A moment for love(Amiee, Calix, Request)

Leon woke up early and started getting ready, after all he was planning something big today, he would go to visit Amiee and ask her father’s permission to court his daughter though he did not tell Amiee about it either. After bringing a bottle of wine as a gift, carrying his trusty bow and a quiver, he was accompanied by a guard out of the castle since he would not allow any incident happen like at their first meeting. And if anything did happen he would probably shoot an arrow in between their eyes. To Leon this was probably one of the most important events in his life and he refused to have anything get in his way today.

He left the castle with the guard behind him and quickly made his way to the Third District, at the entrance to the Inn, he told the guard to stay outside before walking inside and took a look to see if Amiee was anywhere to be seen. After seeing that she was near one of the tables he quickly walked behind her and surprised her “ Hello Amiee” Leon said with a smile as he waited for her to turn around.

Amiee had been wiping down the tables while humming, hearing the door open she didn’t look up thinking it was one of the regular customers. That was until she heard Leon’s voice which caused her to jump since she never told him where she lived and that was for a few good reasons. Calming down her beating heart she turned slowly and smiled a little. “Hello, Leon.” Wrapping her arms around Leon pulling him into a hug. “What are you doing here?” She asked wondering if Leon had lost his mind, they didn’t plan to meet today. Plus, all the other times they had met up it was always in the second district or on the occasion just outside the city gates. She wondered how he even found that she lived here she since never told him.

“I’m here to speak with your father, I forced one of the guards that escorted you home last time to tell me exactly where you lived. “ Leon smiled before doing a quick glance around and leaned closer to her ear “ I’m planning on asking your father to allow me to court you “ Leon whispered with a smile “ We have been together for some time and it only seemed right to tell your father about it, Though I’m not sure how he would take it” Scratching his head he smiled hoping for the best “ and don’t worry I did not sneak out of the castle this time, the guard is outside of the building. I hopefully do not plan on having any interruptions today since it’s an extremely important day” Leon smiled showing the bow and arrows on his back and waist. “Anyways Amiee is it possible to have somewhere private for me to talk to your father? I think if I was to say it here others would join in.” leon asked looking at the people in different tables drinking or passed out.

Listening to Leon before a soft blush appeared on her cheeks he was here to ask her father permission to court her. It was sweet of him and she wouldn’t mind seeing they relationship develop into something more but she was a tiny bit worried about Leon’s personal safety. “Um… Leon for your safety you talking here would be better. I can set up a table further away from everyone plus it is still early.” Amiee said being honest with him, plus if her father ended up wanting to harm poor Leon at least them being in public would make it less painful for Leon.


Walking over to one of the tables closer to the back corner with a nice view out the window. “You can sit here I’ll get papa.” She said after she gave Leon and hugged and went off in search for her adopted father. Entering the kitchen, she saw her father and told him that a young male wished to speak with him about a delicate matter and would direct Calix to the table that Leon was sitting at following behind him. “Um… Father this is Leon. Leon this is my father.” She said making the introductions and prayed to Ai that this meeting would go well.

Calix had left the inn and the care of his daughter in the faithful hands of his staff as he had traveled to a neighboring town to pick up the year’s supply of spices and booze. He finally was returning to the inn that day; he just got back and was currently unloading the supplies brought in. As he walked into the kitchen he was greeted by his daughter….wishing for him to discuss a delicate matter? To say he was intrigued would be an understatement. Calix fallowed his daughter to the table; his eyebrow raising as he looked down at a young man. ”Well Leon….I’m a busy man, what is this delicate matter that I should know about?”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you sir, I know you’re busy” Leon said while taking deep breathes to make sure he doesn’t mess up as well as take a few glances at Amiee “I was hoping you would allow me to court your daughter Amiee” Leon bowed down in front of Calix as he asked hoping for the best. Knowing he may make a fool of himself and that there were at least a few people watching made him feel embarrassed.

Calix folded his arms and frowned….his eyes turning cold as he looked down at this scrap of a man. “Why, would I let you marry my daughter, when you did not even have the manners to introduce yourself fully.” He turned to his daughter. “Amiee I would like to know when and where you met….this; I wasn’t even aware you had an interest. Keeping secrets from your dear ol’ Da” he wasn’t even to sure who the lad was; or when this thing even started with his daughter. Surely it couldn’t have been long.

