Nyx was currently in her room at the Arch of Ages, the door was left slightly open as she allowed the scent of food to waft through the hallway. She hummed as she moved around the kitchen, that day was was in her fated clothes since honestly minus a few people she didn’t think anyone would be stopping by and questioning her state of dress. She was wearing her pink mini skirt with her black halter top of course she did made sure she had her lab coat over top. Her hair was up in a messy braid.



As she moved around the kitchen thankful for Adrain for allowing her to fix it up a tiny bit so it was more something she was used to from her own time. On the flat counter with four sections formed out were a few fire gems along with some sticks for kindling. She had a bowl of rice that she had cooked earlier that morning and set aside. Quickly dicing the venison she throw it into into one of the pans on the ‘stove’ as she touched the fire gem and channeling her mana though she she smiled as it lit up.



While that was cooking she would check on in between prepping the rest of her ingredient, her humming soon turned into singing as she continued her little dance around the kitchen lost in her own world.

As she was singing she grabbed two eggs from the basket and placed them on the counter next to the cutting board. Doing a little spin as she went to one of the taller cardboards to try and grab the kettle, a bit off balance as she stretched as far as she could to try and reach it.

Arthas like many times before slipped into Nyx's room silently to steal some of the food she had in there since he really didn't like to cook. More honestly he couldn't cook more than very basic survival foods for when you are out on a prolonged mission. Nyx didn't seem to mind it too much then again he wasn't sure she always voiced her displeasure with someone especially if she had to work with them. That particular part of their relationship would be changing soon enough here though as he was going to be heading off to the city to see if he couldn't get set up as the head of the mage guard to clean up the mess that it was currently.

As he came he he heard her humming and slipped into a chair at her table, "What's on the menu today Nyx?" He asked her and was half hoping to see her jump or at the very least be startled by the sudden appearance of his voice.

Nyx jumped a almost losing her balance at the sounds of the voice, grabbing onto the counter she turned to see Arthas sitting at the table. Honestly she swore that, that man just love to freak her out and pop up randomly when she is cooking. Taking a moment she compose herself before answering him. “I’m making venison fried rice, well as best can I can anyway.” She said as she turned back toward the cardboard, this time summoning her wings to flutter a bit off the ground to grab the kettle.



“Seriously can’t you knock like a normal person. Also how long have you been here.” Not even bothering to look at him she filed the kettle with some water placing it on the element. Touching the fire gem as she channeled her mana though it. Waiting for the water to boil she grabbed a wooden spoon moving the meat in the pan ensuring that she didn’t burn it. “Also who said that you are getting food from me today.”

Arthas chuckled a little as she caught herself to keep from falling from him startling her. Her food was always far better than anything he could cook and well she usually gave in and fed him when he would show up. Leaning back in the chair, "If I didn't startle you now and again you wouldn't be so good at detecting me when I'm lurking around near you now would you? Also that sounds delicious."

Taking a moment to let her settle back down he reached into his bag and pulled out two books one looked really old but well maintained. His original Grimoire was the older looking one the new and rather pristine looking one was a transcribed copy of it with some alterations to the runes to make them function properly with the manna of this world. "I'm going to be leaving the Arch, my training methods are a bit too brutal for combat courses here and there is a mess in the capital that I am certain I can help fix. While I had intended to leave a letter for the few of you I've been social with I had a favor to ask of you. I've hidden books around the arch for Aqua to find and decipher in stages. This is an updated copy of my grimoire which I've given a copy to Adrain as well for his own use and for the use of the school. This one is intended for Aqua, the last book in the series. She won't get clues to where it is or who has it because I want you to decide when to give it to her, when you think she is ready to have access to it."

Nyx was only half listening when he started that him startling her was helping her know when he was lurking around. Not that she would ever admit it but thanks to him showing up randomly at times she has gotten better at detecting him but not only him but other people as well. Seeing that she had a bit of time before the meat was full cut though and as the old saying when a watched pot never boils she she place the spoon on the edge of the pan before joining Arthas at the table.



Hearing that he was going to leave the Arch was surprising, she had expecting him to maybe stay on for a full year if anything. Though it was appealing that he was leaving it means she would have one less person to cook for since he wouldn’t have time to drop by and steal food without notice of some kind. Looking at the two books she smiled a bit as she listened to his explanation even as he was leaving the arch he was still trying to be a teacher. “I guess you are leaving for Nova, and with the magic permits you are joining the mage guards. Though I don’t think your students would miss you too much.” She said giggling a bit knowing that it was true. “Have you told Adrain that you are leaving yet. Also how do you know I wouldn’t just keep the book and never give it Aqua given the current situation with her and her world.” Nyx’s eyes darken a bit, as she thought about Aqua the girl that reminded her of her sister.

