Its all in your head (Nyx)

[Nyx]

Nyx wasn’t expecting the tears at all from what she knew of Selkiris for the time that she met him the moon temple not so long ago to now was that he wasn’t a man to show emotions that easy; her simple reading of what she could see on his sister moved him to tears. She was in awe that something so simple could move someone to tears. Hearing that he wanted to repay her was even more shocking she wasn’t expecting payment at all since she couldn’t give a more accurate reading of the future. “Uh… you don’t need to repay me. Seriously I was happy to help. Plus there is nothing that I could ever want. I have a job, friends, a roof over my head at night. Those are all the things a person could ever want and even if I did I could never ask for your help since it wouldn’t feel right.”



Looking up she saw the waitress coming back with they food, she was relieved cause she didn’t know if she could handle Selkiris this way. When he is emotionless, talking down on Zeapon, even making fun of her she could handle but him in tears that were something she wasn’t prepared for. Watching her put the food down she pushed the soup towards him. “Here you should eat now.” She said trying to make the mood a little lighter.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris wiped his tears away and nodded briefly, trying to get back to his emotionless state. "Okay....okay......if you say so." Selkiris watched as the waitress brought their food. He thank the waitress and quickly began eating. The soup definitely wasn't the best he ever had but it was decent enough. "So Nyx. What was your family like? Im guess rather happy one to have such a cheery girl like yourself." Selkiris did not bother looking up at Nyx. He merely just continued to eat, his head down watching his soup. He was paying attention to what Nyx would say, but he was also thinking about something. Thinking about his past and his future. How his life has come down to moments like these.

[Nyx]

Nyx smiled a little when Selkiris seem to return his original emotionless she liked him better this way compared to how he was just moments ago. Taking small bits of her stew when he asked about her family for her to be cheery personality. “Well to tell you the truth my mother was an angel. No, I don’t mean like she was sweet and nice and everyone loved her. I mean she was a real angel. Still, question how my dad even got her mother to agree to marry him. I only got to be with my family for some ten years really, because of schooling so I got to be with my little sister for some time. The first three years I could visit my family a lot but after that, I got into a lot of trouble in school and wasn’t allowed to. So, I guess my family was normal minus being not being able to see them for about five years.”


Ripping off a little of the bread she thought about it for a while on how she was raised minus her parents she was raised more by her teachers and different deities along with her classmates. “I guess my family are more my classmates and teachers more than anything.” Continuing to eat, her mind wandering away for a moment wondering about her school family, were they doing okay did they even notice that she was missing, how much time has passed in her world compared to how much time had passed since she been in Nova. During this time if Selkiris was to ask her anything she wouldn’t answer for a bit before asking him to repeat what he said.

[Selkiris]

"I see......." Was the only thing Selkiris said. He had finally finished his soup and gently pushed it away from him. Selkiris's mind also wandered for a moment. This time he was wondering about the creature he served. "Not human enough to comprehend but more human than you would be comfortable with......" Selkiris muttered to himself. That was what the Ancient One said to describe himself. Not human enough to comprehend but more human than I would be comfortable with....I still don't fully understand what he meant by that. The not being human enough to comprehend was easy but also being human enough for it to be unsettling? How is that possible?

[Nyx]

“Not human enough to comprehend but more human than one is comfortable with.” She said repeating his words out loud wondering how those words fit her life. She was not enough human to understand all those emotions, nor did she worry about marrying young out of fear of dying in the blink of an eye but she was also half human that sometimes made her wonder if she was completely one and not half of two if her life would be easier. “More human than I am comfortable with because of human emotions, they cloud judgment sometimes. At those times, it is easier wish one was completely human or completely they other race. It is hard to be accepted by either race because you’re not of pure blood.” She said as she finished up her stew taking little pieces to nibble on as a few silent tears rolled down her cheek. It felt strange to voice her hidden darkest feelings to someone that she had wished that times she was born either a pure angel or pure human. “Uh… what is your favorite colour?” Trying to turn they sad mood back to something cheerful hopefully.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris lifted his head up as he heard Nyx talk. Once he saw the tears he realized she was talking about herself. Selkiris sighed. "I apologize Nyx. I was not talking about you. I was speaking of my master. It was what he used to describe himself when I asked what he was. But sometimes I wonder if he was speaking about himself...or the first...." Selkiris quickly shook his head. "No....that is not a very cheerful topic and I assure you it is one you don't want to listen to. Now uh....lets see......oh yes my favorite colour. It would have to be blue. It helps me think and is everywhere." Selkiris said. He was really trying not to continue the topic he had brought up. He was very serious when he said it was one Nyx wouldn't want to hear. It was a story filled with evil and death.

