Sai walked into one of the taverns in the Merchant District. Honestly, she just needed a good drink after that date she had well would one call it a date if she was unwilling to enjoy it. Then rowing back to shore if she ever gets her hands on the Goddess she will give her a piece of her mind.
Deciding to put those thoughts behind her, she took her favorite seat near the bar but off to the corner close to the window. Taking her hair, she placed it over her shoulder, calling over one of the bar maidens. Ordering a large mug of ale, she scan the room. No one interesting was here tonight, so she would most likely be drinking alone. Right now changing her features to look like a human to blend in would take too much out of her since she hadn't been able to get a good night rest to recover.
Looking at as the maiden brought her the drink. Tossing a few coins on the table she took the drink, turning to look out of the window. The city wasn't much either since not many people were out and about. Drinking her ale, she started to think about what to do with her life, if she couldn't make a living in her current job path.
Breathing deeply she turns back to look at the people in this place. They were a few couples smiling and giving each other goe goe eyes. It was sickening to watch after all if she was to walk over there looking like either of them they would be looking at her like that and could easily kill them. It was how she did her first job and how she would do any job she takes on from now on.
"Foolish people, being in love." Taking a large swig of her drink.

"What a dreadfully cynical statement to be hearing from such a lovely lady" calls a voice from the stool next to her. A man was sitting there comfortably, and grinning as he took a swig and looked around the tavern. "What?'s wrong with a little companionship, though I doubt all of the couples here are actually In love." He admits looking at her over the rim of his mug.
The man was handsome with hawkish features that made him seem both attentive and slightly mischievous. He wore a white shirt with a large collar and a long brown jacket that seemed well worn, his brown eyes were a slightly pale color and his smile revealed straight white teeth. In many ways he looked like exactly what he was, a traveling showman.
"It has been quite a long time since I have seen an elf, but I suppose your lifespan has probably embittered you to passions. But the ability to love and to sacrifice for that love is poetic don't you think?" He asks, raising his mug to her. "And I will say, that if you wanted it I'm sure there are some eligible men around who would love to spend some time with you." He chuckles slightly, apparently meaning it as harmless banter.

Sai didn't turn to look at the man, next to her. She continues to drink wishing that it would take her under the sweet lustful embrace of alcohol. A scowl appeared on her face when he asked what was wrong with companionship. They were so much wrong with it, from the feelings of you get for another person and the messiness of love.
Feeling his eyes on her, as if he was checking her out as she heard some of the fated say. Shifting her eyes to look at him from the corner of her eye. From what she could tell he was just a plain human, other than his clothes and perfectly straight white teeth he wasn't much to look at in her opinion.
Even went she through she wasn't giving him the time of day he kept talking. Doesn't this human take a hint that she didn't want to talk to him. The simple fact that he mentioned her being an elf, she wanted to take her drink and shove it down his throat to shut him up. His useless chatter was ruining her mood, more than the silly couples looking at each other.
Finally not taking it anymore, she turned on her stool facing him, the scowl still on her face. "First of all do you always speak to random people you meet at a tavern. Second I have never experienced this passion of love, that has left me bitter as you so think. Third love isn't poetic at all, it is a weakness of the heart that cause people to act like love sicken puppies."
Rasing an eyebrow at his comment about some of the eligible men wanting to spend some time with her. Sadly the human didn't even know half of it, even the unelgible men and even some women would love to spend the time with her, if she choose to become the person they so much desire. "I'm also guessing that from your statement you also desire my body."

Rivers grins a bit as the girl begins to snap at him, well she started talking, that is a start. He reminds himself as he listens to her reply. "Well to be honest, yes, I do usually talk to people at taverns, it is often times what one does." He replies simply, after all taverns were places of stories and bards and often where people came to socialize. He listens to the rest of her reply but finds himself shaking his head.
"It saying that love it bad because it makes people act like they are in love is a circular argument." He replies and then thinks for a moment, it was difficult to explain this with statements perhaps a different tact. "Then let me ask you, what is wrong with the actions of those in love?"
Though when the girls asks him if he desires her body he stops for a moment and ponders this question. It was true that she was attractive but he couldn't help but think to himself about how the questions was phrased. "Well that's not really a fair questions, I can either say "yes" and you shall consider me a lech, or I can say "no" and it can be construed as an insult. On the whole I would say you are attractive though." He replies not mentioning his personal stance.

