Blossom Festival Date for: Lucinda Noru and @adrainLocation: Willow’s Meadow NPC’d by: Lindsay Ah, secret lovers, how sweet. Wherever they may be, they would hear the sound of a twig snapping from behind them. Upon looking back, they would see nothing. Looking forward, their vision would immediately be blinded by a bright flashing light. The sound of a woman’s cackling can be heard echoing from one ear to the other. Once the star-crossed pair would open their eyes, the would see the willow’s meadow. It was mid-day. The sun was bright and there was little wind. Near the lovers was a series of large targets, launching mechanisms with a stack of plates and fruits, bows with red and pink feathers, and bows made of stained oak. Leaning against one of the launching mechanisms would be a bottle of champagne, and two champagne flukes. Before their vision returned, they would hear a voice right next to their ears “ Take a shot, you never know what will happen.” And just as quickly as the wind blew, the voice was gone.

Lucinda had spent the morning strolling in the castle garden, enjoying the warm weather and the new season. The gardens plants were all in bloom and everywhere she looked were beautiful birds or adorable critters reveling in the sunshine. She donned a dress to suit the occasion. It was short for a royal, the loose skirt flouncing around her knees. The was corseted with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder, short sleeves. The whole thing was a lovely shade pink with slightly darker threading. Simple, yet refined and perfect for the weather. Her blonde hair had been left down, brushing her bare shoulders and framing her delicate face.
As she made her way amongst the hedgerows, the princess heard the snap of a twig. She turned, assuming it would be another royal or perhaps a servant sent for her. She stared curiously at the empty space, shrugging it off as a rabbit perhaps, before turning around to continue her walk. As she turned, a bright light obscured her vision, rendering her unable to see and a strange cackle sent a shiver up her spine.
After a moment, her vision began to return. Lucinda blinked, her blue eyes widening as she realized that she was no longer in the castle gardens. It appeared to be a large meadow, perhaps Willow's Meadow, she thought absently. Though the exact location was of little importance. Looking around, she noticed quite a number of archery targets paired with launchers and bows. Stacks of fruit sat nearby along with arrows as obviously intended projectiles. Her eyes spotted the bottle of champagne. That was definitely not a projectile.
The princess heard the voice in her ear just before she finally noticed that she was not alone in this meadow. She smiled sheepishly as Adrain, a blush coloring her cheeks to match her dress. "When I sent you the rose, I was not expecting anything like this to occur. My apologies, if you were busy with work or some other important matter," she said quietly, eyeing her pink sandal heels.

Adrain had begun to go about his day, but with hardly much of a time would go past before he faintly sensed a presence of divine origin and found himself warped once more away to another place. He scowled and looked around, before his eyes narrow in on Lucinda. When she explained and took some responsibility for what happened, he shook his head.
"Well it's alright...its mostly the abrupt teleportation that throws me off." he says, looking around. "So...did you plan this?"

Lucinda blushed even as Adrain assured her it was just alright. She followed his gaze as he looked around the meadow, the blush fading to a look of excitement. "No, not exactly. All I did was buy the rose. This is amazing though. It looks like we could have a lot of fun with this equipment," she said, walking over to inspect the bow and arrows.
Turning around, Lucinda eyed the plates of fruits, licking her small pink lips. "I would hate to waste all the fruit on target practice though. There's enough here for a small picnic," she muttered then she grinned as she spied the champagne. She picked up the bottle, waving it at Adrain and smiling.

"I see, I see..." Adrain says, looking over the area and getting a surmise. The energy was different that pulled him here, with a faint hint of something familiar though he couldn't entirely put his finger on it. He looks at the Archery equipment: not his strong suit but nobody is perfect at everything. When she seemed interested in a picnic a bubble of sweat went down his head.
"Ah yes Alcohol, cause we've never gotten in trouble with that, no?" he says with a slight smirk.

Lucinda blushed at the reminder of the last time the pair had indulged in alcohol together. A small guilty smile settled on her face. "This is different. There's no love potion and no ARC, so we shall be on our toes. A small glass or two won't hurt, it's only champagne," she said, though she set the bottle back down for the time being. "I'll admit, it's probably best not to drink and shoot catapults or bows at the same time though," she added.
The princess then picked up one of the available bows and inspected it. She ran her hands over the wood then assumed her stance, drawing back on the string experimentally and then releasing it slowly so as not to hurt herself. Seeming satisfied, she picked up one of the arrows. Lucinda notched the arrow with a sure hand, took quick aim at a target some 40 paces away and let loose with a deadly precision. The arrow sank into the center mark with a thwack and the princess grinned, clearly pleased with herself.

"mmmhmm.." Adrain replies coyly with a chuckle, then watching as Lucinda would pick up a bow and fling an arrow at a target. Adrain looks at a target, picks up an arrow, and throws it, using a spell to cause air to accelerate it and launch it across the field landing in another target way off center. He exhales.

