Sesuul Aggression Level: 1 - Non-Threat. When Heavens pass was first being discovered, many hundreds of years ago, the people who made the dangerous trip up the rocky mountain face that would later be carved out for a much easier climb , were somewhat bemused. Lurking in the rocks were the usual mountain-dwellers -- insects, birds and the like -- but there, skulking around everywhere, were huge raccoons, the likes of which nobody had ever seen before. They were on average five and a half feet tall, and incredibly friendly to the people who offered them fruit or bread. No one knows who came up with the idea, however, with it being impossible to get horses up and down the treacherous cliff face, someone had the bright idea to tame these raccoons to be ridable. Highly dexterous, agile and strong; Sesuul’s became perfect mounts for the dangerous mountains of Heaven Pass. Though nowadays, only farmers and travelers prefer to use Sesuuls for transportation; sense within the city their presence are not as common. Novite Aggression Level: 6 - Hostile Large arachnids that can grow up to 4 feet in lenght and 1.5 feet in height. Novite's resemble a conventional spider in structure, however, they have only one body segment, and in place of mandibles they have large mouths the width of their body full of needle-sharp pointed teeth meant for shredding viscera. They are primarily found in the Forever Forest and Manna Gorge, however, they have been known to stake claim to abandoned houses and farms. These fearsome arachnids live in large hive-like swarms and burrow underground in small tunnels, forming a network of paths to allow them to travel and hunt without fear of larger predators. Novite's are carnivorous and will strip a carcass of flesh within minutes, but are non-poisonous. The surest way to locate Novite's is by their fine, sticky webs built at ground level. These webs are nearly invisible by daylight, but by night they give off an eerie teal glow. Forever Fawn Aggression level: 0 - Non Hostile The Forever Fawn are gentle, nimble giants. They are a social, herbivorous species and prefer to travel in large numbers for safety against predators while foraging. They have no antlers and average around 6 to 7 feet in height for an adult. Most of the Forever Fawn’s coats are dark in color, with fur bearing either a sage green or oak gray mixture; their hides often are covered in moss and small leafy foliage. The Forever Fawn are skittish creatures that can move swiftly through the forest by jumping between tree trunks with long, muscular legs and slender three-toed hooves. They communicate with one another by clicks and chirps, and can signal other Forever Fawn at surprising distances. A female Forever Fawn will birth up to two calves at a time, though normally only one survives to adulthood. | Mimic Aggression Level: 9 – Hostile Mimics are solitary creatures that are thought to have been created by a bad attempt at alchemists trying to give life to an inanimate object. Overtime these creatures have evolved to be able to take the form of manmade inanimate objects. The creatures can vary in size, however they cannot make themselves smaller or larger than they actually are. They can range from the size of a small book to a house. The creatures are mainly nocturnal coming out at night or if their location is consistently dark they are active for however long they feel like it. Mimics are able to coat themselves with a sticky substance that acts as a glue; only a solvent or the mimics death can unstick an unlucky victim. Mimics usually move slowly however when going for a kill they will slam into their victim with great force often dazing the victim. A mimic can come in all different forms; however if one listens closely they will be able to hear a subtle heartbeat. Raiul Aggression Level: 10 - Avoid! Lions are not the only indigenous big cat that roams the outer lands of Nova. To the un-initiated, Raiul do rather resemble lions... at least from a safe distance. Their bodies are lion-shaped, and covered in thin, rubbery, pale golden-yellow scales that lay flat along their bodies like a reptiles. Their faces are narrow and catty, with massive brown eyes, somewhat resembling those of a bush baby. Their claws are jet black and wicked sharp, as are their two rows of fangs. On the back of a Raiul is a set of medium size, bat-like wings; they do look rather ridiculous, and are incapable of flight, so it's easy to laugh, but these wings are actually covered in minute holes -- one flap releases a neurotoxin that it uses to stun its prey. Magic does not work on them and poison has no effect either. Only the Raiul are capable of surviving any dosage of this neurotoxin, however, antidotes do exist but are hard to come by. Raiul Hunters spend their entire lives collecting the neurotoxin from the strange beasts. The Raiul's poison can be bought in the market along with the antidote, however, both are extremely hard to come across -- people willing to collect the neurotoxin are rather low, for obvious reasons. ). Elemental Fox Aggression Level: 3 - Neutral The Elemental Fox is a strikingly beautiful creature, each one’s coat and tail patterned according to the Element they were born with. There are at least five known species of the Elemental Fox: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Metal. Elemental Foxes are normally non-aggressive and tend to run at the sight of danger. They are proficient at concealing themselves and will often play tricks on travelers that are not careful or lost. Elemental foxes are strongly protective of their young until they reach one year in age, at which time they will drive off their young, causing them to seek their own den. Elemental Foxes can manipulate their chosen element to a minor extent, but can easily become Manna Corrupted if they overexert themselves. Urulóki Aggression Level: 7 - Hostile Urulóki are a species of canines that inhabit the more volcanic regions of Heavens pass. They are larger than common wolves, however smaller then dire wolves and gorge hounds. There smaller size allows them to fit through smaller crevices in their rocky terrain. There paws are larger than average, allowing them to distribute their weight more evenly on unstable surfaces. Thick shaggy fire proof fur cover their entire bodies. Their fur thickens around its neck creating a mane of fur, the shaggy fur also extends further on its legs and feet. Providing protection from the extreme heat that they call home. Its ears much like their cousin the gorge hounds are large for their head; however they lack the size of a gorge hound and the elongated snout. But perhaps the most distinguishable feature of a Urulóki would be the two massive draconic horns that rest on top of their head. The Urulóki are primarily scavengers, however they have been known to occasionally group into a small pack to take down large prey when food is scarce. The Urulóki are believed to have bred with the occasional elemental fox; due to the fact of having the ability to breathe fire. This is a form of manna manipulation and used primarily as a defense. Too many uses can lead to manna corruption. |
