Biography
History: Ansley’s father Baron Sir Ronald Bradly Crawford gained his barony eight years prior to Ansleys birth. Originally serving as a knight, Sir Ronald Crawford had fought bravely countless times protecting the kingdoms borders. It was on a way port on the western side of Nova that he gained his most fame. Defending the cove which an invading fleet of pirates tried to lay claim. The siege lasted two fortnights in which Sir Bradly Crawford, though he and his men were outnumbered, came out victorious. He was awarded the cove and the land around it. Ronald met his future wife during a diplomatic trip to the port of Kanto; she was the youngest daughter of an Earl and Countess of Kanto. A fine woman with spirit as wild as the desert horses she loved. Her name was Asim Marie Sakhmet; upon moving to Nova she went by Marie as it was easier on the common tongue. He met Asim while observing one of the famous horse races; the young woman had placed a bet among him and some other gentlemen and won a chunk of good coin from him. To him this was love at first site; he began to court her. This courtship lasted a few seasons; seeing how Asim was the youngest of the counts daughters with a bit of a wild streak they submitted to their daughter’s wish to marry the young Baron.
Ansley was their first child, like most noble children she was raised by a wet nurse and her mother. She was spoiled rotten by her father; who would grant anything to those large pretty green eyes. When Ansley was six her mother had a riding accident to which she passed away from. She had been racing her horse through a well down forest trail, when the horse threw a shoe and stumbled. Asim fell from the horse and broke her neck. Her father took the loss hard and became fairly reclusive. At the age of seven Ansley was sent off to the castle to receive a proper education in becoming a lady. Often returning home for a couple of weeks during the summer. During which her father still spoils her rotten.
Ansley grew up and into womanhood around the castle; serving under the Arch Duchess she learned the proper way to act like a lady of the court. When she turned sixteen she was recognized as a proper lady of the court and granted her mother’s title of Baroness. Ansley held the Arch Duchess in great respect, that was until the recent events. She was horrified to learn of the older woman’s campaigns against the fated and out right disrespect against the gods chosen champions. It was after hearing the gods warnings that Ansley made the decision to separate herself from Severine’s inner circle. She wasn’t rude of course she just attended less outings and gatherings in which the woman hosted. It wasn’t obvious until the court meeting fallowing, when Ansley chose to position herself in a seat as far from the Arch Duchesses side. A wise decision considering the events that fallowed.
Since Severine’s public shaming, Ansley has chosen to keep her presence in the court low key. As her fondness for the older woman who had been her teacher had been known. Ansley feels a deep sorrow for how things turned out with the older woman. Personally thinking old age and a thirst for power finally got the better of someone who once was the very example of a proper noble woman.
