Malek cleaned the blood off spike end of his warhammer, making sure nothing was left on the hammer. At his feet was a dead dire wolf. Malek grinned under his mask. He was hunting normal wolves and by pure luck he snagged one of these beauties. He needed to clear his mind from certain things. Things slowly became more of a mess the longer he stayed in Nova yet he couldn't convince himself to leave. He stared at the body of the wolf and tried to think of his hunt rather than past events. "She didn't hear me....she didn't see me...it was a clean kill. Best I could ask for with a beauty like this. Now what should I do with you darling?" Malek said jokingly. He crouched down and pulled out his dagger, leaning in to skin the beast. Salene Quinnzel

Salene had been itching to get into the woods again to hunt. She dressed in her roguish clothing, a tight, long sleeved black top that fit like a corset around her waist, and tight, black leather pants. The outfit was finished off with a black hooded cloak and a mask that covered everything except her piercing, purple eyes. She grabbed her bow, one that she had carved herself many years ago, and slung it over her shoulder, along with her quiver of arrows. She also grabbed her knife and attached the holster to her right thigh, securing it tight enough so that it would not slide around on her leg. Before getting ready to leave, Salene took one last look around her room. Deciding that she had everything that she needed, she emerged into the darkness and took on her partial dragon form, her beautiful black wings manifesting from underneath her cloak. With a few thrusts of her wings, she was in the air, and off towards the Forever Forest. Upon arriving, Salene heard a voice nearby and decided to investigate. She lowered herself into a tree and perched herself on a branch, her movements silent, only the wind underneath her wings able to be heard. She peered out from the leaves in the tree to see a man in a mask crouched over a dire wolf, a good kill she had to admit.

Malek was happily skinning the beast when he got this feeling. He had hunted enough to know the feeling of being watched and this was that feeling. Malek perked his head up and slowly reached for his hammer. "Someone there? I know your watching so it would be appreciated if you show yourself." Malek stood up and looked around, his warhammer in hand. His fire red hair seemed to shine and almost appear like actual flames in the sunlight. Malek glanced from bush to bush and then started to go from treetop to treetop. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary from what he saw but he could never be too sure.

Salene didn't know whether to descend from the treetops or hold her perch. The man seemed aggravated and he was armed. Trusting her archery skills, she dropped to the ground, her hand steadying her balance before she stood up. "At ease, I was only coming to hunt when I heard you talking to the beast you killed. It is quite an impressive land, if I might add." Her wings still towered over her from her back and her eyes seemed to glow.
Salene closed her eyes and inhaled slowly through her nose, and as she did, her wings curled up and eventually disappeared into her skin. She then opened her eyes, which would now appear normal. "My name is Salene, I am a hunter of the Dra'Keen clan. I also teach at the Arch. Who might you be?"

Malek was surprised that this woman had jumped from the trees of all places. He hadn't heard a thing, and he knew he would have heard something if she climbed up the tree. Malek stared at her for a moment. "Oh....well thank you. I wasn't even trying to hunt a dire wolf originally, but I just saw it there resting so I had to take that chance." Malek bowed to Salene "A pleasure to meet to Salene. I am Malek Naritoloth. My clan....well it is gone now so it does not matter." Malek knew the woman was Kray the moment he met her, and he made it obvious he was as well.

"I am very sorry to hear that." She looked sincere as she spoke, realizing that the man that stood in front of her was also Kray. "It is very nice to meet you Malek." She nodded her head, symbolizing a bow without actually bowing. "Purposely or not, that is a nice catch." Salene walked and stood over the dire wolf, admiring it's size and beauty.
"So, what brings you out to the Forever Forest? Other than the obvious, of course. I hunt out here because I know these woods like the back of my hand and my clan lives not far from here." Salene looked at Malek, studying the mask on his face. She took her finger and pulled down her own mask and quickly after, pulled off the hood of her cape, revealing her messy purple hair. She ran her fingers through it to try to tame it some.

Malek sighed "It is alright. Although I miss dragons and I have gotten used to it being gone." Malek turned around and looked at the dire wolf with Salene "Oh well my camp isn't too far away from here really. I was mostly going for some lunch. I have no where to go so I just make small little camps I go to here in the forest. There are my homes away from home as one would say." Malek looked to Salene without her mask and blushed, luckily his mask hid it. Why were all Kray women so beautiful?! "So....what is your clan like? I never really interacted with other clans so I can't say I've had experience with Dra'keen clan members."

Salene could feel Malek's intense stare as she revealed her face. She didn't know whether he simply was studying her features, or if he liked what he saw, but she could tell that he was looking at her with more attention than normal. "Well, everyone in my clan has a job. My father is a lead hunter and my mother a healer among our people. I took after my father, hence the bow." She nudged her head towards her bow to draw attention to it. She then reached behind her back to pull the massive bow from around her shoulders. "I hand carved this baby myself, with my father's guidance of course. He taught me everything I know." She smiled, thinking of her parents who she missed dearly.

Malek nodded as Salene talked about her tribe. It sounded much like his own to be quite honest. He turned his attention to the bow when she nodded her head. Malek studied it intensely. "Mhm...yes as a hunter and warrior I must say this is fine craftmenship. I am not a fan of bows but I will admit it is impressive. I mostly use this warhammer here. Not the best weapon for hunting but I make it work. It's more out of honor than anything. This hammer is as old as my family's lineage and it has been with us for all that time. It is custom in my family that the strongest warrior be it male or female gains this hammer for battle. As both my clan and family are gone I use it as a symbol of remberance. That we Naritoloths live and die fighting for something always."

"That's very noble of you. I simply use my bow for the thrill of the hunt. I'm a pretty good shot if I do say so myself." She smirked at the masked man. "So, you have seen my face, why are you still hiding yours?" She arched her eyebrow, curious as to why Malek chose to hide his face. "If you don't want to reveal yourself, I understand. Some people aren't quick to trust strangers, though if you had to pick a stranger to trust, I'd be your girl." She flashed a grin, obviously entertained with her forwardness.

Malek paused for a moment "I hide my face for my own reasons, none that really matter right now. So I suppose it I can take my mask off." Malek moved a hand and carefully peeled his mask from his face. The first thing that would be visible to Salene would be the beginning of a large scar that moves down his entire face. "Yes it is not a pretty sight is it? Was hunting a magical beast, as you can see it didn't go as planned. I was lucky a couple were going on a stroll during that time. The carried me off back to the nearest town and I was patched up real nice. Serves as a reminder for me to stay on my guard."

Salene's face remained indifferent as Malek pulled the mask off his face. "I don't think it is anything to hide your face over. But, hey, to each their own."
No sooner than Malek finished speaking, Salene quickly drew her bow and aimed it just over Malek's shoulder. When she released her arrow, it flew past Malek's cheek and into another dire wolf, hitting it directly between the eyes and dropping it to the ground. "You must have killed his mate. You're welcome to both wolves for the meat, I have nothing to carry such a large animal."

Malek didn't have any time react as Salene shot the arrow right above his shoulder. He instinctively ducked to the ground and heard the thud behind him. Malek got back up and looked at the dire wolf. "Wow...that might have given me another one of these scars on my face. Thank you for that. I mean I could carry it for you if you want. I've carried much worse than a dire wolf. I just need the bones and pelt of the wolf I got, leave the meat for something else so I won't really be to encumbered."
