Claire was on the hunt.
It wasn’t her first, not by a long shot. Her long journey to get to this god forsaken wintery hell of a city had often left her without a Samaritan to call upon, leaving her to look to nature for a meal or shelter. So she sat on lookout, behind a bale of hay, sharpening her sword in the faint light of a lantern supplied to her.
The money wasn’t the important thing. It was nice, but those scared farmers could keep it as far as she was concerned. The house was of more interest to her. The people of this district were put down upon in the upper levels, but it was nice here. Quiet. And these people seemed kind as well, even to a stranger from a far away land. Their fear was justified, and any chance to put down a great beast would be more than welcome. Hell, she was looking forward to this.
Claire looked over her short sword before sheathing it, lifting the light to look out into the pitch black darkness of the farmlands. Well. Come and get some.

Kail had saw the quest and saw the reward, some money and a house. Of corse it was bad for any farmer to get attacked like that. He made his way to the area and had requested at the requester's home to see if he could stowe away some of his things in a safe location. While he was at the home he took out a few items from his bag. One was some paracord from off the thing as well a few other items and put them in his jacket. As well but his knives in sheaths then in his coat. While waiting for nightfall Kail had made a bola throwing weapon to try and trip up the creature. He also took the time to find some decent glass bottles and some rags. While getting some strong alcohol and filled them and stuffed them with the rags. He placed them in his pockets of his coat.
As it was now dark, Kail had slowly let his eyes adjust to the darkness. He slowly started to make a patrol of an area where this thing could have struck. The blond knew that a few others had taken it. So it would be slightly easier to deal with a large beast or whatever it was attacking. He was at least prepared to fight this thing.

Money and a house. This solved two of Ilta’s major problems in one go. It wasn’t her first time defending a town. And while nearly died or got turned into a monster last time, Nova didn’t seem to experience any manner of creature remotely similar to Dusk. Thieves were far easier to deal with. Dressed mostly in black, she blends in well with the night itself. However, being as tall as she was stealth wasn't necessarily her strong suit. As she reaches the Farmlands, it reminds of her of her first home a bit. She grew up in a place a little like this. There was once a wolf taking people’s sheep, and because of the space, it took weeks to find and kill the thing. The fields of vegetation stretched out a long ways. Catching someone a thief, wolf, or whatever creature in a large field was going to be difficult.
In the middle of the crops, she sees light and hears people. Light or sounds? Electing to follow the sound of someone walking through the field, she sees a human male. The dragonion girl stands tall as she approaches him. A hand on her longsword, she asks him, “State your business.”

Kail hears a voice call out to him and turned to the woman. He sees in the dimness her hand on her sword. Playing it safe he keeps his arms up and walks over "Do not attack, I took up that job to find out what's attacking the farms out here. I'm doing a patrol right now to see if something is out of the ordinary or find any clues to whats attacking" he said and made sure that he was not a threat. As Kail got closer he saw the woman was not exactly human. As she had horns coming out from her head. For Ilta she would see his attire was not from this world and somewhere else for that matter. "Have you seen or heard anything that was out of the ordinary" he asked while waiting to see this lady's judgement on him. He hoped that lady luck was on his side of the evening.

Ilta takes her hand off her sword. “You also took the job then. Wonder if we'll be splitting the reward then… I guess I shouldn’t have expected my own house. Ilta is my name if we are going to own the same property.” She takes a better look at the man. Out of the ordinary described more or less his whole attire. He must of have stuck out just about everywhere he went. But perhaps this was another strange thing about this world. Pointing ahead of them both to the glow of the lantern, she says, “Anyone out here this late would be out of the ordinary. No farmers is going to be out working right now.” Walking to the direction of the lights, the man was free to follow here.

