Her eyes stayed locked on him, a brief, brilliant, familiar joyous smile crossing her face. From this distance she couldn’t clearly see her mother’s condition, but her face drained of color as the realization hit her.
Noku was going to execute her mother.
Severine thrashed as the servant pinched her nose and tried to force the wine down her throat. She spat anywhere it could go- in the face of the servant, at Roland, at Noku, until the cup was drained. Her voice rasped and gargled, wine spilling from her lips as she tried to find her voice.
“Noku-” her throat burned and she gargled again, bile and fire rising. But she had to press on. This man had doomed her to die and she had one last secret to tell. One last secret to pull Noku down to her hell for the rest of his short, pitiful life. Four words, rasped quiet enough for Noku and those surrounding her to hear but no others.
“Your brother still lives.”
A broad smile, bloody with wine and foam and viscous liquid, crossed her lips as she straightened up. She could walk to her death now, triumph numbing the flames in her throat.
(Characters with canonical superhearing can hear this, as well as Jose, Roland, and Noku, or any other guard pcs standing around those three characters.)

BAM, off goes the Noku. He was more then set off by Severine’s words against Lilith; oh look somehow she made it in there to. Aria caught Lilith’s glance, causing her to shake her head. She had to smile a little when she caught the word love come from Nokus lips when referring to Lilith. According to their girl talk….and Lilith’s reaction just there, that was probably the first time he said it. Finally it would seem Severine had earned herself the spotlight of the trial…probably a good thing for Roland. Lilith soon spoke up for herself as well; which made Aria proud for the girl. Towards the end of her speech Aria had to fight back the urge to face palm, the girl was talking about puppets and then immediately looked to her for support. Instead of face palming Aria kept her expression calm and straight, her only response was to raise an eyebrow. Lilith would have to learn to be confident in her own choices; without seeking the approval of others. Plenty of other people would likely concur with her statement.
Aria watched as Severine thrashed around; like an angry fish out of water. Turning to spit insults at Noku…Oh look they were now in the child club together. Shocking; really why was child such a commonly used insult? The reactions continued by Diamond fallowing shortly after Severine’s outburst. Blinking as Diamond damned Severine to morgg ”We can do that?...Wrong sort of god to ask but damn I don’t want to know the consequence for asking Mylee to do that….” Aria mostly was talking to herself at this point; though those directly next to her could probably hear. But she was now worried slightly for Diamond as she had indeed invoked is god to carry out his…demand. She had never known Mylee to complete anything without a consequence attached. She had asked him to save a life once; it had cost her dearly in the end.
Soon Yuki chimed in; stating the influence Severine had within the court. She was touched however that the girl spoke on her behalf. Blushing significantly at the very unexpected compliment. ”erm….Thank You” Insults she could take without missing a beat; compliments still through her for a loop. Least ones that were actually meant non sarcastically. Melda soon spoke very shortly after Yuki, with a good burrrnn to start off with. It was amusing how quickly people were to jump in to throw Severine into the spot light; when they had been so hesitant to do so with Roland.
Aria stiffened as Noku stood up and began to move towards the viper of a woman. As he did so she calmly took off her gloves just in case; tucking them into her belt. She kept her ears peeled and her eyes trained on any slight movement Severine could make. Yes Noku had guards, but frankly his skin was hers…Not something she would put full trust in others for. As Noku spoke it became clear Severine would be on the execution block; whilst Roland had earned his freedom. Severine how ever did not look as though she was going to go quietly. Arias eyebrows rose as the quiet whisper of ‘your brother still lives’ reached her sensitive ears. Aria coughed into her hand trying to gain Nokus attention. ”Umm actually she probably means me….. There was a shift in Arias appearance as she seemed to grow in height and her shoulders became wider and her jaw slightly thicker. Soon what stood in Arias place was a tall male with straight red black hair whisped back in a low ponytail. Her face was similar to her father’s however one could probably mistake the good looks for the Noru line. Her eye color remained the same; and her clothes changed to a pant and tunic; with the same color scheme. When she spoke she used a voice very similar to Cores. ”I’m really the man she’s talking about.” Aria scratched the back of her head… that probably needed rewording. ”Well I like to go about as a man sometimes; as Duchess Melda stated Severine has spies. Personally I take a great joy in feeding misinformation to people who fallow me. Every once in a while I’d change my appearance. Honestly it’s been a source of entertainment for me.” In a blink Aria was back to her normal female form; the illusion gone. ”I apologize for the confusion” Her eyes slid over to Severine; really….there was only one other person who could be suspected as a Noru right now and that was her beloved. Like hell she was letting him be brought into this; she rather take the consequences of a rumor she hadn’t really started.

Roland watched the events unfold with startling suddenness. In a matter of minutes he had gone from traitor to simply someone standing in the sidelines, true he was still being judged, Breton's words had confirmed even before he found himself standing side by side with Severine. During the course of the words Roland found his hot burning rage fading away, Severine had hurt Aveline, now she would be punished by the law, everything was as it should be. The system worked. That one thought hardened his resolve and expression, and the expression of a soldier, of the captain of the guard reasserted itself, carved from granite and unflappable.
He took Jose and Breton's warnings seriously, he had worked with both men for a long time and he knew what each was capable of, but he could not hold back one final statement before and other judgements passed and before Noku approached. "Severine, now that we are both standing here, I'd like to say one thing. I hate you." He says softly so only she could hear him.
As everyone leveled their accusations at Severine he turned to Aveline, eyes shining, and nodded his head. No matter what happened here, she deserved his support, and he could not help but love her for everything she had done.
"Sometime love and attachments make us weak, and sometimes they make us strong." He whispers, not to anyone in particular, but loud enough that Jose and Severine could hear. Then Noku began to speak and step of his throne.
It was a strange feeling watching his liege step down to judge him, a sense of de'javu which was also slightly wrong. He gathered his resolve and braced himself for Noku's judgement, then it came. So I've lost my place. Was the only thing he could think as he heard his sentence, he'd known this was coming, Glades it was probably the best outcome he could have hoped for, but still he keenly felt the sense of loss pierce through his heart. He'd failed his oath and his bond.
Deep within himself Roland felt something buck against him, it burned and hurt, he felt sick, awful...dirty.....wrong. But dealing with that was for another time. As he came back to himself Roland looked over to see Severine begin to thrash and Roland noticed the odd collar around her neck. Magic… He thinks in a moment of clarity as he watches the surreal scene.
Then it was said, ‘your brother is alive’ Roland could not help but wonder about the statement, but his mind was drawn back a sword and a woman. As Aria began to speak he looked up at her with a neutral expression as one thought passed through his mind, a half truth.
He did not move but instead waited to see what would happen next, nothing he said here would help his situation and many things would hurt it.
