Melda had let herself into the ARC chamber not too long after classes had ended for the day. She had wanted to work on her own technique, practicing more aggressive spells for in case she would ever need to fight again some day. She had participated in the Siege months before, and though she held her ground she was far from powerful. Melda was good at putting on a face, scare tactics were also an asset- though nothing like the ones Severine used to pull. She stayed at it until the sun had gone down, and when she finally released herself from her dream state, she lay down on the pillows- the same ones Adrain had let her use the first time she'd used the ARC, and stared up at the ceiling above her for a few moments, just thinking to herself. This was a new era to her life; one where she had become the Kings Adviser, one where she was using magic far more openly than before; teaching magic at a school! One where she'd broken her rule not once, but twice when it came to letting herself feel something towards a man; though the second time around was really impacting her at that moment. He made her smile. He'd made her drop the ice act, while still respecting her for having it. He intrigued her, showed her a new side of things. He made her feel pretty, which was something she hadn't thought she needed; not that any woman ever needs it... but it's nice. She blinked at the ceiling, once... twice... drifting off to sleep without even noticing, lost in her thoughts of him.
Without intending to, Melda set off the ARC once more, but was unaware this time around. She was in a field of lavender, a large oval in size with lush green trees surrounding it. If you listened closely, there was the sound of a creek or a river near by. She was dressed as she would have when she was far younger; before the heart break and bitterness. It was a smokey blue gray in colour, the sleeves handing over the sides of her shoulders, neck line in a sweetheart shape. The skirt was flowey and breezy, ending at her ankles, showing off her bare feet. The grass was cool in her fingers, and the light breeze swept her hair around her, which was down and curled softly. Young Melda was beautiful; though her body hadn't aged near at all since then, her personality had and it made her look older than she was in truth. Within the Elven age, Melda was barely a middle aged woman. She stood in the middle of the field, face raised up to the sun with a beautiful smile on her face.

Adrain was making his way to the ARC himself for training. Thoughts that had obsessively filled his mind for the past weeks and days regarding the Deyu. He had attempted to make training simulations as close to what he knew as possible, but it was at best a placebo to prepare against such a thing. As he entered the chamber, his brow rose seeing Melda resting upon the pillows. What was she doing here so late. He couldn't start the simulation with Melda around since that would rise questions, but he was sure she had a reason to be here.
Adrain takes a seat and enters a trance, shifting his consciousness to the dream. He stands manifesting in the woodline not too far from Melda, looking around. A creek was nearby based on sound. It reminded him of the elven lands: maybe Melda wanted to take the easy way of revisiting them for now since she didn't care for a teleportation ring. He looks around, seeing Melda laying on the grass. Maybe he should just disengage until Melda was done.

Melda felt something shift in her dream, and she turned her head lazily to face her guest. Dressed as she was, Melda felt younger and more light; as though she were reliving her younger years, before she really had a care in the world. Laying eyes on Adrain, a grin spread across her lips and she began to sprint towards him, flinging her arms around his shoulders in a large embrace. After 5 seconds or so, she pulled back, the beaming grin still on her face.
I didn't expect to see you here! She giggled lightly, her face free of concern, worry or any weight at all really.

Adrain gets a good look at Melda at this point, seeing that she was looking a bit more vibrant and energetic. She bounded toward him, and before he knew it, he was tackled almost by Melda, staggering back and finding a very affectionate elf locking him in for a few seconds. A bead of sweat went down his head, not exactly expecting this reaction from her.
"Melda...what's this about?" he says, a bit of redness rising in his face from the closeness that was put before him now.

Melda laughed. He was so cute sometimes. How should I know? Just enjoy it! She responded, not having an explanation for any of it. She was acting based purely on emotion and whims, something she only did when she dreamt. She'd learned to stop questioning it years ago. She giggled lightly again and poked his nose with the tip of her finger. You're blushing. She teased with a small smile on her face.

Adrain was stunned for a moment at Melda's carefree reaction. He became cross eyed momentarily as Melda poked his nose, a small sneeze turning out causing Adrain to have to twist his head to not sneeze in her face. He assessed what was going on right now: Melda was acting a lot more open and...affectionate. When he entered the room, Melda was laying down as if asleep, at first thinking it was just how she chose to enter, but this might be an organic dream. At this point he was a little torn on what to do.
To disengage might startle Melda or cause a mind issue, and if she did awake she would likely be embarassed at this self projection of herself's actions. So maybe he should try to follow along for a time? He was quiet looking lost in thought for just a second

Melda moved back some when he sneezed, removing her arms from around him. Taking a step or too back, she manipulated the air so that she was sitting with her feet crossed, hovering where she was. She cocked her head to the side as he never responded and blinked at him. You're so quiet! She exclaimed, waving her hand in the air so that he was hovering too.
Come on! Aren't you the one who tells me to lighten up? She laughed, bringing herself a bit higher in the air.

