The sun had just begun to set past the horizon line. The colors melting together in the dying light, a pallet of reds, orange, and purples hues splashed like a painted canvas outlining the snow cap peeks in the far off distance. From afar, outside the Moon temple, eager and anxious eyes watched as the event at the gallows unfolded. The cheer's of the Novian civilians echoed out through the districts, almost sending everyone in a celebratory frenzy. Even the Moon temple maiden's and grounds keepers left the historical building un-attended for a brief moment. A brief enough moment for a un-noticed hooded figure to slip past distracted eyes.
Once inside the building, the cloaked humanoid removed the heavy hood to reveal the familiar face of the king's advisor. Though no maiden would greet her the door this time. Instead, the rooms were silent as Mysteria quickly moved to the locked 'Fated' chambers. Her hand reaching into her cleavage to pull out a small silver key, unlocking the door and opening it to enter vast empty main room where normally Fated would appear. The only sound present being the cheer's outside and the water pouring out from the fountain in the middle of the room. Closing the door behind; Mysteria locked it for safe measures. After all, she didn't want to get caught or for anyone to disturb this strangely quiet and yet exciting moment.
The first change in the weave of fate. The new strains that would alter the tapestry that once spelled out this worlds future. Now it would be forever changed, all thanks to Fate an the stone he had placed in this room; The strange gem floating high above the fountain. It's metallic surface gleaming with all sorts of different colors as it slowly spun around in a clock wise fashion.
" My Divine, I hope that your words ring true…" The woman spoke softly, her gaze not leaving the small suspended shard. A loud crackling sound rolling in from outside, disturbing her fixed gaze. A skip in her heart beat as it began to sink heavily within her chest. Burning in fear, she rushed to the balcony door to see what had caused the commotion. Only to see black smoke climbing up to the heavens and expanding out a thick black wave over the kingdom, blocking out the evening sky from view. Even the moon was becoming blocked out by the ominous black rising ash and smoke. A soft orange glow flickering at the location where the Gallows would be.
" Thats not good…" She whispered under here breath in a clearly frustrated tone. Had Louie caused this fire?! Mysteria thought to herself, knowing good and well that her time here in the temple was cut in half. Now she would have to quicken her pace and pray to her god that the mercenary she hired would be sober enough to do what she had paid him to do. If the 'Fated' were to die there, all would be loss, so time was of the essence now.
Mysteria moved away from the door and returned to the fountain in the middle of the room, eyes locked on the shard high above. Her lips pressed with frustration as cheer's turned into horrified screams that filtered it's way into the room from outside. The city was in a panic. A perfect distraction in a time like this, sense the kingdom would be focusing it's eye's on the Gallows and not her. A chance to at least give the 'Fated' a fighting chance, but to do so she would need brute force and will far beyond what she was currently capable of…In this body.
" Damn… If only I had more time." She almost growled under her breath. A purple aura whipping around her finger tips violently, quickly swirling around her arm as it seemed to feed on the manna coercing through her veins. Her blood began to boil under the flesh an soon the human looking woman began to transform. Her eyes being the first to change, her pupils turning into serpent like slits. While lavender and black metallic scales began to emerge from her skin, bones popping as she gritted her growing sharp teeth. Even her hair became a part of the change; merging an morphing into her tail and spikes. The human body disappearing within the vortex of purple and scales, growing to keep up with the rapid change. Until finally a serge of energy broke forth! The transformation was complete an the aura quickly dissipated in a wave of energy, completing the final transformation as semi-large dark metallic dragon stood. Her wings stretching out for the first time in almost 500 years, crushing and knocking off chunks of the statues as she raised her head and her wings fully expanded. Even her eyes were eye level now to the shard, opening her jaws and snapping shut over the crystal.
Another serge of energy sparked in her craw as Melania began to pull. Her dragonic strength ripping the shard from it's spot and forcing it to budge and be set free. A feat that had proven to be relatively easy in THIS form. However, now it was time to leave. An this would surely cause some alarm if anyone were to hear it within the Temple. Which unfortunately, the only way out safely seemed to be going up or out the windows. A trash of her whip like tail broke the fountain, back legs sprung upwards giving Mysteria some lift as she suddenly burst through the glass windows an destroyed the side of the temple in her exiting wake. Her wings carrying her upwards higher into the sky until reaching the black hovering clouds of smoke. This would be her cover until she could make it to the Manna Gorge where she would place the Fated stone inside of the refuge she had created, Gallow's Bane. The Fate'd Shard resting in her jaws as she carried it over the city to where it's new home would be. For she knew this form would not last much longer.