Amiee giggled a little when Calix commented on Leon not doing a full introduction. It nice to see someone else on the receiving end of things that was until the tables were turned on her. Her eyes widen she wasn't expecting that if she truly honest, she half expected that she would be excused to go to her daily work and not get too involved with the decision. "Um... Well, you see I met Leon here close to the middle of Phasma when I was in the town square." She said deciding to leave out that part that she was singing. "Well one thing led to another and we end up talking before the guards came and dragged Leon back to the castle." As soon as those last words left her mouth she knew that she had made a mistake but it was too late to change it now since it was out there. "See the reason the guards came and took Leon back to the castle was because he left without properly informing anyone and without at least one guard given his status."

"Um... Well it's kinda new and it only been three months since Leon and I met and we been hanging out." Taking the end of the hair she started to fiddle with it feeling a bit nervous as she bit her lips. "To be honest he kind of surprised today saying that he came to ask you permission to well..." She cheeks turned rosy pink at the simple thought since it wasn't something she was expecting at least not anytime soon.

“I’m sorry sir, my name is Count Leon Jaeger, from the House of Jaeger in Palico” Leon bowed his head to Calix. Hoping he didn’t ruin his chances he slowly rose his head. “Your daughter Amiee has been helping me around the city and we have meeting for some time” Leon looked at Amiee when she mentioned him showing up today before looking at Calix “I thought it would be rude to you if we continued to meet without your approval sir. I know it may be a bit late and we may have started on the wrong foot but please” Leon bowed his head to Calix again “Please allow me to court your daughter.”

It had been that long? Well longish….not yet even a year since these two met and this man was already asking to court his Amiee? His eyebrows rose as his daughter continued to explain….NOW GUARDS WHERE INVOLVED? Wait status……..now he was just confused. ”Amiee your explanation leaves much to be desired.” He looked back over at Leon as he began to speak, his eyebrows raising in surprise when he introduced himself as a count….A count wanted his Amiee? Well if he was noble it explained a few things. Especially with how quickly he was moving; it was improper for a noble to be with a lady alone unless he was her intended; or body guard, or some other nuance that would make it alright. Commoners just didn’t care about all those finite rules; that and usually family’s needed all the hands they could get to work. Which was why commoner females got spoken for much later in life than that of noble females.

Calix was silent for a while after hearing Leons reasons; he sat there stroking his beard in thought. ”Amiee has never received an education; at least when it comes in terms with a noble lady’s. I worry that she would feel out of place within the courts. After all she’s still very young in phioric terms. However you have earned a portion of my respect for asking my permission given that your status is much higher than my own. I thank you for this. …but Amiee if this is what you wish….then I will agree under two conditions.”

Leon looked at Calix and slowly began answering the questions he could “ That is fine sir, there are various tutors in the castle, and if needed I could probably have a couple tutors come to Nova to help Amiee get the education she would need to fit in with the other nobles. From the time I been here it seems most of the nobles staying in the castle is pretty understanding and not as crazy about status outside of formal events.” Leon then took a look at Amiee and back at Calix, “If anything is unsatisfactory with anything, I’ll do the best I can to change it as well to make sure she has an easy life Sir”

Amiee just smiled and rubbed the back of her head acting as innocent as possible when Calix said that her explanation was lacking. She didn’t know what else to say since this was a more a Leon thing when it came to this since she was just there to fill in any blank spots. She did blush a bit when Leon brought up them meeting recently to hang out and just talk and explore the city. Minus the first incident most of they meeting had been tame and either walked around town or just went and relax in the park and just talk and get to know each other a bit more.



When her father brought up the issue of her having never received an education it was the first time she thought about it. She didn’t know anything about the court or even how to act like a noble lady in the first place, then again, she never thought that Leon would have asked this soon on either she was expecting maybe in another year then again human’s lifespan was shorter than her own. “Um… well… I do like Leon… and as long as I have your approval papa I would like Leon to court me.” She said smiling brightly though she did wonder what the conditions were all she could think about were that Leon wasn’t allow to get her a cat as a condition.
