A lesson on Nobility pt 1. (Amiee/ Request)

Leon went to go pick up Amiee from her home early in the morning, Arriving in a Carriage and with a few guards to have her slowly get used to the whole situation since she would be an official noble soon. Leon believed that Amiee would need to at least understand her situation if anything. Deciding that today they would stay at the library and Leon would see how much Amiee did understand and learn.



After telling Calix and picking up Amiee he would hug her and explain how that he would have to give her various lessons on how to act like a noble and have a basic understanding of what it means to be one. Before re-entering the Carriage and they talked the way back “Hey Amiee, I hope you had a good sleep, today is going to be a fairly long day for us. Don’t worry I already spoken with your father about everything.” Once they reached the castle, Leon would accompany Amiee to the Royal Library and grabbed some basic books before opening it to Amiee “Amiee do you think you can read this?”

Amiee had been waiting for Leon she didn’t know much about what they were going to be doing that day minus him saying he is that since they now officially courting he wanted to teach her a bit on how to behave to benefit her future status. Honestly she thought that she behaved well for a commoner, her mother and papa made sure she knew the basic of reading and writing even if her handwriting wasn’t the greatest.



That say she wore a simple dress it a long dark green dress with a simple sweetheart neckline, around the waist was simple brown belt. Her hair was in it’s normal style but with white ribbons. Upon Leon arriving at the tavern she notice two things once was that he arrived in a carriage and second he had a few guards with him. Hugging him, she still looked at the carriage and the guards wondering why they couldn’t just simply walk towards the the castle.



During the tip her fingers would played with her hair, as she watched them pass by all the familiar sights she was use to seeing.



Once they made it to the library she said down and looked at the book that he placed in front of her. Picking it up she ran her fingers over the title of the book. “Simple reading and writing?” She asked not sure why he wanted to know if she could read it.

Leon had a gentle smile as Amiee mentioned it “Yes usually most nobles spend a large part of their childhood studying, fighting, and learning proper etiquette. Afterwards once it’s believed we learned enough we would then continue with whichever we wish.” Moving slightly closer to her “So I wanted to take it step by step and see how much you knew in normal studies first. I promised your father i’d do my best to teach you also.”



Afterwards a guard brought a few more books that would slowly increase in difficulty. Looking at the table Leon believed this should be enough for the day. He would signal the guard and whisper in the guard’s ear to make sure everything else that he had planned for the day was without a hitch and slid a note which had everything which was planned out to the guard. After watching the guard leave he would turn back to Amiee and open the book “From our date I know at least you know enough to get through most common educations but nobles usually learn much more, in my case I was taught on strategy as well, though i’d normally skip as i got older to focus on my bow” Leon had a small smile and scratched his head as he admitted a bit of his past to Amiee.

“Then I’m going to be spending all my free time learning proper etiquette.” Amiee said a bit sadden about the fact that she would be spending all her time learning etiquettes. The studying and fighting wasn’t too bed but the idea of etiquettes wasn’t something she could do. She wasn’t born into the life of nobility nor did she think that she would be able to learn how to a proper countess. “Promise you will be with me whole way.”



Amiee watched as more books were added, to the already existing pile. Dropping her head on the table she did not sign up for this. Look pretty sure, like Leon that was a given but all the books that she had to learn. Listening to Leon nodded her head. “So I’ll have to learn strategy. Also how are you to teach me my love if you skipped your own studies.”

Leon smiled, “you won’t spend all your time learning proper etiquette Amiee, we’ll have these lessons probably once a week or once every two weeks, if we did it every day or on all your free time you’ll probably overload and it wouldn’t stay either. And don’t worry I promise I’ll stay with you for everything I can.”

Looking at Amiee Leon let out a small chuckle “Don’t worry Amiee we won’t go through all of these today. These are the books you should at least be able to read within a month or two. Each book increases in difficulty slightly. And sure i skipped my studies but only after i at least understood the bare minimum for being a noble. Though i’d prefer if you learned more than me, I wouldn’t mind if you stopped afterwards.”

As leon waited for Amiee to finish reading the book he smiled “Don’t worry Amiee it's only a couple hours every time. I’m not that mean I’d only bring my beloved to the castle for her to start her studies” Leon leaned in and gently placed a kiss on her cheek. “Afterwards we’ll have a meal from the kitchen, and if you want either walk around the gardens, or we can retire to my chambers for a small time until it’s time for you to head home.”

Amiee smiled hearing that she wouldn’t be spending all her free time learning proper etiquette. At least she still has her free time to herself most of the time to dance and just relax from all the stress of work and learning how to be a proper noble.



Taking down one of the books she looked at the title it was one about different strategies one can use on the battlefield along with formations. Flipping open to a random page minus the picture under was a large body of text that spoke of the usage of the formation. How to arranging your soldiers and when it would be best used. Closing the book she rested her head on the table already getting a headache from the all the information. “Do I really have to do this?” Her voice muffled by the wood.



Hearing that after the studying they would be having a meal from the kitchen she perked up bit.A blush rose to her cheeks at the mention of his chambers. “Um… your chambers if that’s okay. I kinda want to see how you live.”

