Roland sat in the enchanting facilities at the Arch, he'd actually been working on this project since the king had given him his ordeal, and Roland had done most of the work in his house so he could help Aveline and to make sure nothing happened to her or Jeon. However, this part of the enchantment was a bit more...precise. Roland had analysed the scale of the dragon he had found and in addition to the dozen or so volume on known dragon and draconic variants, he'd found himself only more sure that it was going to require something with a bit more power than just his staff if he wanted to fight one of the beasts.
The project in question sat in the middle of a four tiered ritual spell circle. The first layer was a basic geometric circle with the magical precepts passed down by his mother written in the Kray language. Within that was a layer of sigels and spell markings to focus the mana and help him direct the flow into the object. The third layer was a set of magical amplification runes he had started using when he had realized that his normal methods were insufficient. The final and innermost layer resembled a drawn tapestry that depicted a spear piercing the heart of a dragon. He had used the descriptions of the dragon he'd been able to find, though they had been fewer and less descriptive than he had hoped.
Finally in the center of this ritual was a spear, the haft was white oak the wood his staff was made out of and a sacred wood for the followers of Caster. The head forged with the metal shaping magic he'd learned from Ilta, and two mana crystals were embedded into the head to make it resistant to flame and to enhance its durability (I will purchase and use the mana crystals when I put the spear request up in Balam's shop).
Finally, Roland stood at the edge of the circle eyes a burning silver as he forged the oath he'd sworn to hunt the dragon and entwined it with the mana he was channeling into the spear.
