ker-ching (Or whatever a grapplehook sounds like when thrown and pulled tight)
With both hands on the rope, Ruby gives a few strong tugs downwards to ensure the rope was secured. Planting a foot on the wall, Ruby began her ascent quickly and quietly under the cover of darkness. 2 floors up, Ruby climbed onto the balcony, coiling rope and collapsing the hook before she stowed them on the side of her satchel. Slipping the spear over her head and removing the strip of twine she had attached to either end for easy transportation. She slipped across the flagstone floor to the large wooden doors. Placing the spear on the ground next to her, speartip facing the door, she stuck her eye to the lock and peered through. She didn't see anything, and the other end sounded fairly quiet. One hand withdrew a pair of small metal tools and she quickly set to work, popping the simple lock within a few moments with a faint click. Tools returned, she retrieved her spear and slowly cracked the door, moving so she could peer through the small crack.
All's quiet as Ruby stepped into the room, her child-like size made it so much easier for her to move around without crouching down like an uncomfortable git who's 2 feet to tall to hide behind the couch. She made her way through a series of rooms and even popped the safe open with little difficulty. She pulled the door to the rather large safe open, complete with grunting because the door was as big as she was. In place of the assumed pile of gold coins she was there for, the interior was flushed with bright white light, much like when it's midnight and you open the door to an empty fridge in a dark kitchen. However unlike the static fridge light, this one pulsed and undulated, spilling out of the safe and engulfing her, unharmed by the spear-thrust Ruby instinctively did.
When she opened her eyes again, she was surrounded by white stone floors, a few stairs going down in 4 directions from her, and some water between the stairs. All around her, embedded in what seems like every surface she can see, are gem stones of various sizes. Ruby surveyed the room she found herself in and took note of the doorways and other such tactical information. Like where she could hide. Surprisingly enough, there wasn't many places for her to hide in a well lit, open room with little cover/concealment.

Nyx was back in Bane once again since it was the Sun Harvest season school was out for the most part other than those that wished to stay and either advance they magical education or didn’t have a home to return to for the season. She didn’t have any classes to teach minus a few self-defense classes but other than that she been in the library most of the time looking for information on portals still she found nothing so how she was back at Bane heading toward the Fate alter to check on the crystal to see if she could find any crack of some kind or anything that might give her a lead on what was causing the recent sent of Fated to come into this world injured.
She was currently in her fated clothes the black halter top and pink mini skirt, the skirt had gotten a bit shorter since she had grown a bit taller since in Nova so now when she walked the skirt ride up a bit and reveal her under garments. Since she had notice that she wore the cloak that also had the symbol on it from the Arch of Ages showing that she was an instructor there. In her hands was her staff, she was currently using the staff as walking stick. As soon as she reached the alter she notice two things a female was there and second it looked like she was trying to hide.
“Hello there. I mean you no harm but I am here to help you.” She said in a soft voice while also speaking slowly knowing that it took some time for the magic that brought them over adjusted and allowed her to understand her a lot better.

Ruby stood where she appeared, her arms down at her side and the spear gripped loosely in her hand as the woman spoke from near the main entrance. She shrugged her child-sized shoulders slightly. "Good. I'd like to say the same thing, but I'm not so sure yet. What sort of person puts a teleporting trap in their house?" That's all this is right? Some alternate dimension that is suppose to be some sort of hell for thieves? Is she going to turn out to be a nun or something? Hit me with her ruler? No. Nun's don't wear such short skirts and they don't put their giant sized tits on display like that. Ruby thought to herself for a few more moments, and looked down at her clothing.
Her sportsbra™ covered by a stiff leather vest (with Stealthchain™ technology. AKA A thin, tight link layer of chainmain sewn between the inner and outer layer of leather) and her tight pants with an abundance of hiding pockets. Her pants of holding. Ruby smirked with that thought. Let's not forget her satchel of a few goodies, and her dagger that was currently not in this woman's line of sight, having been mounted horizontally against the small of her back. It's a fairly small dagger even for a halfling. The blade is only about 2 or 3 inches long, and the overall length was quite small due to her tiny hands.
She looked back up to the woman when she realized she was just standing there, looking down with a stupid smile on her face. The smile has since left her face and she began trying to process the situation again. "So where am I?"

“No plus my dear wouldn’t be able to harm me. After all any powers, you might have had in your world has been reduce.” She said as she lend against her staff smiling. To be honest Nyx didn’t know when she became this way around new fated it was fun sometimes to mess with them when they have an attuite problem. “Now first of all to answer your question this is not a teleported trap but you were teleported in a sense, second I don’t believe who’s ever house you might have been breaking into in your world is aware of this. You were brought here from the God Fate for some strange reason.” Her smile never fading as she continued to watch the girl for any reactions that might prove to be unflavorful. “Now welcome to your new home and it might be heaven or hell depending on how you decide to live your life in this world of Teair.”

"That obvious, eh?" She states. "Would it make it sound any better that I was attempting to steal some documents linking a major public figure to a ring of child slavers?" She relaxed herself a bit, using her spear like a cane, of sorts, with both hands wrapped around the shaft to support her weight.
"Strange reason is right." she muttered. What kind of god just takes her from her super important job that she may or may not be lying about. "If this is my new home, where am I suppose to stay? Do we all just get picked from our families and dropped here to start making a living like a savage by digging in the dirt for our coin from some pompous Baron?"
This, believe it or not, was *not* the strangest thing to happen to her in her life. She's actually died once. She was dead for about a week before her buddies were able to bring her back through the magics of some holyman. She also spent some time paralyzed because of an extremely poor decision to fist-fight a Lich. Honestly this wasn't even her first change of planes of existence. Granted this time there was no way back.

