It was mid-afternoon, and Melda had been with Aqua for just under an hour. She had her training to dodge icicles being thrown at her, as well as trying to shoot them back. It was something Melda had been trained to do when she was at least 5 years younger than Aqua was now, so by this point Melda's speed was incomparable. She had changed out of her regular teaching attire, and into a plain pair of black pants and a black long sleeved shirt- both of which clung to her skin for better mobility. Her silver hair was pulled back into a tight braided bun at the nape of her neck, her elven ears sticking out from her head.
She had set up ice pillars and bumps to make obstacles and ledges for them both to jump around on. It was from one of these ledges that Melda was standing on before she backflipped off, shooting another barrage of icicles towards Aqua. When she landed, she rolled and ducked behind another pillar. Work on your balance! She called out, over the sound of Aqua's humming. They would need to work on that later- being able to use the magic without singing - but for now, this would have to do.
Melda knew Adrain would be observing their training at some point that day, but she was unsure as to when he would make his appearance. She stood behind the pillar she had chosen, before grabbing the top of it with her hands and hoisting herself up, finding Aqua's hiding spot from above and shooting a warning shot. Just because you can't see me doesn't mean I can't see you! Let's go! She scolded lightly, jumping from one pillar to another.

Aqua was wearing her pendant along with an outfit similar to Melda's. she wore a blue and white sleeveless dress with a combat skirt so that she could remain mobile and boy was she glad she chose to wear this cause suddenly several icicles were being thrown at her. she managed to duck behind a pillar of ice to gain some cover. Aqua had to think of something fast or else this training was going to end soon and she hadn't even gotten close to Melda yet. "Alright time to get serious.." As the ice queen sent another barrage of icicles towards aqua she began to hum to make the icicles miss her position and crash around her. As Melda shouted over aqua's singing the magic canceled out and aqua needed to move out of the way. She summoned her wings and flew up to the top of the pillar to give aqua the superior positioning to land a hit on Melda. As Melda shot her warning shot at aqua she quickly ducked so that it would miss and watched Melda jump from pillar to pillar telling her to hurry up. She was beginning to get annoyed, It was then that aqua decided if water magic was not going to work she would have to rely on her light magic. "Speed of light.." she whispered to herself, as aqua's body began to shine, she shot like a bullet jumping quickly from pillar to pillar in a zig zag pattern to try and stay out of melda's field of vision. She then held out her hand and used her bangle. "water!" she shouted sending one blast of water at Melda. If aqua missed she would retreat and hide behind one of the ledges and wait for the moment to strike. Aqua's dress

Adrain had made his way to a training room, partially by request of Melda, partially by schedule, and partially by having to watch Aqua to monitor how she was doing for more than one reason. He had quietly made his way to the room while she and Aqua were exchanging spell blows. Watching Melda, he rose a brow impressed. After their first night from becoming a couple, Melda seemed to have discomfort moving the next day. While the elasticity of youth and lack of boundaries of the dream world had no consequences, the very long night in the real world left the elven woman a little...exhausted and sore for the first round. Something that would probably grow easier in time. He wondered if she were on some kind of pain potion or spell.
Knowing Melda, since nobody knew of their change in status as of yet she would probably want to keep things quiet today for purposes here. He had to resist his temptation to look openly affectionate to his new beau, and kept a neutral expression as he watched the pair go at it. He held a small arcane barrier close to him, just in case some spells made it his way.

Melda glanced up as Aqua began using her wings. Despite the mildly unfair advantage that gave her, Melda didn't complain. It made up for her having to sing to summon magic at least. She looked away for half a second, but when her eyes darted back, Aqua was gone. She narrowed her eyes, knowing it wouldn't take long to find her again.
Suddenly, Aqua was not too far from her, having used her light magic to speed herself up. Grumbling lightly, Melda launched herself out of the way, rollling behind another pillar and just barely avoiding the burst of water. I thought we agreed only water based magics Aqua! She called out, her voice tainted with an irritated tone.
Standing, she cracked her neck, glancing around her pillar to where Aqua was hiding, waiting to strike again. Melda sighed, but as she moved to face forward again, she caught site of Adrain watching from the sidelines. A smile instantly hit her face, one that she tried to quell down again but was having some difficulty.
With another deep breath in and out, Melda sprinted from behind one pillar to another, a few feet closer to where Aqua was hiding. She knelt down, placing her hands flat on the the ground. She channeled her manna, summoning all the melted ice and remaining water from around their area in a very discrete manner, moving it in a slow stream to form a puddle around Aqua's feet. Once it was all there, she froze it to ice immediately, hopefully freezing the girl in place.
As soon as that was complete, she hopped up on top of the pillar she'd been kneeling behind, and sent another ice sphere directly at Aqua.

