Post by Mysteria on Apr 24, 2017 21:18:20 GMT
The sun was barely up by the time Mysteria left her home, leaving the twins behind to guard the house. The pathway leading to the settlement Gallows Bane was light up by stones that gave off light during the night hours. Their shine barely visible at first until finally the sun started to rise more. The rays of light reflecting into the cavern and onto Gallows Bane with a beautiful soft golden glow. . The trek through the settlement was rather uneventful. Her path stopping in front of Arcane Cross. However, from what she could see, the lights were not on in the building. So Mysteria decided not to knock. Instead, she pulled out a letter, hidden under her dark brown cloak.
Mysteria took the folded parchment, bent down and slipped the paper under the heavy framed door. When the paper was not visible on her end, she picked herself up, turned and continued her journey onto the next set of tasks she had in mind for the day. If Killian wished to join, he could find the letter she had left behind for him.
By the time Mysteria left Gallows Bane the sun was up and beaming overhead. Her ambition to reach her destination not stopping her, even when she entered into the Forever Forest. Only leaving a subtle scent trail of honey and gooseberry; Along with a few torn branches as hints on the trail she took. The trail would break however a hour and a half in the forest, the trail stopping at a large clearing of grass and fern. The cleared area was beautiful. The entire place surrounded by thick forever wood trees; which made it a perfect training ground or place to practice.
With a heavy sigh, Mysteria unhooked the clasp on her cloak. Letting the heavy fabric fall to the earth. Her attire different from the norm as she stood within the center of the grove in boiled leather pants, matching dark brown corset top and left matching leather arm guard. Her feet clothed in dark brown boots that the lip was folded over at her knees. While her right arm sported the trask arm Killian had built for her a year ago. She kept herself relaxed the entire time, enjoying the midday sun that now hung above; While a breeze tickled through and waved her braided, but now dyed a light chest nut color brown hue as a disguise . The purple hair masked for now, while she felt Breton's angry gaze upon her. With her paranoia of growing wanted posters and now talk of people seeking out the dragon that destroyed the Moon temple; Mysteria's worries only increased. Which meant to survive she would need to become stronger to outlast the one who sought after her..
Mysteria knew she would need to increase her stamina on maintaining focus. She knew she would need to meditate for the time being while things were silent. Her eyes closed the moment she began to hum and slowly increase her intake of manna within her channels; Her mind going into a mediated state as she stood in a offensive stance within the center of the grove.
(( The letter left behind for @runicblade )) Dear Killian, My apprentice, you have grown since we last spoke. I wish to test those skills of yours and perhaps refine what I can. I request that you bring only one weapon with you. Choose wisely and follow the scent of Honeysuckle and Gooseberry. You’ll know when you found the place. ,Mysteria

Kail got the letter and read it, and he thought silently about this and got his travel pack. He then put most of his weapons in his safe room. This was a gamble but he even placed the knife of fate in there in a chest. Had it securely locked and put it away safely. The blond put on a almost black outfit including his shadow mist cloak. Since he was allowed one weapon, he took his lightning blade Mirage with him. His Panzer Breaker gauntlets, and one survival knife. He wanted to bring one ranged weapon but that would be against the rules. So he would have to focus on his footwork. After he got what he needed, Kail set off to find Mysteria his Mistress. It would take him a bit as he used a creature summon spell for a horse. To travel as quickly as he could to the forever forest. Once there Kail continued on foot, letting the scent lead him. After some time, he found Mysteria "I do appologize Mistress, I had impromptu trip to the Arch of Ages......I only brought one weapon with me. I do have one knife but its only for utility" he said and saw that she was in some kind of metatative trance. Kail was being careful as anything could happen these days.
Although his adventures at the Arch had been rather good since he gained a new spell from that adventure. But would need more work on that ability. Perhaps while here, he could perfect the spell he wanted to make.

