Oh Crapbaskets-Quest Thread

Sai didn't know if her small distraction did the trick but she was able to see Diamond get a good hit on the thing before it decided to take on a defensive ball. She watched it roll around knocking down from pillars with the way before it turned towards her. "Oh Crap in a basket."


She knew that she didn't have time to waste since that thing was going to crush her in a manner of seconds. Not even thinking she quickly threw her remaining daggers into the tree using them to hand holds to climb higher as she grabbed a branch she was going to use it to swing herself out of the tree when she felt the ground around the tree and the golem shaking. Cursing under her breath knowing that she would only have one shot at this and she can't mess it up.


Using her weight and feeling her movements accelerated she swung out of the tree towards the direction of the others, doing a double back flip in the air landing next to one of the recently fallen pillars in a low crouch. Standing up she turned to look at what happened during time of escape, realizing that she had landed just at the edge of the newly formed chasm. "Well, I'm alive and unharmed anyone else?" She said as she walked backwards not wanting to fall in while keeping an eye on they metal friend.

Diamond had a small smirk on his face as his strike hit the golem very hard in the side. He had hoped that it would have caused a massive dent into the thing. But it seemed that his blow did make the thing fall over but that smirk was wiped away as the golem had transformed into a ball. He then jumped back as the golem started to roll about the grounds of the ruins running into pillars and other things. The thing was gaining more and more speed as it was trying to crush them. It seemed that with there distraction that they had all chipped in to do had worked as Adrian seemed to cast several spells or something. As there was a slight tremor and saw the earth open up intending to drag the metal man down into the earth. The saw Sai jump from the tree and then with acrobatic grace landed near by and was walking backwards to them. "Just don't keep walking just run your ass back over here. Don't worry about that thing, we got your back Sai" he called out and was ready with his kanebo like club ready to pound the giant into bits if he had to. But this thing had vigor and it seemed to not go down with out a fight. Diamond did hope that the hole would swallow up this giant metal man.

As the golem was rolling forward though it felt that the earth below it would give out. Then felling of a incline down into the earth as it went down that way it picked up speed. With the golem picking up speed down its arms popped out the sides of the ball. It then slamed them into the ground trying to bounce. And saddly it did and got across the hole and on the other side although it had ended on the edge of the presapise and was teatering a bit. It tried to keep going forward but could not and was rolling back down, the golem tried grip into the earth with its arms but could not. Even with it trying to transform into bipidal automation trying to use its legs in a valliant effort to try and climb back out. But its shear mass caused it to fall into the hole and there would be a loud crash and thud sending tremors back up to the group. It looked stunned but it would slowly try and awaken again and try and come after the group. As this group of tresspassors had violated this temple's sanctity and purity. Its duty had been given to him by his original creator.

Everything seemed to work out as far as Adrain could tell. The golem now found itself trapped in a pit down below and everyone was unharmed as far as he could tell. Sai might have been a little rattled, but she didn't show it. The Archmage walks over to the edge of the pit the golem was at, and kneels down scrawling an arcane glyph real fast before he looks down at the metal monstrosity trying in vain to get back up.

"...I still want to know what it knows. I am going to try something." Adrain says facing the golem, but speaking to the group. At this point, his eyes turn white as powerful arcane streaks emit from his hands, launching at the creature's head, piercing the opening the veil and anywhere else the inner workings could be, seemingly like Adrain was electrocuting it.

"GOLEM I TIRE OF THESE GAMES. I AM ARCHMAGE ADRAIN KAIARU, YOUR NEW MASTER. OVERRIDING PROTOCOLS AND TAKING COMMAND. AEVERUS WORKAEUN EITEN. SALUREVEN DESRAI AVEERIN KAL SAI CAH" he says, booming his voice with air magic and altering it to sound more commanding and sinister. Strong wind blows around him as the sparks of arcane energy fly at the golem, giving him an unnatural and possibly terrifying appearance while he was trying to forcibly take control of the golem.

Iris watched as Sai gracefully escaped her situation, before the creature fell into a chasm, making her escape a moot point. Iris made her way over to the group, hearing Diamond call out to Sai to hurry. Iris glanced down into the chasm as she walked past it, watching the creature wriggle around, trying to get back up and come after them. She didn’t have much to contribute so far, so she stood behind Adrain and watched as he did some kind of voodoo thing to the golem.

She cocked an eyebrow curiously as he yellowed down at the thing, taking a step back so her poor ears wouldn’t suffer the consequences. ”Do you think that worked?” She asked once he was finished, glancing over at Diamond and Sai, shrugging her shoulders.

Sai wasn't going to admit to anyone but she was honestly scared just now for the first time in her life. Normally she was aware that the job she was taking on might kill her but she didn't expect to almost die by being rolled over by a two-ton metal golem. Now that the small burst of adrenaline rush had worn off she jogged back regrouping up with everyone, trusting Diamond that they got her back in case that thing tried something.



