Aria ran around the castle; a big grin on her face. She had blankets in her hand, and a picnic basket on her arm. Her hair was tied back in a simple loose braid, and she wore a simple white over dress was over a simple swim set. Her feet were bare, but she didn’t see the point if she was going down to the beach. She first skipped up to Lucinda’s rooms and banged on the door. “LUCINDA! Going for a beach day! Meet me down by the water” Aria had already sent an invite to Melda, the other duchess in the castle that she enjoyed the company of. She then made a bee line towards Nokus rooms and knocked on the door. “Your Majesty, Lucinda, possibly Melda and I are going down to the beach, your welcome to join us.” Whether he accepted or not was up to him. She was about to head down to the beach when she also made a detour further up in the castle and knocked on Bretons doors as well. “A few of us are going down to the beach, your welcome to join us as well if you’d like.”
Aria headed down to the beach to set up; the morning had yet to burn off the haze, and it promised to be a perfect day to spend by the water. She set up blankets and weighed down the corners with rocks, and also placed the picnic basket filled with snacks on it. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it looked cozy enough. Once it was all set up she fell back on the blanket, a content grin on her face, and her toes scrunching in the sand as she awaited for the others to come along.

Lucinda started at the sudden banging on her door and could just make out Aria's words through the heavy wood. A wide grin settled on her face. After gathering her and Alli a towel and putting on her own swimsuit, a tasteful sky blue color that looked great against her coloring, and leaving her hair down, she hurried to join Aria on the beach. Alli rode on her shoulder, seemingly equally excited by the opportunity to enjoy a little seaside distraction.
Once she made it down to the beach, Lucinda spread out her towel next to Aria’s, grinning as she settled down with the little house dragon. “It’s a really lovely day for this, what a great idea!” she said in greeting, using a hand to shield her face as she looked out at the waves.

Melda looked up from her book when a messenger knocked on her door. After letting them in, receiving the invitation and dismissing the man, Melda let a small smile sneak on her lips. Aria sure was active, that much was certain. There was no doubt in her mind that Lucinda and Alli would be joining them— Melda had a hard time believing Aria would just invite her, they weren’t that friendly.
With a moments thought Melda stood, stretching out her shoulders, and walking over to her wardrobe, gathering two towels, and calling her handmaid over to help her out of her days outfit. She chose a burgundy coloured suit, a one piece. Melda may be old in human years, but as an elf she was quite young, despite the wrinkles on her face— laugh lines, really.— , her body was quite fit. She dressed over the suit, a white pullover dress, loose fitting with a sweetheart neckline, coming together with a tie. While she dressed, she had another messenger summoned. There was no need for @diamond to join them today, she highly doubted anything would happen. She would merely suggest he could take a couple hours off if he pleased, but could join them if he liked as well. She really didn’t mind.
Once everything was finished, Melda left her room, towels and umbrella in hand, joining the other girls at the beach. Aria, darling. Where do you come up with these ideas? Melda walked over, shaking her head and setting up her umbrella where Aria had everything else, placing her towels near by and sitting on the blanket. She really couldn’t handle a lot of sun.

Diamond more or less took the offer and before leaving for this event he got a few things. One was a set of extremely comfortable clothing of some shorts and a shirt. The other was a fishing pole, some line, and a few hooks. Before he left he had his weapons locked up in his cash since he doubted that he would need them. But took a knife, a light travel bag, and his crystals since he wanted at least some kind of major self defense tool with him. He had packed a towel and a extra set of clothes just in case. The other thing was that over his head was a wide brimmed hat to keep a good amount of sun off of him. He set his pack down with the rest of where the ladies had placed there things. Over his shoulder was a fishing rod and a small pack that held some of the other things to go with it.
"I might enjoy a few hours of fishing at least. Been two years since I did it" he said and looked a bit like some eye candy for some women. Since the shirt was slightly open to show his toned body. Diamond did eye some of the noble women there but stayed a bit clear from them. The white haired male was looking for a nice stony outcrop to sit on and fish from. Since he wanted to just relax on the matter.