"Yes I'm pretty sure most of them will be fine with me leaving and no I've not told him just yet I will be doing that next." He was at least being honest with her about what he was doing and didn't just disappear on her and the others at the school. He slid the newer book over to her, "You need to forgive yourself in regards to Aqua. I don't blame you for being yourself and for being a good person. I don't even see a need for you to be so upset about it as you had no idea of knowing what was or wasn't going to happen regarding Aqua."

"I know you won't use my book yourself as the magic isn't compatible with you. Were there questions you had for me Nyx?" his voice held his sincerity as he spoke to her he really didn't blame her or condemn her choice to bring Aqua to the Arch. He would have brought the girl eventually himself if he had been the one to meet her when she arrived from her world.

“It’s easy for you to say to forgive myself regarding Aqua.” Taking a deep breath seeing that there was no point trying to argue it, since she would feel guilty as long as she lived. “Plus I should have known… I should've catch the glimpse and saw the outfit. No I decided to ignore my abilities and not use them.” Looking up at Arthas, “You know I can see future…” Thinking of it she wondered why she didn’t allow herself to catch that glimpse and see Aqua’s future when she met her, it all came down to the situation at the time and she didn’t see a need to look into Aqua’s future since the girl had seem so sweet and innocent.



“That is true runes sadly don’t for me. Curse my family magic line.” Nyx said laughing a bit at hself, since it was true. Given her magic type runes might kill her if she tried since there was notice to channel the magic though truly. Were there any question she wanted to ask him, there was so many from if he was leaving because of Aqua? Would he ever return to the Arch to visit? So many questions but only one that wasn’t of importance left her lips. “Do you need me to check up on you once you leave and make sure you are eating properly?”

Arthas shook his head at her need to take on all the blame for everything regarding Aqua, "Seeing the future is about as accurate as tossing a stick in the air when lost and going in the direction it points when it lands. Anything you saw about her could change drastically just for you having seen it in the first place. Even gods tend to not mess with looking into the future as time tends to not be predictable in what path it takes."

He actually chuckled a little bit when she asked about his eating habits and if she was going to have to come to the city to cook for him, "I'll eat well enough, not like I can't cook after over seventeen decades I just don't have the patience to actually cook as it usually meant I had to deal with scavengers and predators back where I came from. Then again you could always come to Nova as my cook....get you an apron and one of those odd looking hats to wear." He knew there had to be other questions she had for him and would let her work them out on her own time for right now. He was sure her food stores would last much longer with him not stealing them from her while she was out of her rooms. In all honesty he Had actually procured food from her rooms while she was in them a few times over the last couple of months.

A small smile graced her features as he listened to him try to cheer her up, she was glad for the minor distracted of the kettle whistling. Quickly getting up she took it off the heat placing it on the back burner, quickly checking the meat seeing that it was coming along nicely she got two cups and placed a cheesecloth that had peppermint tea leaves in it and tied to a string. It wasn’t ideal but was the only way she could make tea on a quick notice, pouring the water into the cups she placed one before Arthas and kept the other closer to her as she started the preparations for the second part of the meal.



Quickly she added the few vegetables she had to the pot allowing the natural juices of the meat to simmer a bit. “Well I might take you up on that offer during the down times. Now what odd hats are you talking about I am sure it is only odd to you.” The spoon moved idly around the pan as she allowed her mind to wander a bit trying to come to terms with the other questions she wanted asked while also thinking of how much money she was going to save not having to restock every week.



Coming back to reality upon hearing the light popping sounds of the food she quickly cracked the eggs scrambling them into the mixture. “Would you come visit?”

Chuckling again he watches her go back to the food that had been simmering in the pans on her makeshift stove, "A lot of things are odd to me around here." He took a sip of the tea she had provided him and started to dip the bag in and out of the hot water to better blend the flavors of the tea. "When or if I have time I can then again with what job I'm going to apply for I may end up here on business from time to time anyway."

Nyx saw that the food was almost done took the container that had the precooked rice and added it to the meat and veggie mixture. “To those like us many things are odd but sadly we learn to adapt or other say we dress odd.” Sighing a bit knowing that only in some settings that she could dress of her style without anyone judging too much like here in her own bedroom. “If you don’t mind me asking what job were you thinking to apply for? Also food is almost done.”