Claire looked back over her shoulder when she heard voices, heaving up the light further to look. Ah, it was that strange woman from the springs. The other one. And a new boy. Despite her ill encounter with the red-haired girl, this woman had shown her no trouble, so she smiled a little as the two approached and raised her hand in greeting.
<”I should have known I wouldn’t be the only one!”> Claire calls out to them before realizing they wouldn’t understand her. She shakes her head and corrects herself in common. “Here to kill the beast?” she lifts her lantern in Ilta’s direction, tilting her head to look at her better. Yes, this woman was stange. But she looked capable. The flamboyant boy she was less sure of. “It has been a quiet night.”

Kail sees that the demon woman had bealived him on taking the job as well. "We will see on that matter, and I'm Killian. You can call me Kail if you like" he said and then followed her and met up with another person. She looked normal and spoke in an odd language and then shifted to another one that they could hear. "Yeah.....so silent on your end as well" he said and saw that this woman was at least normal looking. The blond shifts a bit and checks his pockets a few times. "So ladies, are the two of you Fated. Like my self or are you from this world" he asked. Since Kail wanted to strike up a conversation with the two. As there would be time before the creature attacked the area. Plus he wanted to know more about the two. Since they would be housemates if the reward was split between the three of them.

Ilta reaches a familiar face attached to that light. She attempts to look away to preserve her eye’s adjustment to the dark, but realizes it has already been ruined. What was that woman’s name? It seemed odd to know what someone looked like naked, but not have a name. “Aye. I don’t think we were introduced last time. My name is Ilta. I’m unsure if they plan to provide three houses, so we might very well own a single property together. If we find the beast, that is. No reports of the beast attacking people, so we might spook the thing with our presence alone. We’re certainly a large enough group to scare off your average wolf.”
She leans against the bale of hay. She looks at Kail as he talks. He doesn't seem like he has done much like this before. As far as she could tell, he didn't have a real weapon on him. However, maybe he was skilled at magic and didn't need one. “Like yourself? If you mean Fated, then yes. However, they don’t dress as odd as you where I’m from, which is apparently the distant future of this place. Not that it matters.” Her eyes go to watching the fields, and tries to look for movement. However, she had her doubts that they would see much this evening. It might very well be a wasted night when it came to earning money.

Claire smiled at Ilta, extending a hand. “In this country they call me Claire.” she nodded. “Ilta. Beautiful. I do like the-” she gestured up to her head, where the horns were. “Very impressive. Scare a lot of men, no?” she grinned, nodding again. This clearly wasn’t a bad thing in her books.
She turned her head to look over at the boy, moving the light in his direction. She laughed at his words, turning her head back to Ilta with her eyebrows raised. “Do ah- do many people in this country speak like this? From this world, what sort of question is that? Is it common?” she nodded over to Kail, the light in her hand bouncing slightly. “Boy- no. Killian? Is it common to dress like this in your country?”

"I'm not from this world or time. If I were in your world I would be at least 2000 years or more into the future. So my attire would be normal in my time and world. I mean heck, Magic does not even exsist in our world. We mostly have to use technology" Kail said answering Claire's question as he quickly answered her question. "Plus the world I come from there only humans. Elves, Drow, Orcs, Dragons, and such don't exist, They only exist in fairy tales and fictional stories. Forgive me if I sounded rude. I have a lot to learn while I am here" he said and hoped that he did not piss off either woman as it looked like either of them could cut him in two.
Kail slowly goes to his sides and pulls out one of his knives and it looked a like a weapon made survival and it was a rather big blade. It seemed about to be nine inches long and it was slightly thick for a blade. "I got two of these. So I'll be ok, Plus while waiting for nightfall I made a bola so if we do have a creature. I can trip it up, I hopre" he said and looked over the blade. It looked like it was in working order.

Ilta returns the handshake. She smiles widely at the complement. “Thank you. Very few people appreciate them. And yeah, they are a pretty imposing set. Good for travel and not being bothered in bars.” It wasn’t really a trait that most humans seemed to value. It was a sentiment pretty much exclusive to other dragonions as a sign of being closely connected to one’s heritage.
She raises an eyebrow as Kail tells her that pretty much everything she has ever known doesn’t exist in his world. “Not rude if it’s true. Meeting Mysteria must have been a shock for you, then. She’s dragonion maybe or something close. Definitely not ku-deyu though.”
She looks over Kail’s weapons. “You ever used a bola before? The knives are unusual. They don’t…” She struggles to find her words. They didn’t ring the same like ones she’s ever heard, singing bizarre notes that knives don’t normally make. They had been worked on in a completely foreign way, which, considering the kind of place Kail was from, made sense. It takes her awhile to really get the tune that they are attempting to make. “They aren’t perfect, but they’ll do fine for the job.”