Aqua grinned lightly, she did remember they made that agreement. "Whoops! Sorry. But real combat isnt like that!" she said sticking her tongue out to play with Melda a bit. Aqua's scheme was going according to plan she was trying to find melda from her hiding spot while staying hidden while observing Melda for a moment. 'Why is she smiling..?' she thought to herself silently before turning around and seeing Adrain, She waved her hand a little at him to stay hidden but then lost sight of Melda soon after "was she smiling at him?" she said to herself
When aqua tried to get up and move she realized her feet were stuck. "What the?!" she became surprised Melda actually managed to trap her. She gained some more respect for Melda in that moment since not many can say they trapped the combat princess. She began to panic since her plan was thrown off and soon after an ice sphere was being hurled directly at her. She tried to use her spear to break the ice around her feet but she began to become desperate, she didnt like the feeling of being trapped. It was soon after her pendant flashed brightly and she took a deep breath and began to sing quite loudly so Melda could not interrupt with a shout this time
As she sang the ice sphere stopped slowly in front of her almost landing a blow on her. The ice around aqua began to crack and break, releasing her from the ice that trapped her, aqua's eyes changed from her normal light heart expression to one of determination and focus. The icy demeanor that was normally locked away was out now. As the ice ledge aqua was hiding behind cracked and the sphere broke as well aqua manipulated the ice to form a lot of small icicles. Aqua flung her hand out towards Melda and changed notes to send the icicles flying towards Melda in a widespread formation hoping it would land at least one hit.
Aqua then took her spear and flourished it into a defensive position preparing herself for Melda's counter attack.

That may be true, but we're trying to work on specific skills for you. Please try and remember that! She called back, rolling her eyes a bit.
Everything seemed to be going according to plan, when Aqua's entire demeaner shifted. Melda arched an eyebrow, preparing to dodge as she watched Aqua begin to sing. She needs to find a way out of that... Melda thought, shaking her head slightly.
Impressivly enough, after shattering the sphere, Aqua used it against her, forming it and other ice chunks into icicles that were now headed directly for her. Melda swung her arms up as fast as she could, a wall of ice going with them, erecting itself just as the icicles were about to reach her. She wouldn't admit it, but she was holding her breath the entire time, unsure the wall would be up in time.
Well done! That procedure was very well executed. Melda praised, waiting to lower the wall just in case. Shall we take a break?

"Yes mam! I am sorry!" she called out to Melda regarding the fact aqua used light magic. She was having a rather fun time with Melda, from what she can remember it was a while before someone was able to keep aqua on her toes.
After the ice wall blocked the shots aqua sighed a bit as the blasted into the wall causing a loud crashing noise. That last move was a last ditch effort and if it didn't work aqua surely would have been hit. After Melda called out giving praise to Aqua she smiled a bit, and responded to her "Yes, please!" she responded and then turned to face Adrain.
she ran over to Adrain and placed both her hands behind her back, her ponytail swinging as she ran. "Hello Headmaster!" she said with a happy smile on her face. "What brings you here today?" she asked curiously with a smile on her face, she was rather happy to see Adrain since he was the one who allowed her to stay here and meet some interesting new people. As her back was turned to Melda, aqua would still be trying to sense if magic was being used behind her but doubted she would aim for her with Adrain so close and then again this was not Arthas who likes to trick her during training, so she dropped her guard a bit.

Adrain watched cautiously and curiously as the two water mages sparred. Aqua had some natural talent for combat, even though Melda was hell bent on breaking the singing element of it. Old style training like this admittedly made him nervous: Melda or Aqua getting hurt would be horrible to him. This was precisely why the ARC was made. That aside, there was a place for it even if he didn't 'like' it.
"Good day Aqua and Instructor Vanya." he greets, smiling faintly at Melda but maintaining professionalism for the time and present company. "I've been observing all faculty at various points recently to see how their styles are performing in education and technique. You seem to be making considerable progress yourself on fostering your abilities." he says, observing that Aqua quite rapidly was gaining her abilities back which was a major concern to the bluenette.

