The day of Claire's execution, Tres was in the audience... watching the gore of it all. She grew queesy at the thought of how morbid she found execution. Tres didn't believe in fighting to kill, or killing in general. She would only do it in order to survive. The moment the woman was slain, Tres crossed her arms, feeling a pain in her stomach. She hadn't known Claire, but knew that she affected the lives of many - both positively and negatively. She knew now of her impact on the king if he wanted to have a part in execution, and she knew of how she took care of Core. However, she didn't have any personal experience with her - so what she did feel during her execution was on based on other people's experiences.
With a woozy feeling in her stomach, she made her way back home to her infirmary in the second district, climbed up the stairs, and boiled the kettle for some tea. As she turned around to sit at her dining room table, she saw a letter carefully folded, and sitting up neatly on the table. Tres sat down, and unfolding the letter she noticed the penmanship was fine and elegant - especially for someone who had lived the life of a commoner. The letter was written as such:
Dear Trésor,
I've writen this letter so you will not fear of my absence. I will not be returning to the house in the next few nights, so please don't stay up waiting for me.. To explain, after hearing the news of the execution; I've decided to take trip back out to the cabin in order to collect my memories and belongs. You're in my thoughts.
Core N.
Her eyes scanned the sheet quickly, and felt her eyes well up at the thought of his absence. She did not want him to be alone in this time of fragility, of emotional turmoil. The thought of being without him for so long scared her, worried her. So within an instant, she took the kettle off of the boiler, turned off her stove, and began packing for her trip. She had gotten lost in the forever forest before, spending months in there alone. This time, she didn't feel alone. She felt determined - determined to make sure he was okay. She remembered that as she was out in the forever forest, she did come across another cabin other than Aria's. So, she threw on a long sleeved forest green v-neck shirt, her dark brown cargo pants, wore her cloaking pendent and the enchanted gold band given to her by Adrain and her brown combat boots. With her she packed rations for 3 days, a bottle of water that was strapped around her waist, a compass and a basic travelers bag. In her boot she hid a dagger, and put her sword on her hilt.
When she was packed and ready to go, she locked all of her doors and windows, then left for the forever forest. Flying the trip only took her one full day to get to the cabin. She took some breaks periodically throughout the day to eat, drink, and make sure she was on the right track. Once she arrived at the cabin, the sound of the grass rustling under her feet, she called out to him. "Hello? Core?" she called out, twigs cracking underneath her feet as she landed on the ground finally. She masked her wings as soon as she set foot on the soil, continuing on foot, walking outside of the cabin.