Sai looked at the man was he grinned at her, honestly what did she have to do to make him go away. Walking out and leaving the tavern was not an option since she had her stuff upstairs in a room and she wasn't about to leave her stuff behind. "Maybe you do but I don't." She said turning back to watch the sicken couples.
"Do you truly care what I have to say or are you just trying to keep the conversation going." She took another drink as she breathe heavily, wondering when this hell of a night was going to be over. "I saw a man die because of his love for another. I seen people steal, killing, cheat and even die because of love. The people in love throw caution to the wind and make mistakes."
Turning her head this time, glaring at him wishing for the first time that a look could kill a person. "It was a fair question. Had you said yes I would have known you're just like them, had you said no I would think that you are attached to men." It was true a yes would have told her that he was just like every other man and woman out there, looking a wild night with and elf. The no would have told her that he liked men and then maybe she wouldn't be so mean and talk to him. Sadly the human had to continue and said that he did find her attractive.
Finishing her drink, she looked at the empty mug. If this night was going to continue like this she would need another drink. Calling over the bar maiden she got her to get her another drink. "What is it that you want then? You said that I am attractive, so what are you looking to check off sex with my race?" She breath hard again, as the girl came back with her drink, thanking her she place a few gold coins on the counter and told her to keep it coming. "If so then you got to buy me a few more drinks and we make our way to a room and forget each other in the morning. If not then I am sure you can find some nice human girl to warm your bed tonight."

"If I merely wished to talk I would not choose a topic which yous seemed to detest. What I wish is a discussion, and a chance to simply debate." Rivers replies simply, he seemed mostly interested in banter at this out, "you claim that because people will die, kill and do act for love that it is bad, that I must ask what of duty, what of honor, is everything that is no base selfishness to be despised because it makes us move towards our ends?" He asks curiously, he'd danced this dance before and he was curious where this one would lead.
When she glares at him and states that he either must want to bed her or that he must be gay Rivers let out a laugh. "Oh boy~" He gasps "I needed that, I've met few with as high an opinion of themself as yours. Believe it or not, people's tastes vary, no one is universally appealing." He replies, amusement dancing in his eyes. Sai's barbs seemed to amuse him more than anger or deter the man.
Though when she asks if he was looking to check off her race from a bucket list he shakes his head. "I do not need to try and make great conquests, a bard needs to stories of his own accomplishments," He replies but then decides perhaps he was being too indirect about this whole thing. "As you clearly do not desire such, I have no desire or intention of bedding one who dislikes the idea."
Then he places some coins on the bar. "That being said I will buy you a drink, as I do wish a fellow with which to banter, and we are already getting along so well."

Sai didn't know what was up with this human first he claims that he finds her attractive, now he claims to just want to talk. If so then she might as well enlighten him and talk. "Duty? Honor? Selflessness? You got to be kidding me. Those things only lay on the battlefield. To love a person because of duty or honor is flase love. To be correct, it is lust." Still she didn't know why he seems too interested in defending love. "People don't do things for love because they selfless, they doing it because they will get something out of it. It is the basic nature of people. We do not love, we lust."
Rolling her eyes at his outburst went she claim that he might be gay. If only the human would shut his mouth, she might have liked him better if he was gay, hell she would have liked him better. "I don't have a high opinion of myself, as you may think. I seen men like you come in. All after the same thing, why else shouldn't I ask." The look in his eyes only prove to angry her more, but she wasn't going to let it show, after all she was trained not to let her emotions show on her face.
"So no great conquest." She chuckled at that, surely this man couldn't be true. Deciding to take a closer look at him, she eyed him looking him from head to toe. His clothes weren't too strange, but he did act strange, maybe he was one of those people call Fated. If he was it would explain this a lot easier but she wasn't going to ask. "A traveling bard eh? So shouldn't you be singing or telling stories. Not questioning my standpoint on love." She almost rolled her eyes at him, so what he might be the first decent man who wouldn't focus a woman in his bed. That was the final straw he was truly Fated but now it was a matter of what world.
Taking a sip of her drink, she closes her eyes, reminding herself to breathe deeply. As her eyes were close the image of a woman popped into her mind's eyes. She felt her features adjusting, quickly opening her eyes stopping it. This man might make her show her true colours, giving her mind a mental shake, she took a lock of her hair grateful that it was still its silver colour. "One drink, that is all I will allow you to buy me. So tell me" She turned to face him, not knowing that the tint in her eyes had changed adding purple to them. Lending on the counter, looking at him. "Why do you defend love?"