Mysteria’s eyes shot open the moment she felt Killian’s presence enter the grove. When he began to speak, she kept her stance and slowly began to tilt her head to glance over her shoulder to look at him. The pupils like a serpent's, slit and making the color in her irises pop in a bright violet-teal hue. Black Horns began to sprout forth from her skull and curl in a S shape manner through her light brown hair. “ Killian Lancaster, At this moment I want you to push aside your affiliation towards me. I want you to treat me as a foe; for the means of bettering yourself. After all I did agree to train you….” Mysteria spoke seriously, lifting her hand and suddenly spouting the words.
“ 1. Alaineda ulsa nusa du nu essunfrairh nirr wairr.“
Her voice seemed to hum as she spoke, the words carrying magic within them as the ground beneath Killians’ feet began to vibrate. Then suddenly two half rotted hands shot out from the soil; their bony fingers ripe with flesh tried to grab at Killian’s legs. While the rest of what looked to be two undead humans tried to crawl out from their earthly prison.
(( spell words in kray language: 1. Animate once more to do accomplish my will. ))

Kail throws off his travel pack a bit back as he saw Mysteria start to transform. And it seemed that she wanted to throw down with him to train him a lot more. "Very well then" he said and then drew his lightning blade Mirage. As soon as he did though, his Mistress called out in a odd language and something below him desided to rise up from the dead. He did a quick backstep to avoid from being grabbed by the undead corpses. His sword sparked to life as the blade started wine and crackle as if it were a living lightning bolt. Seeing that he would need to act quickly before would overweilm him if this was a constant summon. "Buster Mode" he said and the blade split apart and went all the was to the ends of the crossguard. And then the space between sparked and crackled again and this time. The blade was made out of pure lightning as the plasma like blade let off some heat. The blade ended up to be the length of a large buster sword. Kail's eyes did the best to be hardend. He then darted forward swiftly and swung his blade with no effort with two hands. The energy blade slicing through the two undead setting them ablaze from the heat of the blade. As well as slice through a large rock causing some of it to melt into a molten like state. It seemed that Kail was not playing around himself on this matter either.
As he continued his swift charge, since he was clearly going in with the intent to deal a massive amount of harm to his Mistress. Since she wanted him to be serious and treat her as the enemy. Kail was going to go all in on this and truely give her a fight to remember.

Arthas had originally be in the forest to find a good place to try something stupid but had kind of lost his way so was just wandering around a little bit. It wasn't like he was trying to seek out anyone or anything at this point, hell he didn't really even have a direction picked out until he felt the ground start to vibrate. Curiosity getting the better of him he switched his vision over to his Aura Filter finding the area to be rather saturated with manna though it seemed to be of two different beings.
Following this manna to find where it was more dense he eventually stumbled upon the clearing, stumbled being figurative as he was supplying his stealth rune with manna to hide his presence for now. He wasn't sure who was giving off this kind of manna or what their intentions were so there was a need to remain hidden as long as possible before making his presence known. This actually reminded him of his life before this world where he would be off on his own investigating, tracking, or preparing to eliminate some target. He found a rather interesting sight once he cleared some of the trees and got a decent line of sight. Mysteria the woman who had helped him decide where to go first and shared a meal with him was facing off against Kail who had initially greeted him and provided him with some of the things he would need to acclimate himself to this world. Should either of the look his way they would easily spot his glowing gold irises in the shadows just beyond the edge of the clearing.

The night was silent, besides the whistle of the wind as it rushed through the trees. A man lay silently on the floor of the forest, his hands covering his eyes. The sun rose gently in the distance, and as time passed the night faded into the morning. The birds began to chirp, which alerted the man laying down. His hands, which were gripped so tightly to his eyes that they left indents, like when one sleeps on their arms, leaving marks of whatever they were laying on. He cautiously brought himself to look outside.
Xander was terrified, losing all sense of time, direction, or rational thought in that darkness. The night only reminded him of the years he spent underground, and whenever he was enveloped in it, it was as if a minute could be day, a day, a year. Losing that meaning of time flustered him in many ways.
He slowly stood up, looking around the area. Xander wasn't quite sure how he got here, he knew he was travelling, and had hoped to make it to his destination before sunset, but time didn't seem to be on his side. When the night began to fall, he lost his sense of direction, and when his last source of light expired he lost all hope.
He had walked for a few hours before noticing something.
Xander's eyes caught a path of sorts, broken twigs. Nothing he really noticed, but his eyes simply caught the small markers, without thinking, he headed in the direction as if it was natural.
Startled when he heard voices, Xander quickly darted to the tree-lines.
"Lurk" He called, as his self vanished in the shadows.
Xander's spell wasn't a complete invisibility spell, it had limitations, like needing shadows. So, he stuck to the shadows of the tree-line, avoiding the clearing with the individuals that looked as if they were going to fight.
He stopped at the closest shadow to the two. He may be unseen, but his scent was still quite easily spotted. A thick earthy smell.
Xander watched the two, one a familiar woman, the other seemed young, as far as Xander could tell.
If Xander had a true living heart, it would have stopped. The woman cast a resurrection spell, and all Xander's eyes could see was his own body coming out of the ground. Watching the young man slice through the two like it was nothing, and continue onward to the sorceress, was almost inspirational, if it wasn't so terrifying.
He quickly hopped out of the shadows, not realizing this was practice. He raised his hand, as if he was about to cast a large spell. Xander wasn't in practice, in fact, he wouldn't stand a chance. They wouldn't know that right? Perhaps if it was in his day, he could rip the man apart with the own ground he was walking on. However, magic seemed much more difficult now.
"Stop!" Xander yelled towards the blonde male, his hand raised, as if to cast a high-level spell. To any experienced spell user, there would be no way to tell that his gesture was fake. He after all used to be quite the accomplished mage. Xander needed practice, to be trained, not that these two knew any of that, so if anything he could save the woman from harm, as long as this bluff worked.