Once with everyone she scratched the back of her head not accustom to having to say these words to someone. "Uh... Thank you Adrain... and you as well Diamond." Her she was an assassin who fears little, played almost every role possible and simple thank you was causing her issues.



Kicking a stray rock into the ditch watching it roll down the sides for a moment before she notices Adrain heading towards the edge of it. She just nodded her head if he had a plan she was going to have to trust him, she had just wished that she has given a bit more of a warning as his voice suddenly got loud.



Following suit of Iris, she took a few steps back not wanting to lose her hearing anytime soon. At Iris question, she just shrugged her shoulders magic wasn't her specialty. "Who knows maybe it will maybe it wouldn't, either way, we got nothing to risk right?"

"More then likely Iris" said Diamond as he replied to the blond as the thing had been a challange. If things did not work out with Adrian though. The mercenary was more then ready to unleash a powerful attack on the giant metal golem. He then uses his ability and then shrinks down the diamond club down into a large sized diamond crystal and puts it into his side pouch. Diamond does see Sai come back over looking a bit rattled and could not blame her since that thing was a monster of a machine. "I am sure you might have done the same if the situation was fliped" he said and then watches Adrian walks over to the hole that the golem fell into. It seemed that the mage was pissed off as he was using more magic and he was yelling at this thing. The white haired male had to give a loud wissle at this sight, he had been around mages but this guy was above normal in power. Diamond did wonder if this would work on this thing as it was really resilliant since it had shrugged a lot of there attacks off.

Right before Adrian had tried to overwrite the Golem, it clutched its chest. And with both of its arms opend its chest exposing its mana cores. Although what would be odd were the fact that there were lenses over each of the cores. With arcane sigils and glyphs on it and each of them were glowing and it seemed that it was going to unleash a extremely powerful attack. But then Adrian had used his high magical power on the golem. It twiched and unleashed a unearthly howl and then went silent, falling over into the ground. After a few minutes though, its red eyes glowed again. Reactivating and slowly standing back up and looks about. "WHAT ARE YOUR ORDERS" it said as it seemed that Adrian's actions were sucessful on rewriting some of its command cores.  It would no longer be hostile to the party and attack them.  Although during this was happening a shadowy figure had slipped into the temple during the chaos of the battle. Also some of the pillars had been destroyed and four of them revealed some kind of treasures. One was a sword, another was a spear, a knife, and a shield. But they were heavily beaten up, scratched, and heavily battle worn. The blades on the weapons were blunt and would need some repairs and sharpening to get back into working shape.

The sword had a white handle and guard, it had a tiger motif over the blade and a worn image on the blade. The blade was curved and looked like it was a claw or fang. The knife was red and had a bird wings for the guard/ricasso and the handle was based on a bird. The spear was blue and had a spiraling wrap on the shaft of the weapon. At the butt of the spear was a dragon holding a blue orb in its maw, the blade was also curved like the sword. The shield was black and in the shape of a turtle shell a more spikey kind then a smooth kind of shell. Each one also had a vauge magical presence from it as well but again they were old and would need a lot of work to get them in working order.

Adrain had noticed that a surge of energy was coming during the forcible reprogramming process but he could feel it almost working...just a moment more...and there. The golem powered down as the new programming took effect and he fell to the ground on his back for a moment, briefly exhausted from the effort. It wasn't easy to convey how much energy and effort that particular take over was, some very resilient defenses to have to have gone around. Even Adrain had limits biologically speaking as a spellcaster. During this time, Adrain thought he sensed a foreign presence and looked in the general direction but ultimately saw nothing but the temple's entrance. He wasn't certain if that was real or an artifact of senses from the arcane energy fading away from the active spell.

He would not notice the bounty of equipment that was strewn across the ground, the others having right to pick through it first. Once he deduced the golem seemed to be submissive, he would hold his right hand to the ground as he began to raise the earth and rock under the golem to bring it back to the surface. Once the golem was able to walk again, Adrain approached it, looking at the tank-like construct, walking to the back and scrawling two glyphs behind it. One of a short range teleportation and one of an electrical explosive nature.

Once he was done, he went back to the front of the golem and beckoned it to follow closer to the entrance of the temple as he spoke.

"Identify self and purpose. What is it you are guarding here and what exactly should one expect to be in that temple?"

Iris nodded to the answers to her question, and just stood back to watch. Sai seemed a bit frazzled for a moment, but quickly shook it off, Diamond looked confident that things would work, and Adrain’s face was away from her, but he was probably confident as well. Iris turned her eyes to the golem, narrowing her eyes as it’s glowed red. She prepared herself for whatever it would do, but was greatly disappointed as it belted out a question asking for orders.