Melda lowered the wall with a sigh, happy to be taking a break herself. Despite how limber she was being while they trained, she was admittedly sore from some recent extracurricular activities she'd been partaking in. Her skin was flushed, but that was easily passed off to be from the training.
She walked up to the two who were now chatting, cracking her neck. "Afternoon Headmaster." She smiled, a hand resting on the dip between her neck and shoulders, rubbing softly. "You are doing considerably better Aqua. But we need to find a way around the vocals of it all. If someone just needs to be louder than you to hinder your magic, you're going to face some rather large issues in the future." Melda stated, with a tough love smile.
She glanced at Adrain after, holding in a smile. "But regardless. You're still doing much better." She said, turning her attention back to her student.

Aqua caught melda and adrain smiling at each other again...what was going on between this two...? "that was odd..." when Melda spoke of aqua's inability to manipulate water freely without having to sing "Thank you professor Melda and Headmaster for your guidance so far." the fated half angel then put her hand on her chin and began to try and recall some memories, "I remember at one point not having to sing unless I wanted to move water..and some of the spells i have access to at the moment..dont require it like my guards... or chains..was it a command or something..?" she said trying really hard to remember how it was done. "Well im sure I'll eventually find out how." she said with an optimistic smile to Adrain and Melda. "But i was thinking maybe like Miss Nyx I need to use a conduit of sorts? I could be wrong however I suppose in these times like this I only have Trial and error?" she said while going to her bag in the corner of the room near the door. "Ah damn it I left it in my room- Oh wait.." she said before using her transcribe spell to pull up a copy of the design she had, A manifestation of a piece of paper that had Aqua's Staff Design on it would be shown to both of her teachers should they like to comment on it regardless she would blush when showing it to them since she isn't used to showing people her designs. Besides the actual drawing of the staff on the paper various notes would be written pointing to specific points on the staff for reasons on it's design, and then there were a few notes on how it looks pretty and other little quirky sentences. Adrain exhales and softly smiles, closing his eyes whilst looking in the direction of the ground for a moment. "So eager for combat training most students are." he says wistfully, his generally pacifist nature leaking out for a moment. "Everyone does have a style, but Melda is right in that it's a substantial weakness right now." he says, then raising a brow as Aqua got distracted and scurried off to begin a design. he looks at it analytically and smiles.
"That's not a bad design. It's common to use an item as a conduit, the tradition is a staff from archaic days when it was easier to make it that way. I prefer making an amplifier which is smaller and harder to knock out of a grip, but a staff can work with a rearm spell attached to it that calls it back to you in the event you lose it." he says as he then look at it.
"The advantage of a staff is the size lets you put more power in it through having high quality water crystal form the headpiece and the inner shaft circuit, so you can multiply a water spell several times over. It should be easy enough to make, might even be able to make it a little stronger with a small amount of your blood to make it attune to you more strongly." he says mentally putting together how to piece such an item together.

Melda sighed. She knew Aqua would remember it some day, but until they she would have to continue training. "I'm willing to guess its a stress thing." Melda commented to Adrain, shaking her head with a smile as Aqua took off to grab something, returning with it to show them.
"Oh I like it. I use a spear. Though it was previously enchanted for water mages, it is still quite helpful with my own magics." She didn't have much else to add- weapons werent something she was well versed in.

"Ah so you use a spear like me? I didnt know that" Aqua said, lingering on those few words she said. Spear? Why did it feel like such an unfamiliar weapon to her? Oh well she laid the thought to rest and focused back on the situation at hand. "Well, If i may be excused to my room, id like to rest for a bit. It seems my body, although he has gained some of it's strength back is still not used to this world's magic, my vocal chords feel a bit strained." She said rubbing her neck a little bit, the veins around her throat were throbbing a bit and it was slightly discomforting to her. "I shouldn't be too worried about it right? Is it normal?" she asked professor Vanya
Once she was all clear to go, aqua would bow to Melda and Adrain, then head to her room for a small nap to rest up for a bit, after all she did really enjoy sleep.