[Nyx]

Quickly wiping away the tears as she shook her head, before taking a deep breath it felt nice to get some of the weight off her shoulders even if it was just emotional baggage. Taking her time to finish up her bread she pushed her bowl to the side so that whenever the waitress came back around she could take them. “Blue? So, like my own eyes.” She said as batted her eyes a bit before falling to a small fit of giggles at the thought him only liking blue because of her eyes. “But I’ll be honest I like blue as well. It’s a calming colour. Then again a twin tail nekomata could have the same effect if you wanted a fluffy want pet to cuddle with.”

[Selkiris]

Selkiris gave off a slight blush when she spoke of her own eyes. He didn't even notice that her eyes were also blue until now. "U-uh yes.....like...your eyes....and mine." Selkiris said quietly. Selkiris looked at Nyx confused when she brought up nekomata. "What exactly is this Nekomata? I don't think I have ever come across one in my travels. And if I have.......I can bet one of my shadow beast had scared it off before I could see it." Selkiris also thought the shadow beast could have eaten creatures like those but he didn't want to bring that up in front of Nyx. To Selkiris he saw Nyx as puppy or kitten. A kind little creature that can be easily corrupted if shown or told certain things.

[Nyx]

Nyx liked the little reaction she got out of him when she said like her eyes it a cute. Once she calmed down a like from her laughing fit she realized that she had mentioned something in her native language that might not even be in this world. “A Nekomata loosely translated in your language means cat demon. Now I know you think I am crazy for wanting to keep a cat demon for a pet but they are cute and adorable.” She said trying to explain her craziness so that she didn’t sound completely insane on wanting a pet demon. “Do you have a pet or want a pet?”

[Selkiris]

Selkiris chuckled when she said the nekomata was a cat demon. He certainly wasn't expecting that of all things. "I won't judge Nyx. If you wish to have a 'cute' cat demon, whatever I'm not your father. I am not going to judge for that kind of thing." When Nyx asked if he had a pet or wanted one he went quiet for a moment. "Well I have my shadow beasts...I do not know if they are considered a pet but they are loyal and obey my commands so I like to believe they are a pet of some kind." Selkiris actually wasn't sure what the shadow beast were, but that didn't matter as they did what they were asked and they were extremely loyal. He thought that was enough to be consider a pet..or at least a companion.

[Nyx]

Nodding her head hearing that he wasn’t the type to judge her if she wanted a pet cat demon. Listening to him at the mention of his ‘pet’ being shadow beast she did have to think about it for a moment. Based on what he told her about them being loyal and obedient it could be called a pet or maybe a companion. “I would call it a pet.” Turning her eyes to the window she notices that the rain had started to let up enough that she could see outside, and from where she was sitting she could see a faded rainbow. “Well, it looks like you might be leaving me now that the rain has calmed down a little.”

[Selkiris]

Selkiris looked outside and saw the rain letting up. "I guess so.......I apologize Nyx but I have been seriously thrown off schedule and I must go somewhere immediately. I am already late and sunlight is being wasted." Selkiris got up and bowed to Nyx, leaving some money on the table to pay for the drinks and food before leaving. He sighed and looked up at the sky. So many things to do. Such little time to do it.

[Nyx]

Nyx nodded her head. “Just be safe Selkiris.” Giving a bow of her head she reminded seated for a bit waiting for the waitress to come over as she watched him walked out. Taking out money to pay for her meal she watched all the happy people before leaving herself needing to return to her inn room before it got too late.
