I'm sure they won't miss it. The door to the tavern swung open as the half-demon stepped in. She felt the breeze behind her ruffle her ebony hair as it flipped past her bare shoulder. She sighed lightly as she pushed the locks back in place and let the door shut behind her. It had been a long time since she'd been...Home? she thought. It wasn't really home, though was it? It was simply the city she'd been dropped off in as a baby. It was where she stayed until she reached a point that the first of a long list of orphanage no longer wanted her. She didn't know whether or not to blame them, though. She tried her hardest not to. After all, whatever it is her heritage was, she was longer lived than humans that's for sure. But deep down, she still resented them for what they put her through. Sure she was a handful, but what child wasn't?
She made her way into the tavern toward the bar and slid into her new seat. She watched as the bartender came over to take her order and decided on something just strong enough to get her buzzed but nothing so strong that she couldn't keep her wits about her. She smiled at the bartender and paid for her drink before spinning her stool around and paying attention to the room, her drink in hand.
She sipped at her drink as she focused on listening to the pair of girls to her right, hoping to pick up a tidbit of gossip. As she listened to the two girls titter over the males in the room, she scanned the others. She knew some of the patrons would be easy marks. Those who were too drunk to notice her hand slipping into their purses. But she'd still have to be nimble about it so other prying eyes didn't spot her slipping a coin or two from other purses to her own.

Selkiris sighed. He had done so much the past week, he needed a break. He plopped himself down at a nearby table, quickly unsheathing his blade to lighten his load. He sat it down on the table and barely even payed it anymore attention as he pulled out his tome and began to read from it. He wasn't very worried about losing his blade, sure it was given to him directly from his master but the swords had some....safety measures, to it to prevent theft. "Now.....where did I leave off? Oh here we are." Selkiris muttered to himself as he began to read. Selkiris was extremely concentrated on the reading, although the tome's seemingly ineligible glyphs were incomprehensible to most Selkiris was capable of understanding them. It did take a moment to translate it though as many of the glyphs looked extremely similar. "Blood of a hydra........Ancient's name why are all of these rituals requiring such dangerous materials? I guess I'm going to have to save that for later....." Selkiris said, with a hint of annoyance in his tone. Currently he was trying to figure out what else he needed to do for his master. The tome seemed to have many of the answers but he was beginning to learn sometimes he was just going to have to wing it.

I'm sure they won't miss it. The dim light of the tavern made Pandora's lavender skin seem even darker than it already was. That was one of the perks of having one of the rarer hues of skin. Especially for what she enjoyed doing. She fingered the lip of her glass as she scanned the room, licking her navy painted lips and she spotted the male who had removed his sword and left it on the table.
The sword itself looked as if it could fetch a decent price, but she didn't dare try to go for it in such a public place. That would have been better left for a room looting. Then again, she was certain a sword like that was probably known in the area. And even if it wasn't, she decided it wasn't worth the risk. She didn't want to be run out of town so soon after arriving. Or worse...
Instead, she took notice of the male who had spotted her. As he neared her, she gave him a coy smile and took a sip of her drink, flirting with her eyes. Those were the easiest targets. The ones who were already coming to her. The ones who had their eyes...elsewhere.
As he began to speak, she could tell that he'd already had a few drinks. Granted, he wasn't stumbling drunk, but he was drunk enough to be slurring and slow-witted. She chuckled coquettishly, feigning a blush at his compliment and laid a hand lightly on his shoulder, freeing up her other hand by placing her drink on the bar. She bit her lip, still playing shy as she leaned close to whisper something in his ear. As she did, her free hand - the one closest to the bar - reached forward to his purse.
She was smooth as silk as her fingers daintily dipped into his purse and pulled out three coins - one between each finger. She quickly and quietly palmed them and pulled back as he whispered something vulgar into her own ear and though for some reason her heart raced at the thought, she lifted the hand that was on his shoulder and slapped him across the face, quickly depositing the coins she'd lifted from him into her own purse.
Admonished, the man stared at her blankly, clearly shocked by her abrupt change in behavior, "That, Sir, is not something to be whispering into a strange woman's ear!" She furrowed her brow at him and watched him blink a couple of times as his friends at the corner table erupted in laughter, one of whom had gotten up to come retrieve his berated companion.

Selkiris noticed a strange figure pass his eyes as he read. He looked up for a moment to see what it was and he certainly wasn't disappointing. It seemed to be a woman, obviously of demonic descent. His lips cracked a smile, likely a bastard. As he watched her he began to notice her strange behavior. He saw her reach for a man's purse and deposit the coins inside into her own. He couldn't help but chuckle. A demonic thief. Oh this day couldn't have gotten any better. Selkiris got up and moved to approach the woman, not even noticing the man or his associates. "Well what do we have here? Abyss take me, a thieving demon. No surprise there, but I wonder why such a.....charming ladylike yourself is dealing with such bumbling idiots. Sure they are easy pickings but there is no challenge." Selkiris was no thief but he understood their language. After all his was the bottom of the underbelly of society. His dark cloak kept his face covered from view but his hands where very distinctive. They were long and bony, with the left hand being wrapped in cloth for some reason.
