Character Traits
Hair Color/Style: Gunther has shoulder length white hair and a bristly white mustache. His hair is often covered by his helmet.

Clothing - Detailed Appearance: Gunther is dressed in full plate mail most of the time, which is a dark brown in color. The armor has many nicks and scratches, showing it's wear as it has saved the mercenary's life several times throughout his long career as a knight turned sellsword. This armor obscures most of his body except his face, giving him almost total and complete coverage. The shoulders of his armor are decorated with a white fur tasseled mane, and a horned helmet that gives a slightly demonic look. A leatehr belt is where he keeps things such as rations, a waterskin, and money in pouches or gourds. When not wearing armor, (which is rare given Gunther's line of work) he wears a simple green tunic and cloth pants with a leather belt. In either case, he usually carries his sword and shield with him at all times.
Personality: Gunther is known for his ruthless approach to his craft, a morally grey individual at best. He believes that the ends justify the means when it comes to completing a job. He is not foolish, however, and knows how to take appropriate risks based on the promised reward. Being as long lived as he is, the old knight turned sellsword is a shrewd and cunning man, and a natural leader of men, able to inspire men to action...or to rout if faced against his brutality. He is not a believer in concepts such as chivalry or justice, calling them "fool's errands" and chastises people who tend to hold what he believes is a naive reliance on these ideals. He values two things in life overall, wealth and power, saying that a man can get anywhere in life so long as he has both. Though he is educated and well read, he is known to speak bluntly to his employers, refusing to mince words even with nobles. He also has a code of honor, believing that once someone takes on a job, it's their duty to see the job through as best they can, so long as the employer holds up their end of the bargain. Lastly, he rarely feels the emotion fear, as he has been through much in his life, and seen a lot of battles and a lot of bloodshed.
As far as socializing goes, Gunther is amicable enough. He makes a good drinking partner, trading war stories, adventures, and dirty jokes around the hearth at the inn readily to anyone who will listen. He is also willing to pass on knowledge to the new generation, though he does so on the condition that they don't use the skills he passes on for "frivolous ideals". He is able to speak more openly to like minded people. He also keeps a lot of secrets, a trait that makes him sought after be employers that want more....questionable jobs performed in a discreet manner.

Description: Gunther is able to cast this spell with an incantation and project a dome of darkness within a thirty foot radius, casting the area in complete darkness, which no one but Gunther can see through naturally. The spell blots out all sources of natural light, including torches. This is Gunther's "assassination" tool, used to pick off a target he needs dead without being seen.
Range: Thirty foot radius from self.
Times Per Day: Once
Extra/Drawbacks: Since it casts and expands from himself within such a range, he must be fairly close to his target. Furthermore, if one is quick enough and has the capability of casting any form of magic light, it renders the spell's effects null and void. It is also not considered a high level spell and can easily be dispelled by a counter spell fairly easily. He also saps his energy when using these spells, requiring longer periods of rest then a normal person, meaning he can be out of commission for a while.
Spell/Ability Two: Nocturnal Hunter
Description: Gunther shrouds his body in dark energies, enhancing his physical capabilities, allowing him to move at an accelerated rate, appearing as a blur if motion obscured by darkness, deceiving the eyes and allowing him to strike three times in the time it would normally take him to strike once and cover double the distance, which lasts for up to three posts. This spell strictly enhances speed, and does not enhance the power of the blows.

Times Per Day: Once
Extra/Drawbacks: This spell takes a great toll on the old mercenary's body, tearing at and wearing down his body and muscles. This spell is generally used as a last resort to try and kill a opponent that would be too strong otherwise, and if it fails, he is left in a weakened state.
Dark Magic Drawback: Overuse of Dark Magic or Blutfang for Gunther generally results in a strain on his mental health, causing him to have nightmares and a lack of sleep, potentially affecting his sanity. He puts up with it, however, as a trade off for his success.

- Blutfang: A runic long sword that Gunther has been carrying for years, this enchanted blade does not seem to rust or need sharpening, and has saved Gunther's life on several occasions throughout his long career. The runes appear to be of dwarven make, and glow red. The handle also has a black cross guard. By channeling mana through the sword, Gunther can call down a bolt of red energy comprised on dark magic that extends up to thirty feet, which, upon striking the target, scorches them. This does use his own manna, so it does not have an infinite supply of casting, and at most can be done three times a day.
- Plate Armor: Kept since his days as a knight long ago, this armor has several nicks and scratches in it, but is very well maintained and has saved Gunther's life more times then he cares to count. He values it almost as much as his own life, as a suit like this is expensive and hard to come by.
- Shield: Gunther carries a shield strapped to his forearm, covering a good portion of his torso when held in a defensive stance. The shield is shaped in a "triangular" fashion, and the paint where a coat of arms would be has been scratched away.
Biography
History: Gunther Scwarz began life as member of an esteemed family of knights, and was raised in a distant kingdom, bred for success. He had the best teachers that could be afforded, and was a natural at combat, eagerly absorbing all the knowledge that was presented to him like a sponge, becoming just as well versed in the arts of reading, writing, and history. However, with that thirst for knowledge came a lust for power, and Gunther was eager to prove himself in his youth. When he country came to fight in a war with a neighboring kingdom, he was given command of a unit of knights. Though he lead his men to victory after victory, the means with which he achieved victory were consiered barbaric and uncouth, such as using poison on the enemy's water supply, putting villages to the torch, and even learning and utilizing dark magics in order to achieve victory, including commissioning his unholy sword Blutfang. Eventually, his kingdom could bear it no more, and he was stripped of his rank and title.
Though he no longer had a country to call his own, Gunther was hardly perturbed; he had the freedom to do what he wanted, and his skills were highly sought after by those who could afford them. He continued to live this way for many years, being hired for all sorts of jobs from assassination to bodyguard and enforcer work, crossing blades with knights, savages, and even other mercenaries.