Post by Noku Noru on Sept 3, 2015 2:30:06 GMT
The King sat with his elbows resting atop the marble of an out-of-the-way corner desk by a three-sided sitting window that afforded at once a view of the gardens towards the main grounds of the palace and a glimpse of the edge of the Noru private beach to the rear of the castle. The day was clear and glittering against the panes of the window, evenly illuminating its recessed seating and the contents of the desk-at present, a large vellum sheet, upon which reams of thin rectangular paper sheaves of various dimensions sat alongside small urns of uniform make, and bearing each a unique demarcation according to their contents. Noku was busying himself about fitting the contents of the urns according to his particular want of mixture into the sheaves-for which, each size received its particular ration-and setting them to roll lengthwise into closed cylinders. Deep in concentration, the sudden burst of Aria's invitation made him start, and mar the sheave nearly completed at his fingertips. He closed his eyes, and pressed the bridge of his nose between his fingers, breathing a deep draught of air and making no reply. He relaxed, and eased into the back of the chair, his chin upon his fist, pondering. He surveyed the torn sheave, bestrewn with plant material of varied hue and cut, and, raising his hand from his chin, index finger up, and raising an eyebrow with a pleasant smirk, selected a slightly larger sheave from the available bystanders. This, he filled first with the contents of the last attempt, then with a hearty pinch of the contents of a smaller, reddish urn bearing the Noru seal, nestled toward the back upper corner of the desk's supplemental shelf. Drawing up the diagonal corners of the sheave, he smartly applied a few very short strokes against the flat vellum, and then a single, fluid motion with the full length of his hands, producing a very nearly completed cigar just shy of the length of his forearm, and wider than his thumb. A simple tuck and twist made his efforts complete, and he stowed the fruit of his labor in the breast pocket of his lounging jacket.
"I had best tend to this in person; that woman has a veritable knack for causing disturbances in my court. At any rate," here, he paused, and selected another much shorter cylinder from his earlier efforts, making a companion of it in the like pocket, "I shall do my best to enjoy the course of this afternoon."
He strode from his study into the adjoining bedchamber, and entered his closet, pausing a few moments in contemplation. He selected a loose pair of breeches with a silken appearance; wide grey bands outlined by thin white trim, and along the borders, intricate flowers of blue, orange, and yellow. His shirt, he abandoned, returning his lounging jacket to his shoulders-the body all in black satin, the borders and sash burgundy velvet, and everywhere trimmed with oriental patterns in gold. Tucking his feet into a plain enough pair of cashmere moccasins, he called to one of the everpresent servants that attended his whims:
"Send down a large parasol and recliner to my spot on the beach, along with my pole and tackle."
Returning to the study, he selected a small wooden box just wider than a man's palm and twice as thick as his hand, bearing a regal-looking seal and some decorative carving about the seams, and removed from it a single firestick from the bundle. This, he struck against a coarse spot on the inside of the lid, and it presently burst into a slow, even flame that quickly brought the smaller of the two cylinders to smoking, at a few quick puffs from Noku. Armed thus, with his tinder box in his off hand and the smouldering stoage in his right, he sauntered leisurely down the corridor to the lower level exit of the castle onto the beach grounds. At the span of several minutes, he arrived to the sight of a distant man perched atop a boulder with pole and tackle in hand, and Lucinda, Aria, and Melda nearer on the beach, adorned appropriately.
A group of servants was making their way onto the beach carrying several boxes, some blankets, and one by himself a very large parasol, which gave him quite a bit of trouble. They hurriedly spread out the blankets, arranged several reclining chairs atop them, and placed by each a smaller parasol, erecting the largest by itself above a lavish dark tourmaline blanket and ebony recliner, fitted with plush cushions. This became Noku's directed destination; as he tread casually across the sand, his marble skin returned very little of the sun's rays, retaining the muted curves and ripples of his toned abdomen, as in a statue viewed indoors. Arriving underneath the plentiful shade, and reclining into the ebony chair, Noku firmly dragged a final time against the cigar, now to the ring just adjacent his fingers. With a fluid motion, he exhaled one firm ring of smoke, and flicked the butt of the cigar through it, past his kindred, and into the ocean. Removing its more formidable companion from his jacket-now hanging loosely, exposing his chest and chiseled flanks fully-he repeated his actions with the tinder box, and drew several long, heavy drags, filling the underside of the parasol with a whitish smoke yielding both earthy and floral tones.

