The cloud of black gas hurt. It really, really hurt. Séanait hadn't seen it in the dark and had run right into it. The gas hadn't acted right away, giving her enough time to hit the dragon, but now it was in her lungs and her body spasmed as she coughed violently. The spear began to slip free of the dragon as she continued to cough. Then, a huge, clawed foot caught her spear and wrenched the shaft out of her hands, just as more of the foul black gas sprayed all over her.
Séanait screamed, or started to, at any rate. She broke down in a coughing fit part way through her scream of pain. Her skin felt like it was on fire, and she even thought she could feel blood trickling down her face. Probably, she thought, from her now blinded eyes.
Even as she tried to stumble away in the darkness, her body in great pain and her eyes blinded, Séanait was following her training. With her spear broken, all she had was her shield and langseax to defend herself. So, she fumbled around in the dark, feeling for them. Her fingers went across her crumbling linen armour, right to where the rotten leather strap held her shield to her back. It snapped, and the shield dropped to the ground behind her. Her langseax, fortunately, she managed to rescue from it's sheath before that dropped off her too. The leather grip was rapidly decaying, but there was a good steel tang under than, just enough for her to grasp.
And so, coughing as though she was dying and blind, Séanait tried to face the dragon with what amounted to a long knife.

Kail seeing the wing coming at him he braces for it and gets knocked on his ass. As he did though, the blond sees Shy get blasted by the black dragon and its foul breath. "Ilta, get Séanait out of here and try and treat her wounds. She's in no condtion to fight this thing off. I'll deal with the dragon, I took something that will resist the dragon's poison" he called out to the other woman. He readied his knives and got back up standing. Kail moved to the dragon's front and saw the large gaping hole in it with the moonlight shining down on them. Without any hesitation and with a unwavering will he charges in and switches the way he was holding the knives. He screams out a war like cry zig zagging his way to the dragon. To try and avoid getting slashed by the dragon. Even if the dragon had breathed on him. The blond would continue and try and drive both of his knives into the wound. To give the dragon a quick death, rather then a slow and painful death. That would agonize its pain any longer, as that for him was the worst way to go.

Ilta jumps back as the dragon’s ruined wing whips back at her. The pained scream forces her to look toward the dragon’s front end. The black gas had reached her. Her face, her eyes, down to her lungs. “Shit!” Kail’s advice was already on her mind before he could say it, starting to rush in that direction before he can complete that thought. She holds her breath against any lingering gas, but it still bits at her skin and clothes a bit, forming rashes on the former and holes in the latter.
She grabs on to her shoulder, and drags her backwards away from the dragon, “Come on, Shy.” Crap, this looked pretty horrible. She picks the other woman up and carries her, while running toward the lights of the houses. They weren’t too far from other people. She just needed to be fast. “Keep breathing. Just... keep breathing...” As she gets closer, she starts yelling for help.

Aaaand there were the screams. Claire swore under her breath, peering back over the hay bale. She could see running and the dragon flailing, and she looked down at the coil of rope around her arm. And then the blonde kid went in wailing. Claire groaned, muttering under her breath. Kid was going to get himself killed. She moved around the hay bale, at the back of the dragon, pulling her sword.
Despite the burning in her feet she lunged forward, stabbing at the tail of the beast. She would try and slash and stab where she could with her short sword, trying to stay out of range of the breath.

As the woman in front of the dragon screams, the young beast turns its focus to the other two as its side. The horned not-quite-a-dragon ran off, leaving the younger human as the only problem. It gives a low hiss while bearing its teeth at the blonde human. However, the sudden pain through its tail causes the creature to turn its head and look at what is attacking it from behind. It’s tail whips at Claire, but the distracted beast doesn’t notice the knives headed toward its already wounded chest. It gives another loud roar before collapsing on top of Kail. Meanwhile, people begin to look outside as Ilta calls for help. Upon seeing the obviously injured Shy, an older woman with peppered grey hair waves them over. “In here! I think we have some lunar drops.” She hurries back inside, leaving the door open for others to follow through. Kail was not really paying attention as his adrennelen was furiously pumping as he was going for the deathblow. Then he struck home driving both of his knives into the beast. Then with its death cry, the blond pulls his knives out and narrowly gets out of the way. Landing on his ass again but was breathing deeply as he slayed the beast himself. Although it was a team effort in the end "Holy shit.......HOLY FREAKING SHIT. I slayed a freaking dragon" he said and was panting loudly. As the adrennelen was still going through his body. He slowly gets to his feet and cleans off both of his knives and goes to get his jacket. Kail's mind was going a mile a minute as he had played out a real life version of Monster Hunter. He also collects the discarded bola.
"Is she going to be ok" he said now coming off his high as he was walking it off. One could tell he was still psyched that he did the finishing blow on the dragon. He did worry about Shy as she took a rather heavy dose of the Dragon's poison.

Pain.
PAIN.
PAIN!
Séanait remembered strong arms grabbing her and her langseax dropping from her hands, but then the pain grew so intense that she became lost in it, oblivious to her coughing or the whimpers she made during the brief periods when she wasn't coughing.
And then, the pain ceased. There were flashes of people, something about the moon, and then the world began to shift and change. He mind remembered pain, and so it took her back to the burning city she once knew, only this time she'd been burned in the assault. In her minds eye, half her face was burned, along with her right hand. It was all blackened flesh, fingers curled into an impossibly tight fist from where the sinews had shrunk in the heat. But she could still talk, oh yes, and she knew the words to say, the words she had said last time.
Unbeknownst to Séanait, she cried out in her sleep for all to here. Perhaps fortunately for her, she spoke in her native language and noone would be able to understand her.
"Marú iad go léir! Iad a dhó i gcuid tithe, spártha aon duine. Níl naíonán, aon leanbh, aon bhean. Iad éist i gcuid tithe agus a lig dóibh sruthán mar a rinne muid!"
Then her dreamscape shifted again and she was at the battle of Abhainn Bhréan. But this time it was dragons, not humans. Thirty thousand dragons charged across the ground, making it shake so much that it was hard to keep a footing. As one they opened their mouths, and she could see the fire there, ready to consume her. Terrified, she nonetheless stood her ground and screamed her defiance.
"Cwealm! Cwealm!"
Séanait sat bolt upright, left arm raised as though it held and shield and her right thrusting an imaginary spear at the foe.
"Cwwwweeeeeaaaaallllllmmmmm!"
Heart pounding, body covered in sweat, Séanait suddenly realised that she wasn't at home in the Thusends. Where exactly her brain didn't know right now, but it was anywhere near an army of dragons, so that was good. She looked around, still a little wide eyed, and tried to find something familiar to help with the memories.
