The following day, Adrain had made good on his promise to start training Faye while waiting for the response for Galahad. He would have Faye come to a closed outside training ground: he needed to assess how her abilities were starting up and where she would develop in a program, what her innate element was, a number of things. His mind's eye would scan to make sure she didn't run off again but seemingly no issues were to be had.
When Faye made her way to the training ground, Adrain would be seen throwing elemental infused ice lances at targets of conjured stone. The process would be first to make the lance, then make a faux circuit to channel a second mana type into it sort of like a detonation. It was uncommon technique and not practical for combat, but it was interesting to watch the interactions.

After drinking and talking with Aqua all night, Faye didn't get much sleep. Knowing that her training with the Headmaster started today, she knew she should of went to bed earlier, but she was having so much fun that she didn't want to leave. Faye looked out the window of her dorm and saw that sun was starting to rise. She begrudgingly rolled out of bed and walked over to her bathroom to start a bath. She pulled her hair down from the massive messy bun on her head and combed through it with her fingers, trying to untangle as much as she could before washing it. She then stripped out of her silk pajamas and stepped into the bathtub, soaking in it for a few minutes to calm her nerves before proceeding to bathe herself. As Faye dried her hair, she walked over to her closet to pick out an appropriate outfit for her first day of training. She skimmed through her clothes and shortly found what she was looking for, a eggshell colored dress with a tight pair of leather pants and simple boots. She pulled her hair up into a pony tail, quickly got dressed and ate a quick breakfast before heading off. Upon entering the training grounds, Faye saw that Adrain was doing target practice with some sort of ice magic. She approached him slowly, not wanting to startle him. "Headmaster, I am ready to begin." She stood patiently with her hands clasped in front of her person.

"Oh good, you're here." he says as he stops his own target practice. He looks at Faye with the sternness of an instructor, watching the girl. Annoyance was evident in his eyes but he tried to put it aside for now. "So first I need to assess what your abilities are, to identify an initial progression path. I want you to demonstrate your magic to me now." he says, stepping back to give her space and work.

Adrain was getting right to it. It was very clear that he was angry with her. She had disobeyed his orders, and for that she was sorry. Faye figured that the best way to show it was to follow every order Adrain gave her during this session to a T. "Yes, Headmaster." Faye nodded and stepped into the open space. She then held her arms out to her side, her hands flat with her palms facing upwards. A purple orb of light began to form in each of her hands and suddenly a vortex of butterflies flew out of each hand like a tornado. The butterflies then began to work together to create a wall in front of Faye.
Suddenly, the butterflies began to turn black and then to ash. The ash began to blow everywhere, eventually settling to the ground. Faye let out a blood curdling scream and began to push on her temples. Blood began to stream down her face from her eyes and down her neck from her ears. She crippled to the ground, pulling herself into the fetal position and screaming. The pain was unbearable. Everything around her began to fade as she succumbed to the darkness.

Adrain was alarmed as he instantly ran to Faye when she began to have an adverse reaction to the magic. It was a lovely, unique display until that point. He picks her up and pulls her into his lap as he quickly looks her over, all signs of anger being gone. He scowls as he then holds his right arm up, tapping into his divine gift.
"Alter.." he says quietly as time rapidly rewinds to just before Faye had cast that spell, undoing the damage that was done and the bleeding. He exhales, looking at her as he holds his hand up, looking for anomalies on her body with a magic scan.

Faye was suddenly laying Adrain's lap and he was towered over her, using some sort of magic on her. She looked up at him, frozen with fear and unsure of what was going on. She sat up quickly and brushed herself off. "What's going on? Why am I on the ground?" Faye had no recollection of what just happened.
Adrain would see that Faye's magic needed something to draw energy from but the object is still unknown.

Adrain exhales as Faye seemed to recover. He looks at her as she gets up and orients herself as he exhales to try and explain it. "So...when I asked you to cast a spell just now, you tried to use a butterfly technique. But then it went completely wrong and you fell over in pain bleeding from your eyes. I reversed the damage quickly...but this is a problem that needs to be solved before I can train you." he exhales as he then stands back up and looks at Faye.
"Does that always happen when you use magic?"

Faye was shocked at what Adrain was telling her. "No, I haven't really used magic since coming here though. I don't even remember what you are telling me." Faye began to look panicked. She looked around the area, looking for a chair to sit in, suddenly feeling faint.

Adrain steps forward and holds Faye up, cautious when she seemed faint. "Have you ever felt strange or had weird magic on you back in kanto?" he says, leading her to a large stone. He touches it as he morphs the mana within the stone to take the shape of a chair with a back as he patiently kneels. All evidence of the anger was gone now, only replaced with concern.
"The fact you don't remember is concerning. The last time you can remember doing magic, did anything unusual happen?"

Faye leaned on Adrain and followed him to the stone. She was amazed at what he could do with his abilities, but was too weak to comment on it. Faye took a seat on the stone chair and leaned back. "No. I never had any issues while in Kanto. I had minor headaches after using my abilities but that is it." Adrain kneeled beside her. He didn't look angry anymore, in fact he looked really concerned about her condition.
"The last time I used magic was when I was in Kanto, right before I left. I was in the garden, and I used my ability to spy on the gardener. I didn't like the way he was treating my flowers."

"A gardener?" he says, looking at the girl softly. "What was this Gardener doing, such that you used your magic to spy on him? I wonder if he was some sort of mage who put a curse on you or something." he says, then exhaling as he sits on the ground and looks up at her.
"Well I am definitely glad that you have come here, even if it was dangerous and on your own. If this is an issue with your magic it needs to be fixed so that you are able to function normally as a mage. Something like this definitely isn't normal such that when you draw mana in your body reacts so severely." he says, rubbing his eyes a little with a contemplative expression.
"I could sense your power was drawn to something...not entirely uncommon but usually something a person has close to them which the connection is to faint to discern easily."

Faye thought for a moment before speaking. "Well, from what I could tell, he was trying to do something to the soil. I am not entirely sure what he was doing, but it made me really angry. So, I spied on him for a little while to ensure they weren't harmed and when he finally walked away, the flowers seemed fine, but I had a strange feeling about it." Adrain sat on the ground looking up at her and she couldn't help but blush a little. He really was a handsome man.
"I am glad I came here too." She smiled down at Adrain, glad that he seemed to not be angry with her anymore. "I don't know if this has ever happened to me before. I don't know if I have ever used magic since leaving Kanto before coming here. But, I do recall a time where I woke up on the ground to a samurai staring at me. I don't know why I was on the ground, but there were a lot of people around me. This might have happened before." She frowned, not liking the fact that she felt so unsure.
Faye arched an eyebrow. "Drawn to something? That's strange."

"Hm...the soil.." he murmurs half to himself as he looks at the possibilities. So something in the garden might be what the culprit is. He would have to examine the gardens to find out any more information, but to see it was easier said than done since he was a part of Noku's court and he wasn't sure if there was a way to be allowed on castle grounds too easily.
When she blushed, he rose a brow but his own cheeks pinkened ever so slightly. he listened to her story, something about another incident but during her adventures off the campus he couldn't know for sure one way or the other what was going on. When she inquired as to drawn to something, he nodded.
"Yes...have you ever felt an attraction or bond to anything in that garden?"

Faye thought for a moment and then reluctantly shook her head. "I have only noticed that my powers are stronger in the garden than anywhere else." She continued to frown. The thought that her powers were trying to kill her frightened her. She still felt weak but her strength was slowly coming back. "I think I should go lay down for a while and let my body heal. Can we talk about this another time?" She gave Adrain an apologetic smile.
