World Diseases
Gizyns Ague
Gizyns, while being rather sweet reptiles they also secrete a strong hallucinogenic ooze from their backs when they're angry. It's only dangerous when swallowed or if it gets into the victims eyes, mouth or any open wounds. Those unlucky enough to catch Gizyn Ague know it's symptoms right away; the toxin turns the stomach and gives the victim an awful fever and stomach ache. The fever is so severe that bones have been broken by shivering too hard. The Ague also gives its victims distinctly red, wet eyes and secret liquids to the point of dehydration. Thankfully, it is relatively easy to treat, requiring a few drops of the serum from a stem of the Lunar drop flower.
Manna Corruption
Human bodies were not meant to contain or hold any amount of Manna within the Body; The only reason why mortals now have the ability to channel Manna is because of the Goddess of Magic and Chaos, Caster, The creator of Caster's Sorrow the source of human's ability to 'use' magic. Caster's Sorrow is highly chaotic and unruly and comes in two known forms, a solid and a vapor. In vapor form however CS is highly dangerous and can easily enter the body through the mouth and nose. Normally it is usually exhaled, However, sometimes -- thankfully rarely -- trace amounts of Manna remain trapped inside the body. Too much manna trapped inside the body's 'manna channels' can cause Manna Corruption, an incredibly dangerous disease that is known to highly lethal if not treated extremely quickly.
The infected will become more fatigued and will have loss of appetite. Then after several days the affected flesh surrounding the manna pocket will begin to turn black and become numb. The Manna Corruption will spread through out the body faster if the afflicted person uses magic or if magic is cast on them. After several days of intense pain, the infected chard black skin will immediately begin to hemorrhage uncontrollably on contact with any other traces of Manna in the air. If the condition is untreated, then the Manna Corruption will take hold and completely change the structure and physical appearance of that being or creature. Treatment is extremely difficult and often unsuccessful, but it involves a complex almost impossible Light spell. Most Light style users know how to use it, but it is notoriously unreliable.
Azle Spasms
Any native of Teair knows not to drink the water directly from the Goussael River. The river has high levels of bacteria that gives the rocks and water it's red-ish hue. The bacteria in the water is a perfect breeding ground to grow and cultivate this disease-causing agent. If someone drinks the water without boiling or trying to purify the water first, then the person who consumed the water will start showing symptoms of Azle Spasms within an hour. This illness causes muscle spasms, chest pains, and vomiting - sometimes containing blood. If the Spasms are not treated then the condition can worsens over the course of several days, however, the Azle Spasms will clear up on its own. Lunar Flowers can be used to help speed up the healing process along with plenty of rest.