Leon let out a slight chuckle as he heard Amiee complain “Yes you do if we are to wed, I promised your father I’d give you a proper education or find someone who could at the least. Though I think this is enough for today. We’re only here today to see how much you could actually understand i’ll actually teach you a shortened version of it all next time” Leon closed the book and smiled “For now lets head to my Chambers, a servant will bring us our meal to the chambers soon.” Leon smiled and helped Amiee up before slowly leading her to his chambers.

“I do wish to see how well you’ll do on proper etiquette and dancing though Amiee, I’m sure those two would probably be the simplest for you to get the hang of.” Leon said as they made the way to his chambers.

Looking up at Leon hearing that that were done for the day she closed the book and placed it ontop of the pile happy to be done with it for the day. Standing up placing her hand in Leon’s as they fingers laced together. A small blush on her cheeks when she finally realized that they were going to be in his room, alone with no guards to keep an eye on them. Amiee looked at him from the corner of her eye under her laces wondering if he would try and make her do those type of things. Quickly pushing the thought away knowing that Leon wasn’t that type of man.



“Well if you want we could dance a bit after we eat.”

Once they were in the room Leon showed Amiee the place “Well this is where i been residing since i arrived in Nova.” Leon moved Amiee towards the bed and kissed her on the cheek. “If you're tired you can rest for a bit Amiee, It’ll probably be a few more minutes until the food is brought over here and sure after the food and a short break we can try to dance a bit.” As Leon said that he looked at Amiee before laying down flat on his bed for now. “Oh sorry umm if the bed isn’t comfortable I could move the table and chair closer if you wanted Amiee.” Leon said as he quickly lifted himself back up and waited for her response.

Amiee looked around the room, it was bigger than most of the rooms at the inn put together. Doing her best not to wander around too much she crossed the room standing at the doors that led out to a balcony, from there she could see the castle grounds and some guards patrolling the area. The view was different than anything she ever saw but even so it made her think that maybe it was all a dream.



Looking over at Leon on the bed she giggled a bit. Walking over she laid down on the bed, her arms spread out it was the softest thing that she ever laid on. Closing her eyes she could almost fall asleep right then and there. “It’s soft.” It came out almost purr-like as she opened her eyes turning to look at Leon.

Leon smiled when he heard Amiee say the bed was soft. “I’m glad you think that, though if you wanted to wander the chambers you can Amiee, it is a fairly large place compared to regular rooms in Nova.” Leon got up from the bed and moved a small table and a chair so its arm’s reach from the bed. When he finished there was a knock on the door. Walking towards the door and opening it was a servant with a tray of food. Once he took the tray he would move to the table and place it down. Another servant behind the first one would then place a jug of water on the side near a counter.

The tray was filled with fruits, sliced meat, wine, bread, cheese, and a roasted chicken. He would sit on the chair and look at Amiee “Food is here my love, hope you like it” Leon smiled as he took a plate and put it on Amiee’s side of the table along with utensils.

Amiee curled up on the bed it was the softest thing she ever laid on, she didn’t notice at first when Leon moved a small table and chair closer to the bed. Looking up hearing the knock on the door, she quickly adjusted how she was on the bed so that if the person came in she was presentable at least. She watched as the servants came in, with a tray and a jug filled with water she assumed.



Once the servants left the room she moved closer to the table looking at the food that was on the table. Just looking at it reminded her that she was hungry but the aroma of the roasted chicken was heavenly. Taking a seat across from Leon, she placed some of the fruits on her plate, “Leon the food is fine. I’m just glad I got to spend some time with you.”

“So am I, We haven’t really spent too much time together lately. Hopefully we’ll be able to spend some more time once all the commotions slow down in the area. I’m also glad you enjoy the food, After we eat a bit we can relax here and dance a bit if you wish Amiee, it’s not too late right now.” Leon looked towards the window and saw that there was still a fair amount of light showing from the outside.

After helping put bits of food on her plate Leon looked at her for a few seconds he enjoyed looking at his beloved and being able to spend time like this. “Was there anything in particular you wanted to see or do at the Castle today Amiee? If it’s something we can’t do today we should be able to do it the next time I bring you here again.”

“Well you have been busy since the blossom’s festival and papa kept me busy with work.” Picking up a piece of bread and carefully placing a slice of cheese on it, she took a small bite. It was simple but still heavenly. “You know love.” Amiee’s cheeks lit up a bit, she was still getting used the the whole idea of calling someone by a term of endearment. “You haven’t told me much about your family and I want to get to know you more.” And she did also want to know a bit more about what she was getting herself into, based on the few books she kind of guessed that Leon’s family was almost military styled but she did also want to know a bit about his family member’s personality. “Uh… do you have any brothers or sisters?”

Leon listened to Amiee “Yeah hopefully you have more free time soon though” After Amiee took a bite and asked Leon he scratched his head “Thats true, though we never really had too much time to talk about it. Well Palico is more of a military place so my family earned our rank through battle and combat, being able to fight in any way was extremely valued and most kids were taught at a young age to fight. That is especially true in the case of my household.” Leon spoke a bit about his family’s upbringing before speaking about his siblings “well I have two, My elder brother Kaiser, and younger sister Kristen. Being the middle child i’m not expected to take over as head of the household though I don’t mind at all, it allows me to be able to do what I want most of the time”
