Two Halves Of One Heart [Roland and Aveline]

Well this is certainly interesting... An amused cackle left her mouth as she set off to her next pairing, having already set the destination up for them. It was early afternoon on a lovely light day, a slight breeze to calm the warm air. Just the right about of sunlight and birds singing. A real fairytale dream. Willows Meadow looked lovely, the nature growing so vibrantly in the warm light. She had chosen a small patch of lilac-like flowers to bring them, having already set down a soft white quilt for them to rest on, providing them also with a full picnic for two hungry parents, two cushions (possibly both for Aveline, depending on how she would be feeling), some light reading material for the two, and a bottle of wine, just in case. The meadow was rather quite, as it wasn't common for natives to take random picnics in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week. 

With everything all set, She set out to "capture" and bring over the couple. Convenient that they happened to live together- a new fact She kept in mind for later. She also noted their child, but now was not the time. She came up behind Roland, wherever he may be, whatever he was doing, and grabbed his shoulder. She wasn't gentle about it, and probably startled him, but within seconds a white light would take over his body, and he would be transported to the Meadow. Quickly enough, Aveline would join him, having undergone a very similar ordeal. When their eyes would clear, She would have disappeared without saying a word, but a small note would be sitting on the picnic basket. 

It would read:

Take this time to relax; You two have been through quite a lot, and it never seems to be over. Today is your day. Spend it wisely. 

The note would not be signed, nor would they recognize the handwriting.

It had been a year since they had gone through this the first time, a lot had happened and Roland had thought about that when he had bought the rose. Even if Vanessa was now fallen, there was still a significance to this ritual that Roland would have been a fool to glaze over. So when the festival rolled around and this time he made sure to get ahead of it.

Roland had let Aveline know he'd bought the flower, while romantic gestures were wonderful and had their place, last year she'd found him shackled to chair in the castle library and neither of them were anxious to repeat the experience...not in public at least.

All of this was why it was no surprise when he suddenly found himself in the middle of a clearing with a sign telling him that this was his evening to enjoy with Aveline. Given the level of magic that had been on display he assumed Ai had grabbed him. Roland took a seat on one of the cushions, picked up a book, and waited for his wife to arrive.

"I suppose in a lot of ways it's time for our anniversary." He laughed to himself.

Aveline had left their daughter to sleep under the care of their nurse, too tired on her feet and needing to lie down. There hadn’t been a true moment of rest since… since she can’t recall when. Not in the slightest. But then she felt the tingle of something within her once more, a familiar feeling, before she sees white and feels… peace.

When Aveline opened her eyes she could see Roland seated. Confusion overtook her face for a moment as her eyes flickered from her husband, to the cushions, to the picnic, then back to him before a groan escaped her. She pressed her fingers firmly to the bridge of her nose, rubbing as she walked forward, the skirts of her dress sweeping around her legs as she walked closer to Roland. The festival. She'd entirely forgotten. 

"I'm sorry." Aveline shakes her head, lowering her hands before she sits beside him. "I- I completely- it just slipped my mind. I was going to make plans, but..." she leans forward, burying her face against his arm. "I forgot you bought the flower." she murmurs, her voice muffled by his sleeve.
