Roland stood the in the middle of the walker mansion lawn with several large pieces of metal. Since his return the former head of the palace guard had decided he needed to begin fixing the place up, and more importantly magically defending it from all the threats that seemed to materialize in his life.
In retrospect he supposed he shouldn't have been surprised, he'd made a lot of enemies as captain of the royal guard, and while he had some friends, they were not the types to try and take on deities of kings to help him. With that Roland began to pound the metal slats into the ground forming a rune that made up the one of the many anchor points for his teleportation ward. He had no desire to have people intrude into his home via magical means so he had set up over a dozen anchors around the grounds, hiding them in various places.
Once this was done he would need to start working on the Golems and the alarm ward. a grimace crossed his lined face as he thought of all of the work that still needed to be done, security here had been laughable.
With a final strike he finally finished the rune and then with a hand wave and an effort of will he grew the grass to conceal the rune. "Well it does feel good to move around and work again, I need to get back into shape." He grumbled a bit already thinking about how he would need to get strong enough to pick up his daughter when she got a bit older. Magic was wonderful, but there was something special about being able to hold your family with your own strength.

Lilith hadn’t seen the couple since the night of the Trial, after Aveline had successfully given birth to their beautiful baby girl. Deciding she needed to check in on them, see how they were fairing since it all, Lilith headed over one afternoon, a small basket in her hands. She was dressed very plainly in a denim blue cut dress, sleeves hemmed at her elbows with a square neckline. Her hair was down like a platinum cape.
As she approached the estate, she saw a figure in the middle of the lawn, working on something. As she got closer she recognized him to be her old boss and mentor. She cleared her throat lightly to announce her presence, a soft smile on her face. Good morning Roland. Lilith spoke up slightly, trying to work on the whole “first-name” thing, like Aveline had asked her to.

As soon as Lilith entered the grounds the large stone lion over the fountain turned its head slightly, Roland had animated it while he was around. Unfortunately he had not yet been able to fully animate it as a long term golem, but he would get to that in the next couple of days.
As the statue moved Roland's eyes rose and fell on his platinum haired visitor. With a grunt Roland rose to his feet and he raised a dirt covered hand. "Greetings Lilith, it's good to see you again, what brings you hear?" He asked curiously as the lion turned back towards the front.
"Are you hear for lessons? Or maybe to visit Aveline?" Roland seemed somewhat lighter than before he almost appeared to be in a good mood.

Lessons? Are we still doing those? Lilith laughed nervously, not sure how to tell him her healing powers had… well… “completed” themselves in a sense. But then again, she was unaware of his ability to sense divine magic, so maybe he’d notice on his own. (No one would blame him if he hadn’t noticed during Avelines labour, it was a stressful time).
Really, I came to see how both of you were doing; I figured I could check on both Aveline and Jeon’s health as well as say hello. She smiled sweetly, genuine in her response. She noted how much lighter Roland seemed to be; less burdened and brooding. It suited him.

Roland shrugged in response to Lilith’s question. “Well to be honest, you seem to have it under control so I assumed you were fine on the magic end.” Roland walked over to a nearby rock and with an expression of focus he raised a hand and the rock slowly began to reshape itself.
“Both Aveline and Jeon are recovering, I will admit I was worried at first, but things seems to be going better. I am sure she would love to see you.” As he drops his hand he turns to her with a more neutral expression. “Before we go in can I ask you something?”
“How has his majesty been doing?...Is he happy?” Roland asked, even if he did not work as a guard anymore, he still seemed to worry about the king, even if the two of them never seemed to quite be able to connect.

Lilith smiled proudly, straitening her shoulders. I’d like to think I do as well. The healing aspect anyways. My earth magic could use some work. She admitted with a sigh, lowering her shoulders again. As he explained Aveline and Jeon were in recovery, Lilith smiled with relief. Oh I’m happy to hear that. I can’t get enough of your little babies face; she’s just so cute! Lilith laughed, grinning. She wasn’t kidding; the kid was adorable.
When Roland became more neutral and asked if he could ask her something, she nodded for him to continue. When he asked again the King, Lilith calmed her own expression, becoming serious with him. He’s paranoid; of course he is, your wife was shot in the middle of his throne room. He’s upset about Mysteria, he was worried about Aveline; he even asked how the birth went. Lilith sighed. But I think he’s relaxing a bit; at least I’m trying to get him to. It’s going to take some time; but… I think I help… I know how self centred that must sound… I just- he always looks so serious. But I can get him to laugh. He doesn’t laugh enough. Lilith flushed, realizing she had probably gone into more detail than roland had been expecting.
Sorry. Its a work in progress, but he’ll be okay. She nodded, face still pink.