Melda snapped his attention back. "Oh, yes Melda, sorry just lots on my mind." he says opting for a safe and typical reply. Before he knew it, he was being floated which was disorienting: he could fly on his own accord but never had anyone cast that sort of spell on him. He looks at her with a 'really' look when she used the play on words of Lightening Up followed by a flight spell.
"Yes I suppose so, but you might float away with a strong breeze if you get too light." he says, conjuring a small zephyr to gently flow around her.

Melda tilted her head back with laughter, enjoying as she was moved around. Oh please. I doubt I'd ever float away. I'm far to grounded. She said that last bit in a deeper down, making a very serious face and placing her hands firmly on her hips; though at this point she was almost upside down in the air, so it was quite comical.
Adrain. Who am I? To you I mean? She asked innocently, not thinking twice about it; after all this question could have no consequences in her dreams.

Adrain blinked as he was asked the more serious question suddenly. He hadn't thought about it too hard: Melda was a close friend to him, someone he thought very fondly of. She was lovely and she seemed to drop a veil that everyone else saw when it was just the two of them. What answer to give...if it was too startling it might wake her and make things awkward. He remembered what he originally came here for, that if Melda were to be snuffed out by the dragon, he'd feel like he failed her.
"You're someone very important to me." he says finally. "Someone that I have been working to protect from...certain things that might happen." he says, going a bit vague, since saying big scawy dragon usually is a mood killer.

Melda broke out into a large grin. Huh. I'm someone you want to protect... The grin grew in size. I like the sound of that. Melda mused, turning away and lowering herself back onto the grass, missing the feel of it in her toes. She lowered Adrain as well, unless he would prefer to stay floating. No one ever really protects me. I've always fended for myself; at least in the last 95-100 years or so. she shrugged.
Melda had her back to him, and suddenly turned on her heal, facing him again. It was strange how realistic he was. In other dreams, he had been a bit blurry; the idea was there, but the images were always fuzzy, due to none of them being real. I'm bored. What should we do? She asked suddenly, waiting for the dream to shift. Normally they didn't stay in one spot too long; unless it was a very specific dream, and those were top secret.

"And what am I to you?" Adrain absentmindedly says, turning the question on the Dream Melda. The dialogue about having someone to protect her made the mage wonder if there was really that sense of loneliness in her heart or if it was just a dream.
As soon as Melda declared they were bored, the scene shifted to a nighttime beach. The moon hanging high overhead radiating faint light to the sands below, the calming sound of waves crashing into beach while a gentle breeze keeps the temperature of the warm night perfect. Adrain looks and blinks, not sure who did this shift.

Melda snapped her eyes to him, her mouth falling in an "O" shape. You? Well.. You're... She looked up to the sky, skin tinged slightly as she leaned her face into her shoulder, a smile slowly creeping onto her lips. You're someone who makes me laugh. Who makes me feel like I can just be me, and that is completely enough. You make me feel both beautiful and intelligent. She paused, turning her head back to him, a dazzling smile on her face. You're someone I think I might love. She said it so easily, so calmly. Though her face was pink, she acted completely normal.
Then the scene shifted, and Melda sighed softly. I love the beach at night... its so calming dont you think? She asked absently, moving to squish her feet into the tide.

A brow raised as Melda spoke her answer. A feeling of empathy washed over him, this was the core of Melda arguably, the feminine vulnerable bit. Adrain wasn't certain what he wanted to do romantically with the looming threat overhead among other things, but the empathy and perhaps a small bit of Melda's will since it was a script from her dream that he invaded had taken hold.
Under the moonlight, he closes the gap toward her, approaching the wet sand as she stopped and stood in front of her, tilting her chin up just slightly. "Just think?" he says, his eyes half shut but a faint smile. How much of this was Melda's will vs Adrain's curiosity or obligation to play along who knows.

Melda watched as he walked towards her, it felt like slow motion; no doubt an effect of her own dream-state. Her face was rosy and she glanced up at him through half closed eyes. She felt goosebumps roll down her arms as he touched her face, raising her chin. When he spoke, she felt her chest tighten as her heart jumped. She blinked once, twice, before a smile slipped on her lips. For now. She answered honestly, her voice small and shy.