Claire’s eyebrows raised higher as Kail continued to talk. She leaned back against the bale of hay, crossing her arms and occasionally looking back over to Ilta, befuddled but amused as the boy continued on. Well. Drunk or crazy. She shifted on her heels and leaned in closer to Kail, sniffing him before nodding. Yep. Crazy.
She looked down at the boy’s knife, nodding. “Will do, if you can keep up.” The boy didn’t look like he could to her. Too young and much too skinny.
“Your country is very strange, Ilta.” she turned her head to look back at her. “Unless this is not your country as well? In which case we are all, ah- foreigners? Which would be a very strange coincidence.” Claire grinned before looking back to Kail.
“A bola, you say? Bola.” Claire tilted her head down at him. “Please, show us how well you can throw.” she pushed her fist into his skinny arm, grinning broadly.

".....Yeah yeah yeah, think I'm from a loony bin from somewhere. Don't cha" Kail remarked sarcasticly as it looked like it from the two warrior women. More so with Claire as she came over and sniffed him. Even then they both saw that he was not suited for combat and perhaps they were right. But they should not under estimate him that much. "It was more of the magic and maybe her appearance. But it was more of the magic that freaked me out" which was the truth as some of the unearthly apperances of some races could have been done by stage makeup and effects. Then they jabbed him on the bola and he sighed a bit. "I've seen people use them and I did some practicing after I made it. Its not easy for someone that's a greenhorn in combat. So whatever at this point" he said and took it out from a pocket in his jacket. Under the situation it was not fancy but it would get the job done. But then hears the taunt from Claire and just glares.
"Really......Claire, is this some kind of test to show that I am some kind of manly man or something. I might not be built like some kind of damn wargod. But I can take a few hits. Strength is not everything"he said sounding really pissed off. He steps away from the two and looks for a target. He slowly spins the bola around until it gained some speed and then threw it a few feet and it hit the target. Although it was a bit sloppy he did get the target. Kail then walks over to get his weapon.

Ilta shrugs as Claire looks at her. He could very well be crazy, but she was giving him the benefit of the doubt. The knives were strange. Ilta shakes her head when Claire asks if she is a foreigner, “No. Not from here. However, my home is similar to this place, but somehow also different.” There were some time she thinks that she hardly left her Feyerlun, and others when the differences began to pile up, and she wondered if this really was the past.
Ilta amused at the exchange between Kail and Claire. The boy was scrawny, and did seem green. She wonders if he has ever been in a real fight in his entire life. And while Ilta doubted she was much older than him, he still seemed young. She laughs as he says the words ‘Manly man’. “No, I think we are all wondering if you are as new to this as you look. Hell, you hardly have a scratch on you. I’m guessing noble born, right? They always get sore when no one wants to stroke their ego.” However, she looks happy when he manages to throw the bola and hit something. At least, he could perform the minimum.

Claire crossed her arms, reaching a hand up to pat her cheek. Aw, he was angry. How cute. She tilted her head, casting her gaze over to Ilta as Kail tries much too hard to defend himself. Manly man indeed. She watched him cast off the bola, slightly surprised that he managed to throw it so far despite his sloppy form. Beginner’s luck.
“Noble born.” Claire sighs as the boy runs off to retrieve his weapon. “Nobles will let their sons get-” she twirled her finger at her temple, raising her eyebrows at Ilta, “-and, well. No lower born house would let him get this pretty and off.” Claire looked up at the clear sky, shivering a little from the cold. It was getting very, very late. Where was this creature anyway? Unless it was smart enough to wait them out through the night. Either way, it was going to be a very long night.