Iris stood straight again, stifling a yawn and looking around. She really wasn’t needed here, hell with the way things turned out, this job had a two person max really. When Adrain started walking, she waited for the golem to pass her before following behind it, just in case. It seemed they were headed to the temple, hopefully something interesting would happen once they were inside.

Sai took a few steps away from everyone not liking the emotions that they were causing to spring fore within her. Taking a moment look around them as Adrain played with his new golem overwriting it's original programming seeing that it had taken an effect on it, she turned to look around them seeing the destruction of the once beauty temple ruins. A flash of red in the grass caught her eye walking toward it, she noticed that it as an old beaten up dagger at least the blade was. Crouching down she picked up the dagger testing the weight in her hand for a moment loving the feel of the blade, the hilt was an interesting design as well something that she hadn't seen before. Placing it on her belt she was going to walk back towards the others when more splashes of colour walking towards them she noticed a sword, off from another pillar was a spear and finally a shield.



Using her foot she kicked the sword up into her hands, before moving on towards the spear doing the same then finally coming to the shield. Placing the spear and sword in her right hand she picked up the shield before heading back to where everyone was, placing them on the ground she looked away. "It looks like the golem helped uncover these." Her voice once again returned monotoned her emotions pushed back down.



"They're in need of repair, but I believed they could be useful to us." As she looked away from everyone having noticed that Adrain had reappeared from behind the golem. Only hearing the question for it to tell them what to expect in the temple, now she was curious about what inside the temple. Her eyes now resting on the temple's entrance, her fingers touching the hilt of her newly acquired knife, pulling it out from her belt to examine it a bit closer wondering who crafted the weapon, quickly she placed it back on her belt with a quick notice to send down the chain to find out who the blacksmith was.

Diamond sees Sai come over and raises his eye brow when he sees the weapons. Mostly in curiosity as these were weapons he had seen out in the eastern lands. On where he had fought battles in and it was uncomon to see these kinds of things here even then. These seemed to be very old as they had been hidden within a few pillars. What secrets were there to this temple if these things were here. "Now, I am curious on what secrets are hidden within the temple now. If there weapons like these here.....this is really weird. Iris take your pick on what you want from these, but I will not take the shield though. My fighting style is not suited to use a shield" he said and he looked out of the corner of his eye as something had slipped into the the temple. Although felt that everyone else saw what had slipped into the the temple while Adrian was taking over the golem as its master. He then watched the mage try and get info out of the metal man.

"....I AM FORGED DREI.....MY PURPOSE IS TO GUARD THE ULTIMATE WEAPON OF THE DARK MAGUS CATASTOR ZELENOS" the golem said as it was not going to attack the group as it was now under the control of Adrian. "THERE ARE MANY SECURITY MEASURES INSIDE......WARNING DETECTING INTRUDER INSIDE TEMPLE......ORDERS MASTER" it said as it turned to the temple but was not going to take another action. As it was under full ownership of Adrian. The meaning of the Dark Magus Catastor would have been something that was hushed in some circles. As he had mad assperations of ruling the world by collecting magic users as there were only a few that were able to use magic. That and had traveled the entire world learning all kinds of arcane arts. There were some that said the creator of the arch of ages might have defeated the dark mage. Although most of this was hear say and rumors. But he was defeated in some way, but where and how has been lost in time.  It would need some research or investagation, although as they stand there. There would be a small amount of rumbling and a few booming sounds coming within the temple.

When the name Catastor Zelenos came to mind, Adrain's eyes widened. He thought it was but a legend, a myth even. He didn't know many of the supposed details, but he knew enough such that if there was any truth to this, and since a golem would likely not lie or fabricate that name there was reason for concern. The statement about an intruder and security measures snapped his attention as he turned to the rest of the group, immediately walking towards the temple entrance.

"Let's go. This just got a lot more serious." he states with a much deeper tone with a scowl on his eyes. He holds his hand up as time magic radiates around him, hastening all. "Golem come with and alert us to any traps that we need to deal with. Identify nature of this supposed weapon and it's capabilities." he says, ignoring the magic items once more and running to the temple proper, cautiously but quickly entering the premises. He holds his hand up, detecting a faint trace of mana and begins to follow it, attempting to catch up to the supposed invader.

Iris hadn't noticed the loot until Sai kicked up her weapon, and Diamond beckoned her to take whatever she wanted. "Hmm I could actually find a use for this shield. Thanks for pointing it out Diamond." She bent over and picked it up, dusting it off and feeling it rest against her arm. She would most likely ask Killian to help her restore it, as he had promised to fix her a weapon some day. Perhaps she would trade that out for this instead. Iris nodded to herself, ignoring what was going on around them. The golem seemed to be completely under Adrain's control and was currently no longer a danger to them, so she followed behind the rest of the group, only coming back to the present when Adrian spoke.

He seemed to find that this mission of their's had gotten more serious, so Iris made sure to stay more alert this time around, looking around them as they walked, not having noticed the shadow figure who'd entered before them.
