APPEARANCE:  Nagamasa stands at around 5'7 feet tall, only slightly taller then most men on average from his clan and people. He has long, straight black hair that goes past his shoulders and down his back, often left loose and free. Nagamasa has one piercing blue eye; the other eye is permanently shut from a serious wound he sustained, and the eye itself behind the eyelid is all but worthless. Nagamasa is fairly well built overall from many active battles, as well as swinging around a large, heavy weapon on a frequent basis. He's known to have different ranges of smiles as well, from jolly, to sad, to kind....to downright psychotic. His chest and biceps carry small, visible scars from different wounds he has sustained, such as swords, spears, arrows, and other weapons.





For clothing, Nagamasa is often seen in his trademark red samurai armor, a mixture steel, leather, and cloth. He has square shoulder pads on, and leather gauntlets protect his hands, wrist, and forearm. The torso/chest plate is made up of layered steel and leather, making it a tough, light armor that even allows Nagamasa to swim with his armor on if he needs to. He also has pauldrons that cover his upper leg and thigh, and shin guards. He wears white tabi socks and straw sandals. Underneathe the armor he wears a black cloth combat shikakusho (long sleeved robe with trousers) with the sleeves tucked into the leather gauntlets, and the trouser going over the shin guard. His large nodachi samurai sword is either slung over his back, with a carrying sash run over his chest, or is often seen drawn and naked, resting on Nagamasa's shoulder,




PERSONALITY: Nagamasa has been described as a wild maverick in many instances of those who know him. He's confident to the point of being cocky, which has landed him in some unique situations. Fairly intelligent, Nagamasa is a strategic thinker who can improvise under extreme stress and duress. He is also capable of being diplomatic when the need arises....though he often prefers to settle matters with a blade more then he does with words. He has a strong sense of moral justice and honor, and is a strong believer in the tradition of a warrior's way of life. When he is on the field of any battlefield, from a tavern brawl to a large scale war, his "eye" lights afire with glee, and his signature psycho grin paints his face. The thrill of combat makes Nagamasa feel alive more then anything in the world, and he has no qualms admitting this to just about anyone that asks him. During combat, if leading a unit, Nagamasa likes to lead by example at the front of the line, doing no less then the man next to him. He has, however, been known for his bloodlust; he makes it no secret that he enjoys killing his opponent just as much as he loves fighting, reveling in the sensation of blood. 





Off the battlefield, Nagamasa tends to be an outgoing individual, and is also known for being a bit brash and outspoken. He puts little to no value in speaking etiquette, so he comes off as rude and uncouth to many of the nobles that would pay coin for his services. Those that know him however know he means well and he has been known to extend a helping hand to those that need it. He does have a fairly short and violent temper, though despite his aforementioned blood lust, he does not draw his sword over petty squabbles or arguments. The only people who feel the bite of his steel are those who would fight against him, or those who truly anger him, be it through a grave insult, or something that they did that he felt was morally unforgivable. He is also HIGHLY protective of the sword he carries, to the point were he sleeps with it clenched tightly in his hands, ready to be used if he is awoken the wrong way.

BIOGRAPHY:  Sakai Nagamasa AKA "Hawkeye" was born into a prestigious, noble samurai family from the far east. His is a clan of warriors, and Nagamasa was no exception to this rule. He killed his first man at twelve years old, and has never forgotten the sensation of taking that life. He soon became infamous for his blood lust even within his own clan. Were it not for his father, he would have grown to be an unruly bully, using his power as a fighter and status as a samurai to oppress lower peoples. It was his father that taught him the tenants of Bushido...or at least tried to. Nagamasa took the core values to heart, but he never developed a sense of etiquette or manners. The young man was still seen as an asset and promoted, leading his own unit.

While out on a scouting mission, Nagamasa and his unit found an old abandoned temple. Housed in a shrine inside was a long samurai sword. The sword was not normal; it seemed to have a will of it's own, and beckoned the young samurai to pick it up. He listened to the  whispers...and a darkness attempted to take a hold of his body. With incredible will, he was able to stave it off. He could tell it was a sword of immense power, and he did not have to wait long to test it, as his unit was ambushed by a much larger force. He charged to try and lead his men...and most of them fell. Nagamasa himself took an arrow to the eye, and several stab wounds and sword strikes should have been his end. However, the sword became covered in blood, drinking it's fill...and he started to heal faster then he could die. He wiped out the unit, and it was then that he realized that the sword he carried was too dangerous for anyone to use.

After the incident, Nagamasa has embarked on a Musha Shugyo, or Warrior's Pilgrimage, so that he may see the world...and become more strong willed to wield his new cursed sword.



INVENTORY: 

Satsujinki (Murderous Ogre): This monster sword is always on Nagamasa at all times. A single edged katana "nodachi", it is six feet in length, including the handle. The handle is a foot long for good grip, and it has a round tsuba, or hand guard. It is no normal sword, either; an evil presence inhabits the blade, which was formed after the sword was seeped in the blood of 1,000 victims. The evil presence tries to draw people to wield the sword and go on a murderous killing spree, as it literally drinks the blood of those it kills. This passes on a unique benefit to it's wielder, however; a portion of the blood taken is used to heal wounds sustained by the owner, allowing him to slaughter even if he is being wounded. However, the blood must be FRESH blood, taken from those who are still warm bodied. The blade is also supernaturally sharp; it can cut through even plate metal, and is fine enough to split a hair.

Samurai Armor: Made of laquered leather and steel, Nagamasa's armor is deceptively tough and can deflect most blades. It is not enchanted, however, so it can be pierced by normal weapons such as spears or arrows.


Daikyu (Samurai Longbow): Slung across his shoulder, Nagamasa rarely uses his bow, preferring to fight head to head with his opponent. When the situation demands for it, however, he is a crack shot with a bow, and thsi long bow is almost as tall the user.

Abilities: 



Strength of a Samurai: Nagamasa is stronger then most humans, despite his frame. He can easily match people bigger then him in physical combat. It also allows him to wield his six foot sword with relative easy in one hand. He isn't superhuman, of course; he can only handle so much before his strength gives out.



Will of the Samurai: Nagamasa has an unusually strong constitution. He is not only able to power through debilitating physical wounds, but also assaults against his mind from supernatural forces, including those made daily by his own sword.



COMBAT: 

Master Swordsman: While it looks ridiculous, Nagamasa is lethal with his sword. He takes full advantage of the range and power that it gives him, and is able to swing it deceptively fast due to his almost unnatural strength.

Sharp Senses: Nagamasa's life on the road is one of constant paranoia; he lives as a mercenary on the road, and is often targeted by not only bandits, but those drawn to the whispers of his sword. He's learned to be a light sleeper, and his ears and "eye" are very sharp, even earning him the nickname Hawkeye.

Skilled Archer: Though his prowess with the sword is better, Nagamasa is no slouch with a bow, able to hit a target with a kill shot at 100 paces with his yumi.