Mysteria watched as Killian took out the two undead with ease. A small smile crossing her lips as she examined the weapon he had used. So this is the ingenuity of fated? Fascinating to say the least and the weapon was something she hadn’t seen before. So Mysteria quickly decided to move on to different tactic. One more suited now that she could gage an estimate of the damage this ‘strange’ weapon could possess if she were to get hit. Mysteria took note of his footwork and the moment his eyes harden towards her, Her own smile seem to grow. “ That's it! Channel your anger, but be mindful when you charge and strike. You could harm more than just your foe. “ Mysteria spoke, as if giving advice before watching him close the gap between them. Once he swung with his strange buster sword; Mysteria quickly raised her hand and spoke out the word. “ 1. Barlock! “ which from her fingers a orange light appeared. Suddenly a orange ‘semi-transparent’ barrier appeared, however it only covered the area in which he struck at. The semi-transparent mass vibrated, causing a humming sound when sparks began to fly around the barrier.
“ You should study when you ~ “ Mysteria paused, cut short in mid sentence when she felt another presence approach. But by then she could feel her barrier begin to weaken under killians buster sword; With a tisk, Mysteria quickly pushed herself back using killian’s strength as a boost, jumping back a few feet to give a bit of distance from the blade’s swing radius.
Mysteria broke her attention away from Killian when she saw a male come running out of the tree line and yell out ‘Stop!’. Her eyes wide as she saw him approach with his hand raised as if about to cast a spell of his own. The hell was he thinking? Let alone, this was not the presence she had originally sensed a moment ago. So perhaps, he was not alone? Mysteria thought to herself while remaining on guard. Soon taking notice of the pair of yellow eyes staring out in shadow behind the man who had now entered the clearing.
“ Speak your business out here…You interrupting a sparing match… If you have business with me, then speak up... The both of you.”
Mysteria spoke up, her voice carrying around the clearing as she looked at Xander, not fully recognizing him at first, but his presence seemed to bring back memories that were deeply buried in the back of her mind. He seemed too familiar and yet, she now had to be more on guard with the thought of bounty hunters and mercenaries out to claim the reward on her capture. So perhaps these two were out here to claim a easy reward? Or at least that is the first assumption Msyteria had when she looked at the newcomers, while also being mindful of Killian who she was training with.
“ Are you here to collect the reward? “ She asked in a serious tone; while the spell she had casted before had begun to activate its secondary wave. This time the ground would rumble just lightly where Arthas, Xander and Killian stood. The ground rumbled a second time before breaking open; this time four zombies emerging from their shallow graves. One beside Arthas, the came out of the forest and stumbled their way towards Xander, while a final zombie emerged behind killian to try and take a bite out of his heel.
“If so…. Zombies for everyone.”
(( translation: 1. Barrier! ))

