Aireth Handler
"I swear I didn't know! I mean, I did, but that's a very big axe you have."
Nickname: Age: 26 Gender: Male Race: Human Origin: Native Role: Baron |
Character Traits
Hair Color/Style: Black mid-length, often brushed back in a messy ponytail
Eye color: Gray
Skin Color: Caucasian
Body Type: Aireth stands around 5'9 and weights in the range of 160. He's fairly thin, but he's decently built.
Clothing - Detailed Appearance: He's got a roguishly handsome face and only seen in the most elegant of clothes. Fancy shirts with the puffy frills on the neck, tunics and overcoats, vests, high knee boots, belts and buckles of all sizes. Typically, he wears an overcoat or vest that usually has strips of leather sewn to the inside to act as a rudimentary armor without making it appear that he's armored. Nice, thick pants and knee high boots. A thick belt is around his waist that supports the dagger on one side, the rapier on the other, and a few pouches. He always has a pair of thick gloves that he'll stuff between his waist and his belt. The gloves have some small metal plates on the back to protect his hand from glancing blows off of his weapon.
Personality: Aireth is a studious man. Loud and boastful, he rarely misses an opportunity to have eyes on him, however he's enough of a socialite that he knows when to be a wallflower or a diplomat.
He's quite jealous of those with magical abilities. Since his father's death, he has become quite interested in gathering magical items. He's rather fond of women and beer, but is aware enough to know when he's had enough. Like when he's passing out or the husband just kicked the door in.
Likes: Knowledge of the Arcane, Honorable combat, Women, Alcohols of whatever type. Magical items.
Dislikes: Husbands. Being unable to further his "NOBLE QUEST" for magical artifacts.

Combat & Inventory
Ability One: Ambidextrous - Self Explanatory. He can use both hands equally well
Ability Two: Fleet Footed - Aireth has exceptional Balance and is a trained acrobat.
Combat:
Skilled at Archery, primarily in target shooting/competitions.
Exceptional Duelist with most light weapons. Difficult to hit when given ample space to evade or parry.
He is decent at unarmed combat, he's been in a number of brawls
Inventory Bag:
Blur-
1/day per person
When activated, for 5-10 seconds the weapon and area immediately surrounding it appears blurry to one selected individual. To all other onlookers it appears unchanged.
Comprehend Written Language-
Passive, constant.
While in possession of the weapon, Aireth is able to understand written languages, however he can not write or speak in languages he doesn't know himself.
Mystical Weapon-
The inherent magical abilities of the weapon give it the ability to harm creatures that may otherwise be resistant to mundane weapons, such as ghosts.
Blink-
Curse. While not in possession and not in direct line of sight, the weapon will disappear and reappear within arms reach of Aireth. If discussed ahead of time and given a specific time table, the weapon may allow itself to be left alone.
Suggestion-
Curse. Situational.
Only during times it is willingly being left alone, it surrounds itself with an aura that convinces onlookers to look elsewhere. For all intents and purposes the weapon makes itself unappealing. However this only applies to the casual observer. If someone is determined enough they can easily overcome this effect.
Suggestion2.0-
"Curse." Passive.
Due to the weapons nature, it has weakened the effects of fear on its owner. Aireth is less likely to be disturbed or become fearful of gruesome creatures, or locations, than most other people

Personality: While incapable of verbal speech, the sword is able to communicate with the owner telepathically. The weapon itself doesn't tell him to do these things, but occasionally Aireth will have a sudden and strong urge or do something that may be uncharacteristic of him.
Appearance: with a blade length of 47 inches, and a width of a bit over an inch which is a bit uncharacteristic of a rapier, it is quite durable. It has a cutting edge and a fairly plain basket guard. Presumably due to its magic, the weapon always looks to be well maintained and blood never seems to stick.
- Arming sword - Straight, double edged blade with a length of 25 inches, a bit shorter than most arming swords. It's often deployed in his off hand depending on the situation. It has a cruciform hand guard.
- Dagger - blade length of about 7 inches, it's a single edge, slightly curved weapon with a demascus style metal and a decorative handle, befitting his noble lineage.

Biography
History:
Born to an affluent family who presently owns several businesses including a brewery and a blacksmith, Aireth was raised without the need for extensive labor on his part. While others were working their fields, Aireth was learning to wield a weapon. While others were trading for food, he was studying. He took a shine to studying the Arcane. As he grew older, his father became more and more distant, often times leaving for days or weeks on end only to come back with some small, weird item or another.
Just recently, his father's crazy reached a climax, when Aireth stumbled across his father doing some sort of ritual on himself. Aireth was able to stop the ritual, but his father soon died for unknown reasons. As a result, Aireth came into possession of his fathers favored sword, and decided he would adventure out in search of fabled magical items.
Family:
Father - Alexandar Handler - Deceased
Mother - Merideth Handler - Alive
Relatives - Anne Marie Brightwood, Xavier Brightwood - Both Alive
Children - Who knows how many. None that he knows of at least. But there's probably a few out there.
Relationship: Single
Extra: he may or may not be haunted or hunted by his father. I can also neither confirm nor deny at this point in time that he will or will not see things from time to time.
Additionally his mother continues to run the family business of getting rich because she owns the businesses. So he gets whatever funds he needs through her. The businesses/lands owned are scattered through the city of Nova and a few plots of farmland