Aria looked up and blinked to see that Lucinda had come and joined her; she smiled amused to see that Lucinda had already come dressed in her bathing suit. She thought it would have been inappropriate to go running about just clad in her bathing gear. At least until she got to the beach…she sat up seeing that Lucinda was in her bathing suit she didn’t see any reason why not to be in hers. It was nice to bask in the sun anyways.
”Thank you, I thought this would be nice, much to warm to go running around anywhere.”
She stood and pulled off her cover up dress, revealing a well-toned body. As was the fashion of the time for females her bathing suit consisted of a pair of form fitting pair of shorts that stopped at her knees in a dark forest green, the breast band that was a part of the bathing suit was the same color. Her pale skin a bright contrast to the dark cloth. Also contrasting was the striking black dagger tattoo on her forearm. Technically if she hadn’t illusioned away the black marks on her back the chakrams would have been visible too. She folded her dress and placed it under the basket of snacks she had brought. Aria looked over when Melda made her appearance and chuckled while giving a wave to Diamond who seemed to want to be anti social today.
”When you live on the grounds where you have access to a nice beach like this how can you not have this idea? At least this is tamer then shield sledding for peasants…that was a fun afternoon….also why the parasol? I thought those things were only useful for not getting chamber pots thrown on you while walking around the lower district.”
Aria noticed movement coming down from the castle …and blinked as she noticed yet another person bringing an umbrella…..a really really big parasol.
”…a lot of people must aim at him…”
Why else would you have a parasol that big…. Her voice was just above a whisper more muttering to herself then anything. He sure brought a lot of stuff….she glanced at her blanket…it was large enough to fit every one she had invited… though she didn’t bring cushions, the sand seemed comfy enough to her. Nor did she bring a recliner she preferred to dig hers out. Digging down a few layers in the sand always afforded a nice cool seat. He seemed to bring more baskets to; her curiosity peaked wonder what could be inside them…more food? She took her attention from it and looked out to the water.
”Who wants to go for a swim? Bet you I can catch more fish then whitey over there.”
She pointed to Diamond with a quirky grin before trotting to the water. The cold water already crashing over her feet. She took a deep breath once she was waist deep and dove in the rest of the way. It was easier just to get it over with.

Melda chuckled, Because darling, I may have a slow aging process and therefore flawless skin, but I burn incredibly easy. Melda set up right next to Aria, looking back at Diamond when he made his appearance. Well, if you insist. But you’re off duty. She called back to him. The man was slightly expensive to keep around, but she wouldn’t dare fire him either. He’d become to valuable.
Melda looked where Aria did, noticing the king, and standing immediately to bow in his presence. Your Majesty. She looked up as Aria went towards the water, skating her head. Perhaps later.

Diamond gave a nod to his boss as he was going to enjoy himself that day. As he was going to say something to Melda he hears a large group of people coming down. Then he saw why that there was a group coming down, as it seemed the King had came down to enjoy the fun there. But looked like the man was going to lounge about and not do a thing. Which was typical of any ruler. What got his attention was that the king had a similar shade of white hair as himself. Although there were a few others that had this color but it was not too common for humans to have as such. But again that was a thought for another time. Then hears a shout by Aria "Its not the amount you get its how big the fish is. Plus its the battle or fight with the fish as well. I am sure that the King would agree with me here" he called out to Aria. He assumed that King Noku did have some other manly hobbies or intrests. Since it seemed that fishing was a man's sport or past time when not busy with other things.
But Diamond did not doubt that Aria could catch about the same or more then him. As she seemed like a very crafty woman when speaking to her. That was the feeling he got from her that day.

Lucinda let Alli down to run around. Noticing Melda and Diamond arrive, she waved towards them both, watching curiously as Diamond set up to fish. They were followed shortly by His Majesty, whom the princess quickly bowed for before straightening and grinning at him warmly. That grin quickly turned into a look of bewilderment as Aria commented on what she expected parasol's to be used for. "That's absolutely disgusting," Lucinda exclaimed, shaking her head at the audacity and lows that peasants went to.
The princess made her way towards the surf crashing onto the beach, following Aria and squealing a little as the cold water rushed her feet. She didn't dive into the water like the red head though, but rather settled down on the sand to allow it to gently wash over her, her squeal morphing to giggles and shivers until she adjusted.