“Nope it doesn’t make it any better.” She said since to her stealing not matter what was not justified since it all came down to the fact that you were still invading someone’s personal space. It was wrong to drive into someone’s life that was so personal that it only felt right if you invited that person instead of them finding out when you were not ready to let them know.
Nyx did her best not to laugh at the idea of digging in the dirt to make her living. Even when she first fated over she never thought about digging in the dirt and be a savage. “Well if you want to make your living that way all power to you, but you do have options depending on your skills to make a life in this world. Who knows maybe someone would hire you was a guard so that you get paid to protect some pompous Baron.” She said throwing the woman’s own words back at her for added effect. “Now if you are done we can head over to the tavern and get some food and I’ll show you how to leave this place.”

Ruby shrugged. Being hired as a guard for some prick wouldn't be too bad a job. She wouldn't be any good as an actual guard. That doesn't mean she couldn't be hired to test security resources. Additionally, she could steal from them and claim they need more security measures, landing her additional pay on top of what she just stole.
"I could use my skills to help secure those rich people's property against lesser skilled thieves. Could probably get pretty good pay doing that." She thought outloud. "Honestly as long as I'm getting coin, I'll be happy. And sure. I'm somewhat hungry so i could eat." She hadn't eaten for a few hours, so getting something to eat wasn't the worst idea. She wasn't exactly thrilled for this giant ladyperson to be the one to do it, but it's not like she had a choice in who she ate with.

Nyx saw that she seems to be thinking about her options even if had only about the money though she did raise an eyebrow at the when she mentions that she wouldn’t mind getting a job to protect someone’s property. From what she knew not too many nobles stayed in they home town most would be at the castle because they part of the court and then go between the two when court is on vacation or have family business to attend to. Then again, it’s not her job or place to let the little thief know that she would most likely be guarding the body of a noble and not they home if she got a job as a guard.
“Well follow me.” Turning on her heel as she picked up her start and left the carven that held the fating crystal. Turning her head, she took a look at the crystal wondering if maybe Kail and her were imagining things or maybe it was just a small glitch in the crystal then again the woman didn’t seem like the type that should be brought over. Turning her eyes from the crystal as she continued and left out into the bright sun light well as sun light as it can get given they were still in a cave. Passing the farmlands, she made her way to the tavern, waving at the people she passed that decided to settle in Bane.
Once at the tavern she looked around and spotting a table close to the window yet far enough from the door. Taking a seat, she looked at the browned hair female across from her. “Order whatever you want I’ll pay for it but you have to eat it all.” She said with a small smile knowing that she was challenging the woman to try and make her broke but she also knew that a person not matter they race could only eat so much.

I have to eat all of it? she thought, a smile crossing her face. This woman has clearly never seen a Halfling eat then. She also took note that it wasn't specified that it had to be eaten in one sitting. "You clearly have no idea how much I can eat." She wasn't going to actually take the woman up on her challenge. She wasn't too hungry still because she had recently ate her fill. Or at least what you would call her fill for someone who's entire race eats 7 meals a day.
She ordered a very reasonable 3 eggs, half a chicken, 2 sausages, and a pint. It was a tad bigger than her usual meals when she was actually having a true halfling meal, but she was challenged and felt the need to prove to herself even though she wasn't actually accepting the challenge.
"So, Where am i, in this world. What should I know about it? Do the Dwarves and elves hate each other in this world? Are Half-Orks shunned or accepted? Is there any tension between rulers?" She knew she needed to familiarize herself with this world so she could begin to blend in before she set out. She assumed that being different was generally frowned upon. It was the safest assumption, really. She didn't want to be responsible for the destruction of such a nice, gem filled location if she let it's existence slip to the wrong people.

“You clearly you no idea how much I have seen people eat.” Nyx said as she listened to the woman order food. For her own self, she ordered a simple omelette with 2 sausages and a piece of bread with butter on it. As for her drink, she ordered a simple cup of milk tea.
“Well you are in a place call Bane right now. The closet settlement is either the Kingdom of Nova or the Arch of Ages where I live. Dwarves and elves huh?” Rubbing her chin, a bit wondering how to answer the question about dwarves and elves she have not met any native to Nova but she one elf and she seemed fine for the most part. “Can’t say much about the dwarves and elves situation but the few elves I seen they don’t have any issues with normal people. As for Half-Orks nave not seem any since I came here I am sure they are some just have not met any. As for half-breeds, most people seem to be accepting of them.”
The waitress soon arrived with they food, thanking the female that brought they food, taking out the correct amount of coins she placed it on the table along with a bit extra as a tip. Taking a sip of her tea as she thought about what issue with rulers so far from what she heard and seen they wasn’t much tension between the rulers. “No tension between the rules but they seem to be tension between the natives and us fated. So, when you leave here try not to mention that you are not from this world.” Taking a small bite of her bread wondering what she could tell the newly fated. “Hm... well there is also some tension between magic users and non-magic users.”
