Garrett had received a letter by carrier eagle early that day; The letter Instructing the Guard Captain to return to Nova during the time of crises. The hero's sent off to deal with Morgg; Had not yet returned and the sky over Nova had begun to grow ever dark with black ash filled clouds. The rumbling of Morgg’s mountain caused many of the farmers and citizens that lived near the outerwall to panic, leaving the kingdom of Nova in a uproar of doubt now that the carnival had suddenly left town.
The majority of Nova’s guards were summoned out into the streets to keep the peace and the riots low at all cost. The streets filled with third and 2nd district civilians, who stood gawking at the heavens, staring up at the sign of black clouds casting the area into suto-night. Garrett’s troops arrived last; each man and woman shielded and armed while following behind their captain who lead by riding on a horse. Garrett’s attire dressed in full armor with the military blue sash across his torso. His expression hidden behind the protection of the helm he worn.
“ Secure the districts at all cost! If the mountain decides to spit red-rocks we need to have the mages ready and in position! “ Garrett commanded, looking up at the large granite wall towers that provided ‘protection’ between the Second and Third district. His attention following along the wall to the larger outer walls that stood between Morgg and Nova.
“ Send a carrier falcon to lady melda; Along with a bird to the arch for any possible assistance. I’m not sure what is going down at morgg, but the looks of the sky tells me we’ll need as many magic users as possible. I hope the magi guard is prepared for this... “
Garrett spoke; His command directed at two of his soldiers, who wrote out the demands of assistance within the lower districts on parchment paper and attached it to the carrier falcons that perched on their arms. The soldiers released the birds before another set of quakes rumbled from the direction of morgg. The smell of ash and sulfur would soon become more noticeable. While the entire kingdom of Nova soon became shrouded by the black cloud; A cloud that soon sprinkled down small flakes of soot and ash onto the streets, buildings, and civilians below who dared to stand outside.
