Plotter section could use more plots!

So, hi, it's just me. A new person. I have this Feng fellow who could use some folks to hang out with. Feng is uh, a diva who is also rather headstrong and opinionated, not giving a rat's ass about most rules the society forces on him. But he is a social person and it's not hard to get him involved with other characters - they might not get along, but there would certainly be something happening! He's also an alchemy teacher at the Arch of Ages and has been that for some years now, not native to the land but native to the world we currently play in. Other Arch of Ages faculty members or students he should definitely meet eventually!

He spends most of his time in the school or the nearby village, but on his days off he likes going off somewhere with more civilization like say, Nova. Right now he's not really much for combat-oriented threads or something that deals with the wilderness and exploration - unless he is forced out of his element for a reason, that could be a plot!

Show me your characters! Feng's been around, so he should have some connections already - not every meeting has to be the first meeting, right? There could be friends and rivals or something. He could have caused a scene somewhere in the past too, not very unlike him. Like him or don't like him, up to you! When he was younger, Feng actually was an adventurer, so there's also a chance of someone knowing him from those days, if they can still recognize him. Probably looks very different now, but the attitude... Well, it's the same. He did do a lot of adventuring outside Teair though, so if your characters haven't been overseas, less chances of that.

Hey Feng welcome to the site we are glad to have you. I play 5 characters so I'll have to break it down a bit for this.

Nyx: She now teaches at the Arch of Ages as a mage instructor. Mostly the beginner mages and teaches a combat class that it open for non-mages as well. Chances are they would have ran into each other around the Arch a few times. She is kind of overly bubbly so I can see them getting along for the most part.

Yuki: She is a mage student at the Arch but she also of noble blood. I can see her disliking Feng a bit since he would remind her of old self when she was still a guy or who knows maybe they would get along I guess it would depend on how they first meeting went. But he would know of Yuki but since they in different arts they might not have met formally.

Amiee: She is native to the continent of Teair. She been alive for a long time so who knows maybe they ran into each other in the past. She also lives and works at the Gallows Inn and Tarven so if Feng goes there for drink chances are they would have ran into each other.

Sai: She is an assassin and proud of it. She been across the sea for jobs but given they different paths chances of them meeting each other before now are low. She does now run one of the orphanage in Nova.

Cam: He is my newest character. He did come from across the sea he is also a slave to a royal family. Though he been given a bit more freedom since coming to Nova. He would have been to the Arch of Ages as a researcher since he is helping Adrain the headmaster out with project. Cam is overly shy so he wouldn't have gone out of his way to say hi to Feng. He more or less stays close to the castle and visits the springs and the meadow if they were to meet at some point.

Hello! Bit of a busy day for me, so I do apologize for taking a while to get back to you!

The ones with connections to the Arch of Ages are definitely the easiest ones to plot with! Maybe we can get something for Amiee and Sai later (there even is potential of Sai and Feng having met like way back in the day, though she is a bit on the young side and also apparently Fated?) if we feel like it an concentrate on the other three?

Nyx is probably the easiest. They're both teachers, bound to run into each other often enough! I was thinking that maybe Feng could actually be awake early enough to join her for lunch and he'll take it from there. He'd probably have a lot of questions as she's Fated?

Yuki and Feng might be able to play off each other well, though figuring out why they would be doing that is a bit more difficult, if she's not taking his class.

Cam though, if he comes around, Feng might be appointed as his guide and uh, overall helper maybe? Dunno what kind of things he and Adrain are up to, but Cam and Feng would be pretty hilarious together too if they just lived a day together or something. Guess Feng could also have been showing Yuki around at some point, but I don't think she's exactly new anymore, so yeah...

Any of those sound like anything?

It's okay I was at work before then had to do some posting. 

Sai and Feng might have met in the passing but chances are he wouldn't remember her since she is a shape shifter. 

I can see Feng and Nyx meeting and talk though she wouldn't have mentioned the fact that she is fated. More so she has been claiming she is from another country if anyone was to ask since most fated are still looked down upon in Nova.

Oh I feel like Nyx will be put into an interesting situation then! Feng would probably still be asking things, and as he has actually traveled around... Well, if her story doesn't really match anything, he'd start to question it. And he's probably the last person you want figuring out something like that, so good luck to Nyx!

Would you be fine with this as a thread idea? I think it could be funny and maybe even tense. Some staff faculty lounge for the place? I suggested lunch as a reason for Nyx to be there, but it could be something else. Or we can just do something else.

Sure! Would you like to start it or would you like me to start it? Nyx would probably already be in doing whatever, if you're fine with me assuming that she's already there if it's my starter post. You can also set the scene too if you want, the calm before the storm that is Feng.

Up to you! I'm perfectly fine with either of us starting, it works well no matter what.

You can start it since I just left the house and wouldn't be home for 3 hours and most of my creative juices for Nyx comes after working.

Um... One thing though I would love if you can do when you make the thread. Can you date it so I know when it takes place since I have to factor in what information Nyx might know if it was before or after any of her current threads. If it's before anything from the 1st - 12th of Sato works. If it's after then the 17th of Sato and forward.