Kail knew that Mysteria would have a way to block his attack, although was mildly surprised by the barrier she put up. It reminded him of a particular thing from an anime he watched. But he needed to not be distracted "One could use anger but I prefer the emotion of resolve. Although a bit from colloum A and B work for me. Trust me I know the range of my weapon" he said and saw the sparks fly off of the barrier that she had up. The blond would have followed up by trying a slash with his gauntlet and maybe break through the barrier. But it seemed that his mistress had used the force of the blow to get some distance between them. He was going to move in again until another voice spoke out. Wanting them to stop and it looked like the man was going to cast a spell!. Kail knew that Mysteria could handle herself so he took this moment to put a bit of distance as well. Since he was not sure if the spell would have had a radious blast or something else. The blond gave a quick look at the guy that was running at them and then some glowing gold eyes.
Then with the mention of the Bounty Hunter comment from Mysteria kind of gave him a bit more urgency about what to do next. As Kail was planning to do his next move, he heard his Mistress summoning more friends to play with. The blond had to chuckle and side stepped when he heard the rumbling. Again narrowly getting another chunk taken out of him and used his massive energy sword and stabbed the undead creatures quickly as he could. The weapon going through the creatures, like a hot knife through butter. Kail was not amused with there incoming audiance. "I would sudjest you do state your reasons or your zombie dinner.....NOW KNEEL BEFORE MY FORCE OF WILL" he called out and a shimmering wave would be blasting out. Kail's eyes would glow violet and he looked pissed. There would be a crushing weight down on everyone it would be extremely hard to move in general. As anything they would do would be weighed down by this gravitational effect. While Kail himself was moving rather freely, but was keeping a bit hard consentration with this spell. This was more evident that while weilding his lightning blade as he was now weilding it with one hand then two.
As his left hand was glowing the same violet as his eyes "Make your words quick and I will not hesatate to kill you if the zombies don't" he said again and was looking at the direction of Arthas. Or his cloaked location and was walking rather quickly. Rather than rushing in like he did with Mysteria previously, as he was now dealing with several people at once.

Arthas was found out and wasn't surprised that it was Mysteria who identified him lurking in the shadows even though he really wasn't hiding himself all that well. It was the male that came running in and shouting stop that had him sighing as he saw there was no manna gathering at his hand what so ever. He was about to start moving forward when a massive amount of pressure landed on him which actually annoyed him a little bit. So it was Kail's doing and that was going to have to be corrected in a moment. He found that if he focused his will on doing what he wanted that the weight basically lifted off of him, over a century of fighting other mages had trained his mind quite well.
Before he could start moving again a zombie started to crawl up out of the ground next to him. Instead of drawing his sword he just activated his strength rune and crushed it's head entirely under the heel of his boot. Walking forward he moved as if there was no weight placed on him by Kails spell and thumped Xander on the head, "Grandstanding gets you killed dipshit." With that done he moved to be clearly visible and just waved at Myst before looking at Kail, "Would you give it a rest already? Seriously that one isn't a threat and if I was looking to ambush either of you I would have put effort into hiding. Bounty or not I have no interest in trying to capture Mysteria as she is one of the people who helped me most when I first arrived here." The last part of that speech was meant as a jab at Kail for the rather lackluster greeting he had gotten from him.
He was keeping an eye on the zombies that were moving towards him and Xander now but wasn't moving to intercept them yet as he was giving Myst time to redirect them or stop them entirely. The staff in his hand had a dull glowing pulse happening that traveled from the top and bottom of the staff to where his hand gripped it as he was using the manna bleed off from their spells to feed his runes instead of his own manna for right now.

Xander found himself confused as his appearance quickly made him the enemy of the other mage. He quickly gathered that this was some sort of training. He dropped his hand sullenly for a moment, a low sigh escaping from his mouth. How dumb am I? He thought to himself. He had seriously mistaken the situation here, and he seemed to have escalated things slightly.
Grandstanding? Xander rubbed his eyes, noticing the 'company' that had arisen nearby, summoned by the mysterious magician against the curious swordsman. Xander knew he wasn't combat ready at all, was fundamentally under powered compared to these individuals in his current state.
Zombies, zombies, and more zombies. His mind couldn't help but compare himself to those slaves. Xander at least had free will right? He wasn't summoned by a caster for any specific purpose as far as he knew.
"Well I see that I've misread the situation," Xander spoke aloud, with an apologetic tone, and a half smile.
Xander felt slightly intimidated by these people, but any thought of fear was dismissed, not really knowing if his own body could die out. It seemed logical to assume so, if he was vaporized, burnt to a crisp, and so on, however Xander didn't know if his body was different with swords, and arrows, like those other undead creatures. Would his body survive a stab? Or was he still made of flesh and blood?
To Xander death seemed like an oasis at times, his entire life just felt like someone had pulled him away from what was supposed to happen, and now he was stuck in some sort of limbo.
Xander wanted this answered, and wanted to let these zombies get to him, but his body moved anyways. He put his hands into his pockets, and back pedaled at a speed barely above that of the zombies. He didn't fight back, because the only other spell he had in his arsenal wasn't strong enough to be fatal. Lacking in other combat skills, he had no choice. It only made letting them get to his person more tempting.