Lucinda watched Adrain's version of archery, smiling. "That is certainly one way to do it. I love the feel of the bow, though. This is my first time shooting out in the open like this though. I usually just practice in the castle training grounds. I don't think I'd be able to apply this to a combat situation either," she mused, picking up a strawberry from one of the fruit plates and munching on it.

"Mmm well don't worry about combat, just to try relax and enjoy the day." Adrain says, looking over and picking up one of the normal wooden bows and looking at it. He didn't have much practice with these but it was basically cheating to use magic. He nocks an arrow and raises it to a target, trying to eyeball it.
Releasing the arrow, the projectile flies past the thing quickly, the arrow flies out of sight with only a loud squawk coming from the foliage nearby causing Adrain to go wide eyed and silent.

Lucinda smiled as Adrain advised her to just enjoy the day, nodding. "It's not often we get a chance to spend some time by ourselves these days and it's a lovely day out," she agreed, still munching on the fruit plates.
She watched as Adrain picked up a bow, amused. It as obvious in the way he handled it that he didn't have much experience, but she appreciated that he was trying anyway. She watched as the arrow sailed way past the target and into the trees, her blue eyes wide. A loud squawk echoed through the meadow and the princess looked anxiously at Adrain. She couldn't tell from his expression how he felt about it. "umm, I think you got it," she said quietly, hoping he didn't feel bad for maybe killing the bird.

"...Uh...yeah...I think I will stick to magic..." Adrain says, then putting the bow down and exhaling. "Something that seems so straightforward has a very deceptively talented art behind it." he muses. He looks to Lucinda and smiles trying to reassure here that things would be fine and then moves to sit on a log near to the area and exhales. "Sorry about the random bird murder."

Lucinda giggled a bit as Adrain put the bow down, nodding. "I would say that archery is probably not your specialty," she said, smiling gently. His observation about the sport needing talent pulled the smile into a grin. "It takes practice and dedication, like anything else worth learning. I've been doing archery since I was a little girl. It's one of the only forms of combat or weapons that's acceptable for ladies to learn. I consider it very relaxing personally," she explained, sighting up another target and quickly sinking another arrow in the bull's eye.
The princess spun around on her heel, notching another arrow in the same movement and hitting another target that had, a moment before, been directly behind her. She smirked, nodding to herself and then set the bow aside. Lucinda picked up the champagne bottle that had been in debate earlier, along with the glasses, and joined Adrain on the log. "Don't worry about the bird. I'm sure some forest predator will make good use of it," she said, resting her hand on his knee in what was meant to be a reassuring gesture.
Lucinda pulled at the cork on the bottle, a little furrow forming between her brows. With a sigh, she held the bottle out to Adrain, clearly unable to open it. She would wait for him to take it and then look around the meadow. "I've never been this far out away from the cities without a complete guard and escort. It's beautiful out here though, very peaceful," she commented. She kicked off her fancy shoes and wriggled her toes in the spring grass, sighing happily.

He nodded and agreed with what Lucinda said, not having anything meaningful to say or contribute than to agree. When she came over and offered a bottle that she couldn't get open, he picked it up and started to pull at it, tugging and yanking at it, the cork stuck in there.
"It really is nice, like really with your progress in water magic you will find yourself more than capable of handling yourself, though obviously the reality is such that you won't really get away alone too long normally.." he says, yanking and tugging at the thing some more. He didn't want to use magic to force it open. Finally with one strong tug, the bottle finally yields!
However the pressure and shaking around causes the cork to go flying and the liquid to begin to spray, which may or may not be in Lucindas direction...

Lucinda pursed her lips thoughtfully at Adrain's words, watching with amusement as he wrestled with the bottle. "You really think I have that much potential?" she asked. The thought of actually being able to handle herself was pleasing. She was started to hate feeling so helpless all of the time. Yes she was a princess but did that mean she couldn't be fierce and capable? Technically yes, because combat was frowned upon where women were concerned but that didn't seem fair.
She was abruptly pulled from her musings as Adrain finally got the cork out of the bottle, the pressure causing the champagne to erupt and spray out. Lucinda found herself half soaked in the liquid, her light pink dress darkening where it splashed her chest and hair. She shrieked and then gasped, looking down at the ruined garment. "That was...unexpected," she said, wiping her face a bit. She looked distinctly uncomfortable as she tried to shake and wring out her hair and brushed at her dress ineffectually.

"Of course, you have a talent that is considerable, it's also encouraging that a Noru has that gift since hopefully it might ease the King's approach to such magics." he says with a warm smile as Lucinda's eyes seemed to glimmer with youthful hope. It almost made him feel old seeing her enthusiasm in contrast to his tempered approach to things.
Adrain's expression changed to one of horror, feeling as though everything were backfiring for him right now. He sighed and calmed. "Sorry..let me...fix this." he says, as he holds his hands up as he gently begins to have the wine come out of Lucinda's clothing and hair, forming and coalescing into a small ball near her.