Sure, I too have to leave for some time, but hopefully I'll get something out soon enough.

The date doesn't matter to me as much and it doesn't really affect my side of the things, so I'll let you date it whatever you want in your timeline! Anything and everything works for me.

Okay that works. I'll date it in my post of anything so to fits in the time line. And the date wouldn't affect anything on your end it's just a thing so I know what my character was doing when and don't have overlapping dates that makes no sense.

The setting maybe outside the Arch at a small table somewhere eating lunch since Nyx wouldn't want to be stuck inside on a nice day.

Alright, so we've already briefly spoken about Karrhig and Feng having some sort of past encounter. Now that Karrhig is approved we can hammer out the exact details. For the last three decades or so Kar has been absent from the kingdom of Nova and has spent much of his time roaming the other lands of Teair on a journey of self-discovery. It's fairly likely that the two, both being adventurers of a sort, had joined the same group for at least a short span of time. Considering that Karrhig is sixteen years Feng's senior there's definitely an age gap between the two but I feel like that creates the perfect setting for Karrhig to fill the role of a protector of sorts and certainly a voice of reason. The exact level of his protectiveness is entirely negotiable and I think very dependent upon what age the two actually met up at and Feng's willingness to have a big, burly Ork loom behind him. 

If Karrhig was overbearing that could be an excellent plot point between the two that saw some resolution in their past.

As for the exact quest the two went on, I'm completely open for anything. Kar's not picky when it comes to paying work. Considering his fallback profession as a highwayman it's not unlikely that he's done some dubious things. This also gives us the opportunity to sucker more people into the defunct group of adventurers. 

A completely different possibility is that the two of them just so happened to run into each other at an pub and struck up a friendship over a few drinks. 


Honestly, I'm pretty game for anything.

Oh yeah I was waiting for when you were ready for some threads!

I'm thinking that they have such a great opportunity to have known each other in the past that I can't help but want to take that route with the two. I think Feng really started his adventuring career in his 20s, so that was probably when he met Karrhig. They probably didn't stick as a group like, all the time, but I feel like due to coincidence alone they tended to do jobs together and maybe there were some longer ADVENTURES with a bigger group somewhere there too. I'm pretty flexible with things so if you throw me a reference to some old job or person the two knew in-game in a thread, I'll take it and follow up! They probably mostly did small jobs but maybe they also did some bigger things now and then.

As for Feng, well, he's still pretty similar to what he was. Always a diva, though back then he probably didn't really have the money to dress or look all that nice. Or eat that well. Not to mention travel makes staying clean kind of difficult. But I'm sure he was always willing to fight back and have an attitude like a modern day rebel teenager, which might have gotten on Karrhig's nerves. They might not have been getting along all that good early on even if Karrhig was just trying to be protective, because of course this independent Feng who needs no guardian would take offense to that. One good thing though, at least Feng wasn't racist!

It probably took them time to actually learn to appreciate each other? Like that even though Feng acts like a child, it doesn't mean he isn't capable and even though Karrhig ruins his fun, he does it because he knows when that fun will backfire. It's a lot of backstory to just skip over, but hey... Maybe we can also do stories set in the past sometimes, hah. But maybe we should start from them already having come to appreciate each others' quirks in the present day?

They probably lost contact for some years after they split up and went to do other things but bumped to each other back in Nova or something, as that's where Feng tends to go when he has free time. Their first thread together could either be that first meeting or maybe they have a thing where they grab some drinks together, so they could talk over some drinks or something? We could even talk about the past, ooo.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully, that means Feng has already become acquainted with the hyper-emotional side of Karrhig where he goes from being the stereotypical "I love you man," guy to the fella who throws people through walls for breathing wrong. I'm sure we can always do a good bit of historical rp to flesh out their backstory as well. I left Karrhig's past pretty vague for the sole reason of incorporating other player's characters. 

I believe the most likely case for them meeting is simply them running into each other. Karrhig isn't the best at utilizing communication so chances are he wasn't able to drop off a letter to the Courier's Guild or anything like that. He's just recently come aground back in Nova within the last week so it's pretty likely that they can have a chance encounter. Knowing Kar it'll probably happen in one of the taverns or inns. If Feng has really changed that drastically in the past decade or so it might be easier for him to recognize Kar seeing as he's essentially in his early twenties for an Ork and hasn't changed much. Besides, I doubt there are many one-eyed Orks waltzing about Nova speaking flawless common. He's a bit hard to miss.

Then again, so is Feng now. 

I could start a thread sometime tomorrow because, unfortunately, it's time for me to head off to bed before I go to work.

Haa, he knows not to give Mr. Ork here too much booze, that's for sure. I hope Karrhig is ready to get his cheeks squished. Feng never was afraid to get close and physical to someone much bigger than himself...

Feng probably doesn't want to go in any cheap inns or taverns, so those probably aren't the best places to meet. Feng can definitely take Karrhig out for a drink, but he's choosing where, hah. Maybe they could meet on the streets somewhere? And even if Karrhig can't recognize Feng by his looks, I'm sure he recognizes him the moment he opens his mouth. Hard to forget, that one. Even if you want to.
